The outdoor space is on an incline making it awkward to eat on a slope since they've created more outdoor parking. The food is always delicious but everything was on the drier side this time. Had a fantastic dinner here the other night and we all left raving about the food, and everyone had different dishes. The place was empty when we got there, and basically had a private dining experience. To start with hummus and a bread basket is a treat, I've never seen that anywhere else, nice touch. We ordered the pre-fix which is a great deal, 3 courses for $50, and we went to town. The Zucchini chips were lighlty fried and fresh to dip in Tzatziki and Marinara. The Cesar was very good, not too cheesy or creamy. For the main I had the Salmon with Fennell and Spinach. Filling piece of fish, not too salty, but what really was good to have was the Whipped Mash Potatoes, that is a must have. The Sole Francaise had raves, as well as the Chicken Parm with Pasta. Came here for dinner on a weekday. The dinner experience at Long Island's haunted restaurant exceeded our expectations. The place was exactly what we were looking for... Inexpensive, beautiful, and romantic atmosphere! The breathtaking view from across the street, overlooking the water on a warm summer day, was lovely. Although the restaurant was busy, we chose to dine on the outdoor patio, which featured a tent to protect against the rain. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the clams and sauce were perfect. Notably, they provide accommodations for gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free diets. Although we didn't witness any ghostly apparitions or spirits during our outdoor dinner, the staff revealed that paranormal phenomena can occasionally be observed indoors. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning. read more

It's a strong three, I've been here three or four times. Nice views, decent service...but there's something that keeps me from giving four stars. Was here with a large group Meatballs were tender, toothsome, well cooked, seasoned nicely with a little kick. Would order again for sure. Chicken parm did not seem pounded but was perfectly tender and a more than adequate portion. The crust was strongly adherent and crisp. Seasoning was very nice. Pork Chop was cooked perfectly and had a nice crusted piece of cheese atop it and on this crust rested a medley of hot peppers and garlic. A stupendous dish. My gripe--the potatoes and chop was sitting in what seemed to be oil. Maybe it was juice but that juice looked like oil to me. Service was great...I mean really really great! Good lighting but here during day! Acoustics were tough and hard for me to hear and be heard. Maybe because we were in a large group? Enjoyed a Saturday brunch here today. We got the lobster roll and surf and turf specials and the Harbor Mist cocktail and Paloma cocktails. Also crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was delicious! They made the lobster roll with butter which I heard my bf say was delicious. Also the surf and turk was a chicken sandwich with soft shell crab. It was very good. I enjoyed the Paloma cocktail. The harbor mist was good but sweet which my bf liked. The crème brûlée was also very delicious and a bit lemony. The view was nice but our corner got a little too sunny sometimes. The only thing that was annoying was that they always come back asking if we want more things every few minutes. They rushed my bf into another cocktail and us into desserts. The restaurant wasn't that crowded at all so I don't understand why the service was kind of pushy. The food and views were good and the service was good at first but then it seemed pushy because it was every few minutes someone would check in on us and ask if we want anything else. Also there was a surcharge on using credit card that was annoying. Other than that, it was a nice place. read more

The hostess at Harbor Mist was wonderful. We made our reservation on Open Table and asked for a 2nd floor window view and got a text message that they were full and could not guarantee the window. We received a confirmation call morning of and were told the same thing. Once we checked in the hostess said I've got you and gave us a wonderful seat. We had a very nice waiter, but was definitely over worked and did not pay enough attention to make it an enjoyable night. He did apologize about the kitchen being backed up and we had a leisurely 2.5 hour meal. Not our choice. Did not see any tables turning over either. I guess big staffing issues. Food was good but not great. Roast beef special was a 1/2 cut with a baked potato a little bigger than a jumbo egg. I have actually had a bigger prime rib and baked potato at Outback Steakhouse that was about 30% cheaper and almost as good. Not worth the price, but tasted good. Great Caesar salad, decent baked clams and desserts by Bindi always good. All in all a good meal, decent service, but there are too many better restaurants to try than to come back here for dinner again. Maybe try lunch one day. Glad we came. Would tell others it's good. We are fairly large (25-35 persons) group who have had our end of season dinner at the Harbor Mist for the past 5 years. Ramon and Javier are absolutely fantastic in the planning and pricing, the waiters courteous and attentive, the food awesome whether it be beef, chicken or fish, the sides and salads fresh and tasty, and the desserts are to die for. All in all, very much worth the price! Parking is rather convenient, 2 lots, handicapped accessible. Whether outside, inside or on the second floor, the view and ambiance are wonderful. The view of the harbor during the winter after snow is worthy of a Currier and Ives print! One of the best restaurants in an area of fine restaurants! read more

