I love this little Thai spot as it's right by my job. The service is speedy and the food is decent. They have a great lunch special which includes a spring roll for $13. The place it's small, but they have seats available.

Cozy is definitely the way to describe this space. It's more a storefront with counters and stools than a restaurant. I was welcomed with less of a smile than I'd like, but realize some folk just aren't jovial for no reason. More important than the space and greeting, the food was enjoyable. I like to get basics when tryin a new place, so Shrimp Pad Thai and a Thai iced tea. The tea had an almost 'chemical' taste. Like maybe it's made from a concentrate or the spices were off. Either way it was serviceable, cool and creamy. The Pad Thai was great. Savory and sweet, a touch of heat would have made it absolutely perfect. My compote was filled with the ideal balance of noodles, shrimp, peanuts and sprouts. The textures were all spot on. Fat luscious shrimp interwoven through the noodles. Alongside the heap of crunchy peanuts was some of the freshest, crisp bean sprouts. This was a meal I'd have again with no hesitation.

can only speak to take out, haven't dined in. service is swift and helpful. this shrimp pad thai was INHALED. so freaking delicious. i appreciate the lunch special including a veggie egg roll. price is generous and so is the portion. could be eaten over two meals or satisfy a really hungry moment. loved that it wasn't that sweet, they had a good balance going.

Great little place in Washington Heights. Came in right before a concert at the United Palace on a Wednesday night. We wanted good food but also needed to be quick to make it back to the concert in time. We ordered the SUROSS Sample Fried and the duck Pad Thai. The food was delicious. The only complaint I have about the Pad Thai was the sauce, it was a bit too sweet but other than that it was all delicious. Service was quick and the place got packed pretty quickly. Will def com back her if I'm in the area.

Best Upper Manhattan Thai food for take-out or eat-in! Location: Don't let the size confuse you. The dining/pick-up area is beautiful and fastidiously decorated with the photo of the King of Thailand along with photos of its many different meals. The minimalist and miniature focus on detail gives you a clue on how much care they take their food as well. Food: This place has amazing deep flavor across a variety of dishes with Tom Yum soup to their Massam curry. I ordered pick-up recently of three different items from Thai Fried Rice, curry, and one of their soups. I ordered the side of Ginger Rice for an extra charge. I get the need for extra charges for additions but I might have been happy with the regular rice. We used their lunch specials from a price perspective. Service: Everything was ready on time and very quickly. The order was correct with utensils and duck sauce included Sum-up: There are a variety of Asian take-out places in the area but I would say that this Thai place stands out for its quality of food and service.

Had takeout from here. Was pretty quick. The portion is really good. The pad Thai and the ginger chicken weren't too bad.

    K11. Maple Duck 'n Egg

Delicious, consistent, fast, and lots of variety. Always a treat. My favorite is the Maple Duck with pineapple fried rice and cashews. DO NOT miss the spring rolls and plumb sauce. Best I've ever had.

A hole in the wall that really brings it when it comes to food and presentation. The pad thai was really well flavored, more of the kind I would get in Thailand off the street than the Americanized overly sweet version. Everything was laid out beautifully. Quite pricy, but worth it!

    W1. Spicy Basil

The basil pork was really good and the prices were also good! Great place to grab a bite after a concert.

There was a short wait, but from what I could see, a variety of tables here and seating. Not the biggest place, dark, intimate, wood accents and small spotlights over tables. We ordered buns and spicy edamame to start. It seemed like we had just ordered when the food came out. Love that. Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

We tried the spicy shrimp (coconut based broth), spicy tonkatsu, and salmon miso ramen. The tonkatsu and salmon were both cooked well - tender and moist. They had a variety of sake and beer options. The inside is small but turnaround is fairly quick. Lots of two seaters and a large table that we were able to snag after just a few minutes of waiting. There was also bar seating. Pretty dark inside to add to the ambiance for a quick date or catch up with friends. Checked in to the waitlist via Resy because we didn't have a reservation, and it was a short wait. Service was prompt.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

I almost felt an inconvenience to the server but we didn't have a fussy order nor was it busy (we ordered before the rush). Maybe she was preparing for the rush. Lol either way, it wouldn't stop me from returning.

I also ordered the seasonal matcha pudding and it was pretty tea forward. It was pretty good. Overall: 3/5. It's a fun, nostalgic experience if you miss Japan, but at $23-$30 a bowl with the chashu not as great, it's a one-time visit for me. Stick to the original if you can!
