Nice frames - very little service for $900 glasses. The sales women sold me a protection plan for one year. The fee was paid for with the glasses. When I picked up glasses there was a card in the bag describing the plan saying the plan covers 70% - I said "you never mentioned the 70%". She said "sorry" and dismissively. ABSOLUTELY no exchange or refund - even though order not processed even 10 minutes after you walk out the door - so please be sure you love what you order. In a nutshell/ they have nice frames but they are somewhat dismissive once they get your money/ go to Superior Optical in Glenview or Rosins / lesson learned / hope this review helps someone. read more

Unfortunately, after being a customer here for over a very long time. I will not be returning. I had called to order more contacts, the lady i spoke to on the phone had quoted me for 6 months supply for $69. I give her my card info and pay. When I go pick them up and they say that I had paid for 3 month not a 6 month supply. I had already paid on the phone and it's "all sales are final". I asked the lady for my prescription and left. I go to Sam's where they gave me a 6 month supply for $75. For the SAME contacts. SAME brand and everything. I honestly feel so cheated out of my money. Dr Kats is super knowledgeable and took her time examining my eyes and explaining everything as she went. I waked out of the office feeling informed and confident which is exactly what everyone should feel like after a doctor's exam. The pair of glasses frames were reasonably priced (my insurance covered pretty much all of it) and the service was great. Everyone was accommodating and pleasant. This is not the first time I'm at Eye Q BG. This time it's during Covid. The place is clean, Covid conscious, excellent service, very pleasant staff. Natalya was great, very attentive. Dr. Kacharova is very professional yet extremely pleasant. The whole appointment took 30 min (including lense fitting), no wait time whatsoever. My vision changed slightly since my last appointment. They offered me trial contacts with the new correction before ordering lenses so I can see the difference. All-in-all, a great experience and I will definitely come back. I went for my annual check and the doctor recommended blue light protection glasses which I could purchase in the store. Doctor was attentive and professional, answered all of my questions and concerns. However, the sales portion is what left me with no desire to ever go back. Not to go into too many details but the main part is all sales are final and they do not disclose this prior to sale. I feel like I got swindled into purchasing the most expensive lenses which I don't need and when I tried to cancel or modify the order the next day, I was told that that it is not possible. read more

Went there the other day to get my contacts, and they switched up my left and right contacts on each other 3 times, to the point where my eyes were very irritated. Also wait time was crazy long having to wait more than an hour for my scheduled appointment. Even further, my mask kept slipping off my nose, but before it fell I was able to move it back on. But still she decides to wrap tape around my nose. There is no logical point there, and is plain rude and "dehumanizing" per se. read more

Interesting that a year later, the owner writes to say Im lying. I specifically spoke to the guy at the counter, who told me that while they do offer glasses for 100, my prescription, with the few frames I liked, would run over a grand. It's cool - I'm sure some very wealthy clients are happy to pay through the nose. I went to another place and got a pair I love for less than 200. You may offer a few inexpensive frames, but I sure didn't like any of them and your employee was rude and short with me. read more

I have 20/20 vision and had never bought glasses before. I wanted a pair of nice sunglasses, but could never find anything that fit right. I heard that EyeQ had a good selection of eye wear and thought I'd stop in and take a look. The staff was very helpful and not pushy. They had a great selection and I'm happy to say I have the best pair of sunglasses ever and am very happy with the price. Narmina helped me pick out a style that fit me inside and out. Dr Kats is AWESOME. I thought it was odd that my old provider gave me a stronger eyeglass script with equal sight on both eyes, especially after wear glasses and contacts for 17 years. She did an EXTREMELY thorough exam and found that my current prescription was TOO STRONG AND JUST PLAIN WRONG!!!! Thank you for correcting my vision after a 2 year FAIL. I am a city type living in the suburbs. When my glasses broke I looked all over for an eyewear place that had high ratings outside of Chicago. I couldn't find anything. So I tried this place a couple blocks from my house. I walked in just to see what they had and Hector noticed me looking lost and asked if I wanted help choosing some glasses. He was awesome. A great attitude and wonderful taste. Every pair he chose for me nailed what looked good on my face. Add to that my eye exam was fast and great from the doctor there. I got some Oliver Peoples glasses. I was surprised to see that brand there. I will be going back here when I need a new pair. I am very happy. read more

