I really like Peaches on Grand and it's one of my go-to spots. On this visit, which was the day after Christmas, the food was still excellent. I had the catfish and grits, which were amazing, and we also shared the octopus. I ordered the Brownstone, one of my favorite drinks there, and it did not disappoint. That said, the service was a bit off this time. There was only one person managing the entire bar and all the tables, which felt overwhelming for both the staff member and the guests. One of our dishes came out cold and we were still charged for it. While I understand the server was doing the best she could, that situation felt more like a management issue than a service issue. On a busy day, especially right after a holiday, there really should be a backup plan or additional support in place. This is the first time I've experienced anything like this here, and it won't impact my overall positive view of the restaurant. The food is consistently good. I just hope management takes moments like this into consideration moving forward. read more

Had very good experiences with Peaches Hothouse & Lewis so I went up to Peaches Grand as my third venture to the Peaches establishment and it certainly lived up to the high bar as the previous 2 restaurants. Was automatically greeted by a waitress as I came into the place and took a seat at the dining area further from the bar since that area was fairly crowded. Place felt very warm which certainly was needed after coming out to the cold to check this place out. Made myself comfortable as I was waiting for my food to come around which I'd have to admit, was a bit on the long side but I had nothing else better to do so I just took it easy. My food arrived I'd say a little after 15 minutes after I ordered but it was worth the wait. I ordered the Montauk Whiting Fish w/ Fries and additional Jumbo Shrimp and it was plated so beautifully which I would assume is a theme of sorts for this restaurant and I fully endorse it. There was no misses with my meal, only hits from the tenderness and size of the Shrimp, the nice crisp batter of the fish without it being mostly flaky with little meat and the fries were prepared pretty perfect as well. It also came with tartar sauce which complimented the seafood very well. Another solid meal from a solid establishment. The waitress came around a few times to see how I was enjoying the food, responding with a thumbs up and enjoying my meal. On a recent visit to BK, I stopped in for brunch. This quaint spot boasts everything from brunch to seafood boils. While here I noshed on: Shrimp app- nicely sized, perfectly cooked shrimp. Coating was crispy but, it lacked in seasoning. Chicken & toast- 2 piece chicken with about 2 piece of French toast. Coating was crisp on both. Chicken was juicy. They have you a choice of white or dark meat. I could've did a third half piece of French toast but, other than that; dish was good. Mimosa- nice and boozy. I had pineapple juice with mine. Came here with my wife to celebrate securing our new apartment! The first thing we noticed is how much quieter it was than the other Peaches locations. There was a louder section in the front of the restaurant, but we were seated towards the back. We both loved the simple aesthetic. Her cocktail was The Grand, I ordered the white from New Zealand - which trust me will RARELY disappoint! They both delivered. We ordered the grilled octopus appetizer. We agreed it was the best grilled octopus we'd had since our Barbados honeymoon set the standard! That alone made it worth the visit! I ordered the Brisket Sandwich with bacon potato salad, she the Blue Crab pasta. Both were delicious and fresh. The pickles on the sandwich were a nice acidic counterpoint to the sweetness of the barbecue sauce. The brisket was tender and had a good smokey flavor. The pasta was briny yet balanced! We both left little behind. This could just be our personal preference, but neither one of us enjoys ice cold potato salad, preferring it be room temperature. The bacon potato salad though flavorful, was straight out of the fridge, which gave the potatoes an unpleasant texture that we didn't enjoy. And who wants congealed bacon pieces in their salad? We enjoyed them much more as warmed leftovers the next day. Overall, a much chiller version of the Peaches chain, and easily our new favorite! Will be back! read more

I came here for dinner after coming back from christmas vacation with my sister. We did have to wait about an hour because we arrived just as brunch was done and we were going to wait for dinner. We were able to get seated and go over the menu which was great as I hadn't had a chance to go over it and it was my first time at this location. For an appetizer we ordered The Lewis which was a spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips. It was nice and hot. For our drinks I ordered a False Alarm which had Dusse, Mango Puree and Lemon. It was sooooooooo good and had an amazing balance which brought out the nice smooth flavor of the Dusse. My sister ordered a Paloma which she is more into sweeter, juicier cocktails. For dinner, my sister ordered the Pan Seared Salmon and I got the Shrimp and Grits which is always nice, yummy, creamy and hearty. I has a