The versatile and styled ambience is perfect for a casual date, after work hangout spot, or an elevated wine tasting. Nothing pretentious here though, just lots of heart shown in the thoughtful decor, local art displays, and versatile seating - you can choose to saddle up to the bar, sit at a small table or high top with a group, or lounge in a conversation area of moveable velvet chairs for casual laughs with friends. The drinks are fun and imaginative. I sampled both the cowboy margarita that came with a cute hat decoration, and an Aperol spritz. Many of the guests raved about the mocktail options, such as their rendition of the Shirley Temple. For their size, they have a generous and well curated retail selection of wines, plus a cooler with craft beers and other beverages you can enjoy there or take home. For food they have a solid options of savory items that punch above typical bar food, such as the Croque Monsieur - that I helped myself to seconds of! - escargot, and bone marrow. The owner operator was an amazing host and her team did an awesome job quickly serving our group, who all seemed to descend on the place at once! This a 21+ spot, so you have an excuse to leave the kids at home! Can't wait to return!

We walked in and there was a dark haired woman and a short haired woman behind the bar. I said hello and they didn't even look at us!! The dark haired one walked by us two time's while we sat at the bar and didn't acknowledge us once!! Now if it had been busy in there then I wouldn't be writing this but there was literally six other people sitting there drinking!! We waited for about three minutes and said, let's go to Buds!!! You would think with a big event going on downtown they would be happy to see customers!!! One of the first things you should do when a customer walks thru the door is greet them with a simple hello or a smile!! We walked down the street to Buds and they were packed, standing room only but we were acknowledged with a smile and had drinks in our hands in about three minutes!!! Service at lukes 0, service at Buds 10+ my advice would be to hire new bartenders!!

After breaking the ice and mentioning that it was my first visit to the Davis location, while my spouse had been there a few times before, the employees became more relaxed and accommodating. I appreciated their friendly service and the generous portion of the Kava Cloud Breaker. The Davis location offers plenty of flavors to choose from, which made for a great experience. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.

However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.
