She came to our home to help us say goodbye to out sweet Lola and, not long after, our Dexter boy, two of the hardest days of my life. My heart truly goes out to anyone who finds themselves needing this kind of service, sending you love. Dr. Ivey was incredibly gentle, patient, and deeply empathetic. She gave us the time and space we needed to be fully present with our babies, to hold them, love on them, and say our goodbyes without ever feeling rushed. During such a sad time when the decision has been made to put a loved pet/for family member down, Dr. Evelyn makes it a little more than tolerable because of her great bedside manner. She explained the process and it went exactly as explained. She did not rush the process either as I cried into my cats fur and told him how much I loved him forever and ever and ever. She really listened as I rambled on and began to cry as I made the appointment. I write this review with a broken heart, but I am compelled to share my experience with Dr. Ivey. I lost my sweetie pie, 13 year old Lulu, to bladder cancer just a few days ago. I had already realized that my dog's quality of life was declining and called Dr. Ivey to schedule her visit. Unfortunately, my dog's condition quickly worsened and I knew her time had come. I let Dr. Ivey know about the change, and we were so lucky that she was able to schedule us for the very next day. I can't say enough about Dr. Ivey - she talked with me on the phone a couple of times, because after the first time, I second-guessed myself and needed more reassurance that I was doing the right thing. She was so compassionate and comforting, and helped me make a very difficult decision. She made it clear that if for any reason we changed our mind, or if our kitty's condition turned around, there would be no problem changing our plans. That didn't happen, but it was very reassuring to know that there would be no pressure if for some reason we had any remaining doubts. When the day came to euthanize our 17-year-old kitty, she made the process as good as it possibly could have been, considering the circumstances. Our cat had no anxiety and got to be in her favorite place, with the people who loved her, which was exactly what we wanted for her. Extremely difficult to let my almost 18 year old orange tabby, Tiger, go due to late state kidney disease. However, Dr.Ivey made the experience as seamless and kind as possible. If it had to be done, I'd take this route any time. She even delicately trimmed a lock of his hair and placed it in a tiny bottle, which I hold near and dear. Working with the partnered Heaven's Gate memorial center was very nice, in the most bitter sweet way. They called me right away when my guy was ready, and when I picked him up they included a remembrance candle and a necklace-a gem of a moment in the darkness. About a week later, I received a condolence card from Dr.Ivey-and I can't say enough how heartfelt she is. 100% recommend. My 16 year old cat, Antonio, suddenly became ill and within a few days and a few tests, he was no longer walking and barely eating.
