This Peet's is like most, you are greeted with a warm hello. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable about the coffee. I have a soft spot for Peet's because they started in the Bay Area and I have been drinking it for years (way before that other coffee place that starts with an "S" moved in and took over the world) If you are a serious coffee drinker like myself you will enjoy the bold flavor of their coffee. Peet's also offers a variety of yummy, fresh pastries. The reduced fat banana chocolate cherry bread is sooooo good. Sounds like an odd mixture but it all works. Now, I will go to that other coffee place that starts with an "S" in a pinch. I go out of convenience, there are so many of them. What is a girl to do when she has that caffeine monkey on her back and can't find a Peet's? So unlike some, I am happy to see more Peet's sprouting up throughout the Bay Area and beyond. read more

Best staffer at this location by far is Crissy! Look for her. Ask for her. Have her make your drink when possible.... delicious drinks. Awesome service! Beyond that... this location is kind of a hassle to find (at least for me) if you don't live near it. I found it tricky to traverse the parking lot to find this corner lot locale. Once inside tho... Warm atmosphere. Diverse Crowd. Lots of wall outlets (as others' mentioned) and the insider' scoop is you can certainly get another wifi code after an hour just ask. Baked goods are delivered fresh daily and always delicious! I wishhhhhhh that Peet's would introduce bagels... (I could avoid Noah's altogether) Other than that! This is a GREAT location. read more

I guess my low rate review won't impact any of their business since Peet's is a big franchise. People who want to grab a coffee would still go there no matter if the service is good. I visited this store on Saturday noon time. It was not a busy shift. I ordered two coffees. The male barista made my first coffee very fast and told me my second order is coming up. After I got my first coffee, the other female barista was making all orders and chatting with a customer. Obviously, they messed up my orders and I was standing there for 15 minutes for my second drink. I came to the female barista and kindly asked for my second drink and told her I am running of my time to pick up my kid who is in the soccer game in the park next to this store. If she needs longer time, I can come back after picking up my kid. The female barista told me to wait and my coffee is in the line of espresso machine. She needed time to run the espresso machine line, although she has made about 20 coffees with the espresso machine while I was waiting. I asked her again how long she still needs, and she told me 10 minutes. I was shocked and asked louder since I was wearing a mask, 10 minutes? The male barista who supposed to give me my second coffee at the first time came to me and told me don't yell at her. During the whole time, I didn't hear any apology word from any of them, but it's their faults to mess up the order at the first time. As a business owner, I understand how hard nowadays to hire the staff. The hiring post in this Peet's store shows the maximum flexibilities, no appointment needed, no call needed, just walk in and fill out the application. I tried to contact the store manager. The shift lead told me that they got complains everyday and she didn't want to ask what was going on. So I guess this review won't get any attention from them. The rude staffs who tried to educate me not being rude will still be like this without any further training. People will still go there for a coffee need. The pandemic changed the ways of living, employment and service environment. To sad to see the young generation lose the passion of working. Overall, it was really sucks. read more

For an establishment that supposedly caters to "everyone" this location fails to cater to not only woman with children but parents in general. To start there is no ramp for strollers or handicapped people to access the entrance. There are 2 restrooms total and they are both solely focused on "political correctness" and that's all, labeled "gender neutral". They are oblivious to the fact that parents with children need a diaper changing station in the restroom. Or would you prefer I change my baby's poop diaper on the table in the middle of your cafe? I've always stayed away from Peet's because for a long time they didn't have food. Starbucks has been my go to quick crab and iced Americano and a small sandwich and go about my day kind of place. I was also never a fan of Peet's flavor of coffee. It always tasted like it had an undertone of dirt. If you could describe coffee that way. I was hungry at lunch time and this was right in front of my appointment spot. They had 3 different sandwich types. I got a Herb Roasted Turkey Sandwich. It was good. It had pumpkin seeds in it. Like unexpected little rocks in your sandwich. Then I got a small Americano to go. A guy sitting out front had his shoes off. Really? Aren't you embarrassed? Shoes, with socks piled up next to him out side for all the world to see. Who does that? I have an issue though with my food. I ate my sandwich, and about 15 min after eating, I got so horribly sick. It was definitely my sandwich. I question the freshness now and the temperature. It made me so Ill with food poisoning. So again, Im off the Peet's wagon. read more

We stumbled on this Peet's coffee as we were on our way to visit some friends in the area. You kind of have to know how to enter the parking lot because otherwise you have to make u-turns, go through the back side of the parking lot and loop around to get to the store front. I'm sure if you're a regular, you know the drill but us out-of-towners took the scenic route. It was the day after Christmas and I was shocked that the store was so busy. Nearly every single table was taken. Luckily, we were picking up our drinks to go. Despite the activity in the store, service was very friendly and they were super efficient. Gotta love it! When we checked in on Yelp, they gave you a $1 coupon off of your drink which was awesome. Love discounts like that you can actually use. I must admit, until a few years ago I wasn't even a coffee drinker. Now I am and sometimes it is hard to stay away. Came into Peets today and I am a Starbucks person. I normally get the Java Chip at Starbucks and was looking at the board while at Peets looking for something similar. I didn't see anything so I had asked. I am glad that I did. Christina took my order and then she even made my drink because she knew how to make it in her head since it was a special order. How awesome is Christina, she even wrote down the recipe so others can make it for me if she isn't there. 5 stars for amazing customer service!! ok peet's! you really need to do something about that long row of cushioned seating you have. each and every time i come to peet's i love to sit here but i always forget about the situation going on here. last time i was here i sat down pretty quickly and i noticed the woman to my left popping up in the air next to me. these seats make the people sitting close to you pop up when another body is forced down on the cushion next to them. when i took my mom she sat next to me and that same poor woman really got some air on that one. i told my mom what was going on and she was so embarrassed but we had a good laugh afterwards. this really needs to be dealt with soon because i can see someone getting seriously burnt by some really hot coffee one of these days. i still love the place but leave a sign so i can remember to sit down slowly and softly so i don't look like an ass! :) read more

