Chuan Fu is a recurring place for me. It has been very consistent with it's great food and overall experience. The service is very accommodating and let me sit outdoors this time. Even though I was outside, they were still very attentive and made sure we were taken cared of. This time I ordered the Szechuan dumplings and the sweet and sour pork. The dumplings were amazing. The pork inside was incredibly flavorful and perfect to eat as an appetizer. The pork was also great. The crunch was light and the taste was exactly as expected. Stopped by here as I was craving sichuan food. We ordered the classic mapo tofu, Dan Dan mian, and roasted duck. All 3 were delicious! My bf found the duck to be a bit dry, but I loved it as it wasn't too greasy or heavy. Dipped in the cumin spice mix it comes with makes for a delicious savory combination. The mapo tofu was also wonderful with ample pork to give the saltiness and the mala spice was perfectly balanced. I also liked the Dan Dan noodles but would've preferred a bit more pork and sauce. I generally eat at the strip mall Chinese fast food places, but sometimes I want to sit down and have a nice quality meal in a nice atmosphere with proper table service. I happened to find Chuan Fu as I was with my wife at her doctor and we were craving Chinese after her appointment. I found this place and decided to give it a try. We went for a late lunch; we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were greeted and seated with a smile. We were given menus and water, and we both requested tea; our server brought us each a pot. We perused the menu, and I ordered Hot & Sour Soup, which I always use as a reference on how the food will be. I ordered General Tao Chicken, and my wife had Beef with Hot Pepper. I was intrigued by the "Signature" Pork Fried Rice, so I ordered that as well. had me and was phenomenal! Off to a great start! Then the mains came, delicious and fresh! I did not like the food here. Many Chinese restaurants will marinate beef with baking soda to tenderize it, and it creates an almost velvety texture to the beef. However, the beef here was marinated with way too much baking soda. The beef felt too squishy and had no chew, and the texture was a bit nauseating. We stopped by Chuan Fu for an early, easy dinner around 5-ish, and the place was pretty empty when we arrived. By the time we were leaving, it was completely packed which says a lot. We ordered a TON of food to sample. 夫妻肺片 - Sliced Beef & Ox Tongue in Chili Sauce Yes, it literally translates to "Husband and Wife Lung Slices" (romantic, right?). But don't worry,it's beef tendon and tripe, not lungs. Cold, spicy, tangy, and salty. Basically Florida's answer to air conditioning in appetizer form, incredibly refreshing. Chili Oil Wontons (Michelin Bib Gourmand) These little pockets of joy lived up to the hype. Not too spicy, just the right numbing kick, with a vinegar tang that made me want to drink the sauce straight. Honestly, I'd swim in it. 水煮鱼片 - Fish Fillet in Spicy Broth Childhood comfort food unlocked. The white fish is so tender it basically melts, soaking up that hotpot-like broth. Spicy, flavorful, and a hug in a bowl, if hugs came with chili oil. Cabbage Tofu Soup Simple, light, and refreshing. The perfect palate cleanser after swimming through a sea of Szechuan oil. Stir-Fried Pork Chitterlings Don't let the name scare you, these are crunchy, chewy, spicy, and absolutely addictive. They managed to take out the "funk" and keep all the flavor. Probably my favorite bite of the night. My wife, who normally doesn't like chitterling dishes, actually enjoyed this. Crispy Duck Meal Here's where my taste buds split. The duck was well-cooked, crispy, and paired nicely with the sweet chili and pepper dips. But it leaned oily and a bit gamy for me. Not bad at all, just not my preference compared to the Cantonese roasted versions I usually prefer. Definitely encourage you to try it for yourself as this is another popular dish here. The Service Shout-out to our server, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and gave spot-on recommendations that made the meal even better. The food was amazing, but the service made the whole experience shine. The Price The dishes are definitely meant to be shared between 2-3 people but can still seem a little pricier than other Chinese places. I personally think it is totally worth it because of the quality and authenticity of the food. It's seriously hard to find authentic Szechuan dishes executed this well in Orlando so id gladly pay these prices. Final Verdict Other than the duck, every dish here was the best version I've had