**July 2026: Wednesday Night** During our Arizona road trip, my friend and I made a spontaneous stop in Cave Creek and were instantly drawn to the town's western charm. We were looking for an authentic saloon experience, and Harold's Corral seemed like the perfect fit. We came on a Wednesday evening and were seated in a booth. The place was already bustling, and there was live music that night, which made the whole atmosphere feel really lively and fun. We each enjoyed a bottle of sarsaparilla and a prime rib dinner, which was the special of the night. The food was decent, but honestly, the vibe was the real highlight for me. They have live bull riding on Wednesday and Friday evenings, which sounded really cool. We were pretty wiped out and still had an hour of driving ahead of us, so we didn't stay for that part, but it definitely made me want to come back another time. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd love to return on a Friday night to check out the children's mutton riding competition, which I heard is especially cute. read more

We have been here numerous times. This is definitely an old school bar but a solid pet-friendly place to hang out and grab a drink and enjoy a laid back atmosphere. Patio is comfortable and cool even in summer. Far superior to Buffalo Chip in my opinion. The beer is cold and the service is generally always very good (special shoutout to River who we had today and was absolutely excellent). The food is bar food (not my favorite) but some good options are the burger and the wings. My husband likes the fried chicken. Drove almost an hour to meet friends for brunch. Coffee was warm but not hot. Breakfast potatoes room temp. Huevos rancheros were ok. I prefer when the tortilla is crispy, but more that the beans are on top, not on the side. Everyone at the table mentioned the potatoes. One got waffles and they weren't hot either. read more

Came for breakfast and got my money's worth. Compared to CA prices I got a plate of eggs, potatoes, sausage patty's, and french toast for $14. This would have been a smaller portion and a few more bucks easily in CA. Food came out pretty quickly. Everything was tasty. read more

Stopped in for the first time on a Friday during lunch while visiting the area. The parking lot was busy so figured we'd give it a try. We were seated in the lounge area & our server was Margaret. We started with drinks hubby ordered tea without lemon (he got lemon dropped in the tea) & I ordered the Rodeo Star Martini (passion fruit) my drink was tasty. The bar area was kinda busy obviously having several regular customers occupying many of the seats, sports quietly playing on the tv and the regular dining area was also occupied by various tables a good start to a Friday lunch crowd. The decor was typical western bar themed. We made a few inquiries about the menu and then placed our orders. Hubby ordered the ribeye with fries (he has a severe dairy allergy) this was a safe choice even though he was advised that cross contamination was a possibility. I ordered the prime rib street tacos. Our food arrived within a decent time frame. Hubby's meal was ok, the steak was smaller than we expected especially for the price (we were expecting a dinner sized steak not a breakfast sized steak) the seasoning was ok & the fries were nothing to write home about just pre-seasoned fries. My tacos were ok. There was plenty of meat & toppings but the meat lacked any real flavor. The green salsa was ok & the red tasted strongly of tomato & not much else. It was just an ok lunch that lacked true bbq house flavors. Did we comment on our experience? No, because this was our opinion & everyone's opinion varies. read more

Kiwanis celebrated the holidays at Harold's. It was a great turnout, good food and live music from the Whiskey Lizards. While we listened to music, I got a free popcorn. We are officially old people. The music was pretty loud and good. It was hard to have a conversation with anybody though. Once dinner was ready, various tables were called to get their plates of food. It was very orderly, and there was plenty to eat. They offered a green salad, roasted potatoes, asparagus, salmon,roast beef and rolls with butter. A tasty meal. After the dinner, it was a raffle and prizes. All in all a nice evening. They have their own parking lot. read more

If you're looking for a classic western restaurant / bar atmosphere, Harold's is a good choice. Dark, lots of wood (walls, ceilings, floor). Plenty of seating both indoors and out. We were there for an early dinner on a Friday and you could see they were already setting up for live music and dancing for later in the night. Enjoyed the AYCE fish with us each having the cod and walleye, respectively. We didn't have drinks, but the food prices were reasonable. Clientele was a great mix of old, young, couples and families. Everyone seemed very comfortable and having fun. It is very laid back. Been driving by for years and wish I would have stopped in sooner. Will definitely be back. read more

We stopped into Harold's yesterday for lunch and we're so grateful they got us in right away in the dining area because of the game! We got the totachos which were crispy and so good especially with the chipotle ranch to start. Meals ordered were the hang over burger, Philly style steak sammie, bbq burger, and chili! Everything was sooo freakin good! I always love eating here and it's been awhile but I usually get a burger and I'm actually glad I got chili because it was so dang good and flavorful :) We also shared the peach cobbler and it was really good! Not too sweet and a good amount of peaches and cake inside. Drinks were also good! Hubby got a cave creek bourbon and two of us got the blackberry peach fizz and that was yummy! Second time I have been here. The time was prime rib it was superb. I believe this meal even better; slices beef brisket and garlic spinach both were exceptionally good. Service was great glasses were never empty. It like a cowboy dive bar with music and great food. read more

Service was great. Atmosphere is great. We were a party of 5 for lunch. All was super except one thing. I believe they use good quality ground beef and it is very lean. It is lean to the point that the hamburgers actually taste dry. There is no juice taste. You have to add a lot of topping to juice it up. read more

