I would take my daughter to a prep course in this neighborhood for the past month every Sunday and I didn't know where to go for the 1.5 hours that I needed to wait for the class to end. So I walked around and came across this diner. The waitress sat me down as soon as I walked in and took my order immediately. I asked for freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. It went wonderfully well my order of eggs with kale. I have to say that the best dish that I absolutely there was the Greek Beeny which was Benedict eggs on muffins and a homemade hash brown. I loved the fresh ingredients and that it came out steamy. I no longer go all the way out there on Sundays but would like to go back at be day for brunch with my family.

They have an extensive menu and specials. You can have brunch as well and the menu should satisfy everyone. We had the Peaches and Cream French toast and also the blueberry pancakes with eggs. The French toast was made with challah bread. It's a light meal and the French toast is a little on the small side. I would have like to if the portion was a little larger.It was made well and was tasty. The blueberry pancakes were the star of the show. I am not a huge pancake person although I felt these were among the best I've had. If you come here on the weekend plan to have a wait of usually around 30 minutes. I would recommend them for breakfast or lunch and will be back.
Best breakfast and brunch & fresh, tasty, and cozy! My husband and I have dined in and ordered delivery a few times from Pegasus. It's a small spot with seriously quality food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When the place fills up, they have booth seating which is nice and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you want to avoid the crowd, try coming after 3 or 4 pm when it's quieter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their eggs Benedict is my go-to. I love it with a side salad and unlimited coffee refills (yes, please!). My husband swears by their burgers, and we're both big fans of the waffle fries. We've even made it a fun competition to compare burgers and fries with other local spots like Bayridge Diner and The Monk but Pegasus wins for quality every time. Heads up: If you order delivery too close to closing time, the packing can get a little messy. Sometimes fries come without ketchup or utensils, and the bread on the eggs Benedict can be a bit burnt. But I get it they're hustling to close up shop, so no stress. Plus, delivery usually comes straight from them, not a third party, which is a big plus. Tried the mimosa once & it's smaller than I expected, so probably a pass next time. No cash, just Venmo for payment. Delivery: 7/10 Dine-in: 10/10 Staff: 10/10 Food: 15/10
Try as I might to find a place closer to our apartment that's as good or almost as good is just impossible and I'm going to give up trying. Pegasus is simply the best and today I made a new discovery. What is that, you may ask? The spinach salad with sweet bacon vinaigrette dressing. Oh my goodness. The salad was humongous and I pretty much finished every bite. This salad came with baby spinach, red onion, sweet red roasted peppers, feta and the most delicious hot sweet bacon vinaigrette that tied it all together perfectly. It was the winning combination of heat and sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pegasus can do no wrong in my eyes and I will gladly travel to Bay Ridge for the terrific food, awesome staff and the wonderful vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
This morning was the third or fourth time we've been to Pegasus. I made sure to take plenty of photos. When we arrived, there was a 25 minute wait for a table. The 25 minute wait turned into about 10-15 minutes. That was lovely! We sat down, were handed menus and about 60 seconds later a very tall, professional lady with a definitive 'get-'er-done'-notion approached our table and asked if we needed a few minutes. Luckily, we did our homework, studied the menu prior to arrival and knew what to order: I ordered Avocado Toast, swap the salad out for House Homefries and a cup of Tea with cream g Sucralose (yesIknowitcancausecancerbutIdon'tuseitmuch) and my man ordered the Kickass Benedict with Coffee. We had about 20 minutes to sit and chitchat before the order was up. Very reasonable amount of time. I coated my House Homefries & Basted Eggs with some Salt & Black Pepper before digging in. Everything was very good, particularly the homefries. They use a bit of green bell pepper in their Homefries, which adds a great differential in flavor. The Avocado Toast - I wish I could be as exuberant with my opinion, but I just can't. The Avocado was super "skimpy". The slice of ciabatta bread that held the Avocado Toast as a 'foundation' was pretty long, and on this bread, there were, at the most, four 1/4" slices of Avocado. ... Umm...? Regardless, the eggs were eggs, and that was that. The Kickass Benedict - from the first visit to today's visit, this has been the ONLY dish my man has ordered and he's loved it every time. Today, I tasted the hollandaise sauce (that gets spooned over the poached eggs). I can tell you that it was definitely yummy BUT! If you can't handle some heat, this is NOT the dish for you. Wooooah baby!! I *think* the entire floor of the restaurant (excluding the guests seated at the bar) is handled by only 1 waitress (the uber-professional one), with another waitress handling only top-off's of beverages, but I could be wrong. Due to the understaffing, we waited about 15 minutes for someone to notice that we were finished, and that we were ready to have our plates removed. We waited another 15-20 minutes before we could grab the attention of someone to ask for our cheque. The total for everything was definitely reasonable. Luckily, we weren't in a rush. It was just a lot of time spent on "waiting". Overall, I'd NEVER rate this restaurant as anything negative. However, I can't say this establishment is "Stellar", either. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a beautiful restaurant that will supply an exquisite ambience during a 'better-than-average' meal, for a fair price. These are all GREAT attributes[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Frankly, I look for a little more than this, in a restaurant. Although I was not disappointed, I unfortunately was not impressed.

