I have never come across a Peet's Coffee & Tea other than my excursions through the Philadelphia Airport. I must say that with the hectic feelings that surround airport traffic and frustrations, Peet's is a nice place to stop to catch your breath. Right after you pass through security on your ways to Gates A-E there is this small coffee shop that is assuring you they will supply you with the fuel for the morning. From one that frequents Starbucks, I can't say the coffee or food choices are better...however...the service, exceptional. Especially for a location that deal with people always in a hurry and in "crazy" mode, this Peet's crew sure keeps on their toes. I have always been greeted with a smile and "what can I get for you this morning baby?" The past two previous visits through here I have also had my puppy, Haley, and she gets much attention from the staff. She is also offered water to go in case she is thirsty, such a nice touch. This time around I ordered a double shot and a yogurt parfait (Black raspberry with granola and raisins) and it was delightful. My double shot came out within a minute and while I was fixing it at the milk/sugar station, one of the staff came over to package my yogurt, get me a spoon and put my water with napkins in a to-go bag (that was suggested, not requested). I guess I looked like I was strugglin' with a bag, coat, puppy and puppy bag ;o) SO thoughtful, it actually made my day. I think that if there were a Starbucks placed next to this location, I would choose Peet's...they have impressed me with their personalities and being a customer service freak, makes me happy! It was 7:15 in the morning, and I had just checked in for my flight from Philadelphia back to Florida. Outdoors the temperature was a "brisk" 11 degrees......(This is not a typical Florida morning, you understand?). The blood had stopped flowing through my extremities and I was focusing on keeping my core body temperature slightly above sub-arctic temperatures. I knew that I needed to do something fast, and so I started walking the length of the terminal hoping that I would not die some terrible death by frostbite while waiting for my plane. I could smell the aroma of roasting coffee long before I found the shop, and I was staggering along like an extra in a B-grade zombie movie......."Must find warm drink".... My eyes suddenly focused on a familiar sign, "Peet's Coffee & Tea" - a place I remembered from the San Francisco Bay area. I cracked the whip urging the sled dogs forward just a bit further......"Must find warm drink"..... Thankfully the barrista behind the counter recognized that I wasn't from around these parts. Perhaps it was the fact that she could see my breath, and that I was dressed up like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man -- regardless, she sprang into action and brewed up a cup of their most-excellent "Jasmine Downy Pearls" green tea, passing it over the counter just as I was going under for the last time. The tea was amazing, and the stellar customer service was very welcomed! Now, I'm not one to order a grande mocha jumbo latte with a double shot of chocolate pumpkin-spiced espresso and extra cinnamon sugar, whipped cream, and sprinkles, but there were plenty of folks in line who were ordering some mighty serious coffee treatments to get their morning started. No.....I was just happy to find an excellent loose leaf green tea. By the way, Peet's has stores all over the place and they offer gourmet coffees, tea, and a variety of freshly-made pastries. And they didn't make fun of me for being so damned cold. read more

Peet's in an airport is a fine sight, indeed. I've become a big fan of this coffee chain, which is prevalent in California but not so much in Pennsylvania. In fact, this might be the only location in PA. Fine by me, because a good soy latte is most appreciated when I'm traveling. I treated myself to a cinnamon gingerbread latte and nearly melted when I took a sip. Cinnamon + coffee is like nectar from the gods. This was my first visit to a Peet's Coffee. I've heard of them from visiting the West Coast, but this is the first one I've come across on the East Coast. Needed coffee this morning so stopped in for a cup of fresh-brewed. The coffee was good and I found it to be stronger than Dunkin Donuts but not quite as strong as Starbucks. For me it was fine, but I don't like my coffee real strong and prefer DD coffee. There is an assortment of muffins, fruit, granola bars, etc., to pick from if you want something to eat with your coffee. Service was quick and friendly and I liked the little seating area they had, which overlooks the runway. It does sit right on the other side of security, so depending on the time of day, there can be lots of people going by. Not a whole lot of other good choices for coffee in this part of the airport, so glad I gave it a try and would definitely stop in again. read more

Ahh Peet's. You unfortunately always get me in my worst moods, having just navigated the mess that is security gate D-. And even though your coffee is just okay at this location (I don't know why, but it's always better at the ING), your quick service, lack of lines, and huge selection of random energy bars always makes me smile. I refuse to try your food, despite how you always ask me if I want anything else with my beverage -- your up-sell ever impressive. But I appreciate the effort. Yea it's pricey, but it's good coffee, and no worse than Starbucks on $. I love the totally not coffee house music they play - it's mainly alt rock stuff which is kind of funny but definitely appreciated. I think I've heard Green Day 'when I come around' three different times here. Tip - there are two working floor plugs by the pillar and couch. read more

