Had positive experience with this shop in the past but a VERY NEGATIVE one today. Ordered a large poke bowl with 5 fish. The server (apparently inexperienced) failed to explain the veggie items (tofu, alvocado etc) are counted as "fish" (especially when additional $1.5 will be charged for alvocado). When I asked to clarify - not requesting to replace, refund or anything - another senior, grumpy server answered extremely impatiently, almost disrespectfully. The food was still okay but really an unpleasant lunch, with tricky pricing and terrible service. read more

While the food itself was fine, the service here was unfortunately one of the worst I've experienced at any establishment. The employee (an older man) did not greet but rather said "can I help you?". That alone should have turned me off from trying this place but nonetheless I still gave it a try. This employee appeared very unfriendly and impatient during the entire ordering process. When I was done ordering, he simply read the total and then very aggressively slid the bowl over to me, without any other words or a thank you. While I do understand english may not be this person's first language, all of their actions were incredibly rude from a customer service standpoint. However service was very nice and I appreciated that they had a number of protein items. Came here for the poke nachos Left here with a bag of stale tortilla chips - PASS Yes the fish was actually fresh and good but I did not like that there were toppings that you had to pay extra for - when the bowl was already pricy. Spam Musubi - was very good Takoyaki Balls - was very excited but disappointed. More of the dough than anything else. In addition the take out container for it needs improvement. This place is okay. Could be a convenient spot for lunch in the mall and was pretty crowded during lunch hour (noonish) on a Tuesday afternoon. They don't offer many toppings nor much variety of fish/sauces, especially in comparison to other poke places. At $13.50 for a regular sized poke bowl that includes 3 scoops of fish, I think the pricing is standard. I feel like other places in the area charge slightly more for around the same amount of fish (think the average is $14-$15 for a regular), but offer more toppings/substance to make for a larger meal. I usually prefer a larger combination of sauces for my poke but went with the gomae sesame and spicy mayo since they only had a total of four options for sauces. My mom got two of their dressed poke options, the signature poke and spicy scallops; neither of us were impressed with the flavors of either. Their topping options were super limited and they charge an extra dollar for seaweed salad, which I have never encountered at a poke place. Overall, not a fan of the variety nor taste that this place offers and will not be returning. It was pretty popular while we were there though, so maybe others enjoy it more or it's just a convenient/decently-priced place for lunch in the mall. My daughter and I just ate here for lunch. I've been there before and had a fine experience. She got a poke bowl with salmon and tuna. It looked off in color and she ate some and it tasted off. So I tried some and also felt it tasted off/ like it had gotten bad. She couldnt risk eating this. She asked the workers for a refund. They could not find their manager. But an older Asian gentleman who worked there was very rude and refused to give us a refund. And refused to apologize or offer any compensation. We will never go there again. Came by for a quick lunch. The lady behind the counter was super nice, and the general impression of the place was clean and tidy. We decided to get a Large Poke bowl, with sushi Rice and Yam noodles. We added pretty much all the veggies. We chose our five scoops of protein, then added ponzu and chili sesame. Then added all the toppings. Overall, we paid $18 for the bowl and thought the portions were decent. Unfortunately what really surprised me was the rice. It was cooked with way too much water and when she scooped it out, you could just see it as a lump of rice. Almost like mochi with how clumped together it was. Then when she scooped out the Yam noodles, they were just dripping with water. She didn't drain it enough and the bowl ended up being over cooked wet rice and soggy noodles with water on the bottom of the bowl. Having a bad base kind of ruins the rest of the bowl... The fish was okay, honestly I don't expect it to be as fresh as it is when I'm in Hawaii, but it's definitely not as fresh as some other poke places in the area. Overall, this place was decent. I think the location is convenient for people who are shopping or working at the mall and want a bowl of Poke. Personally I would consider going to a different poke shop next time. Go Fish is my favorite build-your-own-bowl aka "California style" type of poke restaurant, so I'm glad I finally got around to trying this location