Good selection of beers, and they offer samples for those who may not know the different breweries and varieties. Food is carefully prepared and ingredients seem fresh. We had mussels, kale salad, two types of pizza, and a panini. All really good. Service is friendly, but takes a while to get served from the bar (I think they could increase sales if they were a little quicker and more attentive). Not too crowded on a Tuesday night, but I have a feeling this would be a loud place on a busy night - all hard surfaces. We'd go back for sure. read more

Went on Friday night. Had to wait about 15 min for table but sat in the bar area and had a nice glass of Malbec while waiting. We were seated before they said we would be. Service was fantastic! Food came out very quickly and was delicious. We ordered spinach salad, stuffed mushrooms and mushroom and carmelized onion pizza with added prosciutto. Their homemade ricotta is fabulous. Pizzas are small...12". Kids both approved of the kids size pizzas too. Staff is friendly and very professional. This will be somewhere we go weekly in the summer when you can sit outside. I recently moved from a city to Firestone, and I've been pretty bummed about how suburban the area is and how many chain restaurants there are in this little town. So I was SO delighted to discover Peel Pizza, only 10 minutes down the road in Frederick! This place is a total gem with melt in your mouth brick oven cooked pizzas, fresh (and local) ingredients, and a creative and cool cocktail menu. I'll be back regularly! Highly recommend. read more

Ignore the bad reviews, seriously some are beyond silly. I eat here all the time and the food is ALWAYS great. If someone doesn't enjoy eating here it's because they expected a giant, soggy mall food court pizza and got something out of their usual bland orbit. It's not 2 for $11.99 one topping cardboard junk you serve at your kids bday party it's $15 ish personal sized pie for people that understand something worth eating is a couple bucks more than a fast casual chain. Peel is delicious, hip and they serve great mixed drinks. read more

Surprisingly great pizza for this small town. The margarita pizza and the jalapeño bacon pizza are must tries! Fantastically crafted and designed, it is clear these folks know the art of pizza. The chocolate mouse was wonderful. You can tell there is real vanilla bean in that whipped cream, but it is very small. The wine and beers are great and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Only disappointment was the stuffed mushrooms. The goat cheese did not go well with this traditional appetizer. But stick with their pizza and you can't go wrong. I am a bonafide pizza snob! I've traveled all over the world and seek out the best pizza in each country. Here in Colorado we have some great places serving up what I call "real" pizza, the kind Italians make in Italy, wood fired, thin crust, charred just right, fresh ingredients, etc. I'm not one for artsy-fartsy pizzas nor the deep dish slop from Chicago! So, when I drove by Peel a few weeks ago I decided "let's give it a try!" Tonight was the night, we started with a nice Spanish wine (need more Italian wines por favore!), two house salads sized just right, then a custom pizza with sausage, prosciutto, mushrooms, and green olives. Everything about this pizza was right on! We tapped out with an off-menu brownie-banana torte that was fantastico! Service was great, smiling faces abound! All of this five miles from home! These guys are doing everything right from my POV. Other than a "rocker" table (there are levelers on the base) it was a perfect evening! Delish! We were so glad to have found a good pizza place that has good beer to go with it. The spinach salad, BGT, sausage pizza, and pepperoni pizza was mouth watering good! And Parents.....they brought the food out for the kids first! I don't know if this was on purpose but it should be because they were too busy to do anything else but eat! Something I didn't like is when I ordered my favorite John Daly drink and the bartender came out himself to tell me that this drink is usually made with whiskey. At the time, whatever. But with many searches my favorite drink is indeed iced tea, lemonade, and VODKA. I don't think it was necessary or very polite to come over and try to "teach" me anything about what I have ordered. I did ask the waitress if I could have a lemonade with iced tea and vodka so it is not like I just ordered a drink like a snob without telling her what was in it. We also never received the drinks for the kids or plates and silverware for everyone. The food was awesome and when we come back next time and the time after that I do expect to be able to order a drink without a lesson especially when that lesson was wrong. ;) read more

We really enjoy this little place. Good food, beer, service, and atmosphere. I particularly like the rotating taps and the placards they use to display current selections. They go a bit light on the sauce for my taste, so you may want to ask for extra if you like sauce too. read more

