I ordered my lenses over four weeks ago and was originally quoted a turnaround time of one to two weeks. Once that timeframe passed, I called the store and was told they would arrive in a couple of days. Another week went by, and I was given the same response. A few more days passed, and still no lenses. I then contacted Pearle Vision customer service and filed a complaint, which was sent to the store manager. I was told I would receive a call within five days, but that deadline also passed before I was finally contacted. Unfortunately, the call with the store manager only added to my frustration. There was no accountability for the complete lack of communication from the store, even though I repeatedly had to call for updates and was consistently given inaccurate information. Instead, the blame was placed entirely on the lab, and I was offered a $25 coupon for a future visit. When I explained how dissatisfied I was with the handling of my order and the poor customer service I received, my concerns seemed to be brushed aside. Delays can happen, but the lack of honesty, communication, and accountability is unacceptable. I went to Pearle Vision, West Carrollton, Ohio (across from the Dayton Mall) to fill my prescription from my ophthalmologist. Picked out cute frames. When my trifocals came back, the distance part of left eye was blurry. Went back to eye doctor and the prescription was tweaked. Took the new prescription back to Pearle Vision, and when the glasses came back the original prescription was in my frames. I was going out of town so I kept them til I returned. Pearle Vision couldn't find the prescription. I called my doctor's office. They emailed the new prescription to me. Brad, who works at Pearle Vision, inputted the prescription. Went back to Pearle Vision for a third time and glasses were the same as original!! Still can't see distance. Brad indicated he put in the first prescription AGAIN. Please do NOT go to this establishment. Very incompetent! I think I should be compensated in some way. Going out of town to a concert and still can't see distance!! read more

I went here with a prescription from my optometrist. The service was fine, the people were fine, I didn't have any issues at all. The glasses came in the time I was quoted 7-10 days. I hadn't any issues at all with anyone. When i went to pick up my glasses they even adjusted my old ones and gave me some free wipes. I read the other reviews and I didn't have any adverse issues or complaints. It seemed pretty normal and pleasant to me but, that's my opinion. My insurance was acceptable, again no issues. read more

I have had a rather negative experience with Pearle Vision. I came here simply because it was covered under my insurance and located conveniently, but I wish I had spent more time shopping around prior to coming here, as it would have saved me money and a headache. As others have mentioned, the front desk workers are rather rude. But that's the least of the concern. During my visit, they switched me from soft to hard lens for my contacts. They charged me $200 (after my insurance) for a single pair. Not knowing any better, I paid. After doing research online, these lens cost $90 for a pair (without using insurance at all) It seems to me that Pearle Vision is implementing mass up charges, I am guessing so they can make commission. This feels rather slimy and predatory to me, though. read more

I had scheduled an appointment for 9:00 AM on Saturday 11/12/2022. The office worker who opened the office for my 9:00 AM appointment arrived at 9:05 AM. Once inside, with several other people now, I waited, while the others scrambled to the front desk. The person who opened the office was not the person who handles the people who are there for an appointment, I learned. The person, who handles those who had an appointment, did not arrive until 9:15 AM, for my 9:00 AM appointment. Once she did arrived, I had to complete the required paperwork and then took it to the front desk. Hmm, I noticed someone else going into the examination room. When I asked about that, I was told that Pearl Vision had double booked the 9:00 AM appointment time. No apology! I cancelled my appointment and exited the establishment. I was not aware that one could schedule two appointments at the same time online!?? In any event, I will never return. My first experience with Pearle Vision, the office also did not open until after 9:00 AM either. But I though, sometimes people are late due to unforeseen circumstances. Not returning. read more

There are so many eye doctors and Opticals just in this little area. Go ANYWHERE but here. My child was seen by Dr. Moczek at Pearle Vision today. The prescription was written without a Pupillary Distance (PD) on it and with an "optional" progressives lenses and additive Rx. BUT it's not written as "optional" on the Rx. This turns a 35 dollar pair of lenses into a 150+ dollar pair of lenses for something I (in my qualified medical opinion) do not deem necessary. I asked for the PD number so that I can order my child's glasses from the optical at my own place of work. They straight up refused to provide it for me. I told them that they're essentially handing me a piece of paper for medically necessary corrective eyeglasses, that I can *only* purchase right there in office. Ohio law states that a vision prescription must contain "Sufficient information to enable the patient to obtain from the supplier of the patient's choice, the optical accessory or other vision correcting item, device, or procedure that has been prescribed." We have one vision exam covered by insurance each year so I can't take my child somewhere else now. I already spoke with the Ohio Vision Professionals Board and my insurance provider to file a complaint and to request a refund from this exam so that we can go elsewhere. What happened to us today was against the law. Please have the office manager call to discuss a refund. read more

I really never intended to even think about your Vision Care at Pearl Vision in Miamisburg Ohio, again and consider it a bad experience and cut my dollar loss, but after receiving my bank statement showing the $90 you charged me for a different exam than I ask for plus all the other negatives including the Eye Doctor that gave me the feeling she really wasn't all that concerned about my needs. It was not surprising that not only the eye exam or the Contact lens prescription were not even close on correcting my vision. Rest about that assured I'm spreading the word about your customer treatment and pathetic customer service. I can only imagine how you service the elderly. read more

