Come here often for their lunch specials as it is close to work. One of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in Ventura. The food is consistently good. Everything is flavorful without the greasiness. I like that they don't over season or drown their food in sauce so it seems healthier too. Welcoming staff and attentive service. They serve dim sum on the weekends so will have to come back to try that.

I loved this place the first time we ate there, so we decided to come here again while passing thru Ventura this past Sunday. My favorite thing here are the vegetable egg rolls that were included in the assorted appetizer plate we ordered. The sweet and sour spareribs were a little chewier and tough this time around - so if you have a tough time chewing, you might want to order something else. (The ribs are very delicious otherwise.) The wonton soup is good, but the broth was like soy sauce and water and needed a little more meaty broth flavor. The staff were very friendly, but one of the things I notice most at any restaurant is when staff members are standing around but the floors have trash or food crumbs that could be easily swept. They also seemed be a little overstaffed that night; however, it's better that they had excellent customer service versus bad. I definitely recommend this place, love the food and hope my comments help management improve for future visits.

Looking for a great Chinese restaurant? Look no further. This food place is my go to place in this area. The staff is super friendly and fast. The food here just tastes so good. The plus is that besides main Chinese dishes, they also serve dim sum. My go to are the xia long bao, pan fried noodles, fried tofu, and any of the soup. The ambiance is casual, but enough for a date, family gathering, and friend lunch date. The seating is all inside. Don't be afraid to bring a big group, they have tables that can sit 8. They also do takeout and are great about any food allergies. Parking is in a plaza, so plenty to go around.

Service is outstanding. Shout out to the bus boy! His name is Lennon. I am dehydrated after traveling across the country. Lennon said, I've got your back. He showed up every time my drink was getting low. He is a keeper. We ordered the lunch deal. We started out with the egg flower soup. It was better than most places. It is a thicker consistency that we love. Hubby loved the salad. He said it is perfect. Lettuce & carrots are fresh. The crunchy wonton strips were yummy. We both loved the Kung pao chicken. Great spice, flavor, and peanuts. The chicken was tender. We thought that the orange chicken was just ok. We felt the same about the fried rice. We will be returning customers. I hope that Lennon is working when we come back.

3.5 overall but rounding up . I ordered the Mongolian Beef . Service was good and we were checked on often ! Clean restaurant. Not super busy during lunch but there was a crowd. I would back to try more items!

Paper wrapped chicken (steamed) with duck sauce and spicy mustard! Yum!!

Drove into town from the dessert this evening and wanted Chinese. Checked out a few reviews and only 2 places popped up that had at least 4 stars. After looking at menus and comparing we decided on Peking. Sure glad we did too! I have to say if you are ever in Ventura please give this place a try! First thing I noticed is this place is simple yet has a quality about it. I would bring a date here, rather maybe a second or third date. It's nice inside. Wait staff was amazing. Now to the good stuff! I ordered chicken chow fun and partner had Mushu pork and for the appetizer we ordered the paper wrapped chicken. The chicken hit the table first wrapped in tin foil. That didn't deter us at all. This was served with duck sauce and spicy mustard. The mustard was amazing but i love spice! Both were good but the mustard opened up my nasal passages and made me go wow!! Awesome! The two main dishes hit the table and we dug in. Both were great! Let me tell you how hard it is to find a good Chinese place that isn't swimming in soy and oil! This place seasoned correctly and was not greasy at all!! I will tell you this; if you like fast Chinese food like Panda Express and that is what you think of Chinese food then stay there. Here you'll get properly seasoned fair. Over all I recommend and when back in Ventura will visit again for sure! The pictures don't do this place justice.

My friend and I tried this spot for lunch and were immediately impressed. I've been eyeing this spot for years but it's just a little far from me so that's the only reason I hadn't ventured in here sooner. We came for the lunch specials and left knowing we had found a great new Chinese spot. The restaurant is so much cuter than I would have ever known from the exterior. Walking inside it was cozy and more dimly lit which I love as it sets the vibe for a comfortable meal. They had plenty of large tables to accommodate big groups but I was happy we got a comfortable booth for two. The decor was traditional yet warm and inviting. I also liked that from where I sat I had a good view of the kitchen, the kitchen looked super clean and organized in the back. Can't say I've always felt this way at traditional mom and pop restaurants. Here it's very clean and sanitary which is so important! The staff were genuinely all super friendly. We felt welcome from the moment we walked in, throughout our meal, and when we left. We were seated right away at lunch rush and we were taken very good care of. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. I like that all of the staff here help each other out as our waters always remained filled and one of the gals checked up on us at the end to see how we enjoyed our meal, giving us recommendations for next time. Lovely service. The food overall was very very good. I enjoyed my meal a lot. The starter egg drop soup and salad that come with the lunch special was so fire. Love me some good egg drop soup. I ordered the peppered shrimp for my main. It was cooked perfectly and had a crispy peppery batter, it was phenomenal. Normally I like an overly sauced dish but this was so good. Definitely would recommend if you don't mind some peppery flavors. My friend and I split the har gow dumplings and the flavors were delicious. At first I was worried as the wrapper was sticky and hard to get out of the little pot but flavor wise it was as good as I could have hoped for. Their chili oil here is also really tasty. My meal here was a 4.5/5. Wonderful! Pricing is very reasonable. For lunch special and splitting dumplings the bill was about $20 each before tip. Pretty good price for lunch if I say so myself. This place hit all of the marks, cute restaurant, reasonable prices, tasty food, and super kind service. I'll definitely be back now that this spot is on my radar.

