Dr.Ivey came to the rescue last minute when it was clear my 10 year old dog was suffering. Her compassion, care, and patience made her transition over the rainbow bridge so peaceful. An absolute angel saint in our moment of grief. Thank you Dr. Ivey!

Will always love Mr. Sprig!! You will be missed. RIP buddy...

An amazing Vet. Dr. Ivy was compassionate and caring. Respectful of our grieving and made the process as easy as could be all things considered. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Ivey was so amazing and compassionate when we had to say goodbye to our sweet cat, Morey. She was able to accommodate me for a same day appointment and made the process so much easier. We also received a beautiful card which was so personal and sweet. Thank you, Dr. Ivey!

My little Stella. Rest in Peace (September 2006-June 2021). I love you.

I called Peace for Pets when I had to make the difficult decision to euthanize my beautiful 15-year-old calico cat, Stella in June 2021. I was heartbroken as I made the call. However, after speaking with Dr. Evelyn Ivey, it felt like I had spoken to an angel. Her voice was soothing, calm, and she listened. She really listened as I rambled on and began to cry as I made the appointment. When she arrived the next day, there was a calmness surrounding her that instantly made me feel better regarding what I was about to do. She made certain everything was about Stella and making this experience as palatable as possible. I decided to brush Stella to keep her calm. It worked. And because Dr. Ivey's energy was so soothing and peaceful, Stella didn't even notice that she was present in the room. The injection for sedation was administered without the need of a local. Again, Dr. Ivey acted quickly, but quietly. No sudden moves to startle Stella. I so appreciated that. And finally, the medication was administered to stop Stella's heart. The entire process was no longer than 5 minutes, if that. I'm certain Stella's last memory was of me brushing her and loving her. I'm so very grateful for Dr. Ivey's compassion, professionalism, and that she genuinely cared about Stella and me. I felt it. Her follow-up phone call and the lovely card I received was totally unexpected but so much appreciated. Please don't hesitate to call Peace for Pets. Dr. Ivey is an angel on Earth.

It has taken me a while to write this review. I as I am still grieving the loss my Emma. I had found Dr. Ivey's website and had her number in my phone for at least 2 weeks. I knew calling her would mean my last days with my dog Emma were coming. I woke up on Sunday 9/13/21 and Emma wasnt well. I knew it was time. I called Dr. Ivey and we talk about the situation. She was so kind, and compassionate. I had been through a lot leading up to this day. I had recently lost my brother and mother. And know I was going to also lose my best friend of 15 years was heart wrenching. I asked Dr. Ivey for a few more hours with Emma. Dr. Ivey came that afternoon. She was compliant all with the COVID restrictions and guidelines. We went into the backyard and she explained everything and told me to take my time and didnt rush me saying goodbye to my best friend. I laid on Emma's dog bed with her, my arms wrapped tight around her. Dr. Ivey explained each step. She is just so kind, loving and compassionate. My heart was broken and Emma was now in heaven with my brother and mother. I wanted to hug Dr. Ivey so badly. I was so appreciative that she let my sweet girl go peacefully with me by her side. At the end Dr. Ivey told me to take my time with Emma. And Dr. Ivey gave me an air hug which I needed in that moment. Than you so much for being so an amazing person and Doctor. I am beyond grateful for what you gave us that day, which was kindness, love, compassion and peace. I will always have a place for you in my heart for making one of the worst days of my life, less stressful for Emma and myself and for the all the love I felt during that sad moment.

But after day 2, I decided to bring Aspen in to see what was going on. Aspen had an issue with frequent urination, and the inability to hold it in. Prior blood tests came back normal, so we monitored him closer for the next few months. Fast forward to November 2025, his visit to Loomis Basin vet clinic revealed that he was having internal issues that were likely not going to be solved. I was unaware how severe his condition had become. The vet had suggested that if Aspen did not drastically improve with his eating, it may be time to put him down. For the next few days we gave him prescribed medication for nausea, etc, and tried everything we could to get him to eat. On 11/25, we had to make the awful decision to put him down via euthanasia. He had completely stopped eating, lost a significant amount of weight, and appeared very lethargic. While this was a horrible experience for our family, VCA Loomis Basin was very helpful and supportive throughout the process. Dr. Kaiser and Dr. Mueller even sent me a hand written card expressing their sympathy. They were extremely kind and caring to us, and we will never forget the way we were treated and supported during this. My friend of 10 years passed away in my arms, and the staff made it very comfortable for us. The clinic also works with a company that has great cremation products - and now I get to bring Aspen with me everywhere I go! Thank you Dr. Mueller and Dr. Kaiser.