Honestly if there was a Peet's closer to me I think I would convert from a Starbucks drinker. My friends and I stopped here after a fruitless search for Starbucks in Pleasanton, we seriously could not find one for some weird reason! Anyway we found Peets and I'm glad we ended up coming in. The service was great, our cashier/Barista was named Gina... I had a Caramel Freddo which is like a Caramel Frappachino equivalent. But- it was only $2 for a medium (which is their small size) because it was Friday!!! It's their current promotion they have going on. This is one of the smaller Peet's I've come across. They do have a tiny parking lot and they're all 20 minute spots? It's so close to me I'd rather walk and sit outside. I've always liked Peet's for their variety of teas because I drink tea like it's going out of style. Wonderful location, staff and service! This is pretty close to my house and even though I frequent Starbucks, this is more of a hang out type of environment. Never too busy and very friendly staff. This is a fitting place to study or meet someone you met online, if you wish (lmao). I usually frequent the Starbucks because it has a drive thru and I'm lazy, and also for the rewards club. Nice location, friendly baristas, good coffee, and home-y ambiance. Plus, AC and Free Wi-Fi (with purchase) is always nice during the hot summers. Good place to meet up with friends, but not so much for studying/reading unless you're good and blocking out the loud noise of blenders and coffee grinders. Did you know when Starbucks first started, they bought their coffee from Peet's? Doesn't that make you feel sorry for Peet as he saw this company blow up in his face? I'm not a big coffee drinker, but when they break out the holiday drinks and cups this time of year, I can't help but stop by and grab a cup. After sipping my mocha here, I realized how much syrup Starbucks puts in theirs. Pair this with a strawberry scone and you're set. The employees here are really nice and they have a lot of regular customers that they know by name. I've always wanted a place where they know my name and they're always glad I came. I really like this new Peet's location, although the parking is a little rough. I usually park in the extended lot for the other businesses. Even though the other Peet's (on Tassajara) is closer to where I live, it is always loud and doesn't have cozy booths, so I prefer to come to this one. This new Peet's feels bigger, has more convenient seating for studying, and of course, makes delicious espresso drinks that *gasp* actually taste like they have some espresso in them, instead of other chain's combinations of sugar and milk. Also, I prefer supporting Peet's than the other readily-available alternative, Starbucks, because of what I've learned about how both companies do business. read more

I'm in the area temporarily from Seattle, so perhaps I am a bit spoiled from all the small artisan coffee shops. Love Peets, and will always choose them over the 'Bucks'. However, as I was in the area visiting this morning I stopped at this Peets location for my caffeine fix. I was quite disgusted that an employee there, Jamie, continued to cough without even attempting to cover her mouth as she went about brewing coffee and preparing orders. She was not a teenager and should know so much better. She coughed so much and so obnoxiously loud that I looked at my cashier and Jamie directly in the face to see if either was going to acknowledge it, seeing as my facial expression was quite disgusted, but neither did. I love Peet's and that location is beautiful. Peet's offers sugar free syrup which is a game changer for me because I am diabetic and allows me to have mochas without spiking my sugar levels. I know that it is a small thing but to me it makes a world of difference. The staff are courteous and helpful. I am a true Peets person but this Peets in Pleasanton does not stand up the the Peets standard. They are slow and not as friendly as others such as Dublin, San Ramon or others I have been too. This is stuff is a magic elixir, a strange and wonderful brew, a potion of awareness and sensuality! What is it about Pete's that separates it from the pack? Why is the taste heads and shoulders above Starbucks? I don't know. This Peet's Coffee & Tea feels like it's in a world of it's own when you sit down for a cup of their delicious coffee or teas. The free wifi makes it a nice place to study or hold a meeting and the staff is very courteous and greeted me with a big smile. This location was the middle point for some of us to meet up and just talk/plan/brainstorm. It was nice and cool inside while it was heating up outside. The only downside is there isn't enough power outlets for all the laptops. But it was cool to see outlets higher up on the walls near the ceilings. read more

ZERO stars for BAD customer service. Today, I walked into this Peet's location, stood in line to make my order. When it was time to serve me, the order service specialist got busy with some other work and went to take care of it. Meanwhile, another order service specialist briefly made eye contact with me and went to the next cash register and started serving other customers who came in AFTER me and stood in line BEHIND me. I was thinking that they would may be serve one customer, realize that they had forgotten about me and would take my order. That did not happen. They started serving another customer and at that point I decided to ask if there were TWO lines instead of one. The order service specialist did not like the fact that I even questioned this treatment and reluctantly asked me to give my order. Now comes the best part. He then proceeds to LECTURE me on 'how I need to wait till I am being called to the register'. The AUDACITY of the service specialist to assume that I would not know the basics of ordering coffee in a coffee store. I would not have minded it much if this was a genuine mistake and the store folks realized it and made amends for it as they would do for any customer. I was deeply ASTONISHED by the fact that the store folks assumed that they know all ETIQUETTE and I know NONE. I stormed out of the store without placing an order. If I wanted to get insulted, I would rather do it free of cost than spend money on it.