They are so wonderful here I'm inspired to write a review...I've met with both doctors due to an eye emergency (don't abuse your contacts!!) and over the last week they've been amazing at caring for me, squeezing me into their schedules and making sure my eyeball is ok. I have to say this optical store is, by far, the best one I have been to in terms of quality of glasses and selection, too. And I have been to plenty. I don't particularly care for name brands but it is very difficult to ignore them when there are so many pulling you in (I ended up purchasing Ray Ban and Lacoste glasses). The prices are reasonable, and the selection is vast. I liked this store so much that I recommended it to my father. Needless to say, he bought a pair of glasses, too. The shop is trendy, clean, and appealing. The day I visited it sangria was being offered to customers. What can be better than sipping on sangria while shopping? The doctor was extremely informative and offered his insight as to why my eyes were devoid of perfect vision. The owner was sweet and attentive and quite humorous. Her knowledge on glasses is the same as a man's is on football. I always remember the experiences that make me laugh and comfortable, and I most definitely came across that at Eye Q Optique. read more

Would give negative score if possible. The staff is only interested in up-selling, they are combative and rude. I specifically told the "salesperson" that I did NOT want the premium anti-glare and did NOT want poly carbonate. I got both and after arguing for 75 minutes over 2 visits, they fixed them. When I asked for a refund for the difference between the normal plastic lens and normal coating I was told, repeatedly, that because they had to rework the lenses I wasn't getting a refund. Only after another 30 minutes of arguing, did they finally reimburse a portion of what I paid. They constantly lied to me about refunds not possible due to insurance (but eventually gave refund, that the doctor wasn't in (when she was standing right behind them). Horrible, horrible experience. If you must go here, get a detailed, line-item invoice to show what you are paying and what you are paying for! read more

I walked in with my boyfriend and no one greeted us. After 20 minutes of being ignored the next customers to walk in were immediately serviced. The employees were making themselves look busy, but could easily have taken a few seconds to say hello and let us know they would be with us shortly. Awful service... I visited on July 26th, 2014 with Dr Shepelenko. I had a 10:30 appointment and contemplated canceling it because I had plans the next day at 12:30 and was afraid I wouldn't make them. The doctor was extremely friendly, informative, easy to work with, and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. I like the way she briefly explains everything she's doing the purpose of her doing it. You can stick things in my eyes and make me look at weird pictures all day, it's nice to know why I'm actually doing it for once. At the end of my exam, I really appreciated how she made sure the prescription she came up was correct by double checking it the manual way. The only reason I give four stars is because the woman helping me pick out my glasses was trying to rush me. She could have just left me alone and I could've picked them out on my own. I told her I wanted black frames only, she kept trying to give me purple and red and weird color ones. I appreciate the suggestion, but I clearly told her it's not my preference. I finally picked out a pair of Tory Burch frames. I really like them and how they fit on my face. I was a little dissapointed when I looked up the retail price and saw I paid $60 more than what Tory Burch sells them for. But I guess that's what you get from picking them out on a rack without doing much research into them. read more

I can't thank the outstanding staff and doctors over at Eye Q Optique everyone over there was extremely kind and helpful with any questions I had. I saw Dr. Marina Shepelenko, O.D. & her eye exam was very thorough. Not only was she extremely thorough she took the time to explain what she was doing and what they were looking for. After the eye exam she told me what she found. Dr Shepelenko explained to me my results, and made sure I understood what was going on and ways we could fix the issues.
