I received truly excellent physical therapy from PPPT. The therapists are knowledgeable, skillful, experienced and encouraging. Their assistants are well trained and attentive. At no time was I left to just stand around, as I have at other offices, wondering what I should be doing. The front staff is accommodating, knowledgeable about insurance administration and pleasant. There was never any obstacle to scheduling/rescheduling an appointment nor was there any billing confusion. The mood of the office is upbeat and professional. As an aside, the music is wonderful! Thanks to my primary therapist, Alan Fong, and the entire staff, I have regained significant range of motion in my right shoulder. I highly recommend PPPT. read more

I had a shoulder impingement. Based on the reviews in yelp, I decided to goto peak performance. They are excellent and I wish I found them sooner. Alex evaluated my injury level and suggested changes in postures, exercises and continued to monitor my progress. She listens to my complaints patiently and provides great support relieving my stress and pain. During this covid-19 situation, the tele-health sessions we had was absolutely helpful and I am so glad they provide this option. Alex demonstrated the exercises through video conferencing and also watch out my form with each move and provide feedback. I had sleepless nights with shoulder pain and it is getting better every week. With past few tele-health sessions, my range of motion in shoulder joint has improved and I am getting better sleep. I was referred to PRN Peak Performance by my doctor after suffering a 3rd degree ankle sprain. I called to set up an appointment and they refused to honor the referral. Their Yelp page says that they accept "all major PPOs" and even Medicare. This is flat out incorrect. I was told under no circumstances would PRN accept my insurance - a Gold tier Blue Shield of CA PPO plan - simply because it was purchased through Covered California. This clinic discriminates against patients simply over where they purchased their insurance, likely due to outdated or misleading stereotypes about the types of people who purchase plans on ACA exchanges or how the policies works. I know for a fact that my plan offers generous reimbursement rates for PT, so that's not the issue here. read more

If I could give Peak Performance 0 stars I would but 1 is the lowest option. I saw Neeva for some aches and pain and was Incredibly unhappy with the level of care received. First of all Peak Performance schedules about 3 to 5 people to a therapist/chiropractor for the allotted time slot, therefore the therapist/chiropractor spends 5 to maximum 7 minutes per person for exercises and 5 minutes for massages. Then you lay there for a while waiting for one of Neevas minions to come finish her job. When they have you lay on the massage tables they reuse the pillows from one person to the next. Same for the sheets. I was also sexually harassed by a fellow patient. The person grabbed one of my body parts in front of everyone. That was the very last straw. Words cannot express how despicable this place is. They run it like a cattle call. Also, their billing practices are criminal. They told me that my physical therapy was being billed as a chiropractic appointment. The reason for this is so I would choose them as the copy was 1/3 of what it should be. Now 4 months later I am receiving bills for services received 4 months ago. My personal opinion, not professional as I don't work in this industry, is that they are fraudulently billing people. I filed a complaint with the medical group that sent me to them. Also will be reporting them to the BBB. So disgusted with these people. I'm sorry I ever stepped foot in their business. read more

I am on the computer ALL the time and probably sit with the worst posture (even as I type right now). Well, inevitably, my wrists started hurting and I knew that if I ignored it, it would just get worse. Hearing that one of the owners at Peak Performance is a hand/arm specialist, I made an appointment-and arrived with my 3 year old in tow. For me, any doctor's office that welcomes my child and can treat me successfully gets an extra bonus star in my book. Staff is friendly, courteous, happy to be there. The time passed quickly, arms were massaged and I was given exercises to take home. Whatever they did worked b/c the wrists stopped hurting. I recently completed physical therapy at Peak Performance. I had assumed that going to physical therapy was like an extended trip to the doctor's office. I never saw so many people who were happy to be there. The mood of the staff lifts the mood of the clients. They are always friendly, funny, personable and oh yeah - they also do a great job. I feel that Todd and Neeva run a tight ship and the staff seems like they really enjoy their jobs. Everyone has a great sense of humor and that really helps the clients get through their exercises and actually enjoy them. I liked the fact that the staff could trade off with one another with each client's care. My therapist was Todd and I felt he took good care of me. I would hear him give direction to his staff and felt he and the staff took a personal interest in helping everyone feel better. The gym is very well equipped and though my sessions ran out, I feel 95% better than when I came to have my left shoulder treated. I was given exercises to do at home and very good advice. I will miss going there and highly recommend everyone. Next time I fall on my face I will come back. If you need physical therapy in the East Bay, go there! read more