in Orlando. Solid 5/5 across the board, duck gets a respectful 3.5/5 but executed well with great technique. If you're like my wife and don't really eat much rice, some dishes might lean salty. Most Chinese food was made to be paired with rice to balance the saltiness, so just keep that in mind. My review is solely based upon our experience at the location as the atmosphere we were not prepared for. We had made a reservation for Wednesday night around 6:30 and when we arrived, the large main dining area was rented out to a group of 50+ people. While they had outdoor seating and a few tables in the back of the restaurant available, the noise from the group made it incredibly hard to have a conversation. Not to mention the group was using a microphone. They do have a pretty eclectic menu and our server was friendly, but was also catering to the larger group. We opted to do something that was a little bit more traditional so I got the Kung Po chicken and my friend got the fried noodles with chicken. Both meals were definitely large portions as we were both able to bring leftovers home. We did get the potstickers and really enjoyed those. They are filled with pork. There's a lot of construction going on in this area and the parking lot was really disorganized because of it. They are building a parking garage which hopefully will alleviate some of the parking challenges but definitely give yourself time if you have dinner reservations in this area as finding a parking spot can be a challenge as there are several other restaurants and a hotel that all share the same lot read more

Our party of four chose to stay on the mild side of the heat profile since we dined family style, and half of the group was unable to enjoy the spice. One appetizer I returned to for seconds and thirds - Sliced Beef & Ox Tongue with Chili Sauce - came in first for the spiciest and my favorite. The Cloud Ear Fungus definitely took first for most unusual for its texture although the flavor was mild. Sizzling Beef featured plenty of fresh, crisp veggies and nicely marinated, thin sliced beef. I'd really like to return to this dish with more heat. The other three dishes, Stir-Fried Pea Shoots with Garlic, Kung Pao Chicken, and Tofu with Crab Roe rounded out our meal as solid choices. Kung Pao chicken is good everywhere so it didn't stand out quite as much. We also got mixed veggies for the table which were helpful in terms of mixing the spicier food with. I had bookmarked Chuan Fu since they opened and couldn't wait to check it out for my birthday. After reading all the positive reviews and the recommendation from my fellow yelper friends I was pretty excited! To start we ordered potstickers and the highly recommended cucumber salad. Both were yummy and believe the reviews. We also tried different Sichuan style dishes and they were all very delicious. My personal favorite (not pictured) was the cumin beef. This dish was just everything - the flavor, the vegetables, everything was perfect. I also tried the Sichuan style beef tenderloin and it was equally good. One thing to keep in mind is that some of the dishes are mildly spicy. To finish, the restaurant gave me a birthday treat (chinese doughnuts) and it was good. Best fried rice? You're looking at it! This is the only restaurant in town serving cured pork fried rice. It's a simple looking dish, but that cured pork adds a bold, smoky flavor and aroma like no other. I've ordered this dish numerous times, and it's a dish I never get tired of. It pairs well with other dishes as well, one of my favorites being their stir-fried shredded pork with bamboo shoots. Salty, savory, and perfectly nuanced by bell peppers and bamboo shoots, I typically order this dish to go since the quality remains the same whether you eat on site or microwave it the next day. I also like to order their cold cut couple, which is a cold dish consisting of beef tender, beef tripe, and beef shank in chili oil, topped with cilantro and peanuts. If you want authentic Asian cuisine, then Chuan Fu probably fits the bill. Well, I'm assuming it's authentic but my comparison is the cheapo take-out joints all over town and places with "Yum" in their name. The Szechuan Spice is too legit to quit! It hammers your taste buds with that numbing feeling that will have you forgetting to pay your taxes. If you don't like spice, you can order it mild... but give it a try... just don't wear parachute pants if you can't handle it... You may be side steppin' to the bathroom! The Szeshuan Wontons are a must when they're on the menu, and these ones were pretty good. The spice was milder than some of the other