Warning: Double-check your Credit Card statements after dining here. A few weeks ago, I had dinner with two friends at Peacock Indian Cuisine. We asked to split the bill three ways and handed over three separate credit cards. When my statement arrived, I discovered my card had been charged twice for nearly identical amounts ($77.79 and $77.78). My credit card company advised me to resolve it with the merchant first. I have contacted management three times now. While they pulled the records, they claimed they couldn't find the duplicate charge on their end, arguing that one charge was applied to my friend's card instead (despite my statement clearly showing both charges hit my account on the same card). They offered nothing but illogical excuses and zero resolution. Due to their negligence, poor record-keeping, and lack of accountability, I am forced to file a formal dispute with my credit card and waste my time because of their mistakes. It is one of the very few Indian restaurants that provide lunch buffet. They had a bunch of options, and everything tasted good to an extent. Nothing too great, but not disappointing either. Would recommend it only when you want to taste multiple items for the price and don't prefer ala carte. The day we visited they had only mutton biriyani in non veg, which is a good thought to provide in the menu, but those who don't eat goat like one of my frnz, would be disappointed. We celebrated a friend's 85th birthday and had the food catered by Peacock Indian Cuisine, in their adjoining Banquet Hall in Dublin, California on Dec. 13, 2025. There were 57 guests. I had personally gone before the event and talked to the current Manager of Peacock Indian Cuisine, two different times to discuss the menu and selected higher end menu of Platinum Package, $39.99/person. Both the times, I emphasized that over 60% of the guests were Americans, hence all the food should be very mild and not at all spicy. The day of the party, when we brought the cake out, there was no knife to cut the cake with. The person from the restaurant who was supposed to help us tried to find one, but was unable to, therefore, the birthday honoree was unable to cut the first piece of the cake! When the dinner arrived, ALL the dishes except the white rice with coconut, were extremely spicy and hot. None of the Indians could eat much, let alone the American friends! Over 70% of food was still in the serving dishes, when the dinner ended, as it was way too HOT to eat. I called the Manager two different times and finally got in touch with him. His response was that he had instructed the kitchen staff to make the food "mild" and will check into it and get back to me. This was two days ago. Even though I called two different times, there has been no response from him. Their customer service is poor and they do not take notes of what the customer has requested. In addition, they are not apologetic for the guests not able to eat. For an event where thousands of $$$$ were spend with professional hall decorations, a DJ, fresh flowers on each table, guests literally from around US, it was a failure due to poor management of the restaurant in paying attention to the customer request, which the manager never wrote down. I genuinely wanted to give Peacock another chance, but the buffet experience was disappointing -- again. Starting with the food: 1. Curd rice had hard, undercooked rice, which completely ruins what should be a simple comfort dish. 2. Chicken tandoori was served cold and didn't seem cooked well, which was honestly concerning. 3. Boneless biryani had hardly any pieces, and the tray was never refilled. 4. Chicken tikka masala -- I understand this dish leans sweet, but this was excessively sweet. It genuinely felt more like a dessert than a curry. 5. Vegetable curries were bland and lacked depth. 6. Goan fish curry was mediocre and forgettable. 7. Goat curry and firecracker shrimp were the only dishes that was reasonably decent. What also stood out was how misleading the buffet spread was. At first glance it looks extensive, but on closer inspection it's mostly repetition -- two sections of the same papads, two sections of the same salad, and multiple sections dedicated just to condiments. I had a buffet at Peacock a couple of years ago and remember deciding I wouldn't return. Unfortunately, my friends insisted we try again, and I regret not trusting my initial experience. Peacock has been remarkably consistent in serving mediocre buffet food, now priced at $27 per head (including taxes). We were 6 of Us I'm sharing this feedback with the hope that management takes it seriously. Please work on flavor balance, food preparation, invest in better chefs, and improve service quality. I was having my car serviced near by so stumbled upon this place for lunch. They have a huge lunch buffet 19.95. The food was great, lots of variety and very tasty. It was on the spicier side which I very much enjoyed. Very comfortable seating lots of big booths. The goat curry was amazing, can't wait to go back. My husband and I decided to try Peacock because we were nearby and I had such a craving for Indian food. I'm always concerned that the food caters more to the American palate rather than being as authentic as possible. I can't speak to authenticity, but I'll say we were the only 'white' people in the restaurant. So I'm thinking, the food is geared more towards those who enjoy the delicious, earthiness and deep flavor of Indian food. I hesitate to talk about the heat level, because what is mild to me is butt-burning hot to others. My husband isn't a big fan of hot food, but he seemed fine with a dab of yogurt to temper the heat of some of the items he thought were a bit hot for him. We ordered a vegetarian thali and a non-veg thali. It came with a rice, roti, and a papadum. Of course there was something sweet as well. Plenty of food and a fabulous variety too. TL;DR - Please be cautious about the food quality and customer service. I went to dine in after a long time. I have ordered their Daal Tadka curry to be safe and one of their biriyanis. Daal curry - old, bland and awful taste which was enhanced poorly with the bad service provided generously by untrained waiters who work part-time or with no regulations and qualification to be in customer service. I wonder how these restaurant's kitchen pass health check ups. I guess some of their pastries are good. Moreover, they have renovated interiors to welcome customers and create better dine in experience. It seemed like the management had changed since the last time but the variety and taste at the buffet remained similar. There is usually a chaat item and a few vegetarian options. I like their veg biryani but it wasn't part of the buffet recently. Items are replenished fairly frequently and taste fresh. They also have nice tea in the buffet.
