I dont go to buffets often because the quality of the food is one of the biggest factors with these places. Although, there are exceptions and they are few and far between. Today we decided to try this place. It was terrible. The food tasted lazily made. The string beans were sitting a puddle, the spare ribs were in a puddle, the black pepper chicken was not crispy, the water tasted like faucet water... just all around very lazy, poor quality cooking. Once again, I'm drawn in to a Chinese buffet on my travels. This time for a late lunch. I found a good selection of Americanized Chinese dishes - beef and broccoli, Tsao's chicken, lo mein, wonton soup - and a number of very American dishes for those who won't eat the above, like pizza and Texas toast and onion rings. I managed to put together two plates of mostly proteins that were light on sauces. Not keto but at least oriented towards avoiding carbs. Service was good. I've come here many of times over the years with family or friends! The food and atmosphere is good enough to keep coming back when in the area! Of course some things are lackluster, I'm an avid sushi fan, but I'm not very into the spread they normally have. The rice is always hard, and well...it's a Chinese buffet, if you're even willing to take a risk on the sushi, it's very similar to that of a grocery store. The customer service is always rather pleasant. if you come when they first open, the food is always hot, and pretty tasty too. They have savory classic crab Rangoons, their sauced chicken (I.e general tsos and coconut chicken) were crispy and flavorful. Then to finish your endless plates of food off with, they have a rather delightful selection of fruits, puddings, and self & soft-served ice cream for dessert!!! While the weekends are more "pricey", it's still a pretty fair price for this sort of buffet. read more

10 plus years ago absolutely would be a 5* 10/10 A+. But I don't feel it's as good as it used to be. The highlight for me used to be the Mongolian Bar. However now, it just doesn't hit the same. The chef is the same man it was from when they opened years ago. He treated it like a hibachi chef. Nice, entertaining and the food kicked a$$!! Last few times the raw meat looked awful. Everything seemed dirty. Chef HATED his job and was miserable. So the buffet itself is bland now. The cold salad area wasn't so healthy looking. Wilted food. Stayed away. The mainstay items on the hot buffet are still good. Chow mein is EXCELLENT. Pepper steak is fantastic. Few items I used to enjoy have been removed, but can't hold that against them. Last 2 times I went the ice cream machines were broken. Which normally I wouldn't care. But then the dessert bar had NOTHING aside from 2 small crusty pieces of square cake. So I tried the chocolate pudding from previously mentioned COLD salad bar. The pudding was warm! Couldn't eat it. Overall I should clarify that I pointed out the negative more so than the positive. In the area, of the remaining buffet style restaurants it's still the best I'm aware of. The typical American-Chinese dishes are good. But I've been going here since the day the day it opened as a child with my family. Now going its also a nostalgic thing 20ish years later... Rhode Island has multiple GREAT buffets if you want to take a small road trip. Also the SouthCoast area most of the great buffets have closed down. So as it states, it's a buffet. Would I recommend this buffet? Well... partially yes, food is fine and nothing too bad. Employees are pretty amazing and they do more than they should've, one of the employees cleaned my table a little too early and quick, currently because of COVID-19 you're gonna require a mask which it's pretty obvious the reason why, when you go in and they claim the table for you to seat on one of the signs warns you that you should wear gloves which they give at the counters where the food is for you to get your food. Anyways so I finished grabbing my food and came back, a while into eating when I had put the gloves down on the table to maybe go get more food after... as I said this employee cleaned my table a little too early which what I mean by that is that he took the gloves away a little too quick it kind of just took away the one thing that let me go get more food since it's a bit of a "requirement" and well... I could go get more food after that with new gloves but I was fine as is since I grabbed enough for my enjoyment. Overall the place is good, maybe some dirty parts that could get a bit of cleaning but no big deals that ruins your stay. Employees? I'd say they're great! But may do more than what they need to do sometimes ^^' Come eat here when you don't know what to eat, the restaurant is average size and there's average different foods you can pick from the counters. First timer! The interior is dated. Carpet could use a clean. Wallpaper are yellow. The ceiling tiles above the bar are yellow and full of oil grease. Food quality is average. While