Peaches has maintained a three-star worthy existence in Albany over the years. The food is alright but not amazing, as is the service. They offer a range of breakfast and sandwich options, but nothing so complicated that you couldn't easily make it at home. They do offer a beautiful array of desserts, and a nice atmosphere for dining. tldr: if you're living in Albany you can't really be picky. the booth in the very back has weird interrogation lighting. read more

Nestled within the multitude of shops and restaurants of Stuyvesant Plaza is Peaches Cafe. When my wife and I lived in Albany and we weren't too concerned with our nutritional habits, we were enthralled by the amazing desert selection that Peaches boast is home made. If it were possible to judge the deserts alone, I'd give them at least four stars. Unfortunately the service isn't the most efficient or speedy and that's why they received this sub-par rating. The breakfast/lunch menu that was available to my wife and I that day had a wonderful variety of choices from a lot of delicious sounds omelets to some signature dishes that are in fact very delicious. We've been to Peaches numerous times over the years and the kitchen has always put out steady, quality food. However, between the insufficient amount of wait staff for the seating capacity and the lack of speed in which "every day food" is delivered, please don't plan on an average timed meal, you may miss your next appointment. read more

Peaches Cafe reminds me of a diner or a family restaurant. Nothing special about the decor, but a nice size menu. I came at a busy time and was seated immediately. From start to finish it was within an hour. I ordered the Portabella Brie Burger. This burger was excellent. Fresh meat cooked to your liking, grilled fresh portabella mushrooms with oozing brie cheese coming down the sides of a soft potato bread bun. This dish comes with a side of crispy (not burnt) sweet potato fries. They did not have Ranch dressing so they offered me a Creamy Peppercorn Parm dressing that I used a dipping sauce and also put on the hamburger. I was passing through and the hotel front desk recommended this place for a quick local place to eat. Peaches is a good place to go if you are watching your pennies. This place has wonderful food at reasonable prices, and is always crowded. We came in at around 10:30 on a Saturday and it was packed in both rooms. Service was very quick and remembers everything that you requested. Decor is basic, very interesting, with weird ladders on the ceilings. The menu is very interesting. The pricing is quite reasonable for the portion sizes. I had ordered the strawberry 'n cream waffles and they were amazing. The pancakes are rich in flavor and have a good appearance. My husband and I and our one year old visited Albany this past weekend and ate there three times in two days as it was so good. It's like a little french bistro in the middle of a strip mall. This beats any chain, hands down. The food was completely fresh, well prepared, and completely delicious. The standouts were the chicken wrap special and the Tres Leches cake. I visited Peashes Café for dinner on Jan 10, 2018 I ordered Chicken Piccata, my partner ordered an Omelette. My dish was awful, obviously microwaved. Several hard stringy breaded pieces of chicken breast, covered in capers and caper pickle juice, a few pieces of limp broccoli that tasted only like caper juice, and a scoop of rice I wouldn't feed my dog. It seemed like a plate of cold precooked food was shoved in the microwave. Never again for me. I did not try my partners Omelette, but it looked dry and overdone. She did not finish it. I did not complain to the waitress, because who knows what would happen in the kitchen. A 'Chef' who would let food like that served, can't be trusted. Nice to find a place for lunch where you sit at your table while waiting for your food to be served. Food is not the greatest but still good. Most sandwiches are in the $10-15 ranges which is expensive. Owner must be making good money. I hope the employees do as well. read more

My Mom and I had lunch at Peaches Cafe on Thursday, 11/2. It was very crowded but we were seated right away. My Mom uses a walker and it's somewhat difficult for her to navigate small spaces but she had no problem at all getting in and around the cafe. Our waitress was very attentive and gave excellent suggestions about lunch and beverage selections. We shared a bowl of the pumpkin bisque soup which was incredible and followed it with grilled veggie sandwiches. Our meals were quickly delivered. The food was amazing and portions were large - we both took half home! All in all, we had a delightful lunch! We cannot wait to return! read more

Absolutely love it here. They aren't very fast, and that's because they're usually packed full, but it's so worth the wait. They make their orange juice fresh squeezed and have a massive selection of Italian sodas. Nothing beats the breakfast waffle on my opinion. There was a lot of hype about Peaches Cafe, so I decided to check it out myself. The atmosphere is very inviting, although a bit crowded. I came here with a friend who is vegetarian and I was a disappointed at the lack of vegetarian options for her. Her choices consisted of either toast or English muffin. I ordered the Peaches and Creme Belgian waffle, which is the Cafe's signature item and it was delicious. However, I don't think there's a difference between Peaches' Belgian waffle and any other Belgian waffle you could get at a diner. The coffee was good. Chocolate milk, on the other hand, was very watery and barely tasted chocolate-y. The biggest reason I gave a 2 star review is the price. Peaches Cafe is very expensive, so if you don't mind paying extra, then I say go for it. If you are like me and like to get your money's worth, then try a different cafe or diner. read more

