Our visit took way longer than expected. It took half an hour to get our food (not all of it) which seems a bit ridiculous for an establishment like this. I asked for my dish to be spicy, said they could put crushed red pepper in, but they didn't end up add it. When I asked for some, all they had was chili paste packets. After we ate our meal, we waited and waited for our last food item that was not brought. We had to get someone's attention twice to say what was missing because at that point we've stayed too long. When the dumplings arrived after the long wait, they were not what we expected. They almost looked raw and not cooked. I understand they are steamed but it was slimy and unappetizing. From this experience, we realize understaffing may be a problem. They need a bigger team for this franchise. read more

When a few weeks ago, had a great experience, came back today horrible, horrible service food had a weird smell to it. Everything was chewy and not in a good way. They said leave a five star review for some donuts and still charge us anyway. Overall just don't recommend. Paid for donuts twice to only receive 4 small donuts. We are fans of Pei Wei and usually visit the Winter Garden location. However today I received the email coupon for the $20 meal deal and were going to see a movie at the Altamonte Mall so stopped here instead. It was busy but not fully packed however looked as if they were maybe short staffed. Many tables had plates and food leftover that still had to be bussed. We received all of our food together which was nice and hot. The lettuce wraps were a let down. I am sure with the meal deal these were being made all day but these seemed dry, tasteless and had a burnt taste. So not sure if it was batch and held on a warmer or burner that kept cooking it. We each ordered the Teriyaki and the Kung Pao. These were hot and crispy vegetables but lacked much sauce or flavor. The donuts were warm and delicious. Overall this was not the normal Pei Wei experience we have so it won't stop us from going there in the future. read more

I asked if I could get a lil more and he grudgingly add one more scoop to fill the container then says "a side of rice is one scoop." The "one" scoop he put in before was hardly a scoop. I also ordered Dan Dan noodles with veggie and tofu substitute. They only put 3 small pieces of tofu. The wonton soup was shit. It tastes like wet rags. They seriously need new management. Nice little chain for semi healthy foods. Had the one of the noodle bowls which was delicious. Price are fairly reasonable. Service is generally prompt and courteous. The food here is disappointing. It's bland, lackluster and the rice is dry. Like a lot of disappointing restaurants in Florida, this was no exception. It's not authentic asian cuisine at all. The service here was very friendly and the staff was very nice and polite, but the food did not impress. I would call this place the Asian equivalent to what Taco Bell is to Mexican Food The restaurant also has weird hours, closing at 8:00pm. Isn't that supposed to be prime Dinner time? My tip: Only get Asian food from an Asian restaurant owned and operated by Asian people. Then the food will more likely be authentic. If a restaurant closes too early, like at 8pm, that is a huge red flag. There is clearly a reason why pe aren't wanting to eat dinner here. read more

I had the tofu coconut curry and it was fresh tasting but the sauce was very bland. I was really hungry so I ate almost all of it. However, I probably won't go back to this restaurant in the future. I also got the vegetable spring rolls and the texture was mushy and slimy and they were too greasy. They had good flavor though.. oh well. Moving on! read more

I won't trash this location off of a single experience but it frustrated me enough to make my way here to Yelp. Pei Wei had an offer for 2 rice bowls for $10 which clearly was a good deal that many people would flock to and would order. It certainly appeared to be the case given how busy the store was. Complaint I have today is simple on the customer service side. The website first and foremost refused to allow me to place an order for this pickup despite me attempting to put one in an hour and a half before close. So I went to call to order instead. Well 7 minutes into being on hold with no one acknowledging me besides an automated machine, I just started to drive to the location. I arrive and jump in line and hear several other people complaining about their wait time. By the time I get to the employee to ring me out I was on hold for 30 minutes since I left the call going. During that time not a single person picked up the phone to let me know they are aware I am waiting. I then proceeded to wait 20-30 minutes for my order to be ready, just about the exact time I was on "hold" for. Ordering ahead is to avoid exactly this. If such a promotion is being offered they should know to have the appropriate staff for such an influx of orders. It was basically a BOGO day and they were not prepped for it. Food was great otherwise but very frustrating to wait such a time when I went through the appropriate avenues to avoid waiting in line and for the food to be done. read more

