Great food, different flavor and style than other Chinese restaurants. Good service. Would like to see better prices.

Just had dinner tonight around 6:30, we had a large party of 9 of which I called earlier just to make sure we could get a table without a wait. We were sat immediately and our drink orders were taking shortly after. Took us a few minutes to figure out what to order and the waiter came over to take it. We ordered eight dishes all of which came out very hot and tasty. The portion sizes we're very good enough to feed all nine people and to take some of it home. The service was excellent our water was filled and our dishes were cleared as we ate them. It was a pretty busy night all the tables were full and it seemed to be a steady line of people taking to go. Everybody had a good time and will definitely be back read more

We have been to this restaurant dozen of times throughout its opening in altamonte and never thought to take pics and write review! But after many years of trying new places we return to familiar and consistent good food. The service was good and attentive. Our food runner and server were both good and polite. Great experience. The service was excellent, the servers were so nice and attentive, and the food came out really quickly. I like that it's not too loud inside, making it easy to have conversations at the table. The menu has a ton of options, so it was honestly hard to choose because everything sounded good. We ordered the salt and pepper eggplant, beef chow fun, and Singapore style rice noodles, and all three dishes were delicious. Saturday night at 7pm we were easily able to get a table for 4. By 8 the place was near full so take that into acct when planning your trip. Multiple servers were working the room helping out where needed. The ambiance is fine. Nothing amazing and my only dislike was how BRIGHTLY the plaza lights shine into the tables along the windows. When they came on I felt like I was in an interrogation room. Now to the food- I have been craving old school NY Chinese food and this is the closest I have come. We started with the egg rolls and calamari. I'm going to be honest the egg rolls were fine. Nothing amazing but decent. The calamari was meh. The coating was the same stuff you see on the little fried doughnuts you sometimes get at places like this. It was odd. It wasn't. Served with any kind of dipping sauce which may have helped the coating. The topping on it was good - fresh jalapeño, crispy garlic and red pepper. But over all it was a flop for us. For our entrees we had the Beef chow fun which was amazing! Beef was tender and flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I only wish there was some kind of veg in the dish. My husband had the everything fried rice and it was also delicious! We will absolutely be back to try more entree items!! read more

This place is so good. The food is fresh, not as greasy as your local Chinese spots. You can taste the freshness of the food here. It's served as family size portions. The service is quick and attentive, the waiters work the room, there's never a a conversation of "this is my table" they all help you. The space is a decent size and there can be a wait at times but at most I e waited 15mins. It's not noisy, it's a calm inviting atmosphere. Family friendly. Came here on a Saturday night with my husband. It wasn't too busy inside. There were tables available so we didn't have to wait. We did however wait a little while for our order to be taken. Eventually we had to ask for someone to come take our order. The food all came out hot and delicious. It was so flavorful and we got to have plenty of leftovers for the next day. This is definitely my go to chinese spot. I have tried about 15-20 dishes on their menu and everything has always been 5 stars. The wonton soup is the best in Orlando in my opinion. Dimsum is great and there are so many options to choose from. Service is super fast and always very kind. It can get busy fast so definitely get there early. First time here. Came on lunch with co-workers. The waitstaffs are nice and the foods are good with each dishes having distinct tastes. The duck skin was crispy and not salty or greasy. It's the first time I've seen Pekin Duck being served with gua bao instead of the wrap. The vegetables are all very fresh. There's little scallops in the seafood fried rice. Their hot tea are charged per person, $.99, but will be served in a tea pot. They definitely fill up for lunch rush. read more

Went with My daughter, son-in-law and their two young daughters. We ordered salt and pepper calamari, Hunan Beef, House Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun, and Shrimp and Scallops in Black Bean Sauce. All of the food was very good however, nothing stood out as being great Gotta come back for this dish. Everyone enjoyed the Salt and Papper Calamari. The Beef Chos Fun had a nice char taste to it with a rich sauce. The Shrimp and Scallops in Black Bean sauce had a preponderance of shiitake mushrooms that were very tasty; we managed to eat all of the shrimp and scallops and took home a large portion of the mushrooms. Would not object to going back again as it is close to my daughter's house, but then again there are other superior Chinese restaurants in Orlando, e.g. Taste of Chendu. read more