I decided to get contacts so I made an appointment on my lunch to get a contacts fitting. I arrived a few minutes early. I waited about 15 minutes and then I'm told that they're behind and it's going to be awhile. As I rise to leave, I'm told "things happen." Yes they do, things happen and poorly managed businesses watch their customers walk away. How difficult would it have been to call me and say my appointment was significantly delayed rather than let me drive 7 miles each way and waste my lunch hour? Awful, just awful. read more

I bought a pair of prescription eyeglasses here. After a long wait, we were helped. The associate who helped us gave us some BS "compliment" on how our vision insurance paid "a lot" even though we still had over $430 out of pocket. To add insult to injury, they promised that the glasses will be ready in 7 to 10 days. When I called on day 10 to see if my glasses had come in yet, the person who took my call said my glasses were "shipped" and that it should arrive the next day and that they'd call me once my glasses arrives. These ladies were life savers! My girlfriend flew into Cincy for the holiday weekend and unfortunately broke her glasses at the bridge! Well, it was 2:30 pm on a Sunday, so we knew the options for getting them repaired were slim and none. We checked her insurance for covered retailers and saw that Lens Crafters and and these guys were listed. The LensCrafters was closest so we headed out. We treated with zero empathy and were told that her "NC" policy was no good in Ohio! WTH? They never asked if we were willing to pay out of pocket...I guess they sized us up as not being able to pay out of pocket. Well, we called up Pearle Vision and the young lady was very empathetic and invited us in. We got there...and were blown away by their willingness to help! They got my lady into an affordable frame and it only took 15 minutes to get them fitted! We appreciate your empathy ladies! I know where I will do business next time I need eye care. I went to Pearle Vision because I wanted to get my glasses adjusted. They are Versace frames I actually bought here and I absolutely love them. I have had them for about a year and a half to 2 years now. One of the sides went out of alignment and had made my glasses tilt forward so my eyes were getting strained looking so closely at the lenses. The man working the front (Ben I think is his name) told me he has been adjusting glasses for 30 years and sometimes they break while getting adjusted, and since mine were "worn in", if they were to break while he was adjusting them, I'd pretty much be screwed and would have to buy new frames. This is the part that seemed a little unprofessional though- he said this is a "money making business" and gave me a card for a guy that could try to fix them, but "if they broke, he could also fix them", but it would cost me. Since he was being very pessimistic about fixing my glasses, and it was at my own risk if they broke while he was fixing them, I said no, he cleaned them for me and I left. However, the very same day I went to LensCrafters at Liberty Center. They took them, immediately just tightened them and adjusted them and cleaned them, and they looked brand new and fit perfectly. This took at most two minutes and they were very professional, clean, and friendly. Safe to say after seeing how easy of a fix this actually was, I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with Pearle Vision and will definitely not be going back. read more

After 2 trips there Bc they couldn't confirm my insurance, even though 2 other places had, no one could return a call. Finally get in the system and order my glasses. Been 2 1/2 weeks and still no glasses. No one can give my answers other than they should be in. If it wasn't for finding a frame I really liked I should have walked out and never came back. Posting to counteract some of the negative reviews. Got glasses there several times for myself and my kids with no issues. One should note that the optometrist and the people that sell the glasses are 2 separate entities. One is a doctor, the other is sales. They get to deal with the general public all day (a lot of whiners and morons). A normal, intelligent, reasonable person will most likely have a perfectly fine experience at this location. read more

Brought my son here for his first eye exam. The doctor was good and thorough. He found the frames he wanted, and we ordered them. That was three weeks ago. Three weeks and no glasses yet. The only reason I'm still dealing with them and haven't demanded my money back is because they were the only place that had the frames he had his heart set on. This was my son's first experience getting glasses. Extremely disappointing! I will never purchase here again! read more

The staff has been pretty friendly and helpful the SIX times I had to go in to get my glasses adjusted. I'm still not sure they will not cause me discomfort. They should put up a sign by the Nike brand frames that say 'WARNING: Can't be fitted!" Also, not impressed with the doctor's flat affect. read more