My sister and I visited the Altamonte Springs location for lunch on July 24. She asked if the veggie spring rolls were still gluten free. The cashier was new and unsure, so went to ask the manager. The manager came over then added them to the order. When they arrived, they were clearly fried. The manager apologized, took them away, and brought me a new receipt stating that he "took care of it". Problem is my credit card was charged the original $38 total, not the $29 adjustment... Nor did I receive a $9 credit. I messaged the store about this (over a week ago now) through their website and was never contacted. Feel like this store robbed me of $9. Bad business. I will not return to this location. read more

I've been to Pei Wei many times, mostly at this location. Before we get to the food review we're going to get something out of the way. I have never experienced disgruntled,mean, or rude employees at Pei Wei until today. The lady taking the Cash-Register was extremely rude. She was called to the register while another girl (one with glasses) was called to do something else. The lady that replaced the women with glasses was extremely rude to the lady in front of us an us. A bad attitude, and very impolite. The reason this bothers me so much is because I've never experienced this kind of service at Pei Wei! The employees are usually nice. Now let's move on to the actual food. Food at Pei Wei arrives fast sometimes and slow sometimes. It usually depends on the amount of people in the restaurant. This time it arrived at a medium pace. One of our dishes was messed up. Once again this was the disgruntled employees fault. We accidentally got Kung Pao instead of Korean Spicy but they let us keep the Kung Pao. This has happened before but I don't mind because they usually offer the accidental dish. My Honey Seared as usual was delicious. So was the Pei Wei Spicy as usual. Korean Spicy was good too. The rice was fine today, sometimes it is not properly cooked. The store is always clean and well kept. All in all we go to Pei Wei quite frequently and this would be a five-star review if it wasn't because of the terrible cashier. One of my favorite Asian "fast food" restaurant! I like their Pei Wei Spicy chicken salad and I normally don't use their salad dressing since the spicy chicken sauce is enough for the whole salad. It's normally fast but it gets pretty busy during lunch time so finding a table can be tricky sometimes though outdoor seating is available but who wants to seat outside during hot summer? This new Pei Wei is located in the Renaissance Plaza, adjacent to the Starbucks, in Altamonte Springs. YAY!!!!!!! Finally another Pei Wei in the Orlando area. This location is super close to my office, so I can see myself here quite a bit for a well cooked, quick bite. Ordered take out, was a very quick process on the phone, my order was immediately taken, confirmed and I was out the office door to sit in lunch traffic to get my goodies. I arrived to a packed restaurant and lines for both the dining in and the take out check out. Restaurant looks to be slightly larger than the Colonial location, but that could just be the oblong layout. Take out line was quick, my order was again confirmed (no scallions, brown rice) and I had my meal in hand. The line at the dine in line had cleared very quickly and people were off to get seated. Back at the office- Crab rangoon were outstanding, better than the last batch that I had at the Colonial location. Nice amount of filling and made with lots of Crab, not Krab or cream cheese with scallions and water chestnuts. Dipping sauces were served on the side, plenty for my order. Dynamite shrimp were cooked well, good amount shrimp, veggies and of spicy sauce. Fluffy brown rice and the fresh lime wedge completed the well packed meal. No scallions, per request, I was happy. Food was prepared well, staff was friendly and quick. This is going to be a busy lunch time spot, I'd plan on arriving a bit before noon for you best chance at seating. read more

My wife and I were super excited to finally have a Pei Wei open that is closer than the one off of Colonial. We waited a few days after opening to ensure that some of the kinks would be worked out, and for the most part, it appears that they have been. This location is rather small, and visiting there during lunch, and then dinner on another night, both times we had to wait approximately 5 minutes to be seated. This was not a major inconvenience, just a surprise. The food was cooked well, although my wife's Pad Thai was a bit saucier than usual. The outside seating is nice, and the wait staff was very courteous throughout our visit, offering to refill drinks, get more napkins, etc. They were also very quick to clean off tables. The soda machines here are new to me, and provide a really neat way to mix different flavors. These machines are all touch screen, and they have a vast selection of coke and Dr. Pepper products to choose from, as well as flavored water. In the menus, you can select to flavor your coke with anything from orange and lime, to vanilla. Tons of possibilities here, it really was added value to the experience. I'm sure the overabundance in help will dwindle some, as several people there appeared to be district management types, but the service so far has been fantastic. read more

It's like a whole bunch of Asian flavors just mixed together and pared down so that nothing is very authentic or too pungently offensive. The dominate sauce flavors are really sweet with salty soy sauce undertones. I'm never sure if it's Chinese, Thai, or some other Asian flavor they are trying to replicate. We waited as order was being prepared and started receiving our food slowly and here and there.
