I had a big craving for egg foo young and Mei fun. I've never gotten Chinese food around my house and this was the closest one so I thought I'd give it a try. The food wasn't bad. The shrimp Mei fun was LOADED with onions. It was tasty but there were so many onions I had to pick most of them out. The flavor was very mild, not like other Mei funs I've had. The egg foo young was good, but was in desperate need of salt. Even after adding soy sauce, I had to add salt. But once I did, it was perfect. read more

Where do I start..... I have had my share of bad chainese food and this location is one of the worst..... I ordered a HOUSE FRID RICE, 2 pork egg rolls and what they advertise as House soup for 2????? (its just a large size soup not enough for 2 adults) .The location looks pretty rundown ,its very hot ( no A/C ) The so called house fried rice was a joke, it wasn't appealing to the eye and it fell very short of what the concept of house fried rice is. it was bland and I could count the ingredients .I did not come close to the definition of a House fried rice. I was slightly nervous to order from here since there weren't many reviews or photos compared to other nearby Chinese food places. I was pleasantly surprised at how great everything tasted!!! Has fancy plastic containers so the food didn't spill or leak on anything, plenty of sauces, fair size portions. The best was the fried food you could tell they clean out oil because it didn't have that gross taste/burnt coloring. The chicken was of better quality than other places I have been. read more

This place is well priced and the portions are generous. It is also close by which is a plus and the staff is friendly. For me it is the quality/consistency that is lacking. For instance, sometimes (regardless of the dish/style) the chicken is juicy and cooked perfectly and other times it is tough, dry and/or over fried. Will I still go here if craving some General Tso's Chicken or Hot & Sour Soup and don't want to drive far, yes! Is it the best in town, no but still hits the spot. read more

This is a great Chinese food place! It's an ordinary, classic takeout spot. I live 15 minutes away from here, and I gladly make the drive because the Chinese food near me is not up to par. This restaurant has great options which I feel are hard to come by. I usually order the shrimp egg foo young, sesame, chicken, wonton, soup, spring rolls, and chicken and broccoli. The sweet spot to ordering here on Sunday is to order before 6:30 PM. If not you'll wait over an hour for your food. read more

This is probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ate here a year ago & got food poisoning. Well today on Postmates I decided to order from a place called " Asian bento box" to which I thought was "Bento". When my food arrived in that corny "thank you" bag I knew it wasn't from bento. As I researched the address that was posted on postmates it was in fact China Wahon which I would have NEVER given my money to again unless I was TRICKED. For takeout, this place was surprisingly decent! We ordered veggie fried rice with no egg, General Tso's tofu, and Bean Curd Homestyle. The veggies were fresh and tender crisp, and the tofu was fried but not too greasy. We opted for carryout and had a pleasant experience overall. I will say, the food needed a few soy sauce packets and sriracha, so it isn't perfect; but China Wahon is a great option if you live nearby and are craving some cheap Chinese-American comfort food. read more

While I previously reviewed China Wahon as high as four stars, after several exceptionally bad recent experiences I felt compelled to reduce their rating to a generous one star. Whether new owners or a new supply vendor, something has gone terrible wrong over the past year with the quality of food at China Wahon. What was once a solid option for quick and reasonably priced chinese food in the winter park area, has quickly declined into "only visit if you must" type place. While I have never experienced rats or mice running wild, as commented by others, the inside is kept in below average conditions, but not much lower than what I have come across at other similar fast food chinese take out restaurants. Service has always been friendly, without any negative experiences to report in that area. China Wahon falls short in the most important category of a fast food restaurant, the FOOD. What was once really decent Chinese cuisine, has become a box of flavorless noodles and rice that appears to have been prepared in a microwave. Not only has the cuisine lacked any flavor in my past visits, the noodles seemed old and stale, possibly from the day before? The dumplings, usually my girlfriends favorite, were cold, seemed not thoroughly cooked, and just plain disgusting. One of the dishes included hair particles, forcing me to throw it away. The food is just not good, resembling something of ramen noodles. I am not sure what happened to one of my favorite fast chinese restaurants, but I sure hope they correct it quickly. Based on the number of other negative reviews in the past several months - year, I know I am not alone. At this point, I cannot recommend China Wahon, and would only suggest driving down howell branch or aloma for other options. read more

