No complaints at all! Our server, Daniel, was fantastic! He made us feel so comfortable during our tasting and even gave us a couple complimentary ones that they made. He answered all questions we had! All wines here were great, but their red-white blend mix (which is unusual for wines to be mixed) tasted fantastic despite the oddity of mixing wine! We stopped by because we read about their beautiful gardens--open to view without all the reservation hassle that a lot of wineries are doing. Stopped by and the guy inside was so accomodating and friendly we bought a bottle of muscat, just as a thank you. Grounds were amazing--a driveway lined with pollared trees, strung with lights. How in the world did they achieve this? Beautiful fountains and statues with gorgeous views of mustard fields in bloom. Everything so pretty. We would definitely come back. The Peju Winery is definitely a good spot to hit along the way on the highway. I saw that many proposals being located here and I can see why. Peju has a beautiful exterior that is so charming. Also, the inside has the entire process shown to you from the grape extraction to the wine barreling process that is pretty fantastic to educate people. TASTING: The tasting itself was fantastic as Napa must compete with. Although on the pricier end ($35), Peju has great reserve wines compared to some of the other ones in the area. I will say that Peju's wine is one of the better ones that I have had in Napa Valley. Each wine is explained perfectly and definitely has an amazing taste. They can give great recommendations on other wineries as well, but alas, Peju has my heart and almost got me to sign up for a membership. Located conveniently on the highway this is a great spot to check out. All of the wines are amazing and the wine maker was voted "Wine Maker of the Year". They have two delicious Cab Franc's in their reserve tasting, a rarer wine to find in the valley. The cheese plate was one of the best I have seen and included a few unique items. This stop was recommended to us from a few people. My learning, not to trust their reco. It was fine. The wine was drinkable, but not delicious. Especially for the price of $35 (we actually usually pay more for tastings.) The guy behind the counter seemed annoyed by questions. My mom is in a walking boot and when I asked for a chair for her to sit in, they did put one in the tasting bar for her. However, we had a 15 min wait until we got back there so she had to sit on the stairs. With tons of amazing wine stops in this area, I would pass on Peju. read more

After a few minutes I felt worse and started to black out and asked to lay down on the floor (ideal, I know). I've been wanting to visit here for 1yr now since I started visiting Napa. However, I've always visited with a large group & was told this destination isn't good for large groups. This time it was a friend & I so we took the opportunity to check this off our list. Upon my arrival the grounds captured my attention; very serene and beautiful. Sculptures, floral, waterfalls, & areas to set-up for a sweet picnic. Additionally, I loved the fact that they're a dog friendly winery! Hence my 3 star rating. As you walk in there's a small shopping/waiting area & you are informed that they only allow tastings inside & don't offer single wine serving inside; which was very disappointing. Also, they were only offering certain wines that they picked that day. I decided to just try it & needless to say, my tasting experience wasn't enjoyable at all. The wine bar area was hot & was already full before the group I was added to join; then I was stuck in the back corner. The Sommelier was sweet but you could tell she was overwhelmed & the group that was there before kept consuming her time. Therefore, my group waited a long time before each tasting & felt overlooked. The wine wasn't very pleasing to my palate, therefore I didn't finish my full tasting & asked to close out. Definitely glad I had the opportunity to check this place out but will not be returning. read more

Note we are wine club members so I am biased. This is a gem of a winery we have been coming here for 5 years now. In recent years it seems to have gotten more popular and it is reflected in the price increases and increased difficulty in obtaining a tasting. The Province wine we have been drinking for years, it is a red white blend that is smooth and goes great with almost anything. Their Rose is also quite good. If you favor more bold wines their reserve wines especially the cabernet reserve is really good, a slightly more expensive bottle. If you want to try them get a wine club member to take you the reserve tasting for $20 ;) read more

Peju has been a group favorite for over 7 years and running. Napa trips continue to include peju as a highlight. The tasting experience is always friendly with fantastic treatment, although it has turned a bit more corporate in recent years (although everyone has). Walking into a beautiful area up to the tasting room...there is a sculpture with great background for pictures here with the swaying trees in the background...the wine tasting is nicely set up standing at the bar with a group usually with normal pours. There is a regular pour and reserved pour...the reserve just much easier to drink but the regular cab actually has pretty good taste!! Overall very pleasant and very good but compared to some other spots now sure if it's quite on par...I mean it's definitely good but could not give 5 stars for sure...3.5 stars in all honesty in terms of wine and 4-5 stars for the environemnt!! read more

My boyfriend and I came here, excited to try a new winery. We parked and found an entrance off the side parking lot. After not being helped for 15 minutes, my boyfriend asked a worker where we should go. Not only did he lecture us for going through the side entrance (which had a large welcome mat and an open door, and appeared to be an allowable entrance), he told us to wait at the front for half an hour. Mind you, there were vacant tasting tables. We have been extremely fortunate to visit wonderful tasting rooms the past couple days. When we return home, we will have many recommendations, and this will absolutely not be one of them. read more

