I love the rancheros and tacos. The breakfast tacos have gotten more expensive recently, but they're also BIGGER. 3 used to be a normal breakfast with lunch at noon. Now 2 is enough to make it to mid afternoon. Also, all of the older pictures with the macaroons and that decor is from a previous owner. It's nothing like that now. read more

I unfortunately don't have any pictures from my last order here at Ashley's donuts (Wednesday 12/11/19). I placed a rather large order for my weekly work meeting. Ashley's donuts has always come through , never messed up an order and has always been consistent. Yelp members get 15% off too if you check in FYI haha. I have always enjoyed the small or large breakfast croissant (sausage or bacon with fried egg and cheese). Very fresh croissant (slightly flaky at that) and good portion size. I also ordered the jalapeño cheese kolaches which is not a bad thing either! Finish that off with some glazed donut holes and you have yourself a party! Ha. Donuts have always tasted fresh and never old. This place is definitely worth a try. I always order ahead and go through the drive through. However, I see a lot of people go into the establishment and sit down to eat. I think that might be the way to go if you have time. Great place to check out if your hungry in the morning. Ashley's donuts aren't very spectacular in fact her chocolate covered are bad and weird in taste shockingly, but her tacos are top tier. Tacos come stuffed with your choices they're the best in the area size and flavor wise. Restaurant is a typical donut shop decor isn't anything special. I was excited to stop by because of all the reviews and images of macaroons and great donuts but there wasn't any macaroons, the place seemed rundown, and the donut holes were plain glazed. Yes, there were some colorful donuts and some sandwiches but I was there for the macaroons and cute donut holes for my 2 year old. They only gave me the option of dozen or half dozen old greasy plastic donut holes like any other lame donut shop. Not sure why it took me so long to go here. Hubby goes here a lot to pick up breakfast for work, but for some reason we didn't go till just recently. I think he was trying to keep this little gem a secret! The breakfast tacos are huge and delicious! You can pick three ingredients for $2.99. I get bacon, egg and cheese because I'm boring like that. But man that's a damn good taco, or burrito really because these things are huge and stuffed with yum! And I admit, we also get donuts as well. Yes, I said donuts, as in two. One isn't enough, three is too many, so we get two a piece. Which is just the right amount of sweet after the taco. They usually have my favorite pink iced sprinkled donuts, but when they don't the white iced sprinkled will do in a pinch. Hubby always get chocolate frosted. He's boring like that. They are always fresh and soft and delicious. Plus, sprinkles! Our breakfast bill with the two huge tacos and four donuts run about $9.00. You can't beat that for friendly service, and delicious food. If I had a metabolism like hubby I would probably be here two.... or...*cough* seven times a week. read more

If your morning is in dire need of delicious kolaches and decent coffee, but you don't want to pay a Starbucks-style price, go to Ashley's. Ashley's Donuts has been in Clear Lake as long as I had lived there, and with it being just across the street from my old house, I have stopped here many times, and still do when I'm in the area! Ashley's is perhaps best known for their Hill Country kolaches, which are pretty big.. and best ordered (in my opinion) with jalapenos. They also serve donuts, pastries, bottled drinks and coffee. The coffee isn't great, but it's definitely drinkable. Not Dunkin', but you're not at Dunkin', duh. Ashley's Donuts has spacious seating inside, from the counter stools to small benches. There is also a drive-thru lane that gets majorly crowded during the morning rush. The prices are decent. Couldn't tell you by the item, but two Hill Country kolaches, two donuts and a large bottled milk ran me $7, which isn't bad at all. They're open by 5:00 a.m. weekdays. Go check it out if you haven't yet... there are lots of friendly regulars who dine in almost every morning. read more

I go here early morning about once a week. I sometimes get a jalapeno sausage croissant. Other times I get the larger jalapeno sausage kolach, a glazed donut, a glazed old fashioned doughnut or a sack of donut holes. Occasionally I break down and get their apple fritter, which must convert directly into a heart attack or diabetes. Their breakfast burrito (they call it a breakfast taco) is really good and very reasonably priced. But, it's a lot to eat so sometimes I get one for lunch. The problem with this is they quit making them a 11 o'clock, because they close at noon and 11's too early for me for lunch. The service is good and usually quick. The main server gal is stoic which comes off as unfriendly. The other two are more friendly -- one in particular. They have counter seating and a couple of booths, but the great majority of their business is take-out. Your tab has to be at least some amount ($3 maybe) for them to take a credit card. The times currently listed here on Yelp are correct. __ I've eaten out every meal for more than 25 years. read more

Having worked in this area for the past 3 years, I somehow missed this place until recently. I must say their breakfast burritos are HUGE! I had one yesterday and wow I was not even hungry at lunch time. For the price that you pay it is so worth your money. You get to pick 3 toppings for your burrito and any additional toppings added will be an additional 50 cents. I got a sausage, egg, cheese, and jalapeno burrito and man was it delish! My only complaint is that I am a salsa lover and they only give you one salsa for that massive burrito. If you would like an extra thing of salsa you will need to pay an additional 30 cents/salsa. I look forward to coming back here and trying new things because they also have these delicious looking donuts and kolaches. read more

After 6 years of traveling to Johnson Space Center every few months for work, I had never once made the effort to leave my hotel in the morning and seek out breakfast. Doing so is now one of my biggest life regrets. For ~$5.50, you can get ALL THREE of the titular breakfast options, and they're each exceptionally delicious. i love this place don't get me wrong the kolaches are good and the donuts are typically good but recently the iced donuts(the colored ones) with sprinkles have tasted bad. It's hard to describe but within the first bite i get a nail salon taste or alcohol taste from them. This has happened every time i get a colored iced donut and i'm disappointed. Their kolanches are yummy. Available in two sizes. Old-fashioned donuts with white icing give me life. I mean, words cannot express how delicious these are. Apple fritters are huge and delish as well. And alllll available with a drive-thru window and friendly employees, I mean, what more can you ask for? Adorable donut shop. Love the eat-in diner style bar. It's very comfortable hanging out and enjoying your breakfast here. Their cinnamon sugar cake donuts are DELICIOUS. Definitely the best I've had in recent memory. Perfectly dense without being heavy. The cake donut batter is perfection, not dependent on toppings for flavor. The eclairs are pretty good, the cinnamon twists are huge. I'm still looking forward to trying an apple fritter, but they've been out of them on the last two visits. The kolaches are the cheapest in the area and quite tasty to boot! The dough is among the best tasting I've had in a kolache, but the use of the same cheap links that every other place uses can't put Ashley's into my top donut shops. They also offer sausage biscuits and ranchero kolaches, but I can't attest to the quality of either. read more

This place is amazing. They have a great selection of kolaches, biscuit and croissant sandwiches and tacos to accompany their huge array of fresh donuts. The best thing about this place, though, is you're always smiled at when you walk through the door and the service is attentive and excellent. They can get pretty busy on weekend mornings but the girls behind the counter keep things moving while still being friendly. It truly does feel like a neighborhood donut shop. There's nothing better than sitting at the window at one of their tables, sipping a coffee with my wife while we talk about our plans for the day and watch the flow of customers going in and out. read more

I've been in search of good donuts since moving to the area. This location has very mediocre donuts. They lack flavor and freshness. It's almost like they are trucked in. I've had better donuts from a vending machine. It's says a lot when even my kids complain they don't like the donuts.
