Very disappointing and unprofessional experience. The staff was extremely unprofessional, and Dr. Linda Bayerkohler was rude and dismissive. There were six staff members who appeared to be doing nothing, yet I was left waiting while they were laughing and talking. It was frustrating to sit there watching staff members seemingly not assisting customers while I waited. Wait time at this location is consistently terrible. Today we were here from 3:05 to 5:08 PM, and we still didn't even get to look at glasses for my 5-year-old. I even arrived almost 30 minutes early, and it made no difference. The employees don't show any sense of urgency, and it was clear they were annoyed by my 2-year-old--despite the long wait not being our fault. Meanwhile, the front supervisor was busy doing inventory instead of helping us, who had already been waiting far too long. I will add that the doctor was great, but the wait time overall makes the whole situation bad. I finally just asked for the prescription and decided to take my business elsewhere. No I do not recommend this place waste of time for my two year old lack of patience and the doctor she seemed so careless when trying to let us retest for my sons eye exam after they dilated his eyes and he was acting fussy they said no. Lack of empathy for a two year old never coming here again. First time coming here and loved how patient and thorough every one was. Front desk agent were kind and the lady who let my son pick out his glasses was very informative and helped break down the cost for all 3 of my son's eye insurances. She made sure I got the best out of my insurances for the lowest amount. For new patients expect the appointment to take almost 2hours because mine was almost 3 hours but that's because my 5yo son wanted to pick his glasses out and the lady explaining everything. After spending several hundred dollars here I talked to a manager about a balance I had and she was rude as hell to me on the phone. I was in Tuesday for repairs on my glasses and the girl I talked to,the one that fixed my glasses said I had a 300 dollar credit and wanted to charge me 578 dollars plus the 300 to put lenses in a pair of frames I bought from them. The manager said there was a misunderstanding that they didn't have any credit for me. She said it was my insurance that had a balance. Ok that's fine but first don't talk to me like I'm stupid! Two of here employees called it a credit and the amount I was quoted is ridiculous because I paid about 600 for the glasses I have now. I will not be returning to this store! There are too many other places I can go for eye test and eyewear. The manager was rude and condescending I don't appreciate being talked to like I'm a frickin child! I was reminded of my appointment at least 6 times via email and text. I'm thinking ok this is overkill but ok. I arrive at 11:30 approximately for 11:40 appointment. Shocked is an understatement, standing room only also I waited to be checked in. I did paperwork on line as requested, when I was checked in I was told more paperwork and to stand to the side to complete! I found a seat and asked the person next to me if they were waiting for an exam, no they are waiting to choose glasses. I finally was call back by a technician after 12:00p. What is the point of all the reminders if appointment isn't kept? Dr Suk came in after maybe a 30 minute wait and is disgraceful, he fired off questions without giving me an opportunity to respond. He walked in saying a new prescription is needed without him doing an exam or looking at the tests the technician had done. When I asked how did he know I needed a new prescription he says everyone age 40-85 needs a new prescription. I took my mom here to get new glasses. When we were checking in the manager was very rude. She wasn't helpful and made it like we were bothering her. I did not appreciate it. It made me want to leave, but I'm glad we did stay because Sarah was great. She made us feel comfortable and was very personable and did her job well too. At the follow up, they quoted me $175 for some diagnostic tests I already had done by a medical doctor that was covered by insurance. But not a complete loss I thought. Since I was there I asked for a renewal on a prescription they had issued the prior year. BTW my eyesight had not changed from the prior year. They refused because the Optometrist only did two of my prescriptions and left out my distance contact prescription. Such a waste of my time. Won't be returning. This place is a complete S-show. I used to be an annual patient at pearl vision but hadn't been since 2020 because my last experience was bad and then when I tried to schedule the call center staff was very rude to me. I recently decided to give them another try and won't be back. For one thing, the doctor's office is poorly ran and you will wait forever and be bounced around. They had me remove my contacts for the final part of the pre exam testing and then said I needed to go to the lobby to wait again for the doctor. This would be fine except I'm super nearsighted and couldn't so much as find an empty chair without contacts. There were a lot of things like that when dealing with this young medical assistant. It is a glasses place and they aren't used to dealing with people who can't see?! Along with trying to upsell me on these extra tests they gave me an offer to buy contacts that made zero sense; it literally doesn't add up. There is better, more transparent pricing on 1800contacts and the rebate was more too. Just based on that alone, I won't be buying my glasses or doing anymore exams. I have been going to this location for over 7 years and never had any problems. On the contrary it has always been simple and seamless. Unfortunately today was not like that. I need my glasses on the daily, since I use them consistently due to getting headaches if I don't wear them. I had my check up about a week ago and I was going to use my previous frames, they were my favorite and they were super cute and very expensive ( Tom Ford) . When I moved forward with getting this process started I was not communicated that I was going to be liable if my glasses were damaged and was not told that the reason I was singing a plain and simple receipt was for that. There was no terms and conditions, I am one to read them because I know what they can contain. That is exactly what happened, my glasses were damaged. Damaged 20 minute after I dropped them off, I went to work thinking everything was going to be okay and that I was only going to drop them off and pick them up right after work so that I can use them when it gets dark. I am an enthusiast and don't think about worst case scenario because I expect those around me to be as careful as I am and diligent as I am, I understand customer service and understand warranties because