They rush you out when you finish your purchase; say they are a green company and will email you a copy of your credit card bill. Charge you additional items and then you don't get a copy because they did not care to enter your email correctly ...all garbled@yahoo. Luckily my math told me they were overcharging and I went back and asked them to pull my transaction..and there was a $45 extra charge. Spoiled the taste of the otherwise good wine I had. They fixed it eventually. But don't pretend courteousness and then at blink of an eyelid do hustle and stuff like that. For now I will assume it was a mistake and not intentional. This place is stingy on their tasting pours. If your going to be stingy then put on those measured pour spots. Seems to be a common theme in Napa though. The more high end the winery is perceived the less interested they are in making your visit memorable and the smaller the pour. The server was non informational. Seems like he has been serving stingy pours day in and day out for a while and no longer cares. FYI: The wines served during the tasting were on the dry side. $45 gets you a little over half a glass of wine with these stingy pours. (That is all the tastings combined amount to half a glass). read more

Experience Saturday, June 1, 2019 Although the site is pretty with its interesting scultures and garden gates, our group's pouring wine host upstairs left us with a bad note. Basically, if you are not a member already, you are nothing to them. We were lead to the upstairs tasting room section: my 4 person party and a wine member couple. Once near the bar, the tasting host quickly greeted the Peju-member couple with a warm welcome and hand shake. We were given a faint hello and conversation mainly directed towards the couple. Once the 6 person group settled in front of the glass placement ready to begin, another member couple was added into the already snug group. The bar host then asked us to move down the bar to make room. After another big greeting of this 2nd couple, he continued to provide our group no attention. He followed by a brief history of winemakers and then asked which tasting we would be interested in. Our group felt the troublesome experience and decided it was not a good fit. I let him know we were going to pass and that we decided not to partake afterall. He had a huge smile and gave a shoosh with both hands. Yup! He did! But we didn't waste any more time in sticking around to see a manager or go off the older man. When you are not wanted, you just walk away and don't waste your money. It happened to be a beautiful day in Napa and still early enough to go to another winery to spend our day in. read more

Went to the winery today and waiter at the bar gave such a bad and extremely RUDE service. Asked the waiter how much need to purchase to waive the tasting the fee. He responded it depends. So decided to purchased one bottle that cost more than $100, and then noticed the tasting fee wasn't waived. Explained to the waiter if that was the case, wouldn't be purchasing this bottle. The waiter said that 6 bottles needed to be purchased to waive the tasting fee. My friend explained that wasn't the policy last time he visited. The waiter responded "that is bullshit. If you visited the winery 10 years ago, why are you bringing things from 10 years ago?!" Called the manager, didn't do anything about it, and explained to me that the waiter had a bad day today, so forth he was in a bad mood. WTF?! So your employee had a bad day, and not explaining things right to the customer and being rude and unprofessional. Additionally, the manager stood on the waiter's side and explained he had a bad day? Both of them handled the situation unprofessionally, and the waiter was being especially rude. Telling the customer what the customer said was bullshit was first time to be experienced. Want the owner of the winery to know about this and do something about it, don't want other customers to have a bad day because of these two unprofessional unfriendly employees! I won't visit the winery, as you know one thing that Napa doesn't lack is wineries. Definitely don't recommend the place. read more

Tasting fee is too expensive. Classic tasting is $40 (for 5 wines, most of them are quite low priced wines except one which is $55). Reserve wine tasting is $75 (for 5 reserve wines). It tastes ok but too pricy comparing to other competitive wineries in NAPA. The building and garden looks ok but not very special. Caymus winery has better atmosphere and offers Riedel wine glass with $50 tasting fee (including water bottles). read more

What a fun Sunday afternoon. This was my first time at this winery however my friends have been here before and enjoy a few different selections of wine. The landscape is pretty and staff member during check in was quick to set us up. We went upstairs and completed our tasting with Arthur. He was great! There is 4 people in our group and he had 2 additional parties but he interacted with everyone, shared information on each wine and someone in our party joined the wine club. So disappointed we get referred here they tell us this closes at 6 pm when we get here at 5:15 Debbie tells us they close at 6 but they no longer serve a wine tasting. Then she recommends Mexican food to us mind you we are not Mexican or asked for Mexican recommendations but she assumed that's what we would like. I am so disappointed with this place, we bought a bottle because we wanted some cab that they recommended but the service was awful. The wines are very good, the property is beautiful and they have a good store! I've been here twice on different occasions and in all my wine tasting trips, this was perhaps one of the top five and it was mainly because of the wine host. They make the 'experience' and ours was phenomenal because of the wine host named Richard Cooksey. Do yourselves a favor, if you go here, either make an appointment with him or ask for him when you put your name in. He knows the wine very well and explains the details you can't read on the wine label, which I appreciate. I bought several bottles of wine and the 'cork pops' wine opener, which Richard will demo for you. I used it last night and I think it was the easiest to use once you get the hang of it. The wines I bought were the province (red and white blend), Syrah, cab, Zin and piccolo. I also joined the wine club since I only come to Napa a couple times a year and haven't seen Peju in a store or restaurant. Definitely go and have a wonderful experience! I have been to Peju a few times while visiting the area. I am overall a fan. The folks that work here are really nice and knowledgeable. The day we went there were not a lot of people there since it was midweek. So we had an immediate tasting with a few extra pours. The tasting price for the wine was a little high. I bought two bottles of their wine at the end and sometimes wineries comp one of the tastings when you buy a few bottles but no such luck. The wine is amazing overall. The Province is my favorite. The grounds are pretty. The inside could use a little updating. I love the stained glass but the carpeting, rest rooms, etc felt very dated. I like Peju overall. And they almost earned 5 stars if the above few things didn't detract from the overall experience. read more
