Pearle Vision offers eye exams and a wide variety of frames to choose from. The location is conveniently located near Long Horn Steak House off of Rivers avenue and is open until 6pm during the week. The staff was friendly once they "warmed up" and the Doctor, an army Reservist and Veteran was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The frames ranged in price from lower end to higher end and once an Eye exam co-pay is added on and a Materials co-pay is added on, you may or may not find great value at this location but that depends greatly upon your vision plan. I could not imagine going to this location without vision insurance due to the out of pockets costs that I experienced "with" insurance. Good morning and happy Monday. So i must this my journey here has been amazing in last 8 years just loved it here, but Wednesday Nov 6 2024 I needed to cancel and that went well with rescheduling until it didn't on Friday November 8 2024. Went in to get a regular check up got off work earlier then usually met that I lost money and that was ok until I got there and my APPOINTMENT was never scheduled, now I get that we all make mistakes but to lie and act as if I was confused was completely wrong at that point I lost my trust and my respect. I showed them my email of my appointment and they still act lost as if we knew what happen and who did it but we can't say but hey it's cool , I would figured after putting my eye care in you all hands for 8 years that you all would've been loyal and have some integrity but I guess not !! Goodbye ! I'll miss my Doctor but he need to replace his front staff with individuals that can be honest all the time even when there wrong. read more

This is one of the best Pearle Vision locations I have ever been to. I enjoy going to their locations, as they have a doctor on site and a pretty good selection of glasses. The staff is so friendly. They walked me through my insurance, what was covered, what deals would stack with it, etc. They recommended products for my particular eye issues, but I did not feel any pressure or obligation to purchase these things. The doctor on site is so wonderful. He was on time, helpful in explaining further in my concerns and so nice. I would highly recommend this location! read more

Definitely with the visit! World class customer service. The moment I walked in the door, I was told immediately the doctor was running late. I was so lucky to get an appointment that day. The staff was so much fun, knowledge, and a pleasure to work with. The doctor even brought his dog with him. Love, love, love how I was treated! Fast, #1 customer service, and best place in town! No need to shop around! You will be treated as if you're at a day spa! Make sure this is the only place you shop for eye care. UPDATE: When I initially went to this store, I was told that my readers I was using would not harm my vision. I went to pick up my glasses today and I couldn't read the card the placed in front of me. I could see clearly when I looked up but not when trying to read the card. I was told to lift my chin up and try to read the card again, but it was still blurry. I had ordered progressive lenses (bifocals) and have used them for the last 10 years so I understand the adjustments. However, when I explained that I i still could not read the card, I was told it was because of the readers I've been using. I was asked to try it for a bit and if I was still having issues, then I can come back for another exam. Here's my issue. When I purchased the glasses, I was originally told that a rush order was put on my order, 5-7 business days, on day 7, I called to see if they were in. I asked about the rush order and they said that was not done. It took 10 business days and I feel if they screwed up this time, why not the next time. I may have paid for amazing customer service, but I sure wasn't treated that way. I was told one thing by the doctor and then something else when I tried them on. To have to wait and see if they are working is not acceptable and the tone they took with was also acceptable. I paid $400 for a pair of glasses that were wrong and was treated as if I am the one to blame. My time is valuable too. read more

My regular optometrist has been dropped by my insurance (or vice-versa, I have no idea), so I was on the hunt for someone in network and Pearle Vision showed up. Honestly, the selling point was that it was in the Target shopping center and I could grab a burger at Five Guys when it was over... I walked in for my appointment and was greeted by two women who directed me towards the back. There, the appointment/doctor's secretary guided me through adding my insurance to my file and getting my paperwork handled. I was called back promptly at my appointment time. I was so worried about the dreaded eye-poof just to find out they don't do it that way anymore - instead they place this device super close to your eye (which is a HUGE struggle for me) and then instead of dilating my eyes, I opted to have them scanned. The scanner BLEW. MY. MIND. I HATE eye drops, so this was definitely something I was excited about. It's a bit hard to do the first time, and I ended up having to hold my eye open manually, but in the future I think it will be easier. I am then guided to a room where the doctor immediately comes in, introduces himself, and gets to work. He was very social and put me at ease (seeing a new doctor is never exciting for me). We did the usual 1 or 2, 3 or 4 spiel and then he pulls up my eye scans. This is where I am blown away. It is so crazy to see the inside of your own eyeball. I was so excited that he actually offered to email the pictures to me (which I have set as a wallpaper since it's so cool looking). We finished up my exam and I am guided out front to check out glasses. This is where my complaint starts. I had a 100% excellent visit up to this point, but the saleswoman/associate at the front counter seemed like she wanted to be elsewhere and wasn't really helpful. I asked what our insurance covers as I usually buy glasses online for around $50, so I didn't want to spend more when I didn't need to. As soon as I mentioned we might buy online instead, she lost interest in helping me. I walked around and had questions, but she just wasn't interested. I got a copy of my prescription, left, and ordered the glasses online (especially since it takes 1.5 - 2 weeks for Pearle to get them in anyway). They do have a wide variety of brands, but the service just wasn't there. 5/5 for the exam and staff in the back. I just won't be buying glasses here. read more