Having great luck on Steak & Decided to try Harold's Started with the Prickly Pear Infusion which was ok. Ordered the Coconut Shrimp Basket with Sweet Potato Fries. I couldn't really taste the sweet from the coconut. The shrimp were big and good. The orange marmalade helped. The Baseball Sirloin with Jack Daniel's Garlic Marinade was awful. So salty. It just ruined the steak. I didn't want to buy a filet before trying a sirloin and it was the only option. I thought it was a terrible choice for a decent steak. The potatoes & gravy were bland. The service was terrible. There was a game on and it was Monday, but not terribly busy. The service was mainly visiting and just not very good with the tables. I wouldn't recommend & I didn't return. But | Don't try to use their public WiFi , it's been broken for 20 years , let's you connect but but goes nowhere and just wastes your time .... Cavecreek AZ: Took my Steelers fan friends here for a Steelers game. It's a crazy busy Steelers game watch location. Very loud. Ok service. Food options (mostly bar food) burgers, fish/chips, chicken wings, quesadillas. Nothing fancy. The inside bar & outside bar were soooooooo busy. It took awhile to get the attention of a bartender, to order a drink. We just had drinks & then went and had dinner at a more upscale place. It was fun to watch (win) the Steelers game there. There are other venues in the close vicinity: Buffalo Chip/Horny Toad/Hideaway/Roadhouse if you wanted to mingle on the area. read more

If you're into a classic country vibe with an amazing menu, then this is your place. Service is always great here. Steaks are always a great option, but they have other wonderful menu items as well. A very unique, cowboy desert who down experience with pretty decent barbecue menu and a whole lot of other food to choose from covering all of your bases. Certainly a genuine experience with karaoke, alive, country band, and the proper ambience of picnic table atmosphere and sloppy barbecue. Prices were very admirable, and the service was decent. My husband and I were at Harold's in Cave Creek yesterday, there was a server with hair down past her waist, her hair was not tied back or braided, just left hanging down. she was standing at the bar service area scratching her head and fluffing her hair (didn't wash her hands after, either). It made me sick ! Why can't people follow the health code education they should have received? I don't like your hair in my food, on my plate, or on the table!! I don't like your dander on my plate, in my food, or any where near where I am eating or drinking!!! Too many places nowadays think it is alright, IT IS DISGUSTING!! read more

Have been to Harold's a few times in the past week. Went for lunch and a light dinner. Weren't real hungry so we saw that Harold's had loaded bake potatoes, they were medium size but perfect , delicious. Service both times was excellent and keep bringing us back. Today for lunch, got the fried chicken, mashed potato's, salad , all were excellent. Wife had the cup of pea soup and salad- she loved both of them. Food - 4 stars, Service - 5, Ambiance - 4. Had an urge for a burger and ended up with a Patty Melt and fries for a quick lunch. Pretty classic bar food - my burger came out a perfect medium, nice and juicy, on crunchy toasted rye bread with chunks of grilled onion. Bottom toast got a little soggy on the juices, but overall good flavor. The fries were top notch - crispy exterior with fluffy insides. Came with a separate slice of tomato and a bit of limp lettuce - more decorative than useful on a Patty Melt, so I didn't bother trying to eat it. Seating was immediate - there are lots of tables. Service was friendly and prompt. The food came in +/-10 min and was nice and hot. Ambiance is classic old-school western bar with wood everywhere and kitschy nicknacks nailed to the walls and ceiling. There is a front bar by the entry and a back bar that serves both inside and out. Lots of tables with red and white checked tablecloths. Plenty of outdoor seating on the wrap-around covered deck. I've never been here on the weekends, but driving by will usually find the parking lot packed. It's a classic Cave Creek institution that been here forever. Wish I had snapped some pics with my camera. This place is a must see when in this town. Really enjoyed the vibe - it's huge. There's outdoor seating if you bring your dog or you just want to be outside; there's a really cool bar inside which I would've loved to popped in and "belly- upped to" Ordered fried pickles and a delicious chopped Cobb salad and of course WHISKEY and Prickly Pear margarita. I just found out (while typing my review) that the manager of this place died suddenly (Joe) and while we were here, they had a memorial service for him. (We asked) That was just lovely. Rest his soul. Our bartender Jeremiah was spectacular and I'm so happy he's here to wait on us even though it's a sad day. read more

Shortly after a trip with grandkids to Tombstone, we went to lunch on St. Patrick's Day to Harold's which continued with the cowboy theme which the grandkids loved. The place was decked out for St. Patricks. Had lunch and we all enjoyed the food. Nothing fancy but solid. Hamburgers, mac & cheese, fish tacos and grilled cheese were hits . Harold's Corral was my first stop after getting in from the airport for a few days of golf. I like to order local beers when traveling and had a Kiln Lifter local draft. It is a locally brewed brown ale with a slight bourbon finish. It was delicious!! For lunch, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado. I was trying to get my veggies and asked for lettuce and tomato on the sandwich. The bartender said it was on the side. I think she meant it was a garnish since it was on the side with cole slaw on it. The sandwich was very short on chicken and the cole slaw was very sweet, almost like they used sugar water on cut cabbage. The meal was ok and the bartender didn't seem too interested in conversation. Harold's is probably a fun bar for locals and the golfing crowd, but not somewhere I'd recommend. read more

Atmosphere and waiting staff are amazing. However, the security staff here are not professional! All the security here are young men with huge egos! These young men are poorly trained, in fact I don't think they give them any training at all. I think they just toss them a security shirt and send them out on the floor... Security are meant to prevent an incident. The security staff here are more likely to cause an incident. Other than the unprofessional/poorly trained security team/staff. This is a great place to check out a Steelers game! Like I said before the atmosphere and waiting staff are amazing! The food is OK/med. If possible avoid any interaction with the security staff.
