The restaurant is located in East Park Place Plaza, a few businesses down from Trend. Speaking of Trend...the owner of this restaurant is also the owner of Trend and another restaurant that is located further down in the same plaza. A lot like Trend, the decor is very trendy. I love the decorated ceiling tiles and the inspirational messages on some of them. They have just about every kind of burger you can think of, from lamb to turkey, to vegan options. I ordered the Bison burger with a side of fries. The condiment cart is located by the front door. I didn't realize that until I was leaving, not that I needed condiments. For dessert, they had cheesecake and brownies. For an additional amount of $1.50, you can add a scoop of ice cream. The service was great. The young lady that took my order asked if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes, and I told her yes but she didn't ask how I wanted my burger cooked. The burger was seasoned well and the sauce they put on the burger was really good. The fries were well seasoned, hot, and crispy. They do have outdoor seating with umbrellas if you want to sit outside and eat. I will definitely be back to try the chili dog.

The service was terrible. The staff (who, upon inquiry, I found was actually the manager) was beyond rude. The food was at best mediocre. After my 1st disapointing visit, I left vowing to spend my money where it was appreciated, black-owned business or not. I will drive the extra 15 minutes to Pressto if I want a good burger and to be treated like a human patron. Such a shame because I wanted to love it.

They have plenty of specials on some signage screens so if you go in just be aware of that. They have events like happy hour and music being played on a live situation and some other thing so just keep that in mind. Anyway, specifically about the hot dog situation, I ordered and got a beeper when it was ready. I got it and it was okay. It seemed like it was more chilly than it was dog. And because I'm from Michigan, I'm very critical on what a Coney dog should be like. Do you want the hot dog to be covered but not drowned in the chili. This was formerly a Rib joint that had good ribs and soul food but had to move out because of the high rent at this location. I know good and well this business is not staying in business by selling hot dogs, very bizarre to say the least. I wish this business would close so that a viable food business can take over this location because it's an excellent location if you have a good product.

We ordered from a couple vendors one day, including the Hot Dog Factory. We decided to share the Taco Dog, which really felt like a full meal for two (ok not really, but it was really loaded). I'm not sure the combination of ingredients worked for me but it was definitely super interesting and made for a fun Instagram photo. Next time I'm craving a hot dog and in the Halcyon area, I'll be looking in Hot Dog Factory's direction!
