Be very careful with the billing practices at this location. I ended up walking out and completely wasting my time here today. During my visit, the staff repeatedly and aggressively insisted that a $39 Digital Retinal Imaging screening was mandatory to complete my exam. However, their own official intake paperwork explicitly states right at the bottom that it is an "optional additional procedure" with a box to decline it. Forcing or pressuring patients to pay out-of-pocket fees for elective screenings by claiming they are required is incredibly dishonest. When I refused to pay the optional upcharge, they wouldn't budge, so I chose to leave. Watch your paperwork closely if you visit this place. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. This store is great IF Nothing goes wrong and you expect them to stand by their product. I've been a repeat customer of Pearle Vision in Woodridge, IL--purchasing three pairs of frames and lenses and spending over $2,000. But when I raised concerns about the poor quality of the so-called 'Tiffany'--more accurately, #Fiffany--frames, the store showed its true colors: deflection, excuses, and zero accountability. I bought the frames and lenses for $692, and just three months later, the frames became bowed and unwearable. I returned to the store multiple times for adjustments, but the problem kept coming back. When I asked for a refund or replacement, Boris told me, "What do you expect? They're plastic." That's outrageous for a luxury-branded product. Michelle, the store manager who claims to offer "excellent customer service," made baseless accusations during a call with the Attorney General--blaming me for damaging the glasses by "blow-drying my hair or lying down with them on". Her real concern? She wouldn't get reimbursed by Luxottica, the warranty provider, so she refused to replace the frames. Instead, I was told to deal with Luxottica directly. Luxottica took seven weeks to return the glasses--still defective--and then suggested I take them to LensCrafters for an adjustment. Not Pearle Vision. What does that tell you? Even after involving the BBB and the Attorney General's Office, Michelle continued blaming Luxottica. She offered to replace the lenses--though they were never the issue--because it wouldn't cost her anything. When asked directly if Pearle Vision would provide a refund, she said, "Why would we be responsible?" and flatly refused. Another so-called solution from Michelle is for me to return for endless adjustments--as if my time has no value ( In the words of, Kimberly "Sweet Brown" Wilkins ) "Aint nobody got time for that!" She clings to the fact that it's been 16 months since purchase, but my complaints began just three months in. As a fair consumer, I gave them 13 months to make this right. It seems they were just hoping I'd give up. Pearle Vision at Woodridge is a wolf in sheep's clothing--pretending to offer premium products and service, but failing when it truly counts. I'm out $692 with frames that are visually attractive but totally unwearable. And when someone compliments your glasses and ask you where you bought them, you don't say "Luxottica." You say Pearle Vision--because that's who took your money. Michelle confirmed she alone made the final decision to the Attorney General, and she stood by it, regardless of how unreasonable it was. Her refusal to acknowledge the customer experience reflects a serious lack of empathy and professionalism. This experience has destroyed my trust in Pearle Vision. Held my kids' eye exams hostage for $39 a head! I scheduled an appointment at this Pearl Vision for my son's kindergarten eye exam and my daughter's yearly check-up. When we arrived and began filling out new-patient forms, I was told there is a mandatory $39 "retinal scan" for all new clients, not covered by insurance. For both of my kids, that meant an extra $78. I explained that my son is 5 and my daughter is 9, both with healthy eyes and no issues or concerns. I declined the test, but the receptionist told me the doctor requires it for all new patients. She asked me to sign a form leaving the yes or no blank ," saying she could change it to "no" later if the doctor agreed. I refused to sign anything unless I could decline it up front. She came back after asking the doctor and said it was non-negotiable--we would not be seen without paying for the test, though they offered a "discount." I told them I simply needed my son's school form completed, and I couldn't justify an uncovered fee for a test that was unnecessary. They suggested rescheduling, but I chose to cancel altogether. I immediately called another Pearl Vision location and was told they do NOT require this scan--it's optional, just like I expected. This practice felt like a money grab, forcing families into a $39 per-person test whether medically needed or not. If there were actual health concerns, I'd understand, but making it mandatory for healthy children is unreasonable. I would recommend avoiding this location and going to another Pearl Vision or clinic that respects patient choice. read more

We know they overcharge on frames but this place should be reported to the BBB. Only concerned with sales. They recommend upgrades that you may not need based on your prescription. When I asked for my pupil distance AFTER a purchase I was told they didn't give it without a fee. The sales rep did eventually give but I don't trust them. I'll never return. read more

Be very careful, they don't always advise what's best for you and focus on sales. With age, my eyes have recently degraded and I can no longer read with my current contacts or glasses. I came in to consult the eye doctor (Marianna Barsky) get an exam and understand options. I left with a new prescription and was "required" to pay for a year supply of contacts that I had no idea were right for me. I was NEVER told that I could have received a trial pair and ONLY paid for / ordered contacts when we find the pair that's right for me. After a month had past I could confirm with certainty the contacts weren't right for me, but was unable to come sooner to exchange until today (which is 2 days less than 60days for the manufacturer exchange) but the store told me it's too late and I'll lose 50% off what I paid for the full year subscription. I was only looking to exchange at the original price I paid. Now I'm stuck losing money on something I never asked for. Finally, I called and checked with other Pearle Vision's in the area and they advised it's NOT policy to force sell a year supply when the client doesn't know what's right for them. The standard procedure is to use a trial then only purchase when the client is ready. read more