Sat outside which is fine but in the parking lot on a tilt , at the bar which has a quaint feel , and in the upstairs dining room which I preferred the most. The food is fine, nothing special. Food was good but I will NEVER go back to this place again! Made a 6:30 reservation and when we arrived there was literally 2 tables with guests. I asked for the window seat in the corner. There are 2 of these over looking the water and perfect for a quiet 2 person meal. The rude hostess told me we couldn't sit there as they were reserved. She then lied and said she'd check to confirm they were reserved and move using not. Well when we left at 7:40 both tables remained empty!!! We had gone to celebrate my wife's 60th. What should have been a great experience was darkened by the hostess and her lies! Never again! read more

After a 6 mile hike in cold spring harbor park, we decided to try Harbor Mist ! It's located across from the water and has outside seating . We were under a tent with a view of the harbor. Our server was lovely , had good knowledge of the menu and was perfectly attentive . The food was excellent ! Bread and hummus was quickly dropped on the table . We followed with buffalo cauliflower bites . They were lightly breaded and fried to perfection . Last but not least the " power salad " ( +feta) lightly dressed with oil and vinegar . Each component crispy and fresh . I can't wait to go back ! Our new favorite place . I included the menu which, for me has endless options !!!! Great view across the street with ample parking for outdoor and indoor seating, but I probably won't be back given the food isn't memorable. Haven't had steamed mussels that are old and not tender in ages to the point that you wonder what you're eating. The rack of lamb was charred black to the point of worrying about carcinogens. For an Italian seafood restaurant, even the cold, stale bread and over-fried sweet potato fries couldn't save them. The only saving graces we're the hummus with paprika and olive oil, New England clam chowder, meatballs with ricotta cheese, and Thai calamari. Let's not forget the Peroni Italian beer." That was easy to drink. Service was ok except they forgot an order and then seemed to overcook a medium rare rack of lamb. The HARBOR mist was fabulous. I stumbled across this restaurant after visiting the Vanderbilt Museum on my birthday. The place is a gem. Amazing drinks and food. It is right by the water so has an amazing view especially from the second floor by the window. The servers were also attentive and great. Drinks were $15 each for the cocktails we got: lychee martini, passion fruit martini, pineapple were all amazing. We got the 1 1/2 lb lobster steamed and with stuffed crab and shrimp - it was great but if you love lobster we recommend going without the crab and shrimp as it tastes good but can overpower. The Linguini Seafood Fra Diavolo was the tables favorite of the night. Sauteed Sole Franchese was great and even my kids liked it. The 16oz Char-Grilled Prime Sirloin Steak was tender and surprisingly good for a seafood main restaurant. Macaroni & Cheese was polished off by the kids. Parmesan Truffle Fries is a definite recommend. And the Heirloom Tomato Caprese was the perfect way to balance with everything we had. Both the salmon and the sole franchisee were amazing. read more

Came to celebrate my friends birthday last week and absolutely loved this place! Easy to park, they have their own parking lot, ambiance was cute outside and inside. It was so cold so we ate inside. Location is great right by the water but unfortunately we didn't have a view since we came at night and in January :) The food and drinks were great. Waitress was very friendly, we had the Thai calamari, New England clam chowder soup (really good, no wonder it's one of their popular things on their menu), meatballs also very good! I had Sesame tuna which was good but the menu said it would come with wasabi vinaigrette which it didn't but rather wasabi and ginger on the side so I guess that's what they meant. Celebrated a 75th Birthday last night and we couldn't have been happier! Let's start with the view... we sat upstairs and it's beautiful to look out onto the harbor. The wait staff is so attentive and our dinner was excellent! We started with appetizers; eggplant rollatini was delicious, so was the mussels in white sauce ( and so plentiful!!)! The sole francese and the linguini with white clam sauce exceptional! I love the bread service, the most delicious offerings.. those pita chips and hummus.. over the top!
