Believe it! Our first time here and this is what we thought of Peña's TX Cafe. Service was great, from the second you walk in the door. I didn't get her name, but she was the best all around. Just passing through and our first time here, she was super patient, friendly and very helpful with the menu (she had a star tattoo on her wrist). As the restaurant was starting to get more customers I watched her go from taking care of customers to bagging the to go orders, and answering the phone. The food was delicious, something I already knew before coming here and reading the reviews. It's a pretty chill place, so many extra points for cleanliness! Customer satisfaction, food taste and cleanliness of the restaurant is most important to me, and Peña's didn't disappoint for sure. If we are back in the area we will definitely stop by again. Oh, I can't forget the coffee. It was delish too!

Excellente! Totally enjoyed my keto meal that I supplemented with a muffin . I liked that the fruit on my place looked fresh and didn't seem to come out of a bowl sitting in the refrigerator (plus for not serving purple grapes). My spouse had the migas that came with potatoes, refried beans and tortillas. Portions were generous and hot. You order at the counter but they do bring out your food to your table. Cashier and server were efficient and pleasant. Wish they had more selection on the pastries but you are able to get a "sweet" to enjoy with your coffee. Place is nice but lacking a bit in ambiance. Would benefit from more of a Texas flair besides the Texas flag on the wall. Perhaps a few pictures of Mexican cowboys keeping with the Peña Texas theme? I'll be back!

It was a quick stop to start off our day. We wanted something light and decided to try the Avocado Toast. It comes on sourdough, wheat or white toast with a fruit cup. We were excited to see Cafe De Olla on the menu. The service was great and very friendly. I really enjoyed the casual dining experience and the food choices were extensive too.

Good little lunch spot I never knew was here. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was a perfect crisp with really good seasoning! The fries had an amazing seasoning as well. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Keep an eye on their weekday specials. Great prices! Tres leches DONUTS!!! They recently started serving TRES LECHES DONUTS!!! The situation I grabbed a late breakfast at Pena's on Saturday after being super indecisive about what I wanted to eat. Should i eat healthy? indulgently? cheap? splurge? I could not decide. I had planned on trying out a new place but I ultimately decided I didnt want to spend too much money and ended up at Peña's. My Order I ordered a breakfast taco and a Boston crème donut when I looked up and noticed a pic of their tres leches donut in their drive thru window. I swear heavenly lights flashed around the picture. I had to have one immediately! Without having to swipe my card again, the drive thru attendant added the tres leches donut to my tab. She also proudly advised me that her mom came up with the tres leches donut and that it was REALLY good. All praise be to her momma! Anyway, after a couple minutes she handed me a small to go box that contained the donut. It looked even more amazing than the photo and again I swear heavenly lights shined from the box again and this time I heard angels singing. It was a work of art that ended up being equally delicious! The Taste - Tres Leches Donut You know the Mrs Baird's white powdered sugar donuts you'd eat back in the day and get all the powdered sugar all over yourself and everywhere? The donut itself reminded me of a homemade slightly softer bigger version of one of those donuts. It sat atop the most satisfying puddle of sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and cream or milk, and the top of the donut was intricately decorated with whipped cream and beautifully diced fresh strawberries. Each bite was SO delectable and dipping the donut in the 3 milk mixture with each bite was just SO...sigh, dreamy and incredible (drool face). The donut was so good I had to post a pic of it on my social media along with a gospel song by Patti Labelle because It was clearly a blessing to me that morning. That donut is a 5 star worldclass experience you will not regret. Non Tres Leches Donut items They have a great variety of other donuts as well and breakfast tacos, sandwiches, breakfast plates and bowls, even an indulgent donut sandwich that incudes sausage, bacon, chicken, cheese and an egg served on a soft warm glazed donut that melts in your mouth. So much variety, Their sausage and gravy biscuits are also fluffy and flavorful and they give you a good selection of your standard hot and cold coffees and lattes. Keto i should also mention they have a decent amount of keto options as well. Although Im not the biggest fan of their eggs (reason for the 4 stars instead of 5). The Service Lastly, the service at Pena's is always top-tier. They're always so polite and kind and really aim to get your order just the way you want it with kindness and a smile.