Peaches is a nice little place that has good food, coffee and a nice staff. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and side of home fries. The home fries are very crispy, some people might say they are over cooked but I personally love them like that. The chocolate chip pancakes are not the biggest pan cakes but they are loaded with chocolate. If you love chocolate you would love these pancakes. Once I was overcharged on purpose. Lady clearly knew what she was doing and wound up having to take $20 off the bill. I didn't return for two years. Today, I decided that that was a bad waitress and that didn't mean everyone there lacked integrity...Wrong! I entered a empty diner with my child, waitress appears and I say, "hello, two please", she replies, "you two"? Huh, so I keep cool her eyes told me a story. She then tries to sit us in the corner where we can't be seen and I mean the restaurant was Empty, just US!! "Everyone likes to sit here because of the view" lmao, girl please, go ahead with that back of the bus rehearsed line. I picked the table and once we sat, she then ran to the manager and told him what occurred loud enough for me to hear. I said to my kid, "hope she knows I can hear her", she ran back over and asked what we wanted to drink. Her attitude was obvious and I have zero tolerance for foolery. We left. OK, maybe I tend to come in here with rose colored glasses, since I was around when they first opened and love the menu. They still have the nice looking desserts on display as you enter. But that's kind of moot, since I only look these days. It was around 11:00, so I ordered a chef salad. Still the same good blue cheese dressing, and I like how they slice the swiss and cheddar cheeses thin and wide. I don't like cucumbers in chunks, that's just plain lazy. It just screamed I hate my job and I'm taking it out on every one of you's. The service was obviously slow, but she was friendly. I only saw 2 wait staff, one in the front and one in the back. Could be a little cleaner - my daughter sat at the counter with me and had dirty silverware and a coffee stain on her paper napkin - spoon had coffee on it as if someone had sat there and just had coffee and left but it was not cleared away. In addition to my "real job", I've worked in Stuyvesant Plaza at night for over 6 years. So of course, I've eaten at my share of Stuyvesant eateries. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and so Peaches has the potential to be my favorite place in Stuy Plz, but it never quite makes it there. Here's why. I love the breakfast foods. I've never had any that weren't fabulous. And the fact that I am able to get my breakfast foods with fresh squeezed oj and real maple syrup makes me ecstatic. I've also had several very tasty desserts, and the fact that there are so many dessert items with raspberry in them has not gone unnoticed by me. Further, their spinach artichoke cheese dip is among the best I've had in the area (although quite pricey at 7 or 8 dollars for a small crock of it). Yes, I will admit, I am a fan of the food. For some reason though, every time I go there, I end up feeling somewhat second class. Yes, there are times I have gone in jeans, a hoodie and sneakers, but more often than not I've gone in skirts, suits, or other "work" outfits, and for some reason, I always feel like I just don't fit the profile of who Peaches is looking to serve. This is a ridiculous notion, because it's a cafe, not a black tie restaurant, and yet I've had this feeling virtually every time I've gone. I am not a "sandwich" person and I dislike eggs - so, eating there with friends, I went with Chicken "Picatta" (should have known better -- I saw the misspelling on the menu, but did not take a clue from it) and I surely wish I had ordered something else. The accompanying salad was extremely good baby lettuce, some grape tomatoes and some cucumber pieces (but NOT PEELED, which would have been nice to remove the food wax). The PICCATA was the poorest I have ever experienced. A chicken breast cutlet arrived with lemon caper "sauce" that was actually the consistency of jam and room temperature. It looked like marmalade, glopped in a pile on top of the cutlet. Hardly any lemon flavor, and it was an unappetizing gray color (probably colored by the capers?) when it should have been a WARM pretty, sunny yellow liquid the consistency of syrup to which capers are added, setting off a golden brown sauteed cutlet. The chicken looked really nice with light breading, but it was dry - in the pan a little too long. (Admittedly it's not easy to get chicken just right, two minutes one way or the other, and it's either under done or dry.) The "vegetable" was four asparagus spears about the thickness of a pencil that looked like it may have been roasted - mushy with tough strings, and outright COLD. Asparagus is difficult to serve and a vegetable that can hold heat better would have been a better choice. This is the second time our group has eaten here at dinner time - I hope we will try somewhere else next time. read more

I've been to Peaches Cafe before and had great service but this time I went on a rainy Monday on July 1st 2013 and there were about 2 groups in there. After we were seated it took more than 10 minutes to get out drink orders and the wait staff was standing behind the bar talking. Then when It was time for our food orders to be taken no one came over to check on us until I looked at the wait staff and waited until they felt my glare. While we ate no one checked on us to see how the food was and after we ate I had to once again glare in the direction of the wait staff to be noticed. I even called the manager the following week to tell them about the horrible service and left a message to be called back and I was not called back. This shows me that they don't care about customer service and I won't be returning there. read more

Peaches is one of my favorite places in Albany to get breakfast/lunch; the food's great, the service is friendly, and the desserts are to die for! (Seriously, the dessert display is the first thing you pass as you're seated, and it rarely fails to snag your attention!) Their Southwestern frittata is fantastic; it's got home fries, corn, and all sorts of fab goodies in there w/a side of salsa, and their vegetarian Reuben is one of my very favorite lunch items ever. (Yes, Peaches is very veggie-friendly!) The OJ there is usually fresh-squeezed and delightfully sweet, and I'd have to say it's the best I've had in Albany. This place tends to get a bit crowded during busier times though; the layout does need a bit of work. However, it's a small inconvenience to bear when the rest of the experience at Peaches is so enjoyable! Love the place! read more

The food is good, cooked well and served hot, if a little on the pricey side ($8 for eggs w/2 sausage links). The coffee is very weak and the latte seemed to be watered down coffee with milk. I recommend stopping at Starbucks across the plaza either before or after instead. read more