We came early in the morning and we were seated right away, but shortly after the restaurant got packed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have bar seating and booth seating. Booth seating is kind of small, but we were a group of 5 and we were able to sit comfortably[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Staff was nice and attentive. Food was delicious and we all enjoyed every bit of it. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs which was soo good. My friends ordered huevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The pancakes were amazing, which we ordered to share amongst us. The pancakes were thick, and so fluffy. The food portions were a good size and we left feeling so full. We loved our meals, and want to come back again to try more stuff.
Tried the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, Bananas Foster French Toast, and an Iced Cappuccino -- and everything was absolutely on point! We had to wait about 40 minutes to be seated, and the food took a little while to arrive. This place is always full, so I definitely recommend calling ahead to check availability or ask if they can hold a table. That said, the wait was 100% worth it. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is nice and cozy, with indoor seating only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a great spot to relax and enjoy a good meal. I'd absolutely recommend this place for brunch or breakfast -- just be prepared for a bit of a wait!
I went here for brunch at 11:30am. When I arrived, I had to give my name and phone number to the hostess. Hence, she called me when a table was available. She estimated it was going to be an hour wait. At noon, we were seated. This restaurant was quite busy. Moreover, there were three people I encountered. The waitress who took our orders. The busboy who delivered our drinks and he set up the table for us. Also, the hostess was the one who refilled my coffee cup. I ordered the Kick A** Benedict. It was different. Typically, it is served with English muffins. This dish had it with ciabatta bread instead. I wish the hollandaise sauce was spicer. The Benedict had a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. I expected "kick a**" to have a kick to it. It was quite mild. The hash brown was ok. I had to add salt and pepper to it. I would come back here to try other dishes. I want to see why this restaurant has such high ratings.
Pegasus is a place that gets everything right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The kitchen is efficient, the atmosphere is welcoming, and you can feel the attention to detail this establishment puts into everything, down to the silverware (sturdy and feels good in your hand).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This family business understands proper hospitality. The menu is not overloaded with options but still provides a solid variety of choices. They stick to what they're good at and they succeed. I ordered the Kick A** Benedict and I was skeptical, but it delivered. The texture of the bread provided a light crunch and perfect mouth feel. The hollandaise sauce was unique and differentiated itself from other Benedicts, so the dish was far from boring. The pancakes were exactly what I look for in a pancake. Perfectly golden crispy outside, soft inside. Not much more to say than they got a simple classic just right. Wait was not too long as the staff here is efficient in serving and providing service. I look forward to my next visit at this authentic, local classic.
I usually go to Mike's Diner but wanted to change it up. The wait at Pegasus on a weekend morning wasn't too bad. We called in advance to put our name to the wait list. Those that asked for a table when they got there had to wait about 10-15 minutes is what I observed. I got the peaches and cream french toast. The flavors were nice but I was left pretty hungry after. I guess I wished there were combos or sides that came with my dish like Mike's Hungry Man Meal. My partner got the Kick Ass Benedict. It was a bit spicy but like its name, it was just a kick. My partner was also hungry after. I wouldn't come here again but the Christmas decorations and spirit/vibes were top tier. Everyone was coming in greeting each other, the bar seats was almost full as well. It was just bustling in there.
This place is hidden in Bay Ridge but offers an old school diner vibe that is super cute and cozy. The staff is super friendly and the food is well priced. 1. BANANAS FOSTER FRENCH TOAST (8/10): This was delicious. If you are feeling something sweet, I would definitely recommend this. It had really great toppings that paired well with the French toast. 2. TEX MEX BREAKFAST BURRITO (8/10): This was a solid choice. It was big and came with waffle fries. It was filling and they did not skip out on what is inside the burrito. 3.OMELETE (7/10); This tasted like a classic omelete. It was good but did not stand out that much. On the weekend there is usually a small wait but most of the time we are seated almost right away.