We just moved from Camarillo to Ventura, and since this place is close to us, we had to give it a try and wow, we're so glad we did! The service was amazing our server was super friendly, on top of everything, and really attentive. The hot & sour and egg drop soups were both sooo good My husband ordered the Mongolian beef and absolutely loved it! I got the honey walnut shrimp, which I'd rate about a 7.5/10 still tasty, and I have a feeling a lot of their dishes are going to be delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more, especially with how great the reviews are!

Solid place for a variety of Chinese food flavors and dishes; came here twice in a week, preferred their EZ takeout ordering online, then pick up to eat at home. Good quality and wide menu for meats, seafood, veggies, noodle and rice dishes, appetizers plus dim sum (on wkends). Casual ambience, friendly service (efficient but slower) and moderate pricing. Overall 3.5+ rating for good eats. Expect to pay $13-15pp for lunch specials, or $15-25pp for dinner. Indoor dining has 15-20 booths/tables, so if busy mealtime hours, there may be a wait. Today we tried a few Dim Sum dishes to start - our fave was the steamed pork soup dumplings, tasty! Also a big fan of their Mu Shu Pork ... meat, veggies and egg stir-fried then wrapped in warm pancake wrapper served with Hoisin sauce - delicious! Can't find this dish very often, so i enjoyed it both times ordering food here. Plenty to choose from on the menu, and they also have luncheon specials that come with soup/salad/app during afternoon hours. Decent spot if you're craving some Chinese food, and not looking for a fast food restaurant. Enjoy!!

Came here for a date night on the weekend and what a treat it was! Employees were knowledgable, timely, and friendly. The restaurant is clean and well-decorated. Food was wonderful, everything tasted delicious and fresh. We ordered several dishes and enjoyed each one of them. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in search of tasty Chinese food in the 805. Tips: -Peking duck on the menu notes that there is a two hour ahead notice required. -We did have to ask for the dim sum menu specifically, it is separate from the main menu.

Nice, quiet restaurant with friendly and attentive service for a late lunch on a Sunday. Had the west lake beef soup and it was light and delicious. Enjoyed the sizzling seafood although it didn't have squid, just fish fillet and shrimp. Chinese broccoli with black mushroom was tasty and the only dish we weren't crazy of was the imperial shrimp, had I known it was breaded and fried, we would've never ordered it. Loved the fried rice. It was a very satisfying late lunch.

Clean, traditional, & well maintained restaurant. We opted to try their bao as requested. While I didn't get much soul in the bao itself, they gave a bowl which looks to be like juice to top it. It was flavorful and not dry. The wonton also had a surprisingly burst of sweet and savory but no where near spicy despite the chili flakes. The crispy noodles were good. As it was thinner noodles, the gravy sauce drenched also soften it up making it a different texture that you expect from this dish. Service was great! Quick and attentive to not just our food but water too! We grabbed boba prior so this was just a snack meal for our party!

Peking restaurant is a hidden gem! Amazing lunch specials (tues-sat!!), very cozy interior with booth seating, and great service. We came by for lunch Saturday around 1ish and ordered the kung pao chicken, honey walnut shrimp, and orange chicken lunch special. Each lunch special is served with a salad with a creamy dressing, your choice of egg drop soup or hot and sour soup, and steamed or fried rice. It was a great deal and so filling. I enjoyed every dish and will order the kung pao chicken medium spicy next time! We ordered mild and felt like it could use a little bit more kick.

There were a couple couples that look like they're on dates. Service is really good here. And we ordered all the food we wanted to try. It seems like they tried to limit the chances of the cyclospora parasite since no one has a definite source yet (Mongolian beef usually has raw green onions but they subbed wok fired yellow onions). But some stuff they kept the cilantro and green onions (bc they were cold dishes) The pan fried dumpling would have been good if it didn't have so much Ginger.. I'm not too into Ginger but the dumpling was nice because it had the juice inside of it and the texture was nice The refreshing woodear is a cold dish that has a chewy/crunchy texture. The soy sauce/vinegar flavor makes it refreshing when the other foods get heavy. Spicy beef slices were not that bad, but I prefer more of the spicy szechuan flavor (numbing/tingly feeling). The cilantro and green onions also provided good flavor The beef and onion pancake reminded me of mushu beef, it had the same wrap, hoision sauce flavor with meat and veggies-green onions. It also had good amount of meat Hunan beef was ok but wife enjoyed it. Wife's cooking prepared me for the peppers...is it a jalapeno or a green pepper...Russian roulette if you can't handle spicy. The Mongolian beef had reg onions instead of the green onions. Lots of onions..but I can't be mad bc the onions had the wok fire flavor, which I enjoy and not many places do it. The spicy eggplant with hot garlic sauce had lots of woodears, the eggplant was a little more on the sweet side, and the eggplant had a little bit of a crispyness to it. The salt and pepper shrimp almost reminded me of fried cake batter. It had some sweetness to it so it confused me cuz I was expecting something savory. At the end of the meal we had our fortune cookie, which seemed like it was more of an ad than a fortune.. sneaky Fortune Cookie company. Overall this place was pretty good and worth trying, especially since they have great service

The dinner combos are a great deal and all the side dishes were great - the egg roll was crispy and fresh, the shrimp was delicious, and the fried rice was well-seasoned, fluffy, and moist. The entrees were truly the star of the show. We got Ma Po tofu (traditional style) and dry wok veggie-chicken. The tofu was soft and creamy and the Ma Po sauce provided the sichuan numbing we've been searching for in Southern California. The dry wok was deeply flavorful. The veggie chicken was moist and savory and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. the ambiance - China kitchen was well decorated and elegant.