I have to deal with them all the time. Things happen, I get it! My property was damaged, and it does suck but its a physical item that can be replaced. I did not want to spend another five hundred dollars. Obviously I am still upset that my property was damaged, but what I am truly frustrated about, which has led me to write this. It is the way it was communicated to me and how it was communicated to me. I have never been treated in such a manner. I understand that It is difficult to deliver this type of information, the lady who helped me seemed jaded and is use to delivering bad news, she never empathized with my sucky situation. She communicated that my glasses broke and that I have a couple of options, bring new frames, buy new ones or get a refund. When she told me this with her tone of voice it was like putting salt in a wound and she kept doing it by saying that she understands, saying you signed and by being so matter of fact and assuming that I knew that I had signed such terms. Instead of aligning with the situation and acknowledging that the situation sucks. I am also bummed out that the lady who initially helped me did not tell me that I was going to be liable or at least warn me that my glasses could be damaged. I am so disappointed that I will never come back to this location and I will advice others to never go to this location. To be honest, I will never go to a Pearle Vision, it's too bad because I really liked my OPTOMETRIST. After triple checking that they took my insurance (looking it up on my insurance website, calling the insurance, calling pearle vision) , I made an appointment and filled out all the online paperwork. Once I arrived, they said they couldn't find me using my ssn and that I needed a 'unique ID'. I called my insurance and they said they don't provide a unique ID, that my member ID is the ID number that should be used. After both my insurance and Pearle Vision said they take VSP insurance, it turns out that in fact, they don't. Feels like both companies dropped the ball. So I ended up making an appointment with Larry L Davis, who is just off W Charleston who is a "VSP Premier Edge" provider. read more

Initially when I arrived the gentleman went over my paperwork I completed and I specifically asked what my cost would be. He then reviewed my benefits and stated that my fitting was covered 100% and if there would be any additional charges, it will be between $45 to $89 For a specialty fitting. After my visit I then met with, I believe his name was "Chris". He then explained My cost would be approximately $168 which was quite different from what I heard from the other gentleman. He then apologized and stated the gentleman had quoted me that price as it was not correct, but he would see what he could do. I then showed him the documents I signed which supported what I had explained. I asked for a breakdown of what the additional charges were for. He became a bit passive aggressive and said, although I was correct as I was quoted the incorrect price he will let his supervisor know and see what he could do. I responded that I aggressive. He then responded that he would only charge me what I initially agreed to, but there was still a balance owed that would have to be cleared by his supervisor to be waived. He began to talk really low, almost to a whisperer in such a passive aggressive nature That was a bit, annoying, but as I was already late for work, I did not have time to speak to his supervisor. He said he would have his supervisor reach out, but that has not happened yet! I actually got the feeling I get when you are purchasing a car from shady salesperson... It was quite uncomfortable, but the difference with this is that a car is a want and my contacts are a need. On top of that they sent me a bill for an additional $51.25! It's unfortunate that they are preying on individuals who are at their mercy. I hope that my post helps to change these types of dishonest practices. read more

Alicia made me feel like my children were a nuisance. When I walked into the counter, she immediately came over and asked me to tell my kids not to touch the glasses. She looked annoyed and overwhelmed and had her eyes on my children. I decided to leave immediately as I did not feel comfortable. I've been to many other places, and they have never made me and my children feel this way. My children are not destructive. They are respectful and only curious. I scheduled an appointment, but then I canceled it minutes later and went with another doctor. if that's the way the people in their customer service department treats the patients before they even come in, then I don't want to have anything to do with their doctors or facilities. It is so important to provide good customer service, especially during the initial interaction with a doctor's office. Quality patient service starts with friendly scheduling staff. Jocelyn has undoubtedly lost other patients as a result of her lack of professionalism. If you don't care about customer service during scheduling, then maybe we'll have a good experience in their office. The customer service is horrible. As soon as i sit down with alicia i told her i wanted a 58mm frame i repeated it. So as we go to select the frame she keeps pointing at frames I specifically said i didnt want as she seamed to be the one purchasing them because she wanted to choose what i should get so she bring over the tray full of frames wich none but one are 58mm and the whole time she is acting as she is in a hurry and just wants to get me out the door as asap. Initially I requested an appointment at their S Rainbow location. Within minutes of requesting the appointment via internet, I received a call from Lori. Now before I go on... there are two different types of employees... you have your average 2021 employee with little to no customer service skills... and then you have Lori. The world needs more Lori's. Lori was very nice and helpful. She was able to get me scheduled within 2 days at their N Rainbow office since S Rainbow was booked. She just took the time to ask me important questions and helped me with my insurance. So Lori, if you're reading this, you're a rockstar. My appointment went well with no issues. The girls at the N Rainbow office were very nice. Dr. Wang was also nice and has this very laid back calm demeanor. Another reason for my 5 star rating is because this is the first eye appointment I've ever been to in my entire adult life where the office actually took the time to see what was covered under my insurance. The average person does not know the fine print to their insurance benefits, let alone their vision insurance. She did my preliminary tests and she was knowledgeable and patient with me. Then after I saw my eye Doctor, I met up with Jessica. She thoroughly explained my benefits and costs.