I love continue to love this place throughout the years. The staff and owner Aldo are truly so kind and accommodating for all our needs. Rebecca the floor manager is also so sweet with our kiddos and always help us for anything we need or special orders. The food is always on point and so delicious. The ultimate breakfast sandwich is so yummy but my favorite is the Keto breakfast plate, the barbacoa is always moist and delicious and eggs always cooked correctly. The restaurant itself is always clean, and decorated for the holidays and it's so cute. Needless I'll be back probably later this week keep up the good work Pena's!

Nearby for a baseball tournament and was hungry for an easy breakfast on a cold, gray morning. This sure fit the bill. There are options for all, from breakfast tacos to donuts to amazing breakfast sandwiches. The one I had featured lots of meats and I was able to exclude egg. The sandwich was huge! Staff are friendly and helpful and quick to meet your needs at all Angles. The place is open and nothing fancy in terms of decor but it attracts local meetings with good food and plenty of space.

So it's been 6yrs since I've been back to Peña's, as an aircrew during layovers my crew and I would come here if there was a chance to enjoy wonder service from the Owner/Manager Rebecca and now her daughter Alyssa. Still the best bang for your buck if you're in the mood for baked fresh daily pastries (of course donuts) and brunch dishes. Great place to come for break or with family or friends. My favorite is you can see the bake shop through the glass and see them in action preparing the next batch of amazingness!! I highly recommend trying their famous cronuts (donut meets croissant) you won't regret it and also a must is their pancakes. Nothing like you've tasted before. Now I flew all the way from Florida and of course my first stop is here.... You know why because they just have the best brunch in the Hobby area. Conveniently 5-7 min from the airport and surrounding hotels. Next door to Pearland shopping area for those that don't have a vehicle. Again come down to Pena's!! It's a must.

Great little diner, hidden away. Fast service, good food, great staff. I'll try the donut breakfast sandwich next time.

Everything on the menu is delicious!! From their mouth watering ultimate southern chicken biscuit to their light and fluffy donuts, you will not be disappointed. My top three are the ultimate southern chicken biscuit, their brisket tacos, their keto plate. When I'm totally splurging...their bacon covered maple donut and the the coconut donut is a little piece of heaven!! Oh, and I can't forget the coffee...they make an exceptional vanilla latte!! And their cafe de olla is devine!! Can't recommend this place enough! read more

Their coffee/cafe selections are better that the big box store- you must try!! It's always fresh and amazing! The people who work there are always full of smiles and to-go orders always have salsa, napkins, forks etc without having to ask. My favorite- honey butter chicken biscuit, chai tea latte, BEC breakfast burritos! The green salsa is SO good! read more

Great place for breakfast and lunch. I tried the strawberry Cronut and it was absolutely amazing! Also I tried the brisket taco and it was just ok. My dad had the farmers breakfast and thought it was really good. The next time I go I'm gonna have to try the maple bacon donut. read more

Penas is amazing! I literally eat there every week on my off day. Sometimes both off days lol. I usually get the breakfast Peña's classic with a waffle but sometimes I switch it up and get a burger or spicy chicken sandwich. That spicy chicken is to die for!! read more

Who would have thought there was a decent brunch place near our house! I was craving brunch items but did not want to drive into town and deal with the superbowl madness. So I popped up yelp, expecting to at least drive to clear lake or deep into pearland to find something. But this place popped up only minutes from our house. When I pulled up, I realized I have seen this place before when going to the starbucks at the corner. They have a very nice greeter at the door that hands you a menu. You then walk through the line to order drinks (coffee), and their donut case. This line moves slowly so you have plenty of time to review the menu. We got the cronuts and their maple bacon donut. We got a few other items too but those were the only memorable. The maple bacon was so good that we ended up getting some to go afterwards. As far as the brunch items, we got the chicken and waffles, it was solid, nothing spectacular, but definitely good. The Benedict flight was a bit disappointing. We got the garden, the bbq, and the mexican? the egg consistency was not there. The egg on the garden was cooked correctly, but the one on the mexican one was overcooked. Overall, I'll probably just stick the donuts and simplier items. The "brunch" type items were just OK and took a really long time to come out. Hi! So I went by and purchased a dozen of your really cute doughnuts to bring to work for my coworkers. The presentation was amazing but I just thought I would let you guys know that the doughnuts tasted like they were out there for several days. I had the bacon one and the bacon was really hard and my coworkers also said the cereal was stale. You have lots of potential but you should serve fresh doughnuts everyday. I was really excited when I brought them to the office but it was quite disappointing. Not trying to be rude but I thought I would let you guys know. I am in Houston for business, I had never been to Texas prior. The man that is hosting my Airbnb stay highly recommended this place for breakfast. I got their Peña's Donut Sandwich and it was one of the best things I've ever put into my mouth. They really excelled in combining sweet and savory. Very high quality breakfast and NOT VERY EXPENSIVE! I also got a strawberry iced donut that was delicious. On top of that, I was told I should try their Maple Bacon Donut and it was nothing short of phenomenal! It was also very sweet but yet quite savory. I did not dine inside so I cannot speak to the service or place itself but the food is amazing! Highly recommend for a sweet and savory, mouth watering breakfast. read more

