I miss this place! I used to go here all the time during my college years. It's just your standard reliable go-to Chinese takeout joint. And they have indoor dining as well. They've been here for decades, and even persevered through COVID. They'll be here forever! I usually get the lunch special with General Tso Chicken. It's got a nice crunchy exterior with a juicy interior. And the sauce is awesome. It comes with a flavorful fried rice and a drink. My wife got the Mongolian beef but she felt it was too spicy, there wasn't much beef in it, mostly onions, and the beef wasn't that great. Next time she'll get the Singapore Noodle. This place delivered as I hoped: a quick, tasty, cheap bite. Their lunch special applies to Saturday which is great. We ordered to eat in, and the food came quickly. I got the chicken and broccoli which came with carrots as well and a big helping of fried rice. Plus, it came with a free can of soda. I'm sure most of their business is takeout/delivery, but we ate in, and the space was nice and clean, and the employees were friendly. It made for a great lunch option, so I recommend it. read more

Ordered online. Received a confirmation that my order would be delivered "as soon as possible." One hour and fifteen minutes later I called. The person answering said she didn't know but the manager would call me "in a few minutes." Twenty minutes later I called again, but received a recorded message saying the "were too busy getting orders out to answer the phone; call back in a few minutes." Peking Chinese was a perfect place to get in that cheap, large-portioned Chinese food craving. It's located right off of North Avenue and very easily accessible. We called and placed an order for takeout and it was ready in 10 minutes. The online menu was very extensive, but seems like ordering over the phone is the easiest option. We ordered the Mongolian Chicken and the General Tso's Chicken house specials - which each included an egg roll and soup (we both chose Hot and Sour). We also got an appetizer of Crab Rangoon's. It was a great amount of food for only about $35, with enough for left over's for lunch. Takeout was packaged nicely in plastic meal-prep containers and had very large portion sizes. It was very classic Chinese food - the rice portion of the dish was amazing and full of vegetables and onions which was a very highly appreciated addition. The crab rangoon's were a great mix of cream cheese and crab flavor. I wouldn't necessarily recommend dining in, but the takeout option is great for that classic Chinese craving. read more

Not exactly world-beating cuisine, but when you need quality takeout on a weeknight at a decent price, this place really is really the best in this part of the city. Delivery always arrives quickly, too! Favorites include mu shu pork, general Tso's chicken, and Mongolian beef. Finally, I can stop being disappointed every time order Chinese takeout!! What I had: the hot and sour soup (so spicy, so good!) orange chicken, and veg lo mein (perfectly greasy-but-not-soggy and actually cooked in the right amount of soy sauce). Placed three orders, all loaded with at least one whole onion each. Spent $40.00 completely disappointed in all 3. Called and spoke to manager and asked for credit of some kind. Said there was nothing he could do and that is how they cook their food. If I wanted to eat onions for dinner, I would've cooked a whole onion. Two people who I bought food for had to pick out all onions there were so many. The lady was very nice, but the manager would not budge. Worst Customer Service, I have ever experienced when a manager will not do anything to rectify a situation for an unhappy Customer. They need to not cheat people by filling container with onions as a filler under the food, and then on top of the food that was ordered to fill the container. I would not recommend this place. We ordered delivery from here after the Lolla fiasco where Muse got canceled and we were soaked and hungry after wandering the streets for over an hour looking for a cab. Delivery: FAST.
