I came here to have lunch and it was not as good as my last experience. First my friends said the employee was very rude to her when she said she wanted to sit down to eat. My compote was filled with the ideal balance of noodles, shrimp, peanuts and sprouts. The textures were all spot on. Fat luscious shrimp interwoven through the noodles. The most important thing was the healthiness of the dish. Very plain and simple steamed chicken with yellow skin. This is the same exact dish my mom always makes for me at home. Great little place in Washington Heights. Came in right before a concert at the United Palace on a Wednesday night. We wanted good food but also needed to be quick to make it back to the concert in time. We ordered the SUROSS Sample Fried and the duck Pad Thai. The food was delicious. The only complaint I have about the Pad Thai was the sauce, it was a bit too sweet but other than that it was all delicious. Service was quick and the place got packed pretty quickly. There's been multiple occasions where the shrimp ( Sriracha Fried rice with shrimp) were either mushy or had like a old/spoiled taste That never wax the Case before. My last order was delivered in about 40 min, which they are literally across the street and normally deliver 10-15 minutes. Thai fried rice was bad. No spice or seasoning, over salted. Again paid for both shrimp and extra vegetables, only 3 shrimp (lunch maybe?) and veggies didn't seem extra. All rice. The 'Rona circled back to New York City and found its way into my apartment. Thus, we needed something that would melt the congestion away and supplement our hard-working anti bodies. I've always skimmed over Suross as a place I would definitely order from during my next Thai food craving. Alas, on Thursday, I finally had that craving and jumped at the chance to try out this highly-rated eatery. We ordered the Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp and the Drunken Noodles with chicken. Both dishes arrived hot and fresh. The Thai Fried Rice was very flavorful and came with a generous portion of shrimp and basil. I would definitely order it again. The Drunken Noodles were freaking awesome! I knew it was going to be spicy, but whoa baby, I was not ready for the fiery rush that occurred in my head. I am so glad I did not eat these in public because I would have been a mess of tears and snot. I'm pretty sure these noodles pulverized any germs that were occupying my body. I can see why Suross has so many raving reviews. From the couple of dishes we tried, it's evident that they prepare their food with love and care. Great place to come to in the Washington heights neighborhood if you're looking for a quick bite to eat and are craving some Thai food. My friend and I had some pork chop and the pad Thai. The pad Thai was well seasoned and tart like it's supposed to be. We had ours with chicken. The bean sprouts added a nice crisp and contrast from the soft noodles. The pork chop was tender and flavorful. Def coming back to try the other dishes. The Thai tea was also made the way I like it. Yummy and refreshingly not too sweet.