taste of her salmon which was too good as well. Visiting Brooklyn as often as I do, I decided to explore the local restaurants. I found Peaches Grand which is located near the place I visited. I came in and was greeted br Broderick. He was kind enough to ask my preference of dining arrangement. I chose the bar because I can sit high. The ambiance has a soft romantic touch with smooth jazz playing at the right volume. This restaurant is suitable for after church as the attire is dress or casual. The dim light gives a touch of elegance as well. I ordered fried shrimp for starters. The presentation was perfect. Big, juicy, and the right textures. Serves with tartar sauce and hot sauce, it has a full flavor of a southern dish. My main dish was salmon with scrambled eggs. The presentation was also perfect. I like the Peaches. In my experience, they serve up quality, flavorful food that I want to eat. Peaches Grand (formerly known as Peaches Shrimp & Crab) is no different; the menu is full of things I'd love to put in my mouth. Perhaps it's because they used to be seafood focused (or because I love seafood), but I always lean that way. I've enjoyed the pan roasted salmon and the grilled octopus. I don't think they do the blackened catfish anymore, but that was a winner. And as a place that got their start at the Hothouse with some of the city's best fried chicken, they definitely know how to fry things. Whether it's fish and chips, fried shrimp, calamari, green tomatoes...you won't be sad about the fried food. If you're in the area, Peaches is solid. The atmosphere is that of a quant cafe or bistro in Europe. I caught the last of their brunch menu and I was pleasantly surprised. I must come out to try the dinner menu. Nice lay out. Great big bar , it wraps all the way around. They serve handcrafted cocktails. I came mid day on a Friday. Quick service sat at the bar. The staff is very friendly. I ordered the whiting it comes with fries and homemade tartar sauce. For an up charge of $10 I added fried shrimp it was about 6 nice pieces. My brother had the wings and fries. Peaches Grand is another restaurant that I can't believe I never reviewed. I grew up in this neighborhood and Peaches was a wonderful addition when it opened a few years ago. It's a good looking place. It's set inside of a beautiful antique building that I'm sure, once upon a time, was someone's lovely home. My fave dishes are the blue crab spaghetti and the crispy fish sandwich with shoestring fries. The fish is so crispy and the bun is so soft. The fries are perfect. I sometimes wake up thinking about it because it's so delicious. There's a small bar counter to sit at if you feel like having a tasty cocktail or three. Not sure if there's a Happy Hour but weekend brunch at Peaches Grand is really good. read more

This is my second time here and it won't be my last. Thought I did a review of this lovely restaurant! The host and Julissa were both accommodating to wgmhere our group of five would sit. The service on our orders was great. All questions on food preparation and substitutions were clear. Everyone was pleased with their choices. I was so into my crispy salmon and rice I really wasn't paying anyone else's food any attention. The crispy bowl had warm veggies and a side salad. Everything was seasoned and blended well with each other. The vibe was great. It's located on a corner so the huge glass windows give a great outside but your inside feel. Stepping into this restaurant you are greeted by a very warm ambiance. The atmosphere is laid back and super cozy. The food is absolutely delicious in this place. I had the green fried tomatoes and the fancy fried chicken. Both dishes lived up to the expectations. The Good Night Kiss cocktail was a perfect pairing. The service could have been a little better. Visited this place Sunday for brunch and what were was I thinking that I would be able to mosey right in with 5 of my friends?! You know what...I did! Just out pure luck someone didn't show up for their 1pm reservation and we snagged the table! I came here with my cousin since he said he had been here & the food was good & he was telling the truth! For appetizers we had their calamari & it was cooked perfectly. Not overcooked or rubbery, but perfectly made. For my entree I tried their Branzino & it was one of the best Branzinos I've had at a restaurant. I was truly impressed. I've actually never salsa verde with my Branzino before, but I'm happy I did. My cousin had their Montauk Whiting & said it never disappoints & it didn't this day either. Peaches Grand has a laid back atmosphere with great food & drinks. On a weekday it was actually pretty crowded. My cousin had said he actually has never seen it that packed before. There are also two sections & we were by the bar section. On the other side it's just tables & when we came no one was on that side, but when we left it was quite a few people from what I saw. This was my first time here, but certainly won't be my last. Had a fine brunch experience here--their lobster scramble (have also seen crab scramble on menu as well) is no joke--light, fluffy and full of seafood. My friends also loved their meals on our last visit--the chicken and (French) toast a lovely blend of sweet