it is a Chinese Restaurant, their buffet bar has pizza, fried chicken, fries and other things to accommodate any companions that may not be a huge fan of Chinese Food. Hot and sour soup is bland, no hot and zero sour. A lot of molasses was used to make up the coloring. The Lo Mein is soggy. Chicken fingers are soft and the dough/batter were not even fully cooked through. The only thing that taste or made right was the wasabi. Hey, $10.65 and soda is included. You get what you paid for. A cool place for kraken A good place to get filled and probably over filled when going through Darmouth. It's clean and roomy and the food just keeps coming out. Lots of fruits and veggies and the typical buffet type of fare. The one exception thing was that Peking Garden has some nice seafood that usually isn't found at this type of buffet. including sushi, mussels and these little octopus or squid like things. Small but spicy as hell. They have ice cream but not as many desserts as other buffets and after all the other food it seems a moot point. This place isn't great to communicate with me and my friend we both are deaf even I have hearing aids that I can talk for myself but with all of staffs have mask on it wasn't easy for me to communicate with one of waiter I told her by 3 time that we are deaf and that I need to read their lips they constantly speaking then I give them attitude and talk little loud that cause them be quiet so they can see what I was trying to say on phone to communicate with them. I'm actually shocked by the negative review this place has. My boyfriend and I love going here. It's the first place we think of to eat when we're in the area. I even got my cousin hooked on this place. I usually go for the coconut chicken. It's crispy and perfectly coated with sweet sauce. I also like self-made pizza it reminds me of my childhood when I use to make pizza with my family as a kid. I've never had an issue with the staff there. the decor is outdated but I enjoy it. I get nostalgic when I enter there because it reminds me of the buffets back in the '90s. The sugar buns are absolutely delicious and there's always room for the cajun fries. I'm glad this business was able to make it through COVID. read more

Peking Garden is one of the best Chinese buffets in the area. This is where I go to get my eat on! The food is always hot and fresh, and they keep it coming. The atmosphere is clean, (which is hard to find amongst Chinese buffets) and the staff is pleasant. They have your basic Chinese food selections, plus seafood such as mussels and crab legs during dinner. Desert is a little weak, offering ice cream, fruit, and previously frozen mini pastries, but that's to be expected. Overall a great buffet, I definitely recommend stopping in. In terms of chinese buffets, yeah they get five stars, starting with the Mongolian station where you can get your cook stir fried in front of you. Moving on to the buffet, you might be happy with a few American classics like mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, French fries, mashed potatoes an things of the nature - all surprisingly really tasty. Moving on to the Asian fare, they make the most delicious, crispy stir-fried green beans, sweet & sour chicken, and BBQ spareribs. *belated review* My friends and I dropped by PGB some months ago when we were in the area. Without a doubt, this is *the best* Chinese buffet I've been to in Mass. There was a wide selection of both Asian and American food to choose from. Everything was served fresh and hot. The food was mouthwateringly delicious. I loved all the beef entrees, which were so tender and flavorful. Meanwhile, the crab rangoons won Group Fave Appetizer - so effin' good and better than Boston Chinatown. Seriously, I would choose that for my cheat meal... don't judge me. Finally, the space was super clean, which is a rarity for Asian restaurants, lol. Overall, my friends and I had a very enjoyable buffet experience. To top it off, the family that owns PGB is so sweet and kind - how can you not come back and visit? Our favorite Chinese buffet around. Great deal for a huge variety of yummy Chinese American food& desserts. All the bowls in the buffet are always full and fresh looking. The waiters and waitresses are very attentive and make sure the place is kept clean and your drinks are full. If you're really hungry and only want to spend about $11, a meal here can easily fill you up all day! The lo mein is absolutely delicious as well as the Mei fun. I wouldn't grab too much of the fried/breaded items though, they can be extra oily and really heavy. Still, Im a suckers for the sesame chicken in the bright red sticky sauce, yum! This is probably the worst buffet that we have ever been to. We walked in and immediately got hit in the face with a strong fish smell. Without knowing any better we got a table and went to get the food. Nothing looked appealing so I got lo mein, chicken and broccoli, and chicken fingers.
