That level of honesty is pretty rare. They could easily have kept the work in-house or added a layer of profit, but instead they focused on what was best for me as the customer. They also followed up several times by email to make sure everything was going smoothly and that I was happy with the outcome. Great customer service and a company that clearly values long-term relationships over short-term profit. Highly recommended.

They gave us a sliding scale depending on labor for specific jobs. When they invoiced us, they included receipts for parts... this is something that we rarely see but it creates a sense of trust and honesty. There are no surprises. Our first job was a lesser, more simple, job-we had at few sockets replaced one of which was a very loose socket that we were concerned about arcing. The second job was more extensive as there were several "needs" in one day. They replaced overhead light fixtures (3 of them), replaced an old and VERY outdated (probably from when our house was built over 35 years ago!) smoke/fire alarm, and installed bedside wall mounted lights. They are GORGEOUS!! On their third visit soon, we will have heated flooring in our master bedroom installed. B. Henry's Quality Electric is the place to go for your electrical needs. The team is nothing but helpful, and professional. They are community oriented and are always there to help when you have an electrical need. It's nice to have an Electrician that you can trust especially when it gets to be overwhelming not knowing what needs to be fixed. Did a complete Attic clean up and R44 blow in insulation & in wall insulation for an old 1959…read morehouse. I would say, they did an excellent job - Starting with Jeremy, who accommodated my schedule for preliminary inspect and gave me a on the spot quote. Elder and the guys did an excellent job in covering up the entire house and finished the job in 2 days. My house had no insulation in the walls- to very less in the attic. After the insulation my Heat as well as Cold is retained inside the house. Heat turns on once in a 24 Hr cycle vs multiple times in an hour previously. If you are thinking of in wall insulation, it's totally worth it. The quote was the most competitive and they were very flexible. I am still closing out the multiple holes in the wall, will take time as i prefer to do it myself- I had plans to paint anyway .

I was initially impressed with what seemed like a thorough and well-considered estimate. It felt…read morelike the team really evaluated my attic and cooling needs. The addition of two QuietCool fans also seemed like a major plus, as I was already familiar with the product and expected it would significantly help with cooling. When it came to the insulation work, I was very pleased. The crew did an excellent job removing the old insulation and installing the new. They worked efficiently, protected my floors well, and ensured that no insulation debris entered the living areas. That part of the job was handled professionally. However, I was less impressed with the radiant barrier installation. This may partly be due to a misunderstanding on my end, as I expected a different type of material, but the end result did not meet my expectations. The biggest issue, unfortunately, was the installation of the fans. At best, it was very poorly executed. The fans are 16" units with 12" duct openings, yet they were installed directly against the gables, which severely restricts airflow. Proper installation should have included a box or shroud to help direct airflow effectively through the fans. Because of this poor airflow, the fans do not cool the attic--in fact, they appear to make things worse. I can actually watch the temperature on the thermostat increase when the fans are turned on. I reached out to my representative multiple times, but the response was disappointing. I was told they could not take the fans back, and when I asked why the attic temperature increases when they are running, I was told there was no explanation and nothing further could be done. As temperatures continue to rise, I'm left frustrated that I spent $1,200 on two fans that perform the opposite of what was promised, with no meaningful support or resolution offered. UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I was contacted by both the project manager and the owner. I reiterated the reasons for my frustration, explaining that my review reflected my honest impression of what I saw as a lack of clear communication and effective management of the project and customer expectations. The project manager apologized for the communication breakdown and asked if I would be open to giving them an opportunity to make things right. A technician was then sent out, and he took the time to fully understand the issue, carefully examine the installation, and make several adjustments to the original work. He believes these changes will help improve airflow in the attic. Since my attic has some unique characteristics, he also provided helpful suggestions for additional ways to improve cooling and airflow--something I feel should have been addressed during the initial planning stage of the project. Whether these changes will result in significant improvement remains to be seen; I'll have a better sense once the weather warms up. I do appreciate the follow-up and the willingness of the project manager to reach out and try to make things right, and I have updated my review accordingly. That said, I want to be clear that the increase in my rating is largely due to the technician and the time he invested in evaluating the full situation, as well as both implementing and proposing thoughtful solutions.

