A letdown. The hash browns were dark and hard. After I sent them back they came back just as dark with a look of having just been removed from a deep fryer. Expensive for no reason. It's a diner with decor. I've given this place enough tries and enough money. The last time I took my mother ( her doctor is around the corner) and my wife. We each had a wrap, and a drink. My wife and I had a sundae and a coffee. The bill was over $90 with the tip. I can forgive the price if the service and presentation is notable. It was not busy so we were seated quickly. The table was freshly wiped down with a wet towel and never dried. The menus actually stuck to the table from the moisture. I took my daughter there for lunch recently. I ordered an omelete and my daughter ordered pancakes and bacon. She ordered a small apple juice as well and I had water to drink. The omelet was overcooked and dry. The potatoes were overcooked as well. My daughter said that her mother's pancakes were better than those. Our bill was 29 and change. 14 dollars for an omelet? First time I went in for dinner I had a california chicken sandwich, which wasn't bad. Service was ok. We decided to go in for breakfast since it seemed like it would be an ideal place for it...I was totally disappointed. This is the second time I've been here for breakfast and all the food was pretty standard...it actually might have been cheaper and better at a diner with no identity issues. We went on black friday around 10am and there wasn't a wait HOWEVER--we were slow to get seated even though wait staff walked passed us several times without seating us...UGH. We ordered strawberries and cream french toast to share, I had an omelet with tomato, spinach and onion and my fiancee had egg white scramble with bacon and an english muffin. The omelet was under seasoned but standard. The food was just overall "eh" Decor as mentioned in previous reviews is very warm--the lighting is a lot better than diners. I would say the only thing that makes it more a cafe is the sweets section. I looked at the dessert section and they have lots of good desserts (too full to order any though) and they have a wide variety of teas. Why all the bashing people? I really like this place, first time here for breakfast and I thought it was pretty damn good. We didn't have a problem with the wait staff at all, in fact they were quite nice. They gave us their only "window" seat in the restaurant. I ordered the eggs Benedict, with a coffee. Wife order pancakes with fresh bananas on top. Usually they put the bananas in the batter and cook them all together but they were happy to prepare them the way she wanted them. Food came out and looked good, hot and fresh. I was little worried about the hollandaise sauce because it looked a little thin but after tasting it with the poach egg, Canadian bacon and toasted English muffin it was perfect. The home fries were really good also, lots of herbs. Wife thoroughly enjoyed her pancakes I had a taste and they were good. This is my favorite breakfast and lunch place in Albany! Yum! The pancakes are delicious. Everything I order is always great. Today I got the Cesar salad. Love the tea selection and especially the dessert selection. The prices are great. The staff were friendly this time :) and the service was quick. One thing I'd change is someone really needs to run the vacuum and clean up the floor more often somehow! Came here last week with my family for a quick bite to eat. It was a Thursday night and it was relatively quiet. It took a long time for our food to come out and when it did it was good but not very flavorful. I have been here before during the lunch rush and the order came out quicker and was tastier. The food here is the saving grace. You can have breakfast all morning and afternoon. The sandwiches and salads are good, too. The desserts look amazing, but sadly I've never tried them. The first time I came, I tried to surprise my friend for her birthday by arranging a surprise dessert to come to the table. Although I explained to the waitress that it was a surprise and no matter what my friend said, to bring something for dessert for her birthday, she completely misunderstood and we didn't get our dessert. This time, I would have ordered one to go, but it wasn't even offered to us. This is where the service really spoiled our experience. I waited 10 minutes at my table, and had to flag down a waitress (not even assigned to my table) for waters. When I flagged down a second one, I was told that she was our waitress. She didn't even seem apologetic for not greeting us or taking notice. I would normally say that the lunchtime rush is a busy time and I understand that she had a lot of customers (having been a waitress myself). But when I had to track her down to get my check, my waitress and two other servers were chitchatting behind the counter, even eating food. How nice of you to be able to serve yourself. How about paying attention to your tables?!? And the one bathroom in the place had NO toilet paper. Classy. read more

I went tonight and asked to see a menu to decide if I wanted to eat here or not. As I'm looking it over I hear one of the servers ask "do we have a fire extinguisher?" First sign of a bad business is when your help doesn't know if there's a fire extinguisher. One of the other servers replies that they do have one somewhere but they can't use it for some reason so instead just use flour. Second sign of a bad business is when they start throwing flour on a grease fire. Google what happens when you do that. Spoiler: fiery explosions. My boyfriend advised them to call the fire department but the head server insisted that she needed to call the owner instead. This place is a joke. I hope the fire department showed up and they got fined. Everyone that worked there was just running around without actually doing anything. Maybe have a plan next time, Peaches. I've been enjoying Peaches for years. Breakfast is Awesome! I'm a Pancake, Waffle & French Toast girl & have enjoyed various versions of all of these at Peaches. The real maple syrup is wonderful! The lunch menu has some interesting sandwiches that have tempted me away from my typical Chicken Sandwich/Salad Choices. My husband always enjoys the Western & Southwest Fritatta's for Breakfast & he LOVES The Turkey Ruben! My children are welcome & always look forward to going. I love the sweet potato fries. (for you mom's out there I feel they're a little more nutritious than the standard fries) I'm looking forward to the fall as this is one place I can get consistent and tasty soups. The Deserts are amazing... I'm partial to the Hazelnut mousse desert & the chocolate layer cake. My kids love the ice cream! The food is consistent, the service is great! read more

Nice little place in a large shopping center upstate. I was a little mad when I ordered a frappe and was given what tasted like a milk shake! This was their version of a frappe so they say. My wife had a cappuchino which was good and the dessert cakes were good too. I've had better since I like in the boroughs so it's hard to compare but when you're desperate this was ok. I was hoping to have a better review given some friends who had dined here several years ago and highly recommending it. Unfortunately our experience with the food was not great. The staff however was excellent and very attentive. We ordered French onion soup, it was lukewarm at best and not very flavorful. The cheese was barely melted. Considering the cost I was expecting a lot better. I got a bacon scallion quiche with a side salad. Maybe I'm a foodie who expected quiche to be baked in an oven. This was clearly microwave cooked as parts of the crust were raw while other parts had that weird burned effect that microwaves do. The egg part had that strange spongey effect ...I'll stop there. The blue cheese dressing on my salad tasted like it came out of a big plastic type container. My sons Mac and cheese also lukewarm and made with some type of prepared cheese spread (ie more vegetable oil like base). My husbands nachos looked good but even he felt the taste was off likely the same cheese spread stuff. I do imagine that this place may be good for breakfast and sandwiches as people sitting next to us did order waffles and pancakes and seemed very happy. Our experience just was not good. read more

We used to like Peaches, but last night's dinner will be our last. While I zipped over to pick up a card at another shop, I asked my husband to just order me a half a tuna sandwich and chicken noodle soup. The soup was congealed and inedible. The waitress said it was suppose to be that way. She said that she'd not charge for the soup. The real problem was that a half tuna sandwich and soup cost $11.50.