that's inside Stoneridge Mall. The main reason why it's my favorite is simply because they have their signature poke, which is prepared the way Hawaiian poke is made. The flavors of onion, sesame, and limu seaweed amongst other ingredients is what makes this makes this poke so good. I was a little upset to see the dull color of the ahi in the signature poke compared to the plain ahi that was much more vibrant. I wasn't sure if this would alter the taste, so I opted to just one scoop instead of three in my bowl. My other two scoops were the plain ahi and salmon with sriracha aioli. I think the only thing that was missed was wasabi on one bowl. I got a large bowl with 5 scoops of protein, 3 salmon, 2 shrimp. Fish is okay, cut into small cubes, I'd say slightly above average. There were some soggier or stringy bits, but overall quite edible. Shrimp was good - not overcooked and no weird aftertaste from preservatives. Scoops are very small, I'd say about a tablespoon each? Base was half brown rice and salad mix. Brown rice was great, soft and not too chewy. All of the fixins and salad were super fresh. I got the gomae sesame and ponzu sauces, which were okay, but I wished it was a little more creamy. It includes a small scoop of miso crab salad, which was good. DH likes this place because they have a mixed poke - ahi, onion, green onion, seaweed, and traditional poke sauce, like you'd find in Hawaii. DH also got yellowtail (no extra charge for this) which had a bit of sweet tropical flavor. And two scoops of salmon. Got two poke bowls for takeout, one regular, one large. Regular gets 3 scoops of protein, large gets 5. I like that they have a variety of protein options, both "naked" (non-marinated) and marinated. I got albacore, seared salmon, and regular salmon. Both salmon were good, but I'd go with the seared marinated salmon if you want more flavor. The albacore was only ok. The fish quality was decent. The fish was chopped into really small pieces, I would've liked bigger chunks of fish. The amount of protein they give for a regular is very minimal (as other reviews have stated), so I would definitely get a large next time, if we come back. The fish is mixed with onion, cucumber, and avocado (extra cost), your choice of any or all. I liked that they gave a ton of onions, given that I opted not to get cucumber as a mix in. It's located inside the Stoneridge mall, so the location is inconvenient unless you're already in the mall shopping, looking for a quick bite. Loved that they had wasabi in small side containers, upon request. I got ponzu sauce and spicy togarashi mayo in my bowl, but I could barely taste any sauce so I'd probably pick more sauces next time. Overall, decent quick bite in the mall. Don't know that I'd go out of my way to get it when portions are rather small and the food was nothing to write home about. Since my last review, I've been coming back when I need to eat before embarking on the second leg of my trip to the Central Valley from the city. My go-to's are the bacon of the sea roll and the tempura shrimp roll. Because of the avocado shortage, they don't put as much as they used to. But I'm happy that the rolls come with them instead of an extra charge. The bacon of the sea roll is comprised of crispy salmon skin, and it's so delicious! The tempura shrimp roll is really tasty as well, especially with the sweet sauce it comes with. I've ordered the miso salmon twice, and I thought it was dry both times I tried it. Tonight, I noticed that they had a veggie roll with soy shitake and inari. I'll have to try that too. It's hard to try others when my go-to's are so good! I ordered a poke bowl because my bus was coming soon and I knew a bowl would be faster than the rolls (they warm them up). I got salmon and tuna with ponzu, and the shrimp already came with its own dressing. I noticed new items, including the yam noodles as a base, and spicy tempura flakes as a topping. I'll have to try the noodles next time. My bowl was pretty good. I inhaled it because I didn't have much time, and I didn't want to carry it on the bus. I really enjoyed the shrimp, maybe because it was the largest portion. I'll have to try their signature poke too. I also enjoy their fountain drinks, which are comprised of tropical flavors like lychee and mango/guava. Service is still friendly, and the area is still clean. They are on the higher end of pricing, but and taste fresh and it's a very good. My only complaint tonight was the large bowl we ordered was only about 2/3 full. Very little rice underneath. They have good portion sizes, and service is quick + friendly. They have hand rolls, some side salads, and mochi ice cream too, but I have yet to actually try those because poke is always calling my name. One star off only because they sometimes close without warning (or at least no warning that I can find(?)) so I've gone there on a few occasions only to leave sad and poke-less.