Hearing that I had to go to physical therapy was sort of like hearing that I needed a root canal. After breaking my arm, I knew it was necessary because atrophy had set in and my triceps jiggled like a wet noodle, but still, I didn't want to go. I'm thankful I did. The people at Peak Performance Physical Therapy have been nothing short of brilliant in my treatment. My therapist, Allan, and the rest of the staff have even catered my recovery around a goal - playing baseball this upcoming season. I'm nearly done with my therapy and feel I'm well on my way to accomplishing this goal. I can't recommend Peak Performance Physical Therapy enough. I came here for my rotator cuff on my right shoulder.I was not completely satisfied with the service, it was more like visiting a gym.they tell you the exercise to do once and hardly monitor. Each instructor is treating 2 to 3 patients at the same time,so hardly get in person review. And the worst was the instructors had contradictory ways to teach the same exercise. Beware very shady billing practices and even if you call them to inquire they are not willing to help and just provide excuses for their deceptive practices. I was told I was out of network but given the good reviews I asked how much it would cost me per session. They told me between 30 to 40 bucks per session. I agreed to that amount but once I got the bill it was $54 per session and 1 other session was $70 because my PT was off that day and the other PT charges you different pricing again very shady. That's a range of 14 to 24 bucks per session from the expected pricing after 8 session you can see how quickly it adds up and that's not even counting the 1 session @ $70. Basically on phone they started saying that it was an estimate which they did not mention when told me 30 to 40 bucks the price that I was expecting. They could have @ least said sorry if we where not clear but no they do not care about customer service and kept trying to clarify themselves after the fact that I did the therapy when they got me accept the therapy based on misinformation. Very unfortunate to see a place like this so highly rated while Neva the therapist was OK and the PT helper staff friendly I expected more from a place rated like this. I would give this place 2 stars even with this incident but since it's rating are so high I wanted to bring more attention to this review. read more

I've used chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapies plus regular exercises to keep my chronic pain in check, so I can continue to work. Work and life stress hit the roof last 2 years, which exacerbated my pain. There were mornings I couldn't get out of bed without severe pain, until I was introduced to Peak Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation Center. After being seen by my therapist Neeva only 3 times, and treated with Cupping therapy twice, my severe pain went away. She then slowly incorporated resistance training to strengthen my muscle. I was pleasantly surprised and learned, that it's never too late to rebuild muscle mass, or to reverse muscle loss from aging process. Neeva is a top notched therapist and trainer, a good listener, with excellent assessment skills and coaching ability. All the Aides, with a kinesiology BS degree, are knowledgeable and very on top of what program I'm on, to assist Neeva in coaching me. I'm so grateful to be led to this Practice. Visited Peak Performance upon the recommendation of my orthopedist. Front office staff and therapy aides were helpful, and the facility was well-equipped (wall to wall mirrors make checking up on patient exercise form very convenient) Todd evaluated me before assigning me over to Alan for continued rehabilitation. They use a variety of strengthening exercises for your ailment. A variety of stretching and strengthening exercises was followed by some body work, ultrasound, and electrical stim with ice. The learning of exercise form was key, and all the therapists (either Todd or Alan) or aides (whether Jerome or Monique), gave great constructive criticism. This is enabled by the open-floor environment where everyone shares one large room, enabling staff to pay attention and assist one another, offering advice between care of multiple patients without the concern of stepping on each other's toes. I really appreciated this collaborative healing approach. At the same time, I was disappointed by the rather brief manual therapy/treatment periods -- usually no more than 5-10 minutes per session. This was particularly frustrating as, after my initial sessions, I grasped the remediation exercises and was able to perform them independently, so requested more time manual therapy, but was not afforded this. During my stint, I found their scheduling/customer database seemed to go down frequently, making appointment booking difficult, but I was told this was being upgraded soon. A website with basic details would also be very helpful given the present cyberage and Silicon Valley-ish location. read more

