Our office ordered takeout today. Pad Thai with chicken, sweet & sour chicken, drunken noodles and calamari pa prik were the main dishes. Pot stickers and lettuce wraps were our appetizers. Everything was very good. I ate the calamari. Nice and tender with broccoli, zucchini, onions, nappa cabbage and green pepper. The dishes came came with crispy spring rolls. The lunch prices were around $6.50 for chicken or pork and $1.00 more for beef or shrimp. All in all a very pleasant experience. They got our order correct and didn't short us any items. They have TV's that was nice, compared to the outside it seems it would be bigger inside. I ordered Wonton soup knowing it would be empty of all the veggies that normally go there and true enough it came with just the Wontons and some green onions, however the Wontons were very decent and the broth was good but no salt in it. Very impressed with this place. I have been searching for a place since my go-to place Dragon Palace closed a few years ago. Service was friendly and professional, with quick drink refills. I ordered the General Tso Chicken, very tender chunks of chicken, fried to a golden brown, not greasy or soggy. The suace was excellent and reminded me of Dragon Palace. We ordered the spring rolls and a pork egg roll, both excellent and they come with some dipping sauces, hot mustard and plum sauce. Wife had the Sesame Chicken and was also very pleased with her entree. we will surely be back to try some other dishes. read more

I needed a sushi fix. But where to go? We decided upon Pekin Tokyo because I pass it often and my fellow Yelpers seem to enjoy it. Sushi in Allen Park? Absolutely. We had three rolls (Romantic, Out of Control and one I cannot remember but had spicy tuna on the inside and spicy crab on the outside). I also had the ginger salad (lettuce very crisp and the dressing was good but not the bright orange I am used to) and my companion the miso soup (which she said was just average). The sushi was excellent, served efficiently and presented well. Everything was fresh with a nice level of spice. I particularly enjoyed the red colored soy paper used to wrap the Romantic roll and the spicy tuna. The portion was ample. In all, an excellent experience. Not as good as my favorite Aki in Ypsilanti but a solid choice downriver. read more

Maybe they were having a bad day, but the hostess was unbelievably terrible. She didn't great us, stood there doing some other task while we looked at her. I finally had to ask, do we seat ourselves? She said no and told us to wait.....finally left her podium to get menus and reluctantly led us to a table where she sullenly threw the menus down (I'm not joking, she literally threw them) and stalked off. Now for the food. It wasn't very good. I got the bento box with generals chicken, shrimp tempura roll, fried rice and spring roll. I couldn't eat the chicken, it tasted old and was lukewarm. The sauce was waaayyyy too sweet. The shrimp roll was ok, but again the sauce they liberally used on it was way too sweet. The spring roll was good, the fried rice was good. I used the restroom before we left and the soap dispenser was empty I informed the lovely hostess and she honestly could not have cared any less. She mumbled that there was a freestanding bottle of hand soap in there, but I'm here to tell ya, nope! So that means no female worker in that restaurant is washing their hands folks. Tried this spot for the first time today. Ordered ribeye fried rice (medium) and the ribeye was so small, there were maybe 6 small pieces cut up on top of the rice and it was chewy and tough. Ordered a bento box with sesame chicken, fried rice, crab rangoon, and an avocado roll. The crab Rangoon tasted like mayonnaise to me which was really weird and had a strong onion flavor as well. The sesame chicken was good but the pieces were so huge (this is just a personal preference), and I'm not a big fan of that. I actually like sushi, even sushi with fish, but I opted for an avocado roll and the fish smell was so pungent- I have never even had fish sushi that smelled so strong. I couldn't eat it, it went straight to the trash. The only thing saving this place was that the rice was pretty good. They forgot my ginger salad entirely. Great addition to the restaurant selection downriver! Everything tasted extremely good and fresh. There are some opening week bugs but they did not affect the food quality. The waitress was confused when we asked for a sushi order sheet and we received some hand rolls instead of norimaki. I heard they do not have Korean dishes yet, maybe they are waiting for stone bowls to come in. Also there is a sign offering free tea- my wife's ice tea was free but I was charged for my hot tea. Fortunately we got 10% off our bill because it was their first week open! We started with edamame and they gave us free crispy noodles. They didn't have a bowl for the empty pods but they brought out a wicker basket later... The handrolls were fresh and bursting with avocado or salmon. My brother liked his hibachi chicken which came with veggies, fried rice and a nice shrimp spring roll to start. I ordered the bento box which is the best deal on the menu. You choose one of ten entrees, one of six $5 rolls, one of four sides and white or fried rice. The bang bang shrimp was tasty but weirdly creamy and not spicy enough. I am a Sushi rookie. I ordered Crunch roll at lunch with hot & sour soup. After I ate I was still hungry. I wasn't at all satisfied. This says more about me than the restaurant. I returned last night to order the Korean Bibmbapbop (sp) cuz it sounded interesting. No Korean food for 2 more weeks. I reloaded and ordered a bento box. It reminded me of a tv dinner. By far THE BEST COVID measures I have EVER seen. For pick up they have engineered self made boxes and baby monitors to hear through the walls and deliver your food safely. It's fantastic. I just really like this location for restaurants. I don't think there has ever been a business I didn't like here. Pekin Tokyo is very good! My husband is not a big fan of Chinese yet I am so this place is great for us. He can have sushi or thai while I enjoy general tso or sesame chicken. The food was amazing. Top of the line asian dishes. The service could be improved, but they're fairly new. Honestly people need to be happy that a restaurant like this is even available in the area. I have put Pekin Tokyo on a pedestal in the past. I love the Bento Box. It's fantastic because you get your main entree, a side of rice, your choice between fried or white, an egg roll of your choice and a appetizer I always chose crab Rangoon. I adore this place I recommended it to friends and I frequent here often. Prior to about a month ago I would have gave five stars. However just as my luck goes, I brag so much and dragged my husband here against his will and without fail they disappointed me. They made a liar out of me! The service was bad, the food took forever, and it came out cold! I don't know if it was an off day, or perhaps they have a new cook. It was a Friday they were packed but I lost my restaurant choosing credibility that day! That always happens to me. The stir fried rice is tasty and they always give you HUGE portions (enough for 3 people) The service is always quick. I highly recommend this place for a lunch/dinner spot. Nicely decorated, pleasant staff, quick take out. I had the Pad Se Ew. Normally I like mine more on the sweeter side with the wide noodles, like from Coastal Thai. However unlike most other places it wasn't washed out in a salty mess of soy sauce, it had a unique and pleasant taste. A good combination of spice and sweet. I mostly eat generals chicken at pretty much every Chinese place I go, here it particularly good. They also have a generals chicken and shrimp which is a hat I got the first couple times.