After 34 years of faithful service, our Subzero refrigerator and freezer recently needed to be…read morereplaced. I stopped by Tee Vax to look at the new Subzero models they had available. I was fortunate enough to meet Richard Landen while I was there. Richard was very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. I told Richard I needed to discuss a few of the model options with my wife, and I'd call him with a decision within a week. I phoned Richard a few days later, and told him which model Subzero we wanted to order. He couldn't have made the whole purchase any easier. Richard emailed me the receipt, and told me the new Subzero would be available for pickup in a few days. Richard was kind enough to inform me that if I selected a certified installer Subzero adds an extra year to the warranty! So I figured I had better do just that, and I went with Top Tier Appliance Installations which is owned by John Yeager. If there was ever an appropriately named business, it's John's business! John and his crew really were top tier! From keeping me apprised of their arrival time to protecting my floors removing the old SubZero, to being diligent as they carefully lugged these 800 pound machines (both the old Subzero and the new Subzero) up and down my stairs without damaging my home! The installation job they did on my new Subzero was spectacular! I would highly recommend John and his team without reservation! I'm a very particular guy, and John and his team are definitely welcome back in my home anytime. Going forward, anytime I need new appliances, I will be calling Richard at Tee Vax to buy them, and John at Top Tier Appliance Installations to install them!

Now that the Holidays are behind us, I can finally write this review. Long story short, we had a…read morepipe break under our main bathroom which also involved sewage. Following the remediation work authorized by the insurance company, we decided that this unfortunate event gave us the opportunity to completely remodel our all original 1961 bathroom. I began looking for contractors and reading the reviews on Yelp. I selected three, two from Yelp and one which was a referral. Uriah, owner of Hawkins Remodeling & Repair, responded quickly to my request and set up a date and time that worked wonderfully with our schedule. He arrived as scheduled and we toured my complete wreck of a bathroom. He took measurements, pictures and we talked all while he took notes of everything including what our vision was. He asked questions and offered suggestions including installing a new bathroom door. Uriah sent back a proposal just a couple days later and while I was still waiting for the last contractor. In the end, we just liked everything Uriah and his company had to offer and selected them for the remodel. We agreed on a start date the Monday following Thanksgiving. Uriah asked if he could come over the on the weekend prior to drop of the dump trailer as the bathroom was going to be gutted with a lot of debris, so this made perfect sense. On Monday, Uriah and his team members, Carlos and Miguel, showed up promptly and right away began working by masking all the carpeted area with plastic sheeting where they would be travelling on. They also set up their 'shop' in our backyard for the duration of the project. Every day I came home to an extensive transformation. We had a lot going on in this little old bathroom including a faux divider wall removed, replacing the window with an obscure double pane window, which I asked for at the last minute. They were also moving electrical outlets and extending the plumbing height to accommodate our new fixtures but more so for all the tall bodies living in our house. They removed our existing cast iron bathtub, preserving it as we were having it refinished, so they removed it entirely so they could reinforce the main beams and redo the subfloor. Do you know how heavy those tubs are? Also, did I mention that this was a 1961 original AND was built on adobe? This means nothing in our home is level! Carlos and Miguel handled every challenge that was thrown their way. Uriah checked in with me on a regular basis and discussed any potential problems or issues that his team discovered and offered suggestions or solutions. It was very refreshing to know they just wanted it done right and for us to be completely satisfied. Near the end, we had the tub resurfaced and no one was allowed in the bathroom for two days following as it needed to cure. I didn't want to lose them for a that time, so I asked Uriah if they could replace our back patio slider, which too was old in need of replacing. He quickly gave me a bid, I accepted, and the team installed a beautiful new patio slider. It should be noted that it was pouring rain too! They came to finish up on the final pieces and what an amazing Christmas gift it was! I can't recommend Hawkins Remodeling & Repair enough. They truly transformed a "beast" into a "beauty".