My family has been coming here for years for exams, contacts, and sometimes eyeglass purchases. Not anymore. Today when I tried to order a pair of eye glasses online at another store, I discovered that this location doesn't provide you your PD (pupil) measurement unless you throw them another $25. That's their cheap way of trying to force you to buy their more expensive lenses. Interestingly, Costco and warby Parker was more than happy to provide me that info for free. Don't go here. The lady who answered the phone also helped to check me in when I arrived. I believe her name is Victoria and she was both helpful and caring, making me feel at ease. I thought my insurance coverage was for both contacts and lenses in one calendar year. The gal who checked me out did not mention to me that it was for ONE or the other---and not both! I didn't have a problem getting my glasses but I had a seizure and I broke my glasses and I had bought insurance on them so I thought I could just get them repaired. It took 2 full weeks of getting my glasses when I went to Pearle Vision the first time I didn't think I need the old glasses so i went in and they said i needed bring my old glasses, so I said no problem. When I went in the Second time I had my old glasses and I said who I was and needed my new glasses. The girl said sit down for a second. So I did and then the Dr. out and reamed about the frames of glasses weren't broken and I said the nose piece is completes off the glasses. the dr said this is the only time I will so this because the insurance is a third party! Worst eye place ever. Go to For Eyes. So I went there because they are in network for my company's vision plan, which I told them when I came in. So I spent about an hour picking out frames. After I selected my frames and went to pay, I was told that my health insurance only covered a certain selection of frames that I hadn't been shown yet. They then took me to the back room and opened a suitcase of frames to review, but by this point I was already set on the other frames I had selected, and the suitcase didn't have anything similar. I was told that they could give me a slight discount instead. I split the payments of my frame between personal cards and a FlexSpend company health account card, which went through at that time. I was called a few days later to be told that the transaction didn't go through, and I would have to come back in to settle the account. I received 2 calls to do so, and to be honest it was in the opposite direction I travel every day, so it slipped my mind for a couple weeks. Within a month I received a vmail msg saying I would be turned over to collections if I didn't come in and pay immediately. It was $90 and I never got anything in writing. My fiance got his contacts from there, and they gave him the wrong prescription, which took him a few weeks to figure out. But when he brought up that they gave him the wrong prescription the only resolution they offered was for him to buy more of the correct prescription! No discount offered, no deals offered. This place blows and I will never go back. Its not worth it. If I could give them 0 stars I would. read more

Since this location is close and in my vision care insurance network I have TRIED to give them my business 3 times. 1st interaction(3 years ago) was good as I picked a frame that was on their wall. 2nd (2 years ago) was mildly frustrating as I picked a pair of Ray-Ban frames , which they are a dealer of, but did not stock... Had to order. They were less than enthusiastic about it and I had to do a lot of hand holding to get the order completed. Numerous calls and guarantees of delivery date were exchanged back and forth which left myself and them very confused. 3rd time was a few days ago when I went in to get an exam and new prescription lenses for my existing frames. The exam was satisfactory, albeit a bit on the scripted side..... Now when it cam to getting the new lenses i was told i had to surrender my current pair to have them sent out. I understand, but I would be without glasses for a month! I opted to just get a new pair of the same frames, since my insurance would cover them. I was told they were discontinued and the sales associate was less than enthusiastic about researching if they actually were since i knew for a fact they are still a current model in the Ray-Ban line. I wound up going to The Eye Boutique in Naperville. Took my insurance, Ordered me the frames i was looking for and went out of their way to provide EXCELLENT customer service! read more