Awesome place. I went to here after I had a bucket handle meniscus tear from wrestling. All the staff are really helpful, from the front desk check in area to the assistants and interns. The actual therapists are extremely knowledgable, knowing exactly when to push me but also when to hold back and massage the injury. They're also entertaining and easy to get along with, something that definitely makes the rehab process much easier. Apparently, they're putting a bunch of videos of exercises on youtube, and they also use an smartphone app which allows them to send you what workouts to do at home! Kinda cool seeing a tech savvy physical therapy place. Almost sad that my time with them is ending. Went from using a brave that limited my movement to 30 degrees to running now. read more

Short version: knowledgeable, kind, patient, helpful, nonjudgmental staff makes for a good experience. Go here for your physical therapy! You will feel better. I really like Peak Performance. My only other experience with PT is a different place where my dad went to get rehab for his knee, and that was like a different world--impersonal, lack of expertise, etc. At Peak Performance, everyone you work with has serious training in what they're doing (many of them have advanced degrees!). On top of that, they really care about their clients. It's a positive working environment, too--you can tell that they enjoy working together. This surrounding good mood is a helpful thing when you're trying to recover from an injury, I think! To get the most from your experience, stick with one physical therapist. He or she will have a good overview of your progress. If you have to change your appointment times frequently and can't stick with one person, it's OK; they take notes on what you're doing. It's just a more seamless experience if you have one person most of the time. The staff tend to multi-task; it can look a little like a three-ring circus your first time, but the multi-tasking just means that it's not impossible to get an appointment. They *are* keeping an eye on you, but if you need attention, just ask. They're extremely responsive. Also: Don't cover up pain or discomfort. When they ask how you're doing or if you're sure you're OK doing this exercise, that's not the time to be macho or polite. Tell them what you're feeling and they'll have a way to adjust the exercise, try something else, or switch activities. Same thing goes for your "homework": they're great about giving you exercises to do at home, and those are important to do. (I've definitely been progressing faster since I put more emphasis on doing the home exercises.) So if you're having trouble with it--I couldn't figure out where to use my resistance bands at first--you need to tell them so that they can hook you up. The front desk staff are also helpful and friendly. Finally, don't worry if you're young, small, old, out of shape, or large. They're good at accommodating everyone, no judging involved. read more

I spent about 6 months rehabbing with Alex at Peak Performance after I tore my ACL playing soccer in Germany. Alex was great. The workouts she gave me were definitely challenging but if something didn't feel right I could always just say something and she'd make adjustments. I'm happy to be done with my PT, but sad to be leaving. The team at Peak Performance is great; you really get the feeling that it's one big crazy family, from the ladies at the front desk, to the aides, to the therapists. Coming into the facility was something I looked forward to every week, not just because I was getting results, but because I liked seeing everyone too. Neeva the pt has really helped me with my lower lumbar injury and my shoulder/neck tension. I am a respiratory therapist in ICU that is really physically demanding on top of awkward positions all the time. I feel blessed that I came here due to my injury because I have gained so much. Not only they alleviate the pain and injury, this practice believe in teaching the patients exercises they can use at home to strengthen and prevent future injury. My PT even evaluated my exercise routine and advised what I should continue to do what needed modification to protect my back. I cannot wait to take modified Pilate class from Neeva when she starts one. I feel stronger as I do everything she taught me at home daily. read more