spice I had here and at other places. I highly recommend trying a dozen of the pouches of joy! The Mala Hot Pot was impressive and way too much food for one person. A lot of it went to waste unfortunately as this was a lunch stop before shopping and I didn't want my new vehicle to smell like a dumpster behind Epcot's China Pavilion, so I passed on taking the rest to go. This Hot Pot was served on a fire plate (my name for it) that kept it bubbling hot for a bit. It was filled with a lot of breaded items, some shell on shrimp which was a bear to peel and eat, some chicken wings, intestines, fish, and a few thin slices of beef. For me, it would have worked better without any breaded items as they lost their crunch. The shrimp was overcooked too...the meat was stuck to the shells. But OMG the flavors! SOOOO good. I could just dip bread in that sauce. My mouth tingled for hours. The menu is extensive and has lots of pictures, which really makes it as tough as those shrimp to decide what to order. They had lots of soups and noodle dishes, some fried rice dishes, and lots of other stuff as well. I'll surely be back to give some other items a try. Service was a bit slow even though it wasn't super busy. A lot of the wait staff was standing around while ours was nowhere to be found. Love that Chuan Fu is providing good authentic Sichuan food to Orlando. The dishes are very flavorful, with just the right pop of heat from the chilies and the numbness from the peppercorns. Service is friendly, fast, and efficient. Ambiance is also beautiful and spacious. I do wish portion sizes were just a little larger. While a family of four will be satisfied, it would be nice with just a little bit more food rather than being almost done with the dishes just 30 minutes in. This restaurant has been open for over 2 years and have been featured on the Michelin guide 2 times. I made reservations via the Yelp app about an hour before. When my friends and I arrived we were seated in under 10 minutes. Just be mindful when you get here finding parking can take some time. They had some plush comfy leather seats. The lighting looked for modern. We ordered everything from the pork ribs, chili wontons, stir fried pea shoots, mapo tofu, multi flavored grilled fish, cumin beef and General Tso chicken. Everything is incredibly flavorful and fresh, and I'm so thankful they have la zi chicken, one of my absolute favorites. I've been craving Sichuan cuisine lately, so my husband & I like to order a few dishes to share and then enjoy them picnic-style on our living room floor. Sometimes that's what date night look like with a baby at home, haha. Some of our favorites are the Sichuan wontons (amazing!), dry fried green beans, Yang Chow fried rice (has shrimp), and the cucumber salad is a MUST. We recently tried the General Tao chicken for the first time which was also really tasty. We weren't big fans of the cumin beef. The cumin flavor was a little too overwhelming, so I wouldn't get that again but I want to try the sizzling beef next! Now I will say that since the portions are meant to be a bit larger for family style sharing, it's definitely reflected in the price. But even then, it gets very expensive because we can eat 4 dishes between the 2 of us. We ordered beef cumin, spicy wonton, garlic bok choy, their signature pork fried rice, egg rolls and orange chicken. The order was ready based on the time they provided. The restaurant has a pretty outside/ inside decor and a nice patio. The staff member at the front was courteous. For our meal the food looked inviting. Starting with the spicy wonton it was very spicy almost to the point of not fully enjoyable unless you ate it with the rice or something else to tone the spices down. I enjoy spicy food so it was a surprise it was almost too much for me. For rhe beef cumin the meat was tender and the veggies were cooked well and this tasted ok. The garlic bok choy was almost a little over cooked and needed a little salt. It did taste better the next day. Onto to the signature pork fried rice it was ok as well. This was our first experience at Chaan Fu and we reviewed the menu and found that it was necessary to request modifying some of their dishes for our dietary needs. Our server was Yara, who was very gracious and was very eager to hear what our dietary restrictions were and how to accommodate us with the dishes we were interested in. The food was absolutely wonderful, better than we could have hoped for, accommodated all our needs, and that is with thanks to our highly efficient server Yara, who made certain that we would be served exactly what we had hoped for.
