Auto armor required when purchasing a vehicle?

Vince, if the auto armor has already been applied to the in-stock vehicle, then yes. If you prefer not to have the auto armor, we can order a vehicle for you, unless it is a high demand / low supply vehicle like the Telluride and any hybrid model.

I had a terrific experience buying a used Toyota RAV4 at Grace Auto Sales this week. When I chose the less expensive model of the two cars I was considering, Soto never tried to convince me to buy the pricier model. He agreed that the one I chose seemed to be the right fit. Soto and all of his colleagues were pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was laid back yet efficient. It's very important to me to support local businesses and a bonus when the business is family-owned. It's refreshing to be in the presence of folks who seem to enjoy their jobs and one another. I will update this review if anything goes wrong with the car. Otherwise, assume I'm a happy customer. NOTE: I suggested to the owner that he consider doing away with the scented candle that was burning in the front office. I made the point that while the candle smelled nice enough, many folks (myself included) are very sensitive to fragrances (as evidenced by the booming market of fragrance-free products). The owner received my feedback good-naturedly enough, but left the candle burning as he walked away. Meanwhile, I had to excuse myself, go out to the car and take an antihistamine, before I could return inside to complete the transaction because multiple chemical sensitivity is a real thing and those of us who have it spend extra time and money to avoid being overwhelmed by the off-gassing of scented products and services. I wonder how many folks complain about not having a scented candle burning when they shop for cars. ;-)

I just can't seem to trust these people. My experience: I had an intermittent issue, I brought the car in and they said it was fine. It happened again a day after I got my car back. The next available appointment was several weeks later. I book my appointment and several weeks later I bring my car back. This time the car is acting up up to the point I drop off my car. The service advisor checks it out while I'm checking it in and says it's working. I could tell he thinks it's user error but he said he would "pull the codes." (Strange that he didn't mention he pulled codes the first time) He calls me 30mins later and said they found nothing. I get the car back and it's still acting up. I ended up going to the VW dealership on the other side of town. Come to find out, they are busy but they have many appointments available and I was able to get one within 3 days. Once again, the car is working fine when I get to the dealership. The service advisor said that it's ok, they would pull the codes. This car was guaranteed to be up to date on oil changes and services and had supposedly been thoroughly checked before purchase. I ended up having to keep bringing it back, with each time the issue being claimed to have been fixed. The fourth time it appeared to actually finally be. I consistently have to add oil to my car like every two weeks and there's no leak according to the dealership. I took my car back to the dealership a few days ago for an oil change, a state inspection, and one of my tires what almost flat. Had to leave overnight and the lady at the desk very rudely told me to fill out the drop box paper. I asked where the drop box was and she simply gestured and said "that way" with no clear instruction. I repeated "where?" And again just "that way". Okay so now I drive around the building and fill out the little form explaining what I need done the next day and drop it off. The next day comes and the guy, Chad, doesn't even act like he read the sheet. He was like "I didn't see anything about tires" and I had written out what was going on. I even wondered if they were mixing up my car with someone else's. I went in when it was done and the lady at the cash register was really rude and acted like she hated her job. On top of that they tried to sell me work that I had just gotten done so it was obvious they hadn't even checked those things and we're just trying to get over $400 out of me on a $23 part that I had just gotten replaced. I don't know what's going on in this place, but I wouldn't recommend going here or getting any kind of service done.

I asked each dealer to provide written quotes so I could compare everything clearly and consistently. I detailed the exact specs/trim I was looking for. Prior to sending that message, about a week previously I did visit this dealership in person and completed a test drive. They were friendly during this visit, and I liked that they left me take the vehicle out by myself with no time constraints. Following that visit, I received multiple follow-ups, every day, over the next week across texts, phone calls, and emails (all on the same day). While I understand the importance of follow-up, the frequency felt excessive--especially since I had not responded or engaged further. When it came time to give me quotes, communication didn't align with my request to handle things in writing. Instead of receiving a clear written quote early on, I was asked to discuss details over the phone. I had specifically asked to keep communication via email to stay organized. The initial quote I did receive was for a vehicle with over 7,000 miles, which I later confirmed was a manager-driven/demo vehicle. The mileage was not disclosed from the outset, and the pricing was not competitive compared to other dealers offering actual new vehicles. After that, there were attempts to reconnect and reset the conversation, but I never received a clean, written quote on a new vehicle that matched my requested configuration. Just a request for me to call them on the phone and talk. I already had six quotes in hand from other dealers on vehicles with 0 to 15 miles, with all but one of them cheaper than what they quoted for a car with 7,000+ miles on it. In the end, I chose to move forward with another dealer who gave a great quote the first time in writing, included an accessory package as well, and made it a simple and straightforward process. I trust these folks are nice people based on my initial interactions, but folks are usually nice when they are trying to attract a sale. I appreciate the effort to follow up, but overall the experience didn't align with what I was looking for in the buying process or respectful of the information I provided to all dealers to give a level playing field (give me your best quote upfront then I'm making a decision the next day).

Following Monday I called Abbott's and informed. The response was "Bring the car, We are going to look at it". I told front desk that Acura fixed it temporarily and am hesitant to reopen that engine oil jar again next day. so told Abbott's, we will look at it during next oil change or if starts leaking again. I should not have treated as friendly neighborhood service shop. That was my mistake. ------------------------ Previous reply of yours is your understanding of the recent situation, but I want to be entirely clear: this was never about money, nor did I ever ask for a refund. My concern has always been about receiving basic respect, proper service, and professional conduct. To clarify the timeline of events: August 5th-6th (First Vehicle): I dropped off my first car on the 5th. Although I never received a call with an estimate, I paid for the DRL service over the phone without question when told it was ready on the 6th. When I picked it up after hours, I immediately noticed incomplete assembly work on the fender--including missing screws and plugs--without even needing to bend down (photo attached). August 6th-7th ( Refund Mistake & Escalation): I dropped off my second car on the 6th. When I returned on August 7th to pick it up, I paid for that car. Once it is completed, I showed the photo of the botched assembly on the first vehicle. Instead of listening or handling the matter professionally, the front desk employee became aggressive immediately, mechanic joined to his rant, and ordered me out of the office simply for asking questions about work I paid for. If you have a front desk video take a look. To make matters worse, the amount your shop later returned was actually for the second vehicle--which was less than what I paid for the DRL service on the first car--proving the refund wasn't even for the service in question and highlighting the sheer arrogance and negligence of your team. As a paying customer, I will not tolerate that level of hostility and entitlement--especially over an error as simple as failing to reinstall screws and body plugs. At the time, I mistakenly assumed the front desk employee was the owner, which is why I tried to reason with him directly. If you saw how your staff behaves when leadership isn't around, you would realize how severely they damage your shop's reputation. To make matters worse, on August 10th--only after I posted my initial review--the front desk employee called to apologize and admitted his behavior on August 7th was wrong. I declined to speak with him further, only to see your response on Yelp shortly after. This sequence makes it glaringly obvious that your shop prioritizes online damage control over treating in-person customers with basic respect. Excuses I heard on that day. 1) My screws are dirty. 2) Repeated MECANIC ARGUED QUESTION: "ARE YOU OK IF I CHARGE YOU 120$ TO FIX THOSE SCREWS" YES OR NO. He asked me to answer YES OR NO answer only. what is your answer if you are in my shoes? I would like to hear that to understand what your answer would be as customer/business owner? I will hear what your explanation also.