This review is for the Pearle Vision located at 1001 75th St, #139 Woodridge, IL 60517. I had an eye exam at this location back in November of 2020. At the time of my appointment the doctor who examined my eyes seemed very nice. The assistant at the time seemed a little irritated that I did want to purchase their over priced eye glasses. I'm sorry but if you choose a job in sales and commission accept the fact that everyone will not be willing to be influenced to purchase what you have to offer. I've learned my lesson with educating myself on how this system works... You learn that insurance covers a very small percentage of your eyeglasses. You pay $500 or more for one pair of glasses at one of the big store chains like Pearle. So I explored a few online stores that offer far more designer eyewear for a fraction of what you would pay in the store and you can use your FSA or HSA towards your purchase if not all of it. Ok, back to my experience after I told the assistant I did not want to purchase any glasses. I asked if I could have a print out of my prescription, She gave me a little attitude (I'm sorry but its not that serious, if your that dependent on commission you clearly need to seriously think about making some career adjustments). Here's the kicker, I asked if she could measure my PD. She said yes but it will be an extra charge of $20 (in a condescending tone). I said ok fine, she measured me and I paid and left. I recently placed an online order for eyeglasses with the prescription that I received from this location in February. I received my glasses in the mail last week. The prescription was wrong, my left eye lens was terrible. I could not focus, so I called Pearle Vision and explained what happened and I was scheduled to come in to be re-examined. I get there and I was told to have a seat and the doctor would be with me shortly. While I'm waiting to be seen, I noticed an Asian lady talking with the doctor and explaining to her that she wasn't comfortable about her prescription and etc. I thought to myself... Oh boy! Is this a regular thing or what?... So, the doctor calls me back and I explain to her that I felt like my prescription is wrong. I had a print out of my prescription and handed it to her and she says.... "Oh! There must have been a typo". She then asked for the glasses that I purchased online and she examined them. She asked me to put them on and she places a lens over the left eye asked if it was better... I responded yes, and she responds by saying "That was an easy fix and I'll have one of the girls to make the adjustments and print out a new prescription". The same assistant that helped me in November helped me today. She gives me the print out and I left. Here's the thing, This was an inconvenience for me. I am out of money for glasses that I can't have repaired and I was told by the online store that its better to reorder the glasses with a fifty percent off coupon(provided by them) than sending them back for repair. The doctor did not offer any compensation for the glasses or even a coupon to purchase from Pearle. I usually do not do reviews on anything but when it comes to service I feel the need to voice it. I will Not come back to this location again. I usually go to the Oakbrook location and I have always had a great experience. For those that are interested in purchasing your designer eyewear for half the price.. You can go to framesdirect.com All you need is an updated prescription, your PD and facial measurements. I went in for a contact exam. The staff was rude and rushed to get me out the door. Then I had insurance issues, and on the phone each employee they passed me around to got ruder and ruder. Turns out my insurance does cover the contacts they were saying that it did not; it just covers dailies and not bi-weekly. If I didn't really need my contacts I would have left them there for having such bad service. As it is, they do not allow you to cancel your order. So I just won't ever go back to any Pearle Vision. Plus, they are outrageously expensive. My one year prescription of contacts with the exam was $400.00 after insurance. read more

one of the legs (?) of my glasses was constantly coming off, which was both annoying as well as embarrassing, so taking a break from the holiday shopping madness at kohl's, I stopped in. even though it wasn't a huge deal, the doctor, who was helping another guy, called for someone to help me. a young lady came out, asked me what I needed help with, nodded, and took my glasses. she came back out in 10 minutes and gave them back with a smile. when I asked how much, she told me it was on them. you can't get customer service like that too often. thanks! read more

I have been going here quite some time. I have seen some positive reviews of Diane here at this Pearl. I would agree 100% she is great. However when I have asked others besides Diane for my prescriptions after the exams, I have gotten attitudes about requesting it. I get that they want you to buy their glasses at expensive prices, but dammit we pay for the exam and we deserve to get the prescription without having to beg for it. After one recent exam, the only receipt I got was the very small 2" x 2" credit card receipt that you sign. There was not an offer to give me the description of the services provided, and certainly not an offer to give me my prescription. Again, I know they don't want to give you the prescription so you can shop around, but welcome to the real world. We have every right to shop for glasses or contacts besides the place we get our exam at. And again, we should not have to beg for receipts and certainly not have to beg for prescriptions. I will have to seriously consider other options in the future. read more

I believe this is the Pearle Vision - Dr Barsky, Dayana and Boris. I felt I received a caring service for eye-testing by Dr Barsky - I believe she is efficient in testing and intelligent in determining if there are any disease. Dayana and Boris performs as best expertise in managing the eyewear and both were extremely kind. Sometimes, you have to look past any hurriedness because they are very busy with customers and my eye problems are one of multi-floater's and sensitivity of light, etc. I went through Chemo and then I went into a Diabetic Coma (didn't know I was diabetic) and I believe the changes in my eyes were caused by the nerve damages I received and I have Fibromyalgia so it all adds up on the eyes as well. I am not angry about cancer/diabetes, just deal with it - I feel Blessed to be alive! I wasn't feeling my best that day but they conveyed understanding toward my situation. So I was grateful that it was stress-free for me. I appreciate their help and when I explained to Dayana the transitional lenses were what I needed, she understood. read more

I had to stop in FOUR times to get my contact lens order correct. First, they told me their contact prices were competitive, and when I checked online, they were double the cost of most online retailers. Then, they gave me an expired rebate. After a third trip in to pick up my contacts, I found that they had order me a year's worth of contacts in the wrong prescription. The manager proceeded to argue with me that this was the correct prescription because that is what the doctor wrote down, but I have worn the same prescription for years, and she told during the exam there was no change in my previous prescription. He then proceeded to argue with me regarding my prescription in front of a store full of other customers. I then mentioned I wanted my money back to order contacts online because their prices were not competitive, and he refused. Their policy is NO REFUNDS, and under no circumstance was he wiling to price match or give my money back. I waited another week to get my new contacts, and when the manager called me to tell me that they were in, he proceeded to tell me over the phone that I was wrong about the online retailers prices, and they were indeed cheaper at Pearle Vision. This is an absolute, bold faced lie, and I will never return to this place that treated me so poorly and did not care about me as a customer at all! When I told him I wouldn't be returning as a customer because of his treatment of me, he responded that he didn't care and it was my decision to take my business elsewhere.