This had become my favorite Chinese place around, why? There food is fresh, made quick and there staff is real friendly, I have been here twice and both times I had a happy experience and stomach. They give you a lot of food for $8-9 buck so much I can only eat the meat and not get to the rice or egg roll included. You can call ahead of time and they would be very happy to take your order and since I live by i get there in no time and by the time I am there my order is ready. There prices are fair but not the cheapest also I have not been here during lunch to try there lunch specials but that is my next step to come here during lunch. Definitely try this place out, they are located in Maitland in the Publix plaza next to Orchids (laundry place) and they are open till 10pm almost every night. read more

I have lived in the Maitland area since 11/2020 and have seen this restaurant a few times and decided to opt out this past weekend I wasn't feeling well and need some take out, after I went to the pharmacy this restaurant was on my way home so I thought I would stop discriminating based on appearance and try them out... boy did I regret that choice the food was awful... I ordered a small sesame chicken which was not breaded... the sauce tasted like the sauce they give with the crab Rangoon mixed with gravy... gross... the crab rangoons tasted like they were fried that morning and reheated... the rice had no flavor whatsoever... so disappointing. I waited for my food so it wasn't like I left the food there for over a reasonable time and it cooled down... just overall not a great experience and will not be going back and they are a 4 min drive from my home. read more

Most NYC style Chinese food places are the same, so they aren't worth commenting on. I used to go to China Wah On a bunch when I lived in Maitland a decade ago. I went back today and the quality was terrible. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The rice was soggy like bad microwave instant rice. Visiting from Chicago, ordered online, showed up 40 minutes later, walked in, no one was there, only one takeout order prepared, lady looks at me and asks if I placed my order at the right place. She then proceeds to check the system and yup, I ordered but they didn't see the order. This was at 6:45pm with two 3yo twins and a 72yo cancer patient waiting for dinner. They didn't apologize to me or anything so I had to cancel my order, explain to the wife we didn't have anything to eat, and figure out plan B. All it would've taken was an apology and maybe offer me a drink while I waited, but nope, nothing. read more

I have to say this place is the only place I order Chinese Takeout from. I had one hiccup with an order and that was only 1 time out of 3 years of ordering and it was NOT the restaurants fault. Yelp/Eat24 did not send my order to them. I continue to use them as my #1 go to Chinese delivery and will continue till they decide to retire and close up shop. So...I cheated on my regular Chinese spot for China Wahon today. But I can explain. See, it was getting close to lunch time & my tummy was a rumblin'. I didn't have my car today & well...China Wahon delivers. I ordered the crab rangoon, chicken wings, & house rice (my standard order). My order came up to around $19.00, including the delivery fee which was a dollar & some change. While I was pretty disappointed with the crab rangoon, the fried chicken wings & rice weren't bad. I do like the fact that the rice was packed with chicken, shrimp, & pork. & not just a couple of shrimp like some other places. Considering the fact that I played the field out of necessity, it was worth it. read more

What can I say about this place? Bland fried rice. It's supposed to contain pork, but it is only sprinkled sparsely like bacon bits on a small baked potato. I ordered the hunan chicken. What do I get? 5 pieces of sliced chicken about 2in in length, the rest of the box is piled with giant pieces of broccoli and sparse pieces of baby corn, and watercress. The box is made to look like you're getting a lot but you really are not. there is no substance in the meals, and whats worse is that there is no taste. To top it off this place doesn't have air conditioning so if you're one of the poor saps that comes in during the lunch hour to get out of the blistering heat, you just get to sit there and make sweat stains while you eat. The place just wreaks of cheapness. Cheap prices shouldn't substitute taste nor quality. There are many cheap eats around that really know how to make food. I've never been more disappointed in chinese food. This has to be the worst I have ever tasted. So if you like bland chinese food, like to sweat your butt off, and sit around listening to loud chinese being yelled back and forth in the kitchen, this place is for you. read more

Wow, this was the worst Chinese food I've EVER had even by Florida standards. There was absolutely no flavor to anything I ordered. Ribs- tasteless, pork fried rice bland and no pork to be found, pork egg foo young- minus the pork. So awful. I know that it's extremely hard to find good Chinese restaurants in Florida but this one wins the 'worst' prize. I don't like trashing any establishment but- come on, some effort would be nice. I would not recommend this place. I ordered takeout during my lunch break and the food was ready quick and was very hot when I got it. However, the meat in the sesame chicken was basically inedible. It was very tough, chewy, and had a very weird flavor to the meat itself. The sauce wasn't too bad but it ended up being a wasted meal because of the meat. Would not recommend. read more