and savory, and the smoked whitefish salad a surprisingly nice, light option--like an elegant, upscale bagels and lox spread. There was ample sharing, and all of the food was on point. On the only down note, I did find their Bloody Mary fairly boring--surprisingly lacking in kick I thought, particularly given the seeming Southern slant of the menu. It actually wasn't listed on their brunch menu, so perhaps they specialize in other options. My interest in trying Peaches Grand sprung from experiencing Hot House and Peaches on Lewis ave. I must say, Peaches Grand lived up to my expectations. I can tell my family also agreed that Peaches Grand was a total hit. The service was superb, and the ambiance was downright groovy. Ya, groovy. I enjoyed my meal of fried calamari and crab spaghetti. The portion size was substantial to the point that I didn't have room for dessert, which rarely happened. I guess that only issue I had which is not the restaurant's fault but finding parking around the restaurant was quite tricky. Disappointed and Misled. When searching for a Black-owned Southern food restaurant in Brooklyn, Peaches Grand came up at the top of my results. Based on the marketing and reputation, I was expecting authentic Southern-style, soul food -- the kind that carries warmth, culture, and flavor. Unfortunately, what I experienced felt more like a bait and switch. While Peaches Grand promotes itself as a Black-owned soul food spot, the food and overall experience lacked anything resembling authentic Southern cooking -- or soul. 1. The kitchen: Not one Black chef or cook in sight, which immediately felt disingenuous for a restaurant claiming to represent Southern Black culinary traditions. (Imagine walking into a Chinese restaurant and seeing a kitchen staffed entirely by Germans.) 2. The clientele: Very few, if any, Black diners -- another red flag for a place marketing itself around cultural authenticity. 3. The food: The dishes completely missed the mark. The grits came with parmesan cheese (a confusing, non-Southern twist), and the fried chicken looked and tasted like it came from a freezer bag. Nothing about the food evoked the soul, flavor, or comfort associated with Southern cooking. If you're looking for authentic soul food, Peaches Grand will leave you disappointed. But if you prefer European-inspired dishes in a trendy Brooklyn setting, this might be more your speed. Either way, it's not the Southern, Black-owned experience that the marketing suggests. read more

It was good and it wasn't strong. The drink was made just right. For my entree, I had the Jim Cade Breakfast which consisted of Granola crusted French Toast with powdered sugar and berries, Turkey sausage and scrambled eggs. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. The waitress was very nice and explained things on the menu. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon and they played some nice music so the vibe was nice. Walked in around 6pm on a Friday night. The menu looked good - southern comfort food - and the establishment was busy. It was happy hour but in lieu of the offerings for HH I opted for The Artist. It was priced at $13 and had grapefruit and tequila. It wasn't too sweet. The fried green tomatoes sounded too good to pass up so we ordered that as our starter. They were crisp and tasty. The smoked chicken caught my eye with bacon potato salad and my friend ordered the shrimp and grits. The smoked chicken came drenched in sauce which was not advertised but it took me only a second to understand why... the chicken was old and incredibly dry. The potator salad was off and i didnt like so I focused on eating the chicken. I searched for the breast and it was shredding like hay. The chicken fell apart but all moisture was removed from the chicken. After one bite of the breast I struggled to chew and knew I couldn't finish this dish. I alerted our server and apologized letting him know I didn't like the dish and couldn't finish it. He asked me if I wanted something else and I requested the steak and fries. The shrimp and grits was pretty good but the shrimp was def frozen and overcooked. I did enjoy the grits. The steak and fries was great! Crispy fries and a juicy hangar steak that wasn't too grisly. Always a great meeting place! I never feel rushed and my group and I are usually there for hours. The music makes you wanna sing along. Wait staff is courteous and goes above and beyond. Sometimes they seem a little overwhelmed but that's because the place is usually full. ALL the food is delicious and the best in Brooklyn fried chicken is the best. Chicken is meaty, crispy outside, and tender inside. They have the cheesiest Mac n cheese and a to die for spinach and artichoke dish. I am told the fish is good but an allergy prevents me from trying it. Non soda Soft drinks are refreshing. As a tea-todler, mixed drinks are on the weak side but that really is a preference. The tomatoes were cut into small pieces and served with large onions, arugula, and a tangy remoulade-type sauce. Lots of texture and very tasty. Other than pasta and an impossible burger, they don't have many vegetarian entrees, so I opted to try their mac and cheese. It had a crisp, broiled top layer and was rich and creamy.