Solid donut shop and diner. Maple bacon donut was good, but a bit expensive. Apple fritter was solid not great. Donut holes were very good. Tacos were large, the brisket was a tad dry, and the tortilla was hand made. The eggs benedict was above average and the hash browns were cooked nicely. It is an above average diner and donut shop, with friendly helpful staff. Would recommend and return. read more

Went in this morning for breakfast. They were jam packed. I ordered at 10am and we waited....and waited....and waited....10:55 I made an inquiry as to the location of our order. Was told by the manager that he thought my order was given away to another table. He apologized and said he was going to give me a full refund and my order would be put at the top of the rotation to be cooked. I got the refund and our food came out in minutes. I had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was fantastic but the waffles were cold. It did have a very nice presentation. I am willing to chalk this up to being packed, overwhelmed and a new business and staff. I'll be back, really want to give this place 5 Stars. read more

My wife found this place by chance looking for a new place to go for brunch. The place is a small diner with a few tables for outside dining under a canopy. We both ordered the Santa Fe Breakfast. Three New Mexico style enchiladas topped with two over medium eggs. It also has fried potatoes and refried beans as well. It's a meal that will not disappoint. It has since been our go to meal whenever we dine here. They're also know for their variety of donuts and a huge breakfast burrito. read more

Had the chicken n waffles n it was really good! The waffles r super soft n fluffy with a little chew to it, just how I like it. The chicken is crispy n moist n lightly seasoned. The syrup wasn't overly sweet either. Everything went perfectly together except for my husband. He was extremely upset because he came here for the eggs Benedict but the lady totally missed his order completely. We ordered 2 things, chicken waffles and eggs Benedict, how she could've missed it was mind blown to me. Are here for breakfast. It was easy to order and food came out quickly. They even deliver to your car if you want. I sat out on patio with my dog. My suggestion would be to post something about being dog friendly so others are aware. There were some very rude patrons that were extremely considered about my dog being there. It made for an uncomfortable experience until they left. read more

We stopped at Pena's after arriving at the Hobby Airport in Houston. It's super close and we were looking for mimosas lol. The staff was friendly and we were sat right away. We ordered Mimosas and Donuts to start off with. So good! The donuts were freshly baked and soft. We ordered the chicken and waffles for our entree and they were amazing. Made into little sandwiches which were really tasty. The chicken was nice and crispy and had really good flavor. I would definitely visit Pena's again. read more

Second time eating here but first time for lunch so we are trying the burgers, sandwiches and salads! Oh and the strawberry shake! I highly recommend this place for breakfast brunch and lunch. I've been coming here for years. On this trip I noticed the plate was dirty around the edge. It happens right? So I asked for another plate to move my pancakes. The replacement plate was dirty too. As I look at my pancakes I see something on top of them. Something that looked like a booger. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't but I wasn't gonna take that risk. I've had hair in my food at this location as well before. But I gave them another chance. Well, no more chances. I'm never eating here again read more

Want really bad service? Go to the drive thru on Saturday's around noon and pray you get the chick with the long black pony tail. She's rude, curt and incompetent. Repeated my order several times because she couldn't get it right. When we got to the window, she was even worse. There's better service to be had inside which I had on Friday morning, but homegirl just ruined it for me on Saturday. read more

So I do frequent here often because SnowFlake Donuts doesn't have Pecan coffee, however the owner needs to train the staff better. The staff is very young and inexperienced with customer service. I believe the par levels of owners items are low. How are you consistently out of the same items ? The food industry is simple supply and demand. Once the staff is better trained to not be rude, I may come back but I've bought my own Pecan coffee I will brew at home. And not be talked to through the mic rudely from a person that gets paid by customers who purchase their products. Always remember customers pay the bills. Food wise the kolaches are okay. The cheese in the middle is never melted. read more

