This hidden gem is definitely one to try out. The staff is friendly and the pizza is delicious. They also have a unique array of local brews on tap. The only reason they lost a star was due to my most recent visit, they burnt the pizza for the 3 of us at the table and yet still served it to us. The pizza came out really fast but I would have waited longer for food that didn't taste like ash. I know they'll get it right next time ;) read more

Meh! Not so much... my wife and I each had a 1/2 side salad, shared an appetizer, each had a beer and shared dessert. The beer & dessert were very good... the salad and appetizer... below average at best. Then, to our surprise they add an 18% "team service fee" to my bill! Ouch... One of the most over priced and worst tasting pasta I have ever had. Waited 30 minutes for a pre-ordered pasta and meat and cheese tray. Pasta that arrived first and then waited for the flat bread 25 minutes. The pasta was so over cooked and mushy it should of been mashed potatoes. The meat tray had 1 slice of meat and one extremely small chunk of cheese with more greens and berries than anything. The only good part was the bar tender was very nice and sweet. Hope her $10 dollar tip with hopes of a good dinner was worth it. read more

Upscale pizza. Wood fire with gas assist. Good selection of local alcohols. House made cheese, house made sauce. Had the bacon jalapeño pizza...very tasty had a pesto sauce on it. A nice change for frederick and very similar in experience to Georgia boys. read more

Oh my gosh!! This place is amazing. Tried it out with my husband tonight and had the Jalapeno bacon pizza. Thought it would be to small for us both but it was perfect. The Jalapeno sauce was amazing. Mild yet flavorful. We were hesitant about the price but it was well worth it and our waitress was awesome. read more

Stopped in today for the first time. I love wood fired thin crust Pizza and Peel did not disappoint. The toppings were authentic not from a can and I liked the crust. Great service and they were right on top of every detail. It's not cheap but the extra cost was justified. read more

Just tried Peels for the first time and it was delicious. We had the Mushroom Pizza, Artisan Dipping Breads and Spinach Salad. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and the staff was super attentive. We were too full for dessert but will definitely be coming back for that chocolate mousse! read more

Mushroom pizza. Seriously. One of the best thing I have ever eaten. And you can have it with a well chosen local craft beer (several breweries are represented). Add to that the excellent salads, great appetizers and nice atmosphere and this is a great place. The only nit is that it is still fairly new and some of the service bugs need to be worked out. read more

We had such a wonderful dining experience. We got to watch our pizza cook in the open-fire ovens. They have very unique topping combinations. Love this place, have since they opened. I hope tonight was an anomaly. A place you can go in Frederick for great service, and food - not tonight. I get that every dog has it's day, but, it's a bummer when your Friday night is a massive let down. Arrived, host was on it. Asked for a table by the window so that we could watch the snow fall, as it hasn't happened much this year. Server was new (get it) didn't know much about the beers on tap (get it) told us she'd send over the bartender to explain a few of the selections, or offer suggestions. Ordered "warm brie" before she left. Waited for several minutes, bartender didn't stop by. Not a huge deal, as the wife got a little cold by the big windows, so politely moved to a table in the bar. Would have gone right to the bar, but an employee (perhaps a manager) had a laptop, and a couple of plates of half eaten food taking up the 2 last end spots, so picked a 2 top against the wall. A leak above the chair that my wife sat in that dripped on her triggered us to nicely (and apologetically) move to the bar that was occupied by the above referenced laptop, and half eaten food. It was moved quickly, and we took the seats at the bar. The bartender (who has taken good care of us in the past) kept his back to us the whole time we sat there (mind you, we still don't have drinks because he was supposed to fill us in on the tap offerings at our original table), never attempted to help us, just cleaned things up and polished glasses. Our "warm brie" arrived stone cold, and with bread so hard, you could knock somebody out with it. My wife and I each took one bite, looked at each other, and said "Peel is off tonight, let's just go before it gets worse". Politely asked for the bill, paid for the brie that we didn't eat, and got up to leave. As we leave the bartender asks if everything is ok, and states that he recognizes us; because we do drop some coin there from time to time. I respond "Peel is just off tonight, we want to leave, but will be back". He said sorry. Probably will go back, but not too soon. A total bummer, as Peel is usually A+. I love this place. The food is fresh and local. There are plenty of choices, some of which change with the seasons. I've been there several times and have loved everything I tried. The service is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is warm and there is an interesting use of repurposed building materials. This place is AMAZINGLY good. The service is always on point, and the pizzas are mouth watering. Is so good I actually space out visits to once every few weeks, or else I'll want to eat there every day. You could close your eyes and throw a dart at the menu of pizzas, and not be disappointed. It really is that spectacular. The drinks are also incredible. They have a wonderful list of rotating craft beers, infused booze, and crafted cocktails. They also have rotating food specials, like pasta and different pizzas, I've never ventured that way. They're creme brûlée is dangerous! Too good, if that exists. I always just order pizzas off the menu, and I have never been disappointed. The RPK (I think is the name) side salad (available as an entree as well I believe) is to die for. Check this spot out, you won't be disappointed. It is actually very reasonably priced considering the quality, service and layout. So my wife and I went to try it out for dinner. I don't know if words can describe my amazement for Peel. The spinach salad was delicious. The three meat pizza was perfect. The 12 inch pizza was perfect for my wife and I. I do think that the dessert clinched the whole experience. My wife had the moose, which left a light but amazing dark chocolate aftertaste in your mouth. I had the salted caramel peanut butter ice cream. I am an ice cream junkie, you could tell if I had a picture up, but this was some of the best ice cream I have ever had! Plus it was made in Denver. I am definitely going back. read more

