In addition, (and most impressive), they installed hardwood stairs and landings and were able to match the stain to the vinyl floors perfectly! It all came out better than I ever expected. The job was done as promised and on time and the whole team was friendly and efficient at ensuring we were happy. George was amazing at helping with product selection. Joyce's level of communication and friendliness was top notch. Last but definitely not least, Marcus was incredible working on site each day making sure everything was perfect. If you value your time, money, home, and peace of mind, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The work on our floors and dry wall required multiple return visits. After the second flooring visit, we told them the floor was still uneven and that the vinyl continued to pop up. On the third visit, a team member stepped on the area that was popping up and said, "There's nothing wrong!" After we insisted they open the floor, we discovered that cardboard packaging from the vinyl floor boards had been used underneath the floor to address the leveling issue... When we finally thought the flooring was finished, another problem surfaced. The trim at the top of our staircase that had been installed only about two weeks earlier came loose, and I fell down the stairs as a result. We then discovered that our replacement dry wall was visibly uneven and not flush with the existing wall. Even after their team came back to work on it, the transition was still not flush, if not worse! Regardless of whether subcontractors were involved, we hired Into The Woods to ensure the work was completed properly and ultimately hold them responsible. On top of having to repeatedly identify problems that should have been caught through proper supervision and quality control, the most frustrating part has been communicating with Into the Woods direct team members, especially their owner, Shamus. We constantly felt like our concerns were minimized and dismissed. Even if the work had been perfect, the interactions with the company throughout this entire process made us wish we never signed anything with them.

My friend had referred James to me after the great job he did at her house. I called him in March for a flooring project in my house that I had just closed on. He was very prompt, showed up the next day to give me a quote. At first I only wanted to refinish the floors, but after his advice, I decided to install hardwood in my master bedroom and closet, in addition to the refinish. Therefore another week passed for the owner to come out to our house to view the defects and make a claim. Then he ordered another carpet, there went another week, once brought out to my house it too was defective. So we had to wait another almost week in order for them to get yet another carpet. After 3 weeks fighting with this company they only want to offer me 325.00 credit. I'd already paid 1/2 the amount of 1800+ dollars. We had to wait 3 weeks to place our home on the market due to their incompetence and possibly miss several offers or even a sale. I wouldn't do business with this company ever. Their product is low grade. Their 325.00 credit is an insult.

One of my final projects was to replace my unsightly hardwood and tile floors with LVP. I got several quotes from small and large companies; some who made the job seem like it would be impossible because my house was old and had its issues. Every company that came, pointed out a slant in the floor, a dent, or patch of missing hardwood- all of which would increase the cost of the final project. Some companies also required me to hire someone else to move all the furniture out of my home first. When Alex from Oakerds came out he did a thorough inspection of the job and gave me a price that was lower than most other companies. I was shocked at how smooth the estimate went. He quickly problem-solved each of the problem areas in my home and didn't make a big deal about how each issue would increase the price. He simply gave me a fair quote and explained my options. The most surprising part is that he encouraged me to check out offers from other companies and let him know how Oakerds could "earn my business!" This was a stark difference from the other companies who tried to pressure me into making a decision on the spot. I somehow stumbled upon 1st Quality Flooring. I initially spoke with David and then was put in touch with the Project Manager, Wallison, who I can't say enough good things about. Wallison came to my house the same day and was able to start working a few days later. Not only was Wallison happy to answer all of my questions but he was very helpful in picking up and delivering the materials as well helping me save money. The final price I paid for the laminate and tile install was more than reasonable and the quality of the work is superior. After agreeing to go with their company on Friday, they started the flooring the following Tuesday and finished it the next day (Wednesday). They communicated clearly, were responsive to our questions, and were very professional. The LVT they recommended was commercial grade which was much thicker and sturdier than what we previously had. The quote they gave was comparable to others but the reason we chose them was they noticed that there was a concern about our existing floor not being level which they planned to address during their install. Our new floors look and feel great! We would highly recommend Michael and his team!