Yummy House is a local institution. We hadn't been there in years but we had family staying in Altamonte so chose it for dinner. It's not that we didn't like it in the past but we're just lazy about driving more than 10 minutes. Portions are generous, food is tasty. Classic Cantonese several steps above fast take out. Though our dinners came out sizzling hot and lightning fast The seafood pan fried noodles had lots of scallops, shrimp and some squid along with perfectly cooked baby bok Choy that was super tender and easy to eat. Just wish the noodles came out more crispy. Our less adventurous guests enjoyed their cashew chicken. Scanning a few tables near by we saw a huge chow fun which will be our next order. I wish I lived closer to Yummy House. If I did, I would be here all the time. The service is fantastic, and the food is always delicious. The salt and pepper tofu is a must every time. I also adore the snow pea tips with roasted garlic and vegetable lo mein. The ambiance is nice, and they have a lot of tables. I was with a large party during my last visit, and we were sat at a round table with a lazy susan built-in to pass food around. Everything was delicious and fresh. The turnip cake texture was so smooth and silky, not lumpy like others I've had. Food was mediocre. I was not blown away but I did enjoy a few things. Chicken feet lacks the black bean and umami flavor. They are fall of the home tender. Honeycomb tripe lacks flavor as well. They were also tender. The sesame chicken was very syrupy and inedible to it being so sweet. The chicken was battered and fried to a nice crunch but the syrup sauce made it inedible. The bistro lo mein was delicious. It had tender beef slices, chicken and shrimp. The baby shrimp were overcooked. It had broccoli, onions and snap peas as well; we finished the lo mein dish. Steam pork ribs lacked a lot of flavor. They weren't as tender as I've had at other places. The stuffed eggplant is delicious. It was stuffed with shrimp and had a nice sauce with it. Sui Mai didn't have much shrimp flavor, very pork forward. Sesame balls needed to be fried longer for the crispy outer texture. It was a ball of mush. Pan fried chive dumplings definitely needed to be fried longer. It was very soggy and falling apart; it also didn't have good flavor. Salt & pepper calamari has way too much batter and bland. Calamari was rubbery inside. Wrong type of batter for this dish. Ambiance is casual but nice. There's many tables. The to-go counter is right when you enter. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. Service was good. We don't have a set server, it appeared that everyone worked together there. Some food came out very quick while others took a while. We've been waiting to go back since they've added the Dim Sum menu. The dim sum came out after the other plate we requested from the regular menu. No Sim sum carts here so you order off the menu and the dim sum comes a bit haphazardly. The advantage of ordering off the menu and not the carts is that each small plate comes out piping hot. It was very good, a little too salty for me, but still delicious. They have dining available here too, the place is casual, but still pretty nice. I can be a bit of a germ of Phoebe and I do think they can do a little better in that area if you ask me. My family and I went to this spot to enjoy some dim sum and celebrate a birthday. If we had not already decided to get dim sum before going, I would have ordered straight off of the menu. They have a lot of Chinese dishes that sounded fantastic. The dim sum is ordered by menu (no carts here) and you select a number of plates. The menu indicates whether the dish is small or large. We were told it takes about 20 minutes for dim sum, but it was no where near that long of a wait. The salt and pepper calamari was fantastic and it came in a regular serving size. The batter outside was light and crispy and it was covered in delicious browned garlic, onions, and other greens. Our table enjoyed everything we tried, but there was a special shout out given to the steamed short ribs and the pork and shrimp dumplings. The only dish that was a little strange was the mango sticky rice. It was more like a jelly donut (mango instead of jelly) with mochi on the outside and covered in coconut. Same flavor profile but with completely different ingredients. We would probably pass on that the next time, but I'm glad we tried it. Overall, we had a lovely lunch. Originally I wanted to only give them 4 starts because they are a bit far from my house, but really, why should they be dinged because I live in the boondocks. I ordered the hot and sour shrimp soup, shrimp fried rice and Mongolian beef. It was a takeout order, but the food was prepared quickly and ready for pick up when I got there. When I got there, the person at the front was exceptionally patient with this couple in front of me. They were asking a ton of questions about the food. Another staff person did ask me if I needed help and I just told them I was waiting for my takeout order. It was nice they were aware of the backup. Now to the important part...the food. Sorry no pictures. As I mentioned it was take out and honestly it was so good I didn't even think about pictures till now. The food was so good and a ton of it. It's going to last me at least 4 - 6 meals. Not only was the quantity of the food plentiful, they did not skimp on the shrimp in either the hot and sour soup or the fried rice. I loved the large amount of tofu and mushrooms in the hot and sour soup. The Mongolian beef did not disappoint either. There was way more beef than onions. Most places put more onion than beef in theirs. All of the food was flavorful. If Yummy House wasn't so far away, I might eat there more often. Lucky for my waistline they are a bit of a drive. However, I am now happy that I have a go to place, and I can actually recommend a Chinese food place to people. read more

The staff was super friendly and we had wonderful service throughout our meal. The restaurant has a lot of seating available which is great for a Chinese restaurant. I got the Sesame Chicken and it was super fresh! It was hot and crispy with juicy chicken. The sauce is on the sweet side, but so good! It is made with honey and that flavor definitely comes through. We also got some Chicken Fried Rice and it was super tasty! Definitely recommend that dish as well! We really enjoyed our experience! WOWZA! This place is unique and incredible. I just recently went to 2 different dim sum restaurants in Philadelphia Chinatown and King of Prussia which were great, but Yummy House blows both of them out of the water! The Crystal Shrimp Hargow dumplings are the best I've ever had possibly, even better than Noodle Wong in Parsippany, New Jersey which I consider the gold standard. The prices are fair too. I only wish that they offered lunch specials on Saturdays. Most Chinese restaurants at least give you that option, but it's not a big deal when the quality is so high. The ambiance is alluring too with nice Ming based on the walls and exotic Chinese tea cup sets. Service is quick and efficient bringing out everything as it's made with a friendly welcoming smile. This place is one of my new favorite restaurants in Florida and some of the best dim sum in the country. read more

We subsequently ordered our entrees. Everything came out at once. It was all delicious so we didn't complain, but don't bring entrees when the soup just got served. I recommend not placing your entree orders until you are close to completing appetizers & soup. Be aware they charge $1 extra for a cup of white rice...it's annoying. I was craving sesame chicken and looked up Chinese restaurants in the area. I was impressed with the menu and saw pictures of the Salt and Pepper Eggplant and knew I had to try it! I haven't found a good sit down Chinese restaurant in a while, so when I saw how highly rated Yummy house was, I was excited! I got the salt and pepper eggplant appetizer, and it was excellent! It's definitely worth the hype! It was nice to have a sit down meal in a Chinese restaurant this was a bit more upscale than the take out spots. It reminded me of Jim-Bo that used to be in Winter Park. The service was good too. I remember the waiter being very friendly and making good recommendations! I'll be back! read more
