I personally I give it five stars because it does exactly what I intended it to do which is provide me a place to store my camper a safe place you know they got a privacy fence. They have security cameras up now so they've done some work to it ever since I moved in However, if you are a family, I would recommend a other RV parts that you provide all the amenities preferably ones that have to pay lots pave concrete lots that are bigger, but if you're just simple and single life, it's the perfect place in my opinion.

From the first warm "hello" at check-in to the ease of our departure, the experience felt like staying with good friends--who just happen to run an RV resort. Management That's Present and Personable What stood out immediately? Access to management. Whether face-to-face or via email, they were available and responsive. Emails with event updates and maintenance schedules kept us in the loop, which we appreciated--especially when planning cookouts or karaoke nights! Better yet, the staff weren't just employees--they were also guests, which made the whole vibe feel more down-to-earth and welcoming. They knew the area well (BBQ lovers: Lockhart is just 20 minutes away), and they were always happy to share tips. Amenities: Thoughtfully Designed and Genuinely Fun The resort checks the boxes and then some. Full hookups, well-maintained restrooms with showers, a large pool and an even larger hot tub (we once fit 12 people with room to spare!), and a killer community space next to the pool that played host to potlucks and karaoke nights. There's a massive double fireplace in that communal space, ideal for gatherings when the temps drop. And behind the building? A bonfire area and smaller fire pits surrounded by comfy seating. Bonus: free firewood during our stay! The gym is small (fits two people max) but clean and efficient with a weight machine, treadmill, and bike. There's also a super-clean laundry room with big washers and dryers that made doing laundry less of a chore. Other nice touches: a covered stage (no live shows during our stay, but it's clearly ready for action), and a dog area that was tidy and respected by both staff and fellow guests. Only things we missed? An ice machine and propane refill station--but both were a short drive away. Grounds & Sites: Clean, Sleek, and Spacious This place is sharp. Roads and sites were freshly paved, level, and easy to navigate. The grounds were neatly mowed and edged, and each RV site was thoughtfully laid out with plenty of room to back in--or pull through if you preferred. Being a newer resort, there's not much shade yet. There are young trees that'll eventually grow up, but for now, bring your own coverage if you're sun-sensitive. One notable gripe (shared by multiple guests): the bright parking-lot-style lights scattered throughout the resort. While we get the need for security, they were way too intense. Our humble suggestion? Dimmers, warmer bulbs, or better yet--low ground lighting. Let guests light their own areas for comfort and better stargazing. Location: Central and Convenient Located right off Texas Highway 21, you're close to everything without feeling crowded. Traffic wasn't bad, though you might hear a few semis braking at the nearby stoplight--nothing major. In 20-25 minutes, you can reach Kyle, Lockhart, or San Marcos, and those drives are easy and scenic. Kyle has all the basics (Walmart, H-E-B, Lowe's, etc.). Lockhart is BBQ heaven, and San Marcos is packed with chill spots and river fun. That spring-fed river runs 72° year-round--perfect for floating or paddleboarding. If you're heading into Austin, budget 45+ minutes depending on I-35 traffic. A Place to Party or Chill--Your Pick The overall vibe of The Old El Camino? A sweet mix of family-friendly and fun-loving. Whether you want to keep it quiet, socialize, or sing your heart out, it works. We made new friends quickly--thanks to the welcoming staff and well-planned community events. As for pricing, it felt more than fair. There's a refundable deposit and electric usage on top, but even with our AC running constantly, the bill wasn't shocking. Final Thoughts: We'll Be Back We felt safe, seen, and satisfied. Cleanliness was top-notch, staff were friendly and invested, and the sense of community was refreshing. Amazingly quiet and shaded for an in-town RV park…read more I took a 10+ mile bike ride - on bike trails along parks and the water. Almost impossible in any other major city. Small sites - as you would expect in an urban park, but sufficient for our trailer and car. Convenient rest rooms, nice neighbors and lots of shade. The roads are newly paved, well lighted, and while not fenced and gated, the park feels safe. Best of all, it is walking distance from the Colorado river, a number of walking trails, and much of the Austin Government and historical buildings. We took a nearby driving sighting tour and a nice boat tour to see where the urban bats hang out (literally). I hope to come for a longer visit next time.

