"Sautéed vegetables" is frozen veges boiled. Smh. For $6.95
Becky G.

Burgers need seasoning. Sautéed vegetables is a joke. $6.95 for some vegetables boiled from a frozen bag is crazy.

I only ordered an bagel and cream cheese nothing g to really rate here. Ambiance very appropriate for a Sunday morning. Peaceful and pleasant. Here over an hour and no one offered to refill the coffee.

Bagel with Nova Scotia Lox and Cream Cheese

I tried their plain bagel with lox and cream cheese. I ordered through Grubhub and it came early. It was the perfect ratio of lox to bagel. The Nova Scotia lox was also really yummy. This might be one of the best bagel with lox that I've had. I would totally get it again!

Great place to order for lunch. Had a tuscan panini that was very good. Next time I will say no onions, there were a lot. Pesto was just enough. Steak fries are my favorite...sooo tasty and nicely fried. Portion overall was very good. Looking forward to exploring menu.

Multigrain toast

Wednesday, July 5, 2023 early afternoon, table for 2. We sat wherever we wanted and were brought menus. We both ordered coffee with milk as well as iced water with lemon( on the side). The lady had the Bleu cheese burger deluxe with red onions and avocado. She really enjoyed the burger deluxe and took a bit of it home. I had the chicken breast, eggs over easy platter which came with avocado, multigrain toast( with butter and strawberry jelly). It was topped with a warm Chipotle hollandaise sauce. The dish was perfect in presentation and flavor. Attached to hotel and service was amazing without being invasive. Definitely pocket friendly.

No reason to be paying over $50 for two bacon egg and cheese and two orange juice. Please just go to the corner store or make it yourself because it's unreasonable and the service is not worth 20% and then asking for a tip on top of that. Please just buy the breakfast buffet at the hotel and stay away from this spot.

Fluffy challah French toast with crispy bacon

Yay a diner in my neighborhood! The food is good, the coffee is fresh, the prices are reasonable and the service is pleasant. Neighbors, work with me on this one: let's keep this place in business. I've only been here for breakfast (twice) and it was shortly after they opened so they probably were putting on their best face but I have hope that they'll keep it up, they seemed professional. Both times I got challah French toast with crispy bacon. The toast was fluffy and the bacon was indeed crispy. Four slices of each, came to 11.95 I believe. Hubs got two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. He was happy. I think it cost the same but don't quote me. The menu is the size of a, I don't know, something big. They have a bunch of sandwiches and other stuff. I recognize the menu from a place on Montague that I meant to go to but never did so I guess it was meant to be. They had a buffet for 21.95 but we weren't ready to treat ourselves. They are next to the Holiday Inn.

These thick, golden, sweet butter-soaked beauties have just the right zest of lemon to keep them interesting. Side of berry compote optional, but it really does make something already so special into something spectacular. Other important items include the Chinatown Egg & Cheese Sando, which has a sesame scallion milk bun and the Korean Fried Chicken Wings, and yes, we ate those at 9 AM. Heaping plates of heavenly stuff! Fantastic breakfast, amazing brunch, perfect lunch. Come anytime, just make sure you get the pancakes.

I will say the PANCAKES did not disappoint and lived up to all of the hype. The place is known for having a long line and a tiny surface area. I was lucky I went solo and sat at the counter. It was crowded and I visited around 2 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. It is a sheik, charming clean diner with exposed brick and old school decor. They had a vibe going on with low toned music in the background. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I ordered with the floor waitress as the kitchen staff only cooks and does not take orders directly from counter patrons. She was kind and attentive. I had their signature pancake, a side of eggs and a side of pickled daikon. Way too much food for a single person but I tried my best to eat most of it. Pancake was superb! Never had one that tasted like that. It had lemon zest on it and I think might have been made with semolina or cornmeal. It was a cross between light /fluffy and dense. Simply perfect! I must say I was completely delighted with my food. Sitting at the counter was great because you can see the food actually being prepared. My neighbors were a party of 3. They ordered several items including the pancake. They seemed to be enjoying their meals. Bathroom was single use and fairly clean. Service was great. Food was hot, delish and priced appropriately. Place was clean and a bit of a downtown-east side vibe. I would totally return here and probably ditch the line for another seat at the counter!!

We were staying in the neighborhood and trying to find a spot within walking distance for dinner…read more After wandering around for awhile, we landed on Jey Diner after walking past. This spot has a handful of tables and while we were there, quite a few to-go orders were picked up as well. Though we were the only diners, so I assume it's more of a breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is rather expansive with options from breakfast to lunch and dinner. After studying the menu, we opted for the Veggie Burger and the Meatball Parm Po'Boy. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long as we were the only diners, but we were not in a rush so it was fine. As the restaurant was unassuming, I honestly had pretty low expectations, but we both really enjoyed our meals. It was definitely large portions and really flavorful. My fiance said the Meatball Parm Po'Boy was delicious and I appreciated that the veggie burger seemed to be made in house as it was falling apart (in a good way) and you could distinguish some of the veggies. I ended up only eating about half of my burger and took the rest for lunch the next day and it held up well.

