This venue is BYOB, but there is an alcohol store within a 5 minute walk, an ATM + food next door.

If it's a sold out / crowded show I can definitely see how this is overwhelming for a small child. If you have a child under 5 I'd say to avoid, especially since they can't really see the stage unless you pick them up. Another huge disappointment was that Taylor Swift was not dressed up. When we saw this show at Starland Ballroom Taylor was in costume. At White Eagle the singer was just wearing a black Rock and Roll Playhouse tee shirt. I think they could've had a lot more fun with this and the kids would've been excited. For a sold out show they also could have also kept both sides of the bars open. Lines were crazy long. And for the kids drink on special they should probably consider offering a lid with the cup. It felt like miss after miss for a 'kid friendly' event, so we probably wouldn't head back here for a Rock and Roll Playhouse, or at least I'd wait until my kids were older.

As someone who loves a good rooftop moment, I had to check out Rooftop at Exchange Place during our…read moreJersey City trip, and visiting on Juneteenth turned out to be the perfect choice. The weather was absolutely ideal -- warm enough to enjoy being outside but still crisp, with very little humidity. Basically, rooftop weather perfection. The biggest draw here is, without question, the view. The space itself is beautiful, with a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, but seeing the Manhattan skyline illuminated at night is what makes this place special. It's one of those views that reminds you why people romanticize New York and the surrounding area so much. They offer a full food menu, although it appeared to be available primarily for guests seated indoors. The outdoor area seemed to focus more on drinks and lighter bites. Just know before you go: this is definitely a splurge spot. Everything is priced at a premium, so prepare yourself accordingly. Unfortunately, the service experience got off to a rough start. Both the security staff and hostess came across as unwelcoming and not particularly friendly. Whether they were overwhelmed or simply having an off night, it didn't create the best first impression. My biggest disappointment, however, was the restroom situation. By around 9:30 p.m., the bathroom was already in pretty terrible condition. Honestly, it was hard to believe it had deteriorated that much in just a few hours, and it gave the impression that it may not have been properly cleaned earlier in the day. Overall, Rooftop at Exchange Place delivers exactly what most people come for: spectacular views, a beautiful atmosphere, and an unforgettable skyline backdrop. Just be prepared for premium prices, a potentially lukewarm welcome, and hope that someone has checked on the bathrooms before you arrive.

Have been to this location for the 4th of July in the past and was beyond excited to go back again…read more I was deeply disappointed and angered by the way management managed the influx of reservations and walk ins. I had an 8:30 reservation and arrived 30 minutes prior (according to their strict directions via text). I waited in line for an hour and 15 minutes and only received a wristband as the fireworks were going off and after arguing with the manager Jude. He consistently let walk ins in before dealing with any reservations. We also paid 35 dollars in advance. Once I got up to the rooftop, I was informed I would have to wait longer as they were kicking people out of our table. I asked to speak with a manager and again was forced to wait 35 minutes and witnessed a hostess quit mid shift. I do want to note, while waiting in line, a kind security guard informed me that the manager was letting people in who were late to their reservation. For example, a couple came at 8:00 for their 7:15 reservation and were let in. This was a horrible experience and will never be back. I understand the craziness of the 4th of July but this could have been avoided. Do not spend your money here, there are plenty of amazing places in Jersey City. Check out District! We went there instead and it was 10/10.

I've lived in Hoboken my entire life and have watched bars succeed or fail based on one simple…read moreprinciple: how they treat their customers. Unfortunately, this establishment has a bartender who seems determined to test that theory every shift she works. Rude, hostile, confrontational, and openly unwelcoming, she creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for anyone who isn't part of her preferred circle. I've watched customers get treated poorly simply because they rubbed her the wrong way. When a bartender's attitude becomes the most memorable part of the experience, that's a problem. I've ignored it before, but after repeated incidents directed at both me and my boyfriend, it's clear this isn't a bad day, it's a pattern. In Hoboken, customers have dozens of bars within walking distance. Hospitality isn't optional; it's survival. Making paying customers feel unwelcome is a bold strategy in a town where people can easily take their money elsewhere. Management should remember who actually keeps the lights on. Customers are hard to replace. Bartenders aren't. If this is the culture you're choosing to tolerate, don't be surprised when people choose to spend their money somewhere they're actually welcomed. Please, Do better.

For $50 an hour this place is soooo worth it! I loved the simple decor, but small touches like the neon light, color changing lamps, and fun chairs make this just a cool place. There's also a Bluetooth speaker in here so you can put on your favorite music. There was also a small nook with a fridge to place drinks. The next room/area was more for lounging it had a couch with a tv if you want to put anything on. The bathroom was also in this area and clean given nobody comes in to clean in-between reservation spots. Overall, this place is great to come chill with a group of friends or to celebrate your birthday playing some pool with a group. Loved the idea/concept behind it; would love if we had this back home!

One room had the pool table and bluetooth speakers, there was a connecting area that had a mini fridge and small table for four, and the second room had some couches, chairs, TV and a private restroom. If you're looking for an affordable spot to rent out for a get together or to play some pool, Sharks Pool Club would be perfect for your needs.