This place is absolutely a hidden gem! I found this place on Yelp and I wish I found this place sooner. I am not surprised that there are tons of awards in the lobby, this place deserves every single one of them. I have been suffering from sciatica and neck pain with numbness radiating down to my fingers for the past few years. I was eating pain medications and muscle relaxers like candy, and there were many sleepless nights. I went to 5 different physical therapy places and this place is definitely the best. The therapists are extremely knowledgeable and caring, the aids are amazing, and there are tons of equipment that I have never seen before. What I love about this place is they really focus on soft tissue work and joint mobilization. I had super tight muscles like a rock from being injured for so long. The combination of soft tissue work and strength training workouts really helped me recover. I was working with Dipali and Jerome, and my back and neck pain are pretty gone or very minimum discomfort here and there. I recently injured my Achilles tendons and calf muscles in both legs, so I called this place immediately because I knew I will be in good hands. I am working with Dipali again, she is absolutely amazing! I really appreciate her attention to detail (she will constantly check up on me while I am doing my exercises and tweak my posture if it is incorrect). She will always modify the exercises due to my previous injuries, which is something I really appreciate as a patient. This place has treated from head to toe. Highly recommended! read more

I was sent to Peak by PAMF after knee surgery. Sorry I can't spell the procedure. What a bunch of happy people at Peak. The office staff actually like their jobs. Six sessions were just right. My care provider would have paid for 12 sessions but My knee was 90% back to normal and Peak did not try to get me in for more therapy. Alan, Jerome, and Anna were focused and professional. I went in with a double foot injury and after almost a year of wearing a boot that had aggravated my already injured back to the point where I was not confident in my daily movements for fear of injuring my back even more. I cannot recommend them. I stopped going after two appts. The exercises and traction provided made my neck much worse. I had to see my chiropractor 4 times to undo the damage done by Peak Performance. The woman physical therapist (owner) was unprofessional and didn't have time for me to ask questions or to provide feedback on how the exercises felt to me. She was rushed both appts and spent very little time with me. I've started physical therapy somewhere else and the physical therapist is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and provided me with a treatment plan during the first visit as well as clear documentation on the exercises I need to do daily. I was never provided a treatment plan by Peak Performance and had to ask for documentation on the exercises I was told to do. Dupali deserves an award for not only the most knowledgeable but also for patient care, coach, and as well for the most compassionate individual. In Dec 2018, my mom broke her ankle in 3 parts after a terrible fall post her chemo treatment and had to go into surgery before she had the chance to regain her energy from the treatment. It was quite a trying period both, physically and emotionally, for mom. After months of hospitalization and weeks of living in rehab, the last thing mom wanted to attend was a lengthy round of physical therapy. We were dreading the start of having to go to yet another treatment place. But let me tell you when they say there is a light at the end of a tunnel, well Peak Performance was holding that bright shining light. We entered what felt like heaven, showered with smiles from the minute we entered this place to the minute we waved goodbye of the day and those smiles never stopped, nor lessened.  The universe was on our side the day we walked into this beautiful place because mom got assigned to Dupali as her PT. A brilliant yet most humble gem! We were quite anxious, for one mom did not want to go through any more treatment/rehab and two having to deal with the going in 2x a week after months of running to Stanford Hospital. We were tired yet helpless. Dupali, with much grace and patience, took her time to explain the process. What I loved about her on that day was that she did not make us feel rushed, but also she kept eye contact with both, mom and me; mom doesn't speak English so I was translating but Dupali did not care. She kept speaking to mom as if mom could understand every word and this level of consideration was what made mom return to her next appt. What got mom to continue was Dupali's loving demeanor, her gentle character, and the time she took and effort she made to explain the reason behind how my mom might feel in-between the sessions and the progress timeline and etc. After what I believe was 2nd or 3rd session, mom looked forward to her sessions with Dupali. Because not only mom was feeling the progress physically, but also mentally mom was starting to feel less down/depressed as the vibe which resides inside this rehab center fed mom with positive energy. Normally I stay outside in the waiting room area but here I loved going in and witnessing the vibrant energy, the attentiveness, and the gentleness displayed by every PT and PT assistants. Mom went from not wanting to try PT to looking forward and a month or so into it, mom just loved Dupali as she kept asking "can we get more sessions approved." One year later (April 2019): the bad news was mom needed PT on her hands as post yet another round of chemo mom lost sensation in her fingers on both hands and could not close nor open her hands. We immediately ran to Peak Performance, like a kid running to their parents when in need. Of course, praying that we would get Dupali. Once again, the universe decided to be kind that day and we got Dupali. This round, we got to also meet Shruti with a permanent smile on : ) Every word Shruti uttered was wrapped in a smile, every session and throughout the entire session. A few other super loving PT assistants also guided mom throughout her treatment but sadly I can't recall their names : ( I don't know how they keep up with the process, but mom was never left unattended when required directive and they even had her start her session early when mom arrived a bit early. So we never waited but even if we did we would be so ok with it as the wait would be worthwhile bc of Dupali and her team. Dupali, thank you for healing mom's ankle and hands AND thank you for lifting mom's spirit with your loving character. We will miss you dearly! read more