The service was prompt because we sat at the bar. It seems to get very crowded and the wait may be extensive. It's a small restaurant. They do have a cute affordable selection for brunch. I do love the fact that they make freshly squeezed grape fruit or orange juice. I ordered eggs sausage and pancakes. My uncle ordered scrambled bacon and hash browns with toast. Had a half day left before my flight home, so I decided to check out this place based on location and recommendations of fellow Yelpers. After taking a few minutes to go over some yummy sounding options like chicken and waffles, peaches and cream French toast and an Irish Breakfast (at a Greek diner! I love New York!) I decided to try their "Kick A$$" Benedict. Basically, it was poached eggs, Canadian bacon and hollandaise sauce, but instead of the classic English Muffins, they top two pieces of toasted ciabatta that was sliced with a serration and had a great texture to it. A few red pepper flakes on top also gave it a nice flavor, but was not too spicy. It came with home style potatoes, which were pretty good. Service was fine, not overly friendly but the waiter didn't act bothered when I informed him I'd need a bit of time with the menu. The only downside I would say is the busboy was a little slow on coffee refill. The coffee itself was good though, and I would come back next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

What a gem! My visit was for some delicious brunch on my birthday, their brunch prices are so wallet-friendly! So far after my two visits I've tried their kick a** benedict, breakfast tacos, avo-pesto smash, and their chicken & waffles. Additionally, I've also had their mint lemonade and their grapefruit juice. I also highly recommend their chicken rice soup which will warm you right up! Although the restaurant is small, I did not wait long because it was only two people in my party. However, if you have a larger group then it would be a longer wait. Once you're seated, the waiter comes quickly to take your order and then your food comes shortly after. My absolute favorite things about Pegasus is the decent prices and the tasty food (especially the waffle fries!!) read more
As a millennial, the concept of brunch has been turned from a meal eaten between breakfast and lunch into a boozy, multi-hour ordeal that has become more about the champagne and bloody marys than about actual food and a conversation. That's why I prefer my brunches at Pegasus. Much like the mystical creature from Greek mythology, Pegasus manages to feel magical. Sporting both regular diner fare as well as a more unique brunch menu, this small restaurant in the heart of Bay Ridge is a great place to go to sit down and have a bite. Service is always friendly and quick, on account of the depth and width of the restaurant. One of my favorite items on the Pegasus menu has been the french toast. Thick slices of challa bread, coated in a bourbon glaze makes the morning seem just a bit brighter. While other diners might ground up some dirt and run it through the coffee filter, the coffee here tastes incredible - no overburnt taste or gritty after bite. Prices can be a bit expensive relative to other diners, however the quality of the food far makes up for that. Additionally, given the limited seating the restaurant has, be prepared to wait a few minutes for a seat - even longer if you come during peak meal times! read more