He called this one and we were told they could do an x-ray and endoscopy to remove the floss. It was a very foggy night, but we read the dangers of floss making it into the intestinal track and was very worried, so we drove 1.25 hours to go to this vet under the assumption that the floss would be removed so we would not have to take the chance of my cat dying. Well when we got there they told us they were going to try to make her throw up to get the floss out. It took them two hours to give meds and of spinning my poor cat in a chair just to come and tell us she did not throw up, we will have to go home and come back at 6am for the doctor to arrive. By the time this whole nightmare was over at 6am the floss would have already reached my cats intestinal track so at 6 am they couldn't even preform the endoscopy. They basically lied to us to tell us to come in and they could x-ray and preform the endoscopy. My husband and I put our lives at risk to drive 1 hour and 15 minutes on one of the most foggy nights I have ever seen because we were told they could do the endoscopy when we arrived! If we had to wait till 6am we could have just gone to a local vet. I am so disgusted by this place that calls themselves emergency veterinary office. What a joke! Read what can happen if your cat eats floss, tell me if you would be worried and want an emergency veterinary to look at your baby too. Hugh waste of our time and money, not to mention the fact that we told them how far we were coming and they knew how foggy it was. Oh and the vet told us to drive erratically on the way home in hopes of getting the cat to throw up in the car! SMFH

The facility is beautiful, and Dr. Petra Stoyanof is amazing, I mean really amazing! She took extra time to understand my kitties history during my new patient exam and is very kind, gentle and top-notch knowledgeable. Every single staff member from the front desk to the technicians and veterinarians were amazing and kind. Also, the moment I walked in the door for the very first time, it felt like I had been going there for years. It truly feels like family versus a large Veterinary Clinic like VCA Loomis Basin. I am so very happy now and stress free! I am transferring all four of my kitties from VCA to Penryn Pet now. Many thanks to Penryn Pet for providing such a caring environment, great staff and a very, very beautiful and clean facility. It's top-notch all the way! BTW, I love the beautiful and large waiting area. It's very spacious, so you won't have to sit with your scared little kitty right next to someone that has a barking dog! I love that! He is compassionate, thorough, and genuinely cares about his patients. I've also had good experiences with one or two staff members, but unfortunately my interactions with much of the rest of the staff have been disappointing. My dog, Bodhi, had surgery at RAMC in July 2025 to remove several lumps. During surgery, Dr. Singh found another lump within the same incision site, removed it, and didn't charge me for the additional removal. I truly appreciated his thoughtfulness and care. At Bodhi's bandage removal appointment, a younger male technician handled the visit. I asked to stay with my dog, and he agreed. The bandage was adhered tightly, and although he initially used adhesive remover, he quickly became impatient and began ripping the bandage off. Bodhi was clearly uncomfortable, and I left wondering how he would have been treated if I hadn't been present. I returned in September 2025 for another FNA, and once again Dr. Singh was excellent. In early June, Bodhi needed another FNA. Because of my previous experience, I requested that the same technician not handle my dog. Dr. Singh understood my concerns and was very reassuring. A week later, Bodhi was diagnosed with lymphoma. After discussing my options, I initially considered less invasive treatment before deciding on palliative care. Dr. Singh had advised me to stop Apoquel because lymphoma was suspected, so Bodhi spent nearly two weeks suffering from severe itching while I weighed my options. I contacted the office to ask about Laverdia, an oral chemotherapy medication. I was told they had spoken with Dr. Singh, ordered the medication, and would contact me when it arrived. They also recommended seeing an oncologist, which was difficult because appointments and callbacks took several days. I never received a follow-up. After six days, I reached back out because I had no choice but to start Bodhi on prednisone due to his worsening itching and enlarging lymph nodes. In that same email, I also requested refills for his prednisone and gabapentin since I was only given a 22 day supply. Again, I received no response. Maybe they eventually would have answered if I had continued calling or emailing, but by then I had lost confidence in the staff. I was left wondering whether I would have made different treatment decisions had someone simply followed through with the communication they promised. Aside from one longtime veterinary technician, I also found the front desk staff to be cold during one of the hardest moments of my life. I wasn't expecting sympathy, but a few kind words would have meant a great deal. Dr. Singh is the reason this review is three stars instead of one. He treated Bodhi with compassion and treated me with empathy throughout this difficult process. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and follow-through from the rest of the staff overshadowed an otherwise positive experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt this one was important. When a family is facing the loss of a beloved pet, timely communication matters. I hope this feedback encourages RAMC to improve so other families don't experience the same frustration during such a difficult time.