I went in because I had some persistent neck stiffness from all the video editing I do. I've been to many chiropractors and massage therapists in the past, but never had any significant results from the treatments. The stiffness and pain was still there. Todd and his staff spent considerable time identifying the source of pain and walked me through exercises that stretched and strengthened problem areas that caused the pain. I worked primarily with Dipali and I like her a lot! She's patient, friendly, detail-oriented and she cares about her patients. I worked with Alan a few times and he's knowledgable and professional as well. I see improvement every time I go and I am very happy with the results! One year later (April 2019): the bad news was mom needed PT on her hands as post yet another round of chemo mom lost sensation in her fingers on both hands and could not close nor open her hands. We immediately ran to Peak Performance, like a kid running to their parents when in need. Of course, praying that we would get Dupali. Once again, the universe decided to be kind that day and we got Dupali. This round, we got to also meet Shruti with a permanent smile on : ) Every word Shruti uttered was wrapped in a smile, every session and throughout the entire session. A few other super loving PT assistants also guided mom throughout her treatment but sadly I can't recall their names : ( I don't know how they keep up with the process, but mom was never left unattended when required directive and they even had her start her session early when mom arrived a bit early. So we never waited but even if we did we would be so ok with it as the wait would be worthwhile bc of Dupali and her team. I came in here with a knee injury from snowboarding and I could hardly bend my knee without experiencing pain. And my leg muscles had diminished from not using it. It was a mess. As I limped inside the facility, I was greeted by Letty and Silvia who are the just the two sweetest women I've ever known. They took care of my insurance, billing, and scheduling and worked with me so that I would be able to fit in my therapy even though I had a very busy schedule at work. Todd evaluated me on my first visit inside a private room and explained how my therapy was going to go. He designed a specific program for my rehabilitation with exercises and stretches to get my range of motion back to normal and regain my strength. After the evaluation, all my exercises were done in an open gym area where the therapists and aides could keep a closer eye on me and make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. The staff was very attentive to everyone inside the facility. They worked as a team making sure everyone in rehab were being attended to. I often saw Alan as my secondary therapist if my schedule didn't permit me to come in early. Both therapists knew a lot about my injury and worked with me in achieving my goals! Exercises were also monitored by the aides, Jerome, Monique, and Leanel. Those guys do a great job working together with all the patients that come in the door. My overall experience here at Peak Performance PT was great! The entire Staff was very amazing, my knee is back to normal. And I can go back to snowboarding next season! read more

