I was not due for an eye exam for three months which is when my insurance will cover. I had been prescribed weekly lenses, but i was not using them for the whole week so it was a waste. I wanted to change to daily lenses. They refused stating I need a new eye exam. I would have to pay for the eye exam out of pocket because it was too soon, and it is also a huge inconvenience. I felt violated. Run Away!! About a year ago, I got the worst pair of glasses I ever had, at this store. The eye exam was fine, easy peasy, afterwards, they put me at a desk where the carnage began. Right out of the gate, she tried to get me to order a $1200 pair of glasses. And she was closing the deal hard. Made me feel like a dick trying to understand all the different options. It turns out, I bought the cheapest $450 pair of glasses, the 'good' part of the lens is so small, if you look to the left or right, you can't see anything unless you actually turn your head. The lenses got a little better each additional $200 you added to the price. Holy crap, what a ripoff. I've hated these glasses from day one. I just bought 2 new great pair from Costco, for less than this store robbed me for a single horrible pair. Run away as fast as you can. read more

When I was purchasing my new glasses, about 6 months ago, they presented me with the option of adding a protection plan (approx. $85). I was willing to add it, but me and partner both asked questions about it, including if they would be covered if they were lost, not just broken. So here we are, glasses lost, and the manager claims that nobody there would have ever said the plan covers lost or stolen and was essentially gaslighting me, telling me it didn't happen and wouldn't ever happen. So please beware that they will lie to you to get you to pay more and were clearly preying on my concern over frequently losing things (my own fault) and the manager will immediately side with and cover up the teams lies. I assure you that I was as polite and respectful as can be, and she went straight to saying that that they couldn't have possibly said that to me. My partner was with me and also clearly remembers us asking about lost/stolen coverage and that being what us purchasing the protection plan was contingent on. Long story short, they were were dishonest, and then dishonest about their dishonesty even to the point of being accusatory. They have lost my respect and business and hope everyone takes this into consideration before trusting Pearle Vison Lake Zurich with your eye care needs. read more

Aetna I have been a patient/client? of this Pearle vision for well over 15 years; and even six months ago, I would have given them an excellent review. I belong to an PPO for which my company account was merged with a medicare account. This seemed perfectly acceptable for the said 15++ years. However, I began experiencing a very frightening visual issue and attempted to make an appointment with an Optometrist. Despite my long patronage (with the SAME insurance); the person I spoke with stated in a condescending and rather nasty manner, that they didn't accept ANY kind of Medicare and refused service, unless I chose to pay the charges out of pocket (which they estimated at $200 or $300 for the examination) and referred me to a Pearle vision over half an hour to 45 minutes away who would accept 'medicare patients' like me. I was referred by my primary physician to another optometrist, less than 10 minutes away from me, who accepted my insurance. I am extremely happy with his expertise, up-to-date knowledge, cutting edge diagnostic equipment and referral network. read more

I have been a customer for over 20 years at the Lake Zurich location along with my family. I just picked up my new glasses 8 days ago. The nose piece was loose and needed adjustment, replacement, something. I was told all I wanted was something free. Well, all I wanted was the brand new frames fixed. Something, I assumed, would take about 30 seconds. I tried speaking with the manager Dawn, who was never around. There is a warranty that should have covered such a thing. Why a comment like that was made to me I have no idea. I would regularly go in about every two months for an adjustment. It is just the nature of glasses. Well they refuse to help me out. Went to corporate and only got the run around via email. Once again unable to speak to anyone. I now see clearly how rude and unprofessional Pearl Vision is. read more

Went here because I heard about the buy one get one 1/2 off deal (looking for a new pair of prescription sunglasses and backup pair of eyeglasses). When I came in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. After asking a few questions about what I was looking for, I decided that I was only going to get sunglasses. They were not trying to upsell me and talk me into the second pair. Went through the different offers they had going and I ended up going with the one pair 30% off deal. Refreshing to have a friendly and honest staff help in the decision making. Sunglasses came back within 3 days and look/feel great. I got three pairs of new glasses here so far. And I had adjustments made on couple of those. I have no complaints. I don't think Pearl Vision is the cheapest place in town to get glasses but I don't mind paying a little extra if I'm getting good and reliable service and that is what I have experienced at the Lake Zurich Pearl Vision store. I'll be going back in a few weeks to get an annual eye check-up and maybe some new glasses. read more

I don't normally go to this location because it's closed on Sundays. But it's on my way to work so I thought I'd give it a try. I called in a refill for contact lenses and asked them to get my Rx from another Pearle Vision. They told me they would call me when they came in. They called me the very next day. Except they weren't looking for me. They thought my number was the number of the other Pearle vision store. When I explained to them that I was the customer, they apologized and said they would call me back. They never did. I called them the next week and no one answered the phone, despite it being during business hours. I left a message and asked them to call me back. Still nothing. It's been two weeks now and I haven't heard a thing. Terrible customer service and bad hours. What more could you want? read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I ordered a trial pair of contacts, and after a month, I still hadn't heard from them. I called and they stated they should be in in the next three days. After two more weeks of not hearing from them I decided to go in and see what is happening. I waited 10 minutes while the woman at the front desk on the phone talked about how terrible her employee was and would not trust him to do anything in the store because he has no social skills. I finally stood in front of her to ask where my contacts were, and she yelled for someone else to come assist me. When the other associate was trying to assist me, the phone kept ringing, but she kept talking about how the employee is not professional enough and doesn't know if he will be able to stay with the company. After the other client on the phone was taken care of, the associate told me my contacts were not in yet but should be in soon. I insisted they call for an update and when he did, he found out my contacts were never ordered. He then asked the woman for assistance with my order and she ignored him because now she was talking about her vacation next week and how excited she is. I had to wait another ten minutes for her to get off the phone to assist him. She then tried to get me to pay for my contacts, different than what the doctor recommended, and I refused until I talked to the doctor. So I waited 45 minutes to be told the doctor will call me later. As I am walking out they then jokingly asked me who I got my terrible vision from, my mom or dad. This facility is rude, unprofessional and doesn't care about their clients. read more