WOW! YES PLEASE!!! So Colorado! Fresh, REAL food artistically melded into a symphony that would excite any mouth!! (Two words... Jalapeno Bacon!! Fricking amazing!!!) Friendly and understated "hip" staff with their eye on the ball in unison (hard to believe they only had a soft open just over a month ago!). The perfect unexpected warm weather allowed the opportunity for them to open one of the garage door style windows with the early evening sun shining across all of the reclaimed wood and lighting up the faces smiling and discussing the great food, wine and beer amidst the seductive aromas that lingered differently at every turn... ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I could honestly live here and die happy. The focus is on quality and building slow so they get it right (I was told)... smart! All I can say is go check this place out soon before the word gets out and you have to book a month in advance. My husband and I were told about this place from friends that said it was great and worth a try. We came in for lunch on Sunday. The food and service were both amazing and worth every penny. Staff was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The pizza was fast, fresh, and delicious. The waiter told us the pizzas were individual sizes so we ordered one for each of us. They were bigger than anticipated, but we took it home for lunch the next day. It's great to have a local place nearby!! We will be back and will recommend to people we know. read more

I really hate to drop my rating on this restaurant but, when we went the other night, something jumped out at us that we just couldn't ignore... It was unbearably noisy! The restaurant wasn't crowded with plenty of seats available. So it wasn't too many people. Maybe it was where we were sitting. The noise was ear piercing. We could barely hear each other. I certainly don't expect quiet in a restaurant, but I also don't expect it to be louder than a sports bar during a playoff game! (We avoid those types of establishments for that very reason.) The food is still very good. We had panini's and they were wonderful but the noise was more than distracting. At one point the bartender yelled something to someone and it felt like he was screaming in our ears. We were sitting about 20' away. I would hope this is something the owner will address. A bit of acoustic tempering is certainly in order here! I will try Peel's again and sit in a different place in the hopes it was just that table. Though if the noise level isn't any better this won't remain as one of our favorites. read more

If you want THE BEST thin crust, authentic (and yummy) pizza, go to the Peel in Frederick. Don't know about you, but I tire of the phrase "high end" however, this family-oriented place exceeds, hands down, those hoidy toidy restaurants with the best pizza I've ever tasted. It is also a fun adult place later in the evening with locally made craft brews. Salad fixings are sourced locally with an exclusive contract from a nearby farm. Also, the tear drop shaped, tiny red peppers (never seen them anyplace else) in the salads and their homemade dressings are the bomb. I can't recommend this little jewel highly enough. Went there for lunch with two little boys and my wife. Turns out it was a lot better than we thought. Pizza was amazing kids couldn't stop eating. The beer and drink menu was also a plus, great selection of beers. Possibly work with the brewery down the street to get some of theirs on tap. Over all would def recommend! Think lunch time is the best haven't been there for dinner but the lunch rush was just perfect! No wait to sit and food was fast. Plenty of room. If you haven't been check it out. Tried Peel for the first time and wow was it good. We started off with huge salads; kale for my wife and the RRP for me. Both were great. We had expected to try their pizza but instead my wife chose the Cuban panini which was scrumptious and I was intrigued and opted for their special which was a spinach pasta with peppers and bacon in a red cream sauce. Super good. An excellant waitress and greeter with a nice industrial, rustic vibe inside with good non overpowering music topped off the experience. Our only regret was not saving room for the Lavender Creme Brulee. read more

I came in with a party of 9 without a reservation on a Sunday night. We enjoyed the beer, 5 different pizzas and salads. The local ingredients and unusual flavors made all the difference. This is seriously the worst pizza I've ever had. My pizza was totally burned and tasted like a burnt tortilla. Margarita was salty and weak. The bread appetizer was plain and boring and cold. I am sad as I love wood fired pizza. And honestly can't believe the reviews!!! Will not eat there again... I'd rather have microwave pizza. But I must say our service was great except for they didn't really care that the pizza was burned!! read more

Can't say enough about PEEL. Not only is it run extremely professionally, but it's a warm and friendly neighborhood place that no matter when you go, you feel like family. Coming from the east coast, that means A LOT! That out of the way, let me tell you about the FOOD and DRINKS! Incredibly creative cocktails and the pizza is outrageous. Specials, regular menu, all fresh ingredients (mostly either grown on the premises or shipped in from some of the greatest places for food), home made and let's put it this way: we bring all of our out of town (and local!) guests here, and they have high expectations about pizza! read more

Lame hipster pizza joint. I'm guessing they couldn't afford rents in boulder so they're testing this concept in weld county. Haha. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and it didn't have cheese. We were told the pepperoni pizza doesn't come with cheese. Sure enough, after a re-read of the menu, the pepperoni pizza doesn't come with cheese. I never would've imagined I'd have to dig through house documentation to find out pizzas don't have cheese. If there are pizza gods you will pay for this. You should be brought up on charges for impersonating a pizza place. read more