Really great breakfast selection. We've visited about 3-4 times, and have probably tried to eat here about 8. We live in the neighborhood and it just isn't worth the long wait for us due to that. The food is really tasty and their pancakes are by far the best I've had in a long while. If you are coming from out of the area, just make sure to get here early. We've gone in around 8am and it can be easy to find a seat, but go around 9:30-3pm you are in for a wait. It's a super cozy and cute place with great staff. They do a great job keeping your coffee refilled and the food is always fresh. I got the chicken and waffles last time I was in and you can tell the chicken is hand breaded and very fresh. The waffles were also great and the sauce it comes with is excellent. My spouse got the mozzarella omelet and it was tasty too- I'm just not a huge omelet person so I was really happy with my choice. For sure will be back and it's certainly worth a visit! Their orange juice is also EXCELLENT and is freshly squeezed! read more

I came to Pegasus for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was crowded, but we got a table right away. I ordered a latte and it was great. My friend had a coffee and their coffee was really good as well. We both ordered an omelet with feta cheese, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and spinach. We had turkey bacon on the side. The food was really good. The service was also pretty good. I would say this is definitely one of the better diners and I will definitely return for breakfast. I originally gave Pegasus 4 stars but am updating my review to 5 stars because I come here frequently and every single time it is delicious. The coffee is great and the food is simply delicious. There's no other diner that can compare. It gets super crowded on weekend mornings, but the wait is never very long. read more

My friend and I came here for brunch last weekend and this place exceeded all of our expectations. It's no wonder this place was packed when we first walked in. Pros: 1. Service: The gentleman who served us was extremely nice and attentive and he made sure our orders were made to perfection. 2. Food: The pancakes I had were really fluffy and delicious. As a self-professed bacon addict, I must also note that their bacon was some of the best I have ever had. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice. 3. Cute fall décor: the decorations inside made this place feel really "homey" and our experience was very pleasant. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. read more

Ordered breakfast/brunch to go. Was very happy with COVID protocols. All staff were masked, temperature taken at door, hand sanitizer available, dividers at the counter - and still staff was friendly. Got food to go. Bananas Foster French Toast and cappuccino were both delicious. Another person in my party had eggs, hashbrowns, roll with butter, and a coffee and said it was excellent as well. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. The morning and noon rush looks almost gone. I was recommended to have the mint lemonade bye 3 servers. I guess they were trying to push the drink-they succeed. I'm not a lemonade fan, but I ended up drinking it all so that shows something. I got the Burbon French Toast and the other got the Chicken and waffle. I don't think there was anything special about the French Toast-all I remember is that it was really good. THE BREAKFAST WAS INSANELY DELICIOUS! The place has that old style, small diner feel, but the food was anything but ordinary. I ordered the "Angry Crab Cakes Benedict", 2 Eggs Benedict with a light delicious lump crab cake on an English muffin topped with this perfect, spicy Hollandaise sauce. There was a small mesclun salad next to it with these luscious slices of juicy heirloom tomatoes topped with a delectable, reduced balsamic vinegar that tasted like it was a 20 year old aceto balsamico from Italy... MIND BLOWN!!! I was not expecting this, it has to be one of the best breakfasts I have had in a very long time!!! I spoke to their guy, Chef Harris, he definitely pays attention to detail. It was good to know people like this still exist. If you want diner food, don't come here... This is way too good to be called that. Thank you for making my birthday breakfast "Special". read more

Just want to point out that the yelp hours for this place is wrong. It said that it was closed Monday, when in fact, it was open. Anyway, came here for brunch with my friends. I got seated right away. There's no where to hang your jacket which was a little annoying. Also, it was pretty dim inside for a daytime meal. I ordered the kick a** benedict. Food came of relatively quickly. My dish was comprised of ham and poached eggs on top of toasted ciabatta bread. Honestly, I did not really enjoy the meal. Flavors were lacking and this dish just did not appeal to me. The ham was too salty, while egg was flavorless and the sauce was too spicy. There was not harmony between the flavors. I did enjoy the homefries that the dish comes with. However, meal only cost $11 which is relatively cheap with large portions. I don't know if I will be back because I think there are diners in the neighborhood that tastes much better. read more