I had a rotator cuff tear surgery. Recovery of a rotator cuff massive tear surgery is a complicated matter. I went through 12 weeks of physical therapy at Peak Performance. They were competent and caring. Everyone there was helpful and attentive. The atmosphere of the place is relaxed, comforting, Friendly and encouraging. My therapist was Todd. He was excellent. Being owner and manager, he is a busy man. One thing I had to learn in working with him was that he has you in his care even if he is multi tasking 10 tasks. In the beginning I felt a bit neglected. But, I underestimated his multi tasking capabilities. He always attended to my concerns, gave me right therapy and good advice. Another positive mention I wish to make is Jason. Jason was particularly helpful in working details of exercises. Bottom line: Excellent! 5 stars. read more

I have been with them thrice for cervical and hip pain in the past two years. All the PTs, Todd, Neeva, and Katie, are very friendly and competent. I always enjoyed my 1hr session with them. They always asked you how I was doing and if the symptoms were better. They accept most insurances which I'm glad. I also wanted to compliment the PT assistants esp. Maya. She gives excellent patient care for being attentive and thorough. read more

I have been coming here since August 17, 2018. I have to say this place has such an amazing staff. The place gets busy but the staff does a great job in making sure you are well attended. My sessions are with Alan and I think he does an amazing job. It's only been 2 months and I have pretty much regained most of my functions after my ACL surgery. He really gets me to challenge myself without exhausting my knee. The exercises have gotten more challenging but not strenuous and has allowed my muscles to grow stronger. I came in not able to walk a mile now two months down the road I am back able to walk 8-10 miles a day. Have done a few appointments with Neeva as well, she also does an amazing job and was also very pleasant. Absolutely satisfied with the service this place has given. Everyone is also very friendly and pleasant, I was fortunate my orthopedist office found me this place. read more

Before I went to Peak Performance, I had gone to another physical therapy facility awhile ago for a knee problem. I thought that facility was great and requested it after my hip replacement surgery. But after the surgery, I was referred to Peak performance by a reliable ortho surgeon. He said that Peak Performance was better because you get personal attention. and I thought, yeah, yeah. Hot dang!, the doc was right. I was impressed . I am really picky when it comes to customer service, given that I have run into crappy customer service that runs the gamut of businesses. This place , however, totally deserves 5 stars. I won't go into my own physical therapy regimen, but I will share with all of you that every person at Peak Performance is attentive, kind, professional and are multi-taskers. Todd, one of the owners and a physical therapist, has eyes in the back of his head, and maybe Neeva, too, the other owner, physical therapist. They would be with another patient, and I would hear, "watch the hip!" or "slow down". I didn't take offense. It is all for the best! Trust me. I wanted that feedback because it only helps. Those two cracked me up!!!! Their sense of humor is infectious. They can blend the humor with their technical know-how and compassion. When either of them or the rest of the awesome staff, Jerome, Katy, Leanel, or Monique (did I leave anybody out that worked w/me?) would notice I needed correcting during the exercises, they would tell me and I noticed the difference instantly. After all, if they are not paying attention and correct you, why waste your time doing the exercises? Would be my own stupidity to not listen. The staff were always available to ask questions about why and how a specific exercise would help my recovery. No matter how often I asked the same question, they were always professional, patient and compassionate in their answers. I would love to brag about them individually, but I don't know if you all reading this would continue reading. Let us not forget Sylvia and Letty. The two hilarious people who keep the business organized! They were always professional, but with such compassion and humor. I never had to worry about the accuracy of the scheduling nor the payments. Towards the end, I got to see Sylvia more often, She was a sweetheart: warm, kind, professional and so personable. Everybody has a wonderful sense of humor. Each person gets to know you and calls you by your first name. It's like the old tv show, "Cheers", where everybody knows your name. Yeah, I'm dating myself, but who cares. It felt like home. I miss them and my last session was only a few days ago. Ok, I'm done. read more
