Pint Bar in Jersey City is hands down one of my favorite spots. Max the bartender is amazing, always welcoming and makes you feel right at home. They do not have food although I saw a young family with children come in and inquire. Pint... you hold so many of my memories. I've lived in California for 6 years and whenever I visit home, it feels like no time has passed. Although bartenders I got to know and love are no longer there, the new staff is doing a great job carrying their legacies. As far as beer goes, they've got a huge selection choices. After years of living in JC, I visited Pint for the first time, and realized I've been missing out. Yes, it's technically a "gay bar," but all are welcome. At first glance you might think it's a dive bar, but inside is actually clean and well kept - think of it as a couple of steps up from Lucky 7. They have a solid selection of craft beers on tap, priced reasonably around $8, as most drinks are. They also had some all night shots specials; I grabbed an 1800 Tequila coconut shot for $6 - one of my favs. When I went on a Saturday night during Halloween weekend, it had a diverse and fun crowd. The fellas did outnumber the women by about 4:1, but even the small female presence made it feel like a regular bar. They also have a digital juke box, where you can select songs for free if you download an app. You just upvote songs to get it queued up. Apparently some people loooooved Latin music that night. Overall, it was a very cool experience. This is now one of my choice spots for a bar hop when I'm on Grove St. read more

Love this cute and cozy gem in Jersey City right off the Path train (Grove St). The bartenders were so friendly, and can I add that I was having TOO much fun I totally forgot my bag there on a Sunday funday! I had so much fun I don't remember if I really left it there but I went to the bar the very next day and low and behold, the bartender (who was not working the evening prior), sent a message to his colleagues in a group text and boom, he knew where my bag was. Been here a lot of times for a casual hangout. Pint is a very drama free (most of the time) dive bar with awesome drink specials and amazing bartenders with good customer service. They also stay open until really late. They provide yearly membership key tags due $1 off drink discounts and they also serve popcorn on the house, which a nice incentive. . It's all good from here. One of the best gaybars in the area or even in NYC metro. Bartenders are super friendly and greet you with a smile. Always willing to help and give great service. Vibe is nice and social. I have had nice conversations with people. Crowd is very approachable. Has a huge craft beer selection that changes periodically. Beer is nicely priced. Space has a nice smoking patio, tho I usually go out there to drink my alcohol due to the cramped space inside. My only complaint is I wish the space was bigger to accommodate the traffic. read more

Great place for happy hour and craft beer! Pint is located steps away from Grove St station. I promised myself to stop by for just one beer, but it turned out I had four before I left. Had a great conversation with the bartender, Nicholas who was from Astoria! Small world, innit? I stepped out to the patio in the back for smoking, but it was a little cold. Keep in mind, this place is a gay bar and I'm a straight man. I came here because from what I saw on Yelp, Pint has a REALLY good selection of beer, and they definitely do. Prices aren't bad, about $7 for a pint of craft beer. The place is small, seating for maybe about 20-30 people. They also have trivia. Didn't mess with the trivia because I was having too much fun with RockBot. It's like a social jukebox app that lets you pick the music that plays in the bar. My friend and I were playing the most random songs, from ABBA to Joan Jett and the Black Hearts. The beers were great too. If I wasn't driving that night, I probably would've tried out a fishbowl cuz they sounded good. And they came with a little rubber duck floating on top. Next time, I'm definitely getting some fishbowls and some rubber duckies. I saw a popcorn machine behind the bar and the bartender said they give it out during happy hour, from 5pm-8pm. Personally, I took the Path train, but my point is this...I don't care how you get to the Pint, just get there if you can! As luck would have it, they do have camel parking if you take a caravan! As I was saying to Oleta Adams* just the other day, if you are a craft beer lover in NYC and you have not made the 20 minute trip on the Path train (from 14th St) to Pint in Jersey City, you should be forced to drink wine coolers or whatever remaining stock is left of Zima for the rest of your life! This bar loves beer more than I do (hard to believe, I know) but they do a great job of curating their stock and they know it up and down. Michael the bartender turned me onto to so many great beers I had to start taking notes. The vibe is laid back and friendly, they do fun and interesting flights and the prices are spectacular. First discovered Pint when I was hanging out with a friend and her sister, and decided to grab a drink before dinner in Downtown Jersey City. Luckily it was a Monday evening and Pint's $5 Martini Monday was going on. We ended up going back on another night recently with my friends and family, again on a Monday which was also a blast! Pint has a classy, old school decor with a young, modern and fun vibe. I have only been here on Mondays, but enjoy their creative drinks like the Pomegranate Passion (Burnett's Pomegranate and Vodka, Pomegranate Liqueur and a Splash of Orange Juice) ($5 on Mondays). They also offer other drink specials, some of which come with a duck on top. Tip: Pint offers free popcorn for patrons. Overall, I'd recommend going to Pint on Mondays for a quick drink or two before dinner or hanging out elsewhere. It's a fun party-ish environment but also laid back. It also has a nice neighborhood bar kind of feel and doesn't feel overcrowded like some other bars would. I'll definitely be coming back for the Martini Mondays! read more