Very professional place ! Optician is very good thorough! My glasses fitted well! I got the glasses done fast! Only drawback is the price ! My insurance didn't answer much! But the service was good! Ordered frames they didn't not have in stock so I could try them on during my exam appointment. Liked them, bought them, had to call myself and find out they were in no one called me after a week. Went to get them to find out they were the frames they had in stock and not the ones I wanted. Normally no big deal mistakes happen but the heavy set black woman literally told me "those are the ones you tried on" that was a huge mistake to call me a liar. I know what I tried on, I know what I ordered and wanted. She then proved to over-talk me so I got louder to compensate and she said that because I was being loud I had to leave. Paid 541.00 for frames lenses and exam to be treated like this?!?! I even told her had she not been so rude to continue to over-talk me I would have never gotten louder. This woman doesn't belong in a customer service job. The fact that no one else said a word or defended me as a customer is ready. To NEVER go there again. I still don't have my frames. Called today, 5 days later at 2pm to get their answering machine. Customer service so bad they don't answer the phone during business hours. I was told 3 days, I'm sure they are sitting there and no one will call me. read more

I have had difficulty getting the right lenses and frame for years. I have gone to nearly every lens maker and optometrist in the low country area- about 15 likely. Laura the manager here has made my experience extremely gratifying. Other locations don't have much patience. Also they don't have the expertise and know how of this office. Just try calling a few places and see what the staff says. Offices in Mt Pleasant are just eager to get you out the door or don't answer the phone with a live person, or don't follow through. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!!! My past experience with Pearle Vision in North Charleston has been satisfactory until my latest visit, which summed up in a word was horrible. In my latest visit I had brought in my prescription from my optometrist as usual and they ordered my lenses. They called me once they got them in and unfortunately this was during work. They left no message for some particular reason and I am so glad I called them back as I usually ignore and block numbers that do that. They already had my sunglasses so all I needed them to do was change out my lenses from my glasses I wear every day. I got there at 4:05, and explained to them that I really needed these glasses as I couldn't see well without them; I cannot read or drive without them. They said they understood and they would be ready in an hour. After an hour of walking through Target with nothing better to do, as I couldn't read my computer or phone, I walked back to Pearle Vision where they told me they were NOT ready (after one hour!) and that it would be another hour! They close at six and I reminded them I really needed them before they closed. They promised they would have them ready and that they would call me when they were so I could get them ASAP. I walked over to another shopping center, as again, I could not drive, and spent time talking with a friend. I will admit, this is where I am at fault, I lost track of time and didn't realize how long I had been there until the time literally turned to 6 pm. I immediately called them only to get their voicemail. At this point, I was frustrated and angry with how I was being treated. They of all people should understand the importance of me getting my glasses. I was trying to figure out how to get home when they called me around 6:10 pm telling me my glasses were ready (finally) and that they would be leaving in 3 minutes. I had no way of getting there that quickly!!! I told them this and they basically told me that it was too bad and that they would open at 10 the next morning. Their only excuse was that they were with a customer and that they couldn't break away for two minutes to call me to come and get my glasses. I had to be picked up by my mother and get my parents to help get my car to my home late that night. I also was unable to do any school work that night or that morning, it was horrible. I feel all of these issues were because of their unprofessional conduct with me. I have been to other places and it doesn't take anywhere near one hour to change out lenses. I wonder if I had just stayed in the store as a constant presence if they would have gotten it done quicker just to be rid of me. Or if they didn't take me seriously because of how young I look. Either way, I know for sure they do not care about my business because they have lost it for good. I will never recommend that anyone go there unless they want to spend $300+ on two pairs of lenses (!) and have to wait forever and a day to get them changed out. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I went to Americas Best in order to get a contact lens exam. I had an appointment and it took over an hour to be seen. Then once I was getting the exam I felt rushed. After it all the prescription they gave me seemed a little stronger than I needed. I came to Pearle Vision to be fitted for glasses for work. When Dr. Lawver heard what they said my prescription was, he decided to do a contact exam. Turns out Americas Best over corrected my prescription. He sent me home with a new trial pair of contacts with the correct prescription. Thank you Doc for taking care of me. I highly recommend this fine establishment. Hooah. read more

What an amazing experience!! I was having issues with another place holding my insurance information but Emily was able to help me. From the phone call to the moment I walked through the doors I felt "at home" Cate (with a "C") :) and Emily talked to me and my daughter about everything under the sun :) Such sweet ladies. When I tell you this place is great I mean it. Have you ever talked to a complete stranger and felt like you have known them for years? The staff cares about you and it is not for show. I recently moved to the Charleston area and was struggling with finding a new eye doctor who took my insurance. The ladies up front were really kind and helped me to get scheduled for an exam. They even helped me find glasses that day and put them aside for me when I came in. When I came in for my appointment, the doctor was very nice and took my health concerns seriously. A year ago I purchased Glasses with Transition Progressive Transition Glasses withScratch Protection. When I picked up my glasses I said to the Lady at Pearl Vision, that they don't seem to fit right and she adjusted the height of the glasses on my nose, and said that it will take a few days for me to get used to them. (This is not the first pair of Progressive Transition Glasses I owned, I am wearing glasses since 40 years and 10 years with Progressive Glasses). After wearing them for a week I went back to Pearl Vision and was told by the Manager that the Lady that did my eye exam wrote down the wrong prescription, therefore the glasses are not fitting me. they ordered new glasses for me and after another 2 weeks I finally got the glasses that were ok for me. After 6 month I had to go back because the scratch coding came off. The Manager looked at them and said that he will get me new lenses because the scratch coding is peeling off and he was even able to see the manufacturers name imprinted on the coding.!!! 3 month later I had to go back because same thing happened again, the scratch coding is peeling off. This time, the Manager said right away: you scratched your lenses. I told him no I did not, it is peeling off. He insisted that I scratched my glasses, but he will be so kind and replace the lenses. I informed him again that I do know how to clean glasses and never ever had this problem before until I used Pearl Vision. He would not let me finish, got up and said, we will call you when we have your new lenses and left the room. The way this was handled is unacceptable and unprofessional. Especially since this is a recurring problem. I am using only the glass cleaner provided by Pearl Vision and microfiber glass cleaners by Pearl Vision. read more