Stayed there with my parents for a few days - they even let us stay an extra night when our brake troubles made it so we couldn't make it for our first night. Solar powered strip lights on the site, a fire pit, picnic tables, and absurdly nice washrooms - complete with showers, new renovation and air conditioning - made this a lovely stay. We went biking on some nearby streets and easily could have made it to the nearby state park had we had time. The only downfall is we didn't have a cable hookups, but we managed to get channels anyway. The WiFi was solid most times to work remote but a bit difficult to stream or zoom over at a few points. Not my usual scene to be at an RV lark, but we had a few wild Mexican trim matches and enjoyed our stay.

Buyer beware this company is a scam. My husband and I booked an RV rental over Memorial Day…read moreweekend. All communication was great prior to our rental and the only red flag was we had not seen many online reviews. But the couple seemed nice and had prompt email responses.. that is until it was time for us to receive our $400 refund. Mind you - our three night rental was about $600 so that extra $400 added to their profit margin significantly. We picked up the RV on May 22nd and returned it the evening of May 26th (we paid an extra night fee for the evening return). Upon picking it up we noticed a couple of things that were not 100% but since they had been pleasant we didn't make a big deal about it. Some food scraps had been overlooked and an ant village had moved in as well as the black water had not been pumped and was at over half full. My husband verified that the black water was half full with the owner but we didn't think it was that big of a deal. Apparently it was because we had to use the camp port-o-potties after the first morning. Also, two fuses were incorrect on the RV and had to make a special trip to replace them. But overall not a huge deal. We returned the RV completely cleaned and vacuumed the evening of the 26th and Sandy Life let me know the refund would take a few days to process. On May 29th, I emailed Sandy Life for initial follow up on deposit refund. Their contract notes the refund must be returned within 14 days of rental. No response. So I texted on June 2nd for follow up and received a text stating the full deposit would be completed June 3rd and allow 5-7 days for processing. On June 16th, I emailed Sandy Life that I had not received the full deposit refund guaranteed on June 2nd. I received an email later that day that their inspector found floor damage and that a door lock was broke and we would only be getting a "partial refund." Please note that their inspector did not come to inspect the RV for over two weeks after we returned it. When my husband and I dropped off the RV we asked Sandy Life to do a walk through at that time and they refused. We returned the RV clean and in full working order with working locks. I emailed Sandy Life explaining this and asking why am I just now finding out about this at 23 days post-rental. I also asked how did I know they did not rent the RV out within that time and are charging me for damages (they had told me prior to rental that the RV was rented the day after our return) or that the RV wasn't broken into at their outside storage area. I also requested photos of the damages and a receipt for the locksmith. I never received a follow up email after this. I emailed again on June 20th stating I would like to resolve this issue and cited they are breaking their own contract time line and also did not rent out the RV as agreed upon (black water half full, blown fuses, ant infestation). I again requested photos and receipts and again, NO RESPONSE. On June 26th, I emailed Sandy Life stating that I would be filing a complaint with the BBB the following Monday and was astonished at their lack of business ethic. Still NO RESPONSE. On June 27th I used my husband's cell phone to call Sandy Life as they had not picked up for my cell number the last 4 times I had called them. And what do you know.. they pick up. I explained who I was and Sandy Life told me they were only giving me half of my deposit ($200) and again refused to provide proof of damages or receipts. I told her I felt totally taken advantage of, that they were scamming my family and that I did not understand WHY they would not provide proof of damages. She got upset at this, said they were not scammers and hung up on me. I'm sorry but given this situation and total lack of communication what would you think? And if they did intend on refunding $200 then why had they not done so yet? At this point it had been 33 days since we returned the RV, not to mention THEIR contract stated the refund would be processed within 14 days! When I tried to call her back about 30 minutes later she had blocked both my husband's and my cell phone numbers. Seriously, that is the customer service they give? Not responding to texts, calls and emails then BLOCKING my number? I have not attempted to call them again as it is obvious I am getting nowhere. Sandy Life emailed me that night stating they would refund the deposit but currently I have only received $100. I replied asking for an ETA of the full refund but what do you know... still haven't heard anything back. What a SURPRISE! So buyer beware- this company doubles their profits by refusing to refund deposits and breaking their own contract. They are SCAMMERS that present like a family business. Very disappointing. I have since filed reports with the BBB, Austin KVUE Defenders investigators, and KXAN Report It. Please message me if you have had similar experiences with Sandy Life as I am tracking this with my attorney.