The reviews here seem to be glowingly positive and I wanted to support a local business. Sadly, I was greatly disappointed. My concerns and reason for visit were consistently not taken seriously. For example, when I brought my pet in with upper respiratory issues, I was told "it's not that bad." Well, if ignored, it is actually /is/ that bad. Repeatedly, I sensed a hesitancy to treat my pets' issues proactively, and found the bedside manner here to be sorely lacking. I brought in my pet with symptoms consistent with an upper respiratory infection. Instead of any antibiotics, I was prescribed steroids and an inhaler, which were consistently ineffective. Unfortunately, I allowed this to go on for far too long at this vet and should have listened to my instincts. Three months into this treatment (still without antibiotics), I was told that since my pet didn't respond to steroids, "it's probably cancer" and told to get in with a specialist asap (and that it would be many thousands of dollars). I'll admit I do not have a PhD, but this doesn't seem like very scientific diagnostic criteria to leap to cancer. I fully acknowledge that the realm of veterinary medicine is vast and we still don't know that much about the body in the grand scheme of things, but being consistently ignored and then leaping directly to cancer seems like a stretch. I sought a second opinion at my previous vet, who agreed that leaping to cancer without diagnostics was kind of cruel to my mental health. They promptly issued antibiotics. I also scheduled an appointment with internal medicine elsewhere out of fear from hearing the "cancer" word thrown around. Sure enough, there was a bacterial infection that should have been treated with antibiotics. Due to the delays and not prescribing an antibiotic, the bacterial infection was allowed to go on far too long, resulting in bony destruction. Despite the vet claiming I needed to urgently get my pet in with internal medicine, we still experienced lengthy delays getting copies of my pet's medical records--unfortunately, many internal medicine specialists will not schedule an appointment with you until they've received the records from the prior vet, which just led to further delays. The poor communication, poor attitude, and poor bedside manner further tanked my opinion of my experiences here. Dropping the "cancer" bomb on me with no diagnostics--rude and poorly handled, honestly. I also felt like there was a consistent attitude against me wanting to see the pricing before agreeing to treatment. It should be noted that I agreed to the treatments, however, we all know that in the veterinary and medical world, sometimes there's sticker shock when you see the price. I'd prefer transparency. Asking to see the pricing before committing to expensive treatment seemed to earn quite a few huffs and puffs from staff and the doctor. Overall, my biggest lesson learned here is to get a second opinion, particularly when the symptoms are downplayed for far too long and then the diagnosis suddenly leaps from "asthma" to "cancer." Trust your gut. This is just one example (definitely the most expensive) of my experiences here, but they were consistent enough for me to feel that this was a pattern.

They were unwilling to fill my appointment in a timely manner and had given me an option to reschedule. Based on the sanitation, unprofessionalism, and inability to make up for their staff errors, I would not recommend this place. You are better off going to a place with more personal, courteous care.

From my experience, it felt like they cared more about collecting payment than actually helping my pet or keeping me INFORMED. First, I waited roughly 15-30 minutes in the lobby, then another 15-30 minutes sitting in the exam room. After all that waiting, I paid hundreds of dollars for a visit, a fecal test, and multiple medications that have not improved my kitten's condition at all. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of communication. I was told the doctor would call me with the fecal test results on Monday. (I went on Friday) Monday came and went. Tuesday came and went. It is now Wednesday, and despite me calling the clinic myself to remind them that nobody had contacted me, I STILL have not received a call from the doctor. How do you charge someone nearly $300, run tests, promise results, and then never follow up? My kitten was sick, and I was left waiting for days with no answers. On top of that, one of the staff members with blue hair was not friendly or welcoming at all. When you're already stressed about a sick pet and spending a lot of money, the last thing you need is poor customer service. I came here looking for help for my kitten.