But if you're looking for some excellent, straight forward, wonderfully crafted simplicity, this is in your wheelhouse. A quesadilla is a quesadilla, a hamburger a hamburger. Sounds boring? Not when your hamburger and quesadilla are amongst the best you've ever had at any diner, anywhere. Our waitress was very nice and allowed us to dine, unbothered. We ordered a fresh fruit platter for dessert. It included watermelon, mango, grapes, apples, strawberries, etc. very nice, well presented. The dining area certainly belies what happens in that kitchen behind the door. I'll be back to try some more simple, but excellent food.

And sadly, this is one. Sustainable packaging is great until it's not. Sub the scrambled eggs were melting into the box when they arrived. And had they arrived a moment later, they would have seeped through the box. Fine. I'll just get them out of the box, onto a real play. Ha. They must have been added to the box while they were fresh off a hot pan. A good amount was welded to the box. Annoying, but fine. And then the brew arrived without sugar or (paid for) oat milk. They hate me. It's ok, I'll just drink it black. And that's where 2 stars get knocked off. Worst tasting coffee ever. Cold brew is supposed to be smooth, with very little acid. This was extremely sour! As if it was made previously and had been sitting around for a couple of days. It took me a minute to realize how bad it was. And suffering as a result. Intense stomach pains and tummy issues. From coffee. Smh. I will probably eat there, in person. But I will never trust their cold brew again. Or delivery.

The mix of a thousand island type sauce with ketchup made this burger a 10/10. Lots of lettuce, not overly anchovy and just the croutons were soft and crisp at the same time? very much enjoyed how big of a portions all of these items were. chicken parm sauce was tangy and had good flavoring with the perfect melted cheese on top of the soft but crisp edges of the chicken. i'd highly recc all three items we got! service was quick once we got seated and was nice to be outside in the warm weather.

While they have all the traditional breakfast fare, I was so happy to see it also had a Caribbean twist to it. I couldn't help myself--I had to order rice and beans with pernil (pork shoulder) and a side of sweet plantains. Of course, I wanted some actual breakfast items, so we got the French toast loaded with fruit. We also got both the tres and quatro golpes, which is a traditional Dominican breakfast. Lastly, we got a Caribbean omelet. My rice and pernil was solid. The rice could've used a tad bit more seasoning but when mixed with the side of beans and plantains plus a drizzle of hot sauce it was perfect. They had a variety of sauces--Tabasco (my fave), a Jamaican one that was super spicy, and a mild homemade one. The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. I'd say the Caribbean items stole the show though. The place has a typical diner vibe and is on the small side. Food was served quickly and service was good. Discount if you pay in cash. I will be coming back to try their Cuban!!

The vibe is that of a Mexican American diner, and the clientele are all clearly Brooklyn heights locals - some of which have clearly been coming here for decades. It is clearly a IYKYK spot. The menu is huge - pretty much anything you can want from a diner is on it, including a full bar. Also, the service is incredibly helpful and friendly. Even if you don't see something on the menu you can likely order it (within reason). On our first visit, we ordered the carbonara and we were hooked. How can this little spot we skipped over so many times give us such great food? Have we been missing out this whole time? From this first visit, we've ended up coming in many times during all times of day whether that was a late night dinner or hungover breakfast, Grand Canyon just hits the spot. It is not your fanciest meal, but it is comfort personified. While the carbonara is what made me fall in love with Grand Canyon (perfectly creamy and non-skimping on the crunchy bits of bacon), I've also yet to find a pulled pork sandwich as good as the one Grand Canyon puts together. I haven't left disappointed and hope this gem stays in the neighborhood forever. Long live Grand Canyon

Apparently there is more than one location in Manhattan. The inside reminded me of a classic diner. Comfy and with a pretty cool vibe. We all slid into a booth and looked over the seasonal offerings along with their standard menu. I was lured by the chicken Kyiv based on the picture of having two rolled up chicken cutlets stuffed with dill and other yumminess, but was a bit disappointment when it arrived with a single small cutlet on my plate with two heaping mounds of potatoes mash and broccoli. I instantly had regret when I should have gotten the borscht soup with pierogies, but wanted to try something I wouldn't usually. I should've stuck to what was safe. My work mom got the stuffed cabbage and that was a clear homerun- really loved the mushroom gravy that it came with. My other colleague got the potato pancake and wasn't too thrilled with it, while my boss got the two Swedish meatballs that he described to be Ikea worthy. Although this was my first time here, I can't say that anyone really loved the food nor would come out of their way to come back. I really was hoping this would have wow-ed me in some way, but I guess I'll stick to what's familiar.