Tbh I have been here multiple times and it's always been a semi good experience but the last experience is what drove me to write this review. The atmosphere is great but the bartenders are always a hit or miss. Our last visit the bartender gave my sober friend alcohol instead of water and then charged us for someone else's drinks. Trivia - I didn't play. But it's free and fun. Computer style where you have a little machine you press the answers to the questions. The bar accepts all people- including adorable animals, but it is on the small side, so do NOT try and squeeze a big stroller in here. It is not welcome, as there isn't enough room and can be a safety hazard. I write this because some brainiac gave Pint one star for not allowing her stroller and child in with her while she drank, MEANWHILE- the same woman gave another venue one star (before she was a mom) complaining about strollers and children being there. This place has some of the best beer selection in Jersey City. So much to choose from and the bartenders (mine was Mikey) are super rad and knowledgable. I am horrible at making decisions when there is a huge selection and he helped me out and gave me some great beers . YUM But the bar is just the right size - not huge and not a tin can. Super nice inside - even the bathroom was clean!!! I hear their trivia is pretty fun and serious - I'm totally excited to try that out. I wouldn't say it's a gay bar - but gays definitely make up the large proportion of customers. I didn't even know this was a gay bar until I saw that category on yelp. And you know what, as a straight man I couldn't even tell. The crowd was predominantly male but isn't that the case with most craft beer bars? I came here thinking that it'd be a nice craft beer bar in JC. Unfortunately none of the crafts were on happy hour but when I came on Monday all martinis were only $5. I'll take that. The setting of the place is really nice. There are three two person booths along the wall which I recommend you grabbing if you're a party of two and you see one free up. The seats are high, even for a 6' tall man I couldn't touch the floor. But it'd give you an excuse to play footsies with your date unintentionally. The bartender is really personable and is more than happy to supply you with free popcorn along with your drink. The craft beers were a bit drab in my opinion but I think when I went it was working off a pumpkin tap takeover. Half of the beers were pumpkin which I liked. I'm a fan of them. The outdoor patio is through the back and a lot of the patrons use it to smoke in. There are plenty of TV screens and if you really want, you can use the tablets to play trivia with other willing members in the bar. Overall this place just felt great and welcoming. I love this place. Came here on a humid rainy Sunday after a lovely Sunday brunch with my friend. Perfect way to top off the afternoon. I love the vibe here. Yes, it's a gay bar but the crowd was mixed. There were at least a few other ladies present. I loved the goldfish bowl concept and my friend shared one with me. He was gallant enough to let me keep the cute lifeguard rubber duckie adornment (I heart you, Jarrett!). There is a cool video trivia game on screen and all the tunes are powered by Rockbot. I didn't try the beer but I hear there is a wide and quality selection. The booths are so unique and the outdoor patio is a mecca for smoking socializers. I really loved the crowd. It was pretty laid back and friendly. There were drink specials listed that seemed very reasonable. And free fresh popped popcorn. I will be back. read more