Waiting for my flight I ordered a medium Americano & an oatmeal. The Americano was a bit weak but tolerable. My oatmeal was a complex little system of one main cup of oatmeal (decent) along with assorted toppings each individually packaged including the brown sugar. I will say the McDonalds version of oatmeal could easily rival this one because it offers more fruit and all fresh. But in the airport, one cannot be too choosy. A bit on the pricey side (almost $7 for both) and not 5 star, but enough to hold me for me for the 2 hour flight. read more

You're at the airport and you want a coffee. It's the first coffee shop once you pass security in Terminal D and they have a few somewhat comfy sofa seats. It's what you'd expect at a higher price. Service was fast if not a bit unenthusiastic. read more

Of all the coffee locations in Philly Airport this is my preferred location. You have Starbucks, Peets, Le Bus, Au Bon Pain, and Dunkin Donuts. Au Bon Pain was a favorite until they stopped serving Hazelnut coffee past 10am . Peet's has friendly staff, quick service, good choices (try the Pumpkin Spice Latte...so much like Pumpkin Pie) and to top it all off they have simple syrup too! Great for those of us that dislike stirring around granules of reg sugar. I also love their almond raisin biscotti, yummy. The only drawback is they are not always up on the half and half refilling. I frequently have to go ask them to refill the container. Other than that, coffee drinkers skip all the aforementioned choices and go to Peet's. read more

It's frustrating when you ask three times if a drink can be made hot and they still make it iced. You should be able to understand an order placed and what is offered at your place of employment in order to be able to work there so that one can recieve the correct drink. Perfectly acceptable iced vanilla latte prior to take-off, served up quickly. 100% better option than Dunkin.

It's a very nice place, coffee is really strong but also good. Ohh and the pastries is good as well. I was also happy with my service.

It's in the airport, yes, but at 7am, the coffee is really fresh, right? Well, the line was 4 people deep, the coffee was very hot, the service was decent, but the coffee was way too sharp and bitter. Just not very good. Decent muffin however. Nicely baked. Pecans in it. Yum. This place is not as good as Le Bus in terminal C. Nowhere near as good. read more

It is located in a prime spot...just as you leave the TSA security screening area. If and when I fly out of Philly (with United) and I'm dragging, I usually stop here for a boost. Here's my big problem: I just don't like Peet's coffee. I live in SF Bay Area and they're everywhere. So while others may enjoy Peet's I just don't. I don't believe any of these airport coffee shops have much of a fighting chance to deliver the rarified coffee experience you'd find at a dedicated store in their respective corporate home turf. The coffee, no matter how money, has been sitting in a heated urn as late as the hour you've arrived. Most airport concessions employees are hard-pressed to get enthused enough about the product they sell to stop from taking text breaks like you'll see them do at this location, not that they'd have the means to salvage it. As much as I believe in the Peet's product, I'm not sold by this incarnation of it. However, if you're blearily meandering the terminal after a red eye flight and have a deep need for caffeine this is a decent place to buy some. Plus you can thank your lucky stars it's not a damn Starbucks. read more

Compared to Dunkin Donuts, and the rest of the outlets that sell coffee, this is the closest to Starbucks strong you'll get.

As stated by others, they have friendly staff and a good selection of coffee, tea, and bites. Wish their were more Peet's around!

Not too many choices for good coffee at PHL, so I was happy to find this one. As a bonus, it has a sitting area with armchairs and tables that's not a bad spot to kill time between flights. Best of all - no television continuously blaring news you don't really want to watch or hear! read more

i wasn't thinking of coffee exactly but the aroma led me in and it was morning......i walked in and a song, sentimental to me, was playing so i thought this is good.....i saw they had macha green tea latte they made it with soy for me it was awesome!!!! it had a fresh good flavor. beat Starbucks green tea latte by a mile or more!!!! im so sad the only place i can get a petes is behind security at the Philadelphia airport....ill just have to fly out of Philadelphia more often!!! read more

Ordered a small soy chai latte. First of all it was over 5 dollars after they charged me 75 cents for the soy. Second of all when I asked if they could add a shot of vanilla for me to sweeten it they told me they would have to charge me another 75cents for it. I decided to return the drink since I was not happy with the taste, but they said they already made it and cannot give me a refund. I had no choice but to keep it but then realized they never even added soy milk. It was only water. I went back again and told them that they didn't even use soy. They ignored me and denied it. Whatever, I just didn't want to argu so I left paying for something that I ended up throwing out. Please do not spend your money here. They are more expensive than Starbucks. It goes without saying that the service sucks. I rather get it out of a vending machine. Would hVe tasted better than whatever it was they gave me. Btw I ordered a latte which should be rich and creamy especially for 5 dollars, but instead it was bland and watered down. Terrible. Don't waste your time. read more