Pearle Vision in VOA - Optometrist were great, timely, helpful, and knowledgeable. The front line customer service staff provided the worst customer service in the history of customer service. Amanda, the customer service person I encountered first, rude, challenging, and overall uneducated in her field to provide customer service. I made it clear when I scheduled the appointment I could only come in on Saturdays. My 10 yr old wanted contacts. I was told they do not do contact fittings on Saturdays. I said, no problem, I'll find another provider that can accommodate me. They told me to wait, they may be able to make an exception, great! I was impressed. They indeed made an exception and I was able to come in on Saturday for a contact fitting. Completed the appointment, then told a ten minute f/u apt needed to be completed in 7 days for a contact check. I said, we'll see you next Saturday. Nope, Amanda rudely, harshly and loudly reported we do not do contact checks on Saturday. Explained when I made the initial apt. I was clear Saturdays were the only day I could come in. No expectations, nothing, so now that I have had my exam and they were so kind to accommodate, they would not do the 'ten minute' contact check on a Saturday, no if's and's, or but's. I am appalled that I was 'hood winked' into being accommodated to come in on Saturday only to be told they would not accommodate the follow up appointment, which I made clear I could not do. In addition, I was told multiple times by Amanda, apparently the contact police, 'legally' they would NOT order the lenses until I came in for my follow up appointment. She stated, legally, at least four times in our conversation. I wish this was all that occurred, but there's still more. Amanda knew nothing about my insurance and declined to look up my insurance information. We also needed new glasses. No explanation about benefits, what is covered or when I can come in for new glasses. I had to ask her to look up my policy, then the information provided was inaccurate (I am an RN with two masters degrees and do nothing but assist patients at one of the largest hospital systems in the city with insurance issues) I do know a lot about medical laws, rules, and most importantly INSURANCE benefits! After she decided new frames were not covered, not true, by the way, we ordered new lenses for the current glasses, which are in complete disrepair. Lenses arrived and would you believe, they are not the right size...go figure, more evidence Amanda does not possess the skills needed to complete her job. The LEGAL contact lenses check was completed by mother in law, since, I could not come on Friday, which was not SEVEN days from the original, which Amanda reported MUST be 7 days, Saturday would have been SEVEN days. Wow, now a new optometrist decided my daughter has stigmatization and should have totally different lenses. Mmmm this was discussed w/ the previous optometrist and we decided we would not do different Rx in the each eye, as it would be difficult for a 10 yr to keep track of this...would have been great if the original Optometrist would have communicated this to the Optometrist seeing my daughter on Friday. So basically, in the end I have no new lenses for the glasses with frames that are falling apart. I now have two different Rx for contact lenses and the worst customer service experience from someone that has no business being in customer service or attempting to explain benefits, especially when she has no idea the people she might be speaking to. It appears I am likely to go Contact Lens Jail with all the legalities surrounding said lenses, as I am likely to 'phone a friend' in my industry to get my needs met, instead of dealing with sub par services Pearle Vision offers. read more

I dropped off my glasses and was told they would be returned to me within 3-4 days. It was kind of risking it because I have a lazy eye and I didn't want it to get much worse because my wedding day was in three weeks. They promised they would be in quickly and they would call me when the glasses were ready for pick-up. Well 4 days pasted and I called. They weren't ready. I called on day 5 and spoke with a general manager who told me that they never guarantee a turn around of 3-4 days, which made me very angry and felt lied to. He said they always tell customers 7-10 business days. I would have done to LensCrafters if I knew it would be 7-10 business days. LensCrafters turn around my glasses in 3 days everytime. So I never receive a phone call. I call on day 12, after the guaranteed time frame, and waited for them to call because they were upset with me calling. "Ma'am, we'll call YOU when they are in." How rude. Well on day 12, the glasses were finally in, but the sunglasses I ordered are not. Why didn't anyone call me? I don't know. The sunglasses are supposed to be in the next two days. Then I call, and the answer is 4-5 more days and that they can't guarantee a specific day. I start getting frustrated and ask if the sunglasses will be in before I get married and go for the honeymoon, since I was told it would only take 3-4 days originally. They act like they give a shit less and tell me they will put a special note on the glasses instructions. I am so upset. Never had a bridezilla moment, but this may be it. Hoping my glasses are done in the next few days or I am screwed. Thanks Pearl Vision for giving me a heartache and ruining my one and ONLY experience with you screw-ups. read more

I decided to give Pearl a try since I've always used LensCrafters prior, thinking they maybe different even though they're both owned by Luxottica. I called a few locations to inquire about Pearl and see how I was treated as a potential customer. On my initial call with the VOA location, I was very impressed with the amount of information that was provided. I called a few other locations and no one seemed to really go in to detail without me probing them and even then well....I called VOA back and scheduled a appointment with the Eye Doc. The routine eye exam went well but on the Pearl side, I didn't receive the same friendly education service I had experienced over the phone. I thought maybe it just wasn't their day so, I decided to bring my 14yr child to get her glasses there also. I was at work when I get a call from my wife saying the women at Pearl is telling me my copay is higher than what I told my wife it will be ( I'm a benefit administrator). Long story short, the women at Pearl told my wife it was against the law to have my 14 child in plastic lenses. That's right, against the law. I immediately called LensCrafters and they confirmed she received plastic lenses last year. I called my wife back and said something don't sound right. I talked to the women at Pearl and she told me the same thing about it being a law. When I challenged her about her knowledge she, told me I could do whatever I wanted and if I want plastic lenses then that is what she will order in a annoyed tone. On my call with LC prior to calling Pearl back they advised poly lenses are recommended for kids but it is totally a choice. That's all the women had to say at Peal. I thought maybe I should give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she heard this and misinterpreted this info but I thought why would she just back down when I challenged her? Why wouldn't she educate me why she is trying to up sell lenses? Don't get me wrong, I want my kid to have the best but I will not be lied to. I am very disappointed. I wonder how many people this gets communicated to on a daily? How many customers just believe it and don't question it? I hope to hear what you have to say Pearl.
