I've only been to the range and I appreciate that it's full grass all year round. I hate mats. Hitting on grass feels more like the course. You can get 36 balls for $6 . 66 balls for $11. Pretty affordable read more

This is by far one of my favorite courses to play in DFW! $46 per player includes cart during a weekday isn't bad. Try to book well in advance as early tee times go fast. All tee times usually get gobbled up quick. Course has been well maintained given the extreme heat this summer. Decent fairways and greens. Tee boxes can be better. Course layout is challenging and fun. Pace of play can be slow at times so just be patient read more

Grew up playing on this course in the 80s when it was the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Good public course but expect lots of hacks out there to SLOWWW you down. Litterally saw a dad with his 12-14 year old son letting him tee off 2-3 balls, hacking up the course like crazy and just not having the consideration to speed up his play. Course is nice and challenging just too many first timers out there making the pace almost intolerable. read more

Terrible experience. There was a one hour frost delay on a morning it never got below 45. Then the pro insisted on charging me for a cart even though I was walking. He justified it by saying people need to play fast to make up for the delay. So I was charged $60 to walk a municipal. Then it was a 5 hr round and we were waiting 11-13 minutes per shot. The funniest part is when we made the turn, they had run out of carts. Maybe they should have factored that in before forcing carts on ever player. Yes, I am aware of the cart before noon policy. However, we did not tee off until almost 12:40 due to the frost delay. read more

Decent course but the range/putting greens/chipping green/short course close at 6pm even though the facility closes at 9pm. Whoever's in charge of the cart shed will shut off all the lights at 6pm and leave cuz he doesn't want to be there. read more

One of the best muni's in the area. Course is in great shape. Green for the middle Texas summer is always impressive. Fun course. Really nice practice area. Price is a touch high but I like the course Carts have gps which is nice. read more

Beautiful course with friendly staff. Played a round for the first time this season here on an 80 degree day. We got grouped up with a member named Rick who was very pleasant to play with. Had my average round of golf but had lots of fun and I really enjoyed this course. The front nine was pretty wide and open and the back nine had more holes where the window out to the fairway from the tee boxes were a little more tight and not as big. Definitely challenging on that back half. Would definitely say this course is good for beginners on the front nine. read more

Played today and it took exactly 5 hours to play. Not once did we see a course Marshall. Ridiculous.

Very enjoyable and extremely well-maintained course! Other courses in the area are comparable price wise, but you won't find the same quality of greens, fairways, and bunkers as you do at Pecan Hollow. I love that they utilize lights for the driving range; this is a great tool for those hot summers in Texas. GPS/Navigation is offered and very reliable and they have a dedicated putting green, a separate pitching green, and a small par 3 course as well. read more

The nine hole course is OK. And for the price you can play two rounds. I like it because you also have putting and a short game practice area. Definitely worth it. read more

Staff is unhelpful. Seems like laziness to me. We have a large group, looking to book a little ahead of time so we can get everyone here. No option for that. They just rely on online booking so they don't have to work. read more

This is probably one of my favorite Courses to play here in the north Dallas Area. The staff is friendly and the course is kept in good shape. The food is pretty good, better than I expected honestly and their rates are more than fair for the area and quality of the course. read more

Don't come here if you're a beginner and just want to have a fun time golfing because they won't accommodate you at all. Just called to book some time and the guy said he "doesn't know how to put this but we don't have time for people who don't know how to play." Staff is awful and rude. Don't go here. read more

Given the little rain we have had here in TX - - I just want to say KUDOS to the golf course superintendent and all the ground crew who made this course by far the best shape in public courses in the DFW area. Beautiful course and facilities. I ordered the Burger, and was pleased that it had at least a little char taste to it. It wasn't close to the best Golf Course burger Iv'e had, but it was good. The other menu items were reasonably priced. If I were to choose a course in Plano, this would be in my top 3. I'm in search of the best Golf Course Burger. Some of the best burgers I ate growing up were at Golf courses. NONE of the regular restaurants do it right. Now I'm searching what worked in the past. read more

This year, we started playing in the senior league at Pecan Hollow. The course was in much better shape that other similarly situated courses. It's sufficiently challenging without being overly difficult. The staff makes you feel welcome. It's a track that I look forward to playing again in the fall. read more

Pecan Hollow Golf Course is part of Plano Parks and Recreation. It's not the nicest or the toughest course around, but it's very affordable (~ $30 a round including cart) and it's decently kept up for a public parks course. I usually play alone and it's definitely not crowed during the weekdays. I can breeze through a round in about 3 hours or play a couple of balls and still finish in under 4 hours. It's a good course for beginners since it's a pretty wide open course. You can hook or slice it a mile and you can still find your ball. read more

