I went here earlier today for the first time since people from work order from here once. The food is expensive and everything is add on sides drinks chips is extra no combo or anything for lunch. So now let's get to the actual taste of the food, first off the lady bringing the food to the table spilled gravy for my husband sandwich all over the table and all over my husband new shirt that I bought him for Christmas and yes it was white with brown stains all over it now ruined didn't even wear it a couple of hours the shirt cost more than the meal did. She didn't even apologize first she said did it get on you I was like really it's brown gravy all over the table and all over his shirt then she preceded to say it will come out if you spray it.... ARE YOU SERIOUS???? So now we have our food sandwich she brought him was incorrect then said I don't know why you have this one another lady brought it out while she was still giving us our food so she must grabbed wrong item. So sandwiches were tiny and not a lot of flavor for the price and chicken and dumpling soup of day was absolutely disgusting no flavor what so ever you could get more flavor out of a can soup. Only reason I gave 3 stars because we tried 3 desserts and they were all great. If I need something sweet I would stop by but they are way better places to eat Downtown Kinston read more

Super nice folks. Great selection of sandwhiches. I ate here with a group of people from work, everybody had something different, and everyone really liked what they had. We took over a room upstairs so we wouldn't bother anyone else, and the staff were super-accommodating. Very, very fresh ingredients, the roast beef in my French Dip was extremely tender and perfectly cooked. Even free wi-fi. Nice atmosphere in a nicely restored old house. Kind of a hidden gem; I'll definitely go back when in town. read more

This was such a great place for lunch. We had amazing sandwiches and yummy salads. My kids said this food is so yummy! The cookies were very good as well! I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants some great food! I would go all the time except we were just driving through. The staff was also super friendly and helpful! read more

This is a great place to get a quick sandwich, quiche, or some hot soup The food is always good and fresh. . The atmosphere is quaint, that of an old southern house. Lighting can be a little dark at times. They do take reservations for small groups and have nice private rooms upstairs. read more

This is my favorite place to get lunch from during the work week! My favorite dish is the twice baked red potatoes that is normally on special on Thursday and sometimes Fridays. I also enjoy their club sandwiches, pesto pasta salad and their fudge which is probably the best fudge if ever had in my life. I recently have gotten my boyfriend hooked to peach house as well. He lovesss the cordon bleu panini and the fresh fruit. read more

Perfect spot for lunch, I adore the pasta salad, the seven layer salad and several of the sandwhiches but it's the SWEETS you come for, try them all you won't be disappointed! Fabulous food. You walk into what you think is an older house and tables are squirreled everywhere. You place your order and find a table and go to get your own beverage. The food cane out piping hot. I had a Turkey Bacon Pesto panini wrap with a fresh dill pickle. My companion had a Spinach Onion Quiche with fresh fruit. Very good although the crust was not homemade. The fruit was a great variety with oranges, grapes, kiwi, and melon. All were ripe and sweet. The only downside is that the silverware is plastic and the plates paper. The food, however, is just delicious. The desserts looked great and homemade, but we passed on dessert. Go if you can. You will enjoy it. read more

This place is super cute and everyone that works there is very friendly. I really wanted to like the place. Unfortunately, my food was not very good. I had the tuna melt which was ok, and the broccoli cheese soup which was simply awful - watery and bland. Perhaps it was just an off day? The desserts looked really good. read more

Good to see nice reviews on this place. I have been eating here for awhile and I am generly pleased when I go. They have a good variety and the food is always good. Love the little house but I usually order take-out since there isn't that much seating. I always order the egg salad it is my favorite. They have really great desserts as well. If you have never been, definatley check it out sometime. read more
