Drove almost an hour to meet friends for brunch. Coffee was warm but not hot. Breakfast potatoes room temp. Huevos rancheros were ok. Stopped in for the first time on a Friday during lunch while visiting the area. The parking lot was busy so figured we'd give it a try. We were seated in the lounge area & our server was Margaret. We started with drinks hubby ordered tea without lemon (he got lemon dropped in the tea) & I ordered the Rodeo Star Martini (passion fruit) my drink was tasty. The bar area was kinda busy obviously having several regular customers occupying many of the seats, sports quietly playing on the tv and the regular dining area was also occupied by various tables a good start to a Friday lunch crowd. The decor was typical western bar themed. We made a few inquiries about the menu and then placed our orders. Hubby ordered the ribeye with fries (he has a severe dairy allergy) this was a safe choice even though he was advised that cross contamination was a possibility. I ordered the prime rib street tacos. Our food arrived within a decent time frame. Hubby's meal was ok, the steak was smaller than we expected especially for the price (we were expecting a dinner sized steak not a breakfast sized steak) the seasoning was ok & the fries were nothing to write home about just pre-seasoned fries. My tacos were ok. There was plenty of meat & toppings but the meat lacked any real flavor. The green salsa was ok & the red tasted strongly of tomato & not much else. Kiwanis celebrated the holidays at Harold's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a great turnout, good food and live music from the Whiskey Lizards.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While we listened to music, I got a free popcorn. We are officially old people. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was pretty loud and good. It was hard to have a conversation with anybody though[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Once dinner was ready, various tables were called to get their plates of food. It was very orderly, and there was plenty to eat. They offered a green salad, roasted potatoes, asparagus, salmon,roast beef and rolls with butter. A tasty meal. After the dinner, it was a raffle and prizes. All in all a nice evening. We stopped into Harold's yesterday for lunch and we're so grateful they got us in right away in the dining area because of the game! We got the totachos which were crispy and so good especially with the chipotle ranch to start. Meals ordered were the hang over burger, Philly style steak sammie, bbq burger, and chili! Everything was sooo freakin good! I always love eating here and it's been awhile but I usually get a burger and I'm actually glad I got chili because it was so dang good and flavorful :) We also shared the peach cobbler and it was really good! Not too sweet and a good amount of peaches and cake inside. Drinks were also good! Hubby got a cave creek bourbon and two of us got the blackberry peach fizz and that was yummy! Second time I have been here. The time was prime rib it was superb. I believe this meal even better; slices beef brisket and garlic spinach both were exceptionally good. Having great luck on Steak & Decided to try Harold's Started with the Prickly Pear Infusion which was ok. Ordered the Coconut Shrimp Basket with Sweet Potato Fries. I couldn't really taste the sweet from the coconut. The shrimp were big and good. The orange marmalade helped. The Baseball Sirloin with Jack Daniel's Garlic Marinade was awful. So salty. It just ruined the steak. I didn't want to buy a filet before trying a sirloin and it was the only option. I thought it was a terrible choice for a decent steak. The potatoes & gravy were bland. The service was terrible. There was a game on and it was Monday, but not terribly busy. The service was mainly visiting and just not very good with the tables. I wouldn't recommend & I didn't return. If you're into a classic country vibe with an amazing menu, then this is your place. Service is always great here. Steaks are always a great option, but they have other wonderful menu items as well. Service was friendly and prompt. The food came in +/-10 min and was nice and hot. Wish I had snapped some pics with my camera. This place is a must see when in this town. Really enjoyed the vibe - it's huge. There's outdoor seating if you bring your dog or you just want to be outside; there's a really cool bar inside which I would've loved to popped in and "belly- upped to" Ordered fried pickles and a delicious chopped Cobb salad and of course WHISKEY and Prickly Pear margarita. I just found out (while typing my review) that the manager of this place died suddenly (Joe) and while we were here, they had a memorial service for him. (We asked) That was just lovely. Harold's Corral was my first stop after getting in from the airport for a few days of golf. I like to order local beers when traveling and had a Kiln Lifter local draft. It is a locally brewed brown ale with a slight bourbon finish. It was delicious!! For lunch, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado. I was trying to get my veggies and asked for lettuce and tomato on the sandwich. The bartender said it was on the side. I think she meant it was a garnish since it was on the side with cole slaw on it. The sandwich was very short on chicken and the cole slaw was very sweet, almost like they used sugar water on cut cabbage. I really loved Harold's! First off, I appreciate that they have a clear separation between the bar area for adults and a family-friendly dining area, it makes the place work for both a night out and a family meal. The space is huge, and honestly, it looks so much bigger on the inside than it does from the outside. The atmosphere gave me so much nostalgia with the fortune teller machines, I was so excited to experience something like that with my daughter. On top of that, they've got a huge menu, arcade games, and delicious food and drinks. And I have to mention the popcorn machine, self-serve! This was amazing for my cranky post-church 4YO, and I can totally see how clutch this would come in for adults after a couple of drinks. My daughter ordered spaghetti, and the sauce was seriously so good. My husband had a Philly sandwich and ate every last bite. I tried the nachos and while I probably wouldn't order them again since they were a little burnt, it's definitely nothing that would keep me from coming back and trying something else on the menu. They bring you sour cream and salsa on the side. If I lived here this would be my go to meal at this restaurant. Hubby ordered a burger, medium. It was overcooked but we didn't send it back. Hence the four stars. He lived the fries that came with the burger. I also ordered sweet potato fries and they were actually waffle fries as a side. I prefer regular SP fries.