Let's start with the reason this is a 2 and not a 1. I feel like when you see a 1 of a 5, people don't take it seriously. I want people to see this. First off, it's cash only, which is so inconvenient for the customer. Now, cash only is for two reasons. Either 1) you don't want to pay the credit card transaction fee or 2) you don't want to report all your income to the government. So, at the very least your prices should be less, to repay the customer for the inconvenience, and because you still can maintain your profit margin. That didn't happen here. Prices were the same or more as other coffee shops who do except credit card. We sat in a booth and wanted coffee around 230, post lunch crowd. The waitress asked us to sit at the counter, if we weren't going to order food. We had some things to review for work and wanted the space and privacy of a booth. She told us that we could not sit there because "she" had a line of people waiting at the door to sit and order food. Please see attached photo as to the size of the line. (Hint: no one is there). Furthermore, there were 3 other booths open besides ours. The bottom line is the waitress didn't want to waste time on a small tip. She even told us to go down the street to a coffee shop if we just want coffee!!!! On their front window they proclaim themselves to be a "Coffee Shop"!!! Might want to remove that decal. As far as the cappuccino, I will give a far assessment, regardless of the horrible service. The coffee was a little watery and bitter, for me. I liked the amount of cinnamon and the coffee mugs were nice. As you can tell I don't plan on being back here. It's a shame. read more

3 1/2 Stars. Although friendly service & attentive, brunch was ok. We came here for the 2nd time (both for brunch) last time I ordered the french toast with peaches, this time; waffles & chicken tenders. 1 of my chicken tenders was rubbery. My Boyfriend got the eggs benedict (all items we ordered from the brunch menu) I think he got that last time too. The freshly squeezed orange is great of course. If we were to come back we'd try their lunch or dinner dishes. Lastly, why is it so dark in there?? We sat at the 3rd booth, and we started looking up & around, like where is the light?? They had lights on but it was pretty dark so we sat in a booth closer to the window by the entrance. A few minutes later in comes 3 women, who sat right behind us in our original booth we heard "I can't see sh*t!" Lol. read more

This diner is next to a Carvel so one might not really notice it due to dim windows and a small doorstep. Once you step inside, you might notice a line or at least a lot of busy workers, but the atmosphere is homey and warm. The waitresses and waiters there will come by to ask how you're doing and it's best to come with less than 6 friends because tables are small and it gets packed here on the early morning/brunch time. Pegasus closes earlier than most restaurants, but their food is something I love coming here for. Some people might rate their food average, but I loved here for the experience. Their omelettes are huge and home fries are stuffing. Sometimes I get so comfortable in their chairs I have trouble getting up struck with food coma. They have fresh squeezed juices and really good soups. I usually come here on Friday for their cream of turkey. read more

This place is CASH ONLY. This place is your standard diner. But they offer a limited brunch menu with staple brunch items like eggs Benedict, avocado toast, French toast etc! The brunch prices are well priced relative to the city - flat $11 dollars any brunch dish. And discounted fresh squeezed orange juice and latte if you order a brunch dish ($2.50)! The orange juice is small - maybe 8 oz? 10 oz? I had the bourbon French toast with bananas and almonds! The almonds gave the toast an extra crunch which I loved. Service was good/average. They also serve this brunch on weekdays (came in on a Monday afternoon). Or maybe they just have it all the time... But that's a thumbs up for me. read more

So this place as my wife and I walk by has ALWAYS been packed... but we finally decided to venture out and see what the hype was all about. We popped in brunch and was not really greeted by anybody, but one of the waiters pointed at a table signaling us to sit there. This place is a really small, mom-and-pop type of brunch place which has its own hipster/city like charm with its decor of the bar and seating arrangements. The menu was pretty straight forward, but we decided to order off their "BRUNCH" menu that looks like it changes occasionally. I went with chicken and waffles and my wife ordered the french toast. The waffles were whatever -- nothing to really write home about, but the chicken tenders/strips as they advertise "NEVER FROZEN" really delivered. It had to have been one of the most tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked chicken strips I've ever had! It was perfectly accommodated with their homemade honey-dijon sauce. French toast with diced almonds and bananas -- my wife loved them; but I wasn't too big of a fan. It tasted very bland. Overall, this is a nice little place to have near by; you should definitely check it out but remember, they are cash only with no ATM on site, so come prepared! read more