Played the course last Wednesday 10/02/13. I'll give you my Pros and Cons. Pros: The course is in great shape, I didn't see a bad spot in one fairway. The greens were hard and fast but held on high shots in. The course is pretty straight with some leeway on errant tee shots. But no risk/reward tee shots. Cons: I am guessing they have a local following with people who play there a lot. We saw a sixsome and the Marshall drove by them and said nothing. We had a twosome tee off in front of us (there were two of us) and they were walking and we were riding. There were two holes in front of them wide open and the Marshall drove by us twice without saying anything to them. They never gave us a second look about playing through them. Took us about 3 hrs and 45 minutes to play 18 on a weekday, which I think is too much time. We can play Los Rios or Sherrill Park in about 2:15 on weekdays. For whatever reason it just wasn't a fun time read more

Greens are great, course itself isn't very challenging. Pace of play can often get very slow. They have marshals but they are basically useless when it comes to keeping the slow groups moving. Not sure what they do. They very much over book at this course. No break at all in between groups teeing off and that in itself contributes to slow play. Sometimes they are Closes on Mondays, other times you can drive by and see it open. Very often they block fee times off for same groups each week making it difficult for the average Player to get tee times. Very poorly managed read more

tired to update my older 2* review but kept getting error messages. course is and has been in great shape for awhile now. only down side is they 1) do not return calls to answer questions and 2) you can not make tee times online as a single so they pretty much have made it impossible for solos to golf here. FWIW the staff are friendly before this virus nonsense. also they updated their website to book tee times and it is great you can now pick walking or riding rates. now they just need to let solos book tee times and we would be set. highly recommend this course. read more

Generally a great affordable golf course. Since covid19 communication has been below par. There has also been a lack of Marshall on the course which has caused my last two rounds to be atleast an hour slower than need be. Gaps between the group ahead growing close to three holes at some points. There is no way to call the pro shop and they have been unresponsive to emails. Loved the course but the slow pace of play and no one to push them has been frustrating to say the least. read more

GREAT COURSE FOR THE AVERAGE GOLFER. Wide, well cut fairways and consistent greens that were a little slow today due to a few rain showers. Plenty of bunkers all in good condition with forgiving sand and no great cavernous holes to try to get out of. Good price at about $100 for 3 of us, with carts. Easily got around in 4 hours including sheltering from a downpour for about 15 minutes. Plenty of places to lose a ball if you have a bad hook or slice but you will end up finding more balls than you lose. Really enjoyed the day on this beautiful green course. read more

This is a public course that is average at best. The layout suits a beginner golfer and not much to it. The price is relatively low compared to other courses but I would spend the extra dollars on a better course if you are spending face value. This course does throw out special deals like crazy so if you are a deal finder then its worth it. The fairways are decent and the greens i would say are below average. This course is recommended only if you get a hot deal on the green fee... otherwise find some place else. read more

The course was renovated last year by D.A. Wiebring and that was much needed. It still plays pretty wide open off the tee and is a good course for new to intermediate players. Many new bunkers that are well kept and fluffy. Greens are in good shape, but hard and not very receptive. Play last Friday and it was not crowed at all. thumbs up! read more

A nice little track. I played with my regular group on a recent Saturday morning. The clubhouse staff were friendly and guided me to the practice tee and pointed out the first tee. The practice tee was a little sandy, but okay. The course is challenging and in good shape. read more

Course was completely renovated with five million dollars by the City of Plano reopening in 2012. The renovation was a big success resulting in very good green complexes, new sand traps, and a practice facility which any serious golfer would enjoy. We play the course two or three times a month. The greens in year two are very receptive and putt smoothly at good rate. In my opinion, the greens have enough speed to make one think the surface is bent grass instead of Bermuda making these greens the best among public courses within a thirty mile radius. Pecan Hollow has an extremely strange "no walking policy before noon" on week-ends and holidays even though the course is packed and is set up ideally for walkers. Pace of play on weekend mornings is about four hours and thirty minutes which could be greatly improved by not packing the tee sheet with foursomes in seven minute intervals instead of the traditional eight minute intervals. The greens, practice area, and new layout make Pecan Hollow an offering by the City of Plano well worth your time. read more

This is the best value within 10 square miles. The greens are flawless. Fairways are beautiful. It's wide open and great for amateur golfers. You can play 18 for $35 and it is in better shape than many $55 courses. I have played this course well over 100 times and will continue to play it 7-10 times per year. There are better tracks out there, but I promise you they are not $35. If bang for your buck is important to you then this is without a doubt your best option. read more

Love the new course and I do mean new. With the exception of a handful of holes, the course has been completely redone and it's a great improvement. The new driving range and practice green are both excellent. The short game area is unbelievable - you have to see it to believe it. The best improvements are the new 10th hole and the first cut around the greens. If you miss the green, you'll have a perfect lie, but if you miss it by a lot, you'll have a tough up and down from the deep 2nd cut. Fairways, tee boxes and bunkers were in great shape too. Overall, it's an excellent course. The only reason I couldn't go 5 stars is because of the greens. The bermuda mix surfaces roll true, but were a little slow for my liking. It's NOT the Pecan Hollow of old and I plan on going back soon. read more
