This is by far the worst Chinese I have EVER eaten in my life. One star is even too high of a rating. Kung Pao? More like Gunk Pao! Food tastes undercooked and bland. I wouldn't even give my dog an option of such torture...despite the food tasting equivalent to the sand (which perhaps has more flavor to it) the owners and staff were very rude when asked to make it a bit more flavorful and that the chicken was raw (pink inside). I...I honestly don't know how they're still in business. When someone suggested that we should eat here for lunch, I had a faint inclination towards the name, like I somehow recognized it. But it never clicked and by the time I checked Yelp after eating there, I knew why I recognized it. It was one of the places I had wanted to avoid. And for good reason. The past reviews aren't kidding about the sanitation of that place. Whenever I touched the back of a chair to pull it back, my hand pulled back sticky. It was such an unpleasant feeling. It's a lame, half-assed attempt at Chinese food. Even Panda Express has better Chinese-American food! Let's settle something really quickly. Just because rice is yellow and salty does NOT mean it's fried rice. That rice was definitely old and reheated because it had a grainy-sandy texture that fell apart when chewed. None of us were fans, and we ended up throwing away almost all of the rice, which actually pissed me off because I hate wasting food. That goes to show how much I hated it. I got the honey garlic chicken, which actually wasn't awful. But it would have been better if they had given us better quality rice. My aunt and uncle got something else--something with beef, I think. But they both said it was pretty awful. My sister ordered the sweet and sour pork, and that was a complete grease bomb. My husband and daughter got the sesame chicken and they were very happy with it. They actually fought over the dish. That is a great sign since my husband is very picky and has been repeatedly disappointed over the quality of Chinese food in the area. I got black pepper chicken and it was VERY bland. I don't recommend that dish. The hot and sour soup, egg rolls, and fried dumplings are all good. I do not recommend the spring rolls. The fried rice was fresh tasting and not greasy at all. Maybe I ordered my