It was ok. Pricing was right on point. Parking was easy. The cashier didn't know anything about the coffee or menu. Which is fine when there are new hires but she didn't want to ask anyone my questions either. I had to tell her to get someone to answer my questions. And the baker was out in family emergency so they had limited donuts. I drove 30min to try their speciality donuts so I was pretty bummed out. But over all it was ok. And this big guy walking around, I guess he was the boss, seemed to be a jerk to his employees. I didn't like how he ordered them around impolitely. read more

Great little diner. Donuts and more. Great service. Great coffee. Was in a hurry but enjoyed everything. 01/15/2017. Grand Opening celebration today. Thought we would attend. Had a cheeseburger, mimosas and a croughnut. Service was extremely hectic but with the Grand Opening crowd that had to be expected. Food? It was very good. My cheeseburger was placed between two nice fluffy buns with crisp lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. The beef was just a bit over cooked but had very good flavor. Not greasy. My fries were less desirable. Mainly because they were from the bottom of the barrel. The mimosa was average. The croughnut was sweet and fresh. If your near Pena's stop in and have lunch. This place is pretty good! I wouldn't say it's my top favorite place but the employees are great and the atmosphere is good. The que set up is a bit strange for me - like the menu can be read but the display case for the donuts typically are farther from where you're ordering so you don't really see it while you're ordering. At least that's been my experience. read more

Everytime I order from here, its nothing but great food! The kolache was so soft and wasn't grease filled at all considering it had chorizo! The coffee was really good it wasn't all overpowered with sweetness and was kinda strong. Everything was so good! read more

OMG so good !! Wife and I were truly blown away by this place ! The maple bacon donut is a MUST !! Also had the keto barbacoa plate, and the Ultimate southern chicken biscuit . Next we will try the donut sausage sandwich!! Texas pecan coffee is so good too. Great atmosphere. Food was so good we never got a pic ! read more

What a cute place for brunch! I'm not sure how I've missed this spot before now, it sits right off the Beltway at Pearland Parkway on the Southeast corner. We stopped in for a bite with friends and after a short 15 minute wait, were nicely accommodated for a group of 6 and a high chair. They serve Katz coffee - approved! And have a wide variety of fun menu options from Chicken & Waffles, Carnitas Hash, and a number of different Donut sandwiches... to Salads, Soups, and Burgers! We were in the mood for breakfast so after some tough decisions, settled on the Peña's Donut Sandwich - with fried egg, sausage patty & cheese, in between 2 glazed donuts! And a Eggs Benedict with hash browns (hollandaise on the side). AMAZING! Servings are huge with room to share and our entire table left satisfied with their experience. I can tell that the owners are putting a lot of attention and care in their establishment. The staff looks like a determined team aimed to succeed. Well done! If I had to be picky, minor improvements can be for the tables to be periodically wiped down and cleaned. There were a few wet spots and a finished tray of food, but perhaps the staff was just a bit busy at that point. The Earl Grey Matcha had a nice blend of earthy matcha with subtle floral notes, while the Double Matcha was sweet, creamy, and great if you enjoy pistachio-flavored matcha lattes. My only critique is that both drinks were a bit sweeter than I expected. As the ice melted, they became a little watered down, so I'd recommend drinking them before that happens or asking for less ice. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would come back to try more of their drinks.

I guess Peña's Donuts & Diner appearance and its location can make a wrong impression from what it really is. Their chicken is the best one I have ever tried. This is a real deal and I definitely knew it from the first sight at the grill. This establishment is full of smiles, friendly and polite staff and, of course, delicious food! Me and my husband love this place and visit it two times a month. I usually come over to take some for to go, but unfortunately they don't have any sitting area for those, who are waiting for the to-go-order to be ready. However, 5 stars! read more

The food is pretty good. Fairly expensive. The reason why I'm only giving them 3 stars is because I notice the cooks don't wear gloves. I saw the cook pick up my sandwich and placed it in the box with his bare hands from the grill... I also got a bag of donut holes. It was really hard and stale. It seems like it was probably made from the day before and they couldn't sell them so they saved them to resell the next day. For a place that makes gourmet donuts, I would've expected better quality donuts. read more

My favorite spot to grab some breakfast tacos during the week on my way to work. Their coffee is way better than the green place next door and I always bring some yummy donuts for my co-workers. On the weekends there are great options for brunch with good morning cocktails. Good way to recover from night before.