Six of us came here last Friday night. The place was jammed and doing great business. You can tell the staff was still getting used to things and had a few opening jitters, but I'm sure that will pass with time. Our pizzas were good, staff was pleasant, and it was a great experience. My only negative comment would be that it seemed the tomatoes needed to be drained a little more. One person had the margherita pizza and the crust was a little soggy from the tomatoes. The bruschetta was a little soggy also. Both were very tasty, but too much moisture. But we will definitely be back! read more

Friend and I visited this place last evening and were very pleased with all aspects of the business - from the friendly hostess greeting us at the door, to the very knowledgeable and gregarious waitress, and, of course, the wonderful, tasty pizza. I would recommend the broken shovel stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and the three-meat pizza. The manager was engaging and we saw him circulating around to all of the tables making sure that everything was going well. Our waitress, Danielle, without prompting -- brought little containers of local honey and she recommended dipping the pizza crust into the honey --WOW -- no need for a dessert! The pizza crust is thin -- but very delicious, almost a pastry-side to it. We look forward to returning and will certainly ask for Danielle for our waitress again. read more

Wife and I went for dinner. We had the Jalapeno bacon pizza. A bit of burnt crust, but that was OK. The pizza itself, however, was tasteless. As to the bacon, perhaps there were 6 or 7 small pieces across the pizza. The cheese had no flavor, and the Jalapeno sauce lacked flavor or punch. Basically it was eating wood fired bread. This is reeeeally good pizza; an amazing find in Frederick, CO. NO other place remotely compares to Peel. I hope other restaurants take an interest in Frederick/Firestone area because we are desperate for good food around here. Peel has every right to be classified as a "foodie" destination with its friendly and down-to-earth staff. We ordered a veggie (the blue cheese underneath is a TO-DIE-FOR addition), a mushroom (mushroom and ricotta? sign me up!), and a Jalapeno Bacon (wonderfully spicy!). Their pizza crust? A friend recommended Peel to my husband and I a couple of months ago. We gave it a try and had a great first experience delicious food and great service. We couldn't wait to return, but unfortunately it's about a 30 minute drive from our town. We finally made it back there this past Friday night, but we were sorely disappointed. After our first experience we couldn't wait to try their seasonal specials. We arrived early and a got a seat at the bar. As we are both seafood lovers out first dish was the shrimp appetizer special. The shrimp were ROTTEN, smelled terrible and the taste was foul. I quickly pushed the plate away and told the bartender/our server to get rid of them as they were bad and smelled awful. He quickly threw them in the trash. The rest of our meal was just so so nothing like the incredible flavors we'd experienced on our first visit. And the service quickly went down hill as a few more tables were seated in the bar area who were clearly 'regulars' and received hugs from our server/the bartender. We were throughly disappointed in our meal and the service. We were beyond ready to leave...we sat at the bar for 10 more minutes credit card in hand while my husband loudly tapped his credit card on the bar in front of the now TWO bartenders and watched our server bring checks to and collect payment from two other tables not even glancing our direction. After having to ask the second bartender who said she could not provide us out bill since she was not our server we finally received the bill...we were charged for the ROTTEN shrimp!!! Unbelievable!! After our first wonderful experience we could not believe how different this experience turned out to be. We will not be returning to this establishment. Totally disgusted!! read more

I live in Frederick and could not wait to check this place out and I was not disappointed! I've been there three times now and I can't get enough. Hands down the best pizza I've ever had! I work in downtown Denver and have eaten a lot of pizza and this tops them all. The mushroom is my favorite, with added prosciutto - a recommendation from our waitress who was also phenomenal. The cocktails are fabulous as well and the bar staff excellent. The nutty russian and the new fashioned are wonderful, creative twists on the classics. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. A little pricey but worth every penny in quality, only complaint about that would be is that I can't eat here as often as I'd like!! My husband and I have been to Peel several times. Yesterday, Friday July 1st we stopped by to see if they take reservations because we were bringing some friends to dinner Saturday night. Also we asked if they had non-alcoholic beer because one of our friends only drinks non-alcoholic beer and the one owner we were talking to said no. When we showed up tonight for dinner with our friends, the owner we spoke to yesterday greeted us and said he went and bought some non-alcoholic beer for our friend. That is excellent customer service, he went above and beyond. The friends we brought tonight to Peel stated that the pizza was as close to pizza in Italy that they have ever had. The food is always amazing and the service and staff are the Best. We highly recommend Peel. read more
