It is one of the very few Indian restaurants that provide lunch buffet. They had a bunch of options, and everything tasted good to an extent. Nothing too great, but not disappointing either. Would recommend it only when you want to taste multiple items for the price and don't prefer ala carte. The day we visited they had only mutton biriyani in non veg, which is a good thought to provide in the menu, but those who don't eat goat like one of my frnz, would be disappointed. It's unfair to ask for both, so if it's an option to check the day's items before getting the buffet, I'd recommend it.

Review is for Thursday dosa night- Cost: 15$ Adult and 10$ Kids How it works? You pick South Indian appetizers, rice and desserts from the buffet selection. For Dosa, server will offer you list of dosas and you can order them. Snippet of my visit: Ambiance is average though atmosphere was very welcoming with prompt attention to your needs. I liked the service which usually falls behind in buffet setting. Food wise- I enjoyed hot served ghee roast, gontur and onion dosa variety and of course with hot sambhar and chutney. Idly, Vada and rice was tasty too. At the end, I had self served masala tea to leave me satisfied with my visit.

Ambience made me feel like I was back home. At least for the pani puri , and the waiting in line. I do think I was taken aback by the lack of personal space that the clientele had in the restaurant. There was a lady who did not seem to understand that screaming because she saw her friend was not acceptable within close proximity to other guests.... Other than that , had an enjoyable experience overall. The cakes were tasty. The service was great.the pani puri was so flavorful and Spicy!

Was the perfect size too, didn't feel sluggish or too full after eating which sometimes happens when I eat at places that have massive ones. I also tried Andhra Garelu for the first time and it's now my new favorite Indian food. For those who aren't familiar, the best way I can describe it is a savory doughnut without any frosting or toppings (taste a lot like potato/french fries to me, but staff told me it was made with flour not potatoes). It was the perfect thing to dip in the sauces I had leftover from my dosa. The staff here are also incredibly friendly and I enjoy coming here to catch up with them. The food was good overall, with a solid variety: chicken, mutton, and fish curries, biryani, several vegetarian dishes, mango lassi, sweets, curd rice, puri, vada, noodles, and hot tea. My personal favorites were the carrot halwa, mango lassi, and biryani. The only downside was how they handled the naan. Instead of having it at the buffet, they serve it directly to the table. With the rush, it was really hard to get any, we waited almost 20 minutes for our first (and only) basket. It would be much better if naan were available at the buffet or if they circulated it more frequently. On the plus side, they were quick about clearing plates. Prices are reasonable: $24.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids, with kids under five eating free.

Shalimar serves authentic Pakistani and Indian food. The atmosphere here is casual and unassuming. It's an open eatery with community tables and chairs on both sides of the tables. There are also booths and benches for those who need some privacy. This canteen-style eatery focuses on food. You order and pay at the counter. They get your name, and your order is served fresh and piping hot. Everyone ordered something different: Tandoori Chicken, Fresh Baked Naan, Goat Biryani, Fish, Okra, Goat Karahi, Biryani Rice, and several other dishes. The dishes were placed in the middle of the long table and we all got to taste everyone's food. Every dish was flavourful and the seasoning on each dish was on-point. Their naan is baked daily - and you can taste the freshness of the bread. The vibe was strong because it's been an absolute age since we last met up. All nine of us picked up where we left off. As we filled our plates with delicious eats, conversation flowed while we joked and ate. The short reunion came to an end when Shalimar breaks for two hours before it opens again for dinner. We bade goodbye as we went our separate ways. Until the next chapter...

Appetizers - Shrimps were very tasty, Mushroom Galouti perfectly done(didn't miss the lamb), Andhra Chicken was a bit lacking - batter fried with a kick. Mains - Chicken Saoji was a taste bomb, loved it. Parsi Patri fish was done well, just thought the mustard sauce was out of place. The Little Choka was a big miss - every piece of it was unbelievably sour, we ended giving up. The place is big, beautiful & luxurious. Service could have been a little better, we were the only ones. One tip we tried giving - for a table of four, the server could recommend adding a portion to a three-piece dish, for a price. We were curtly told Chef wouldn't agree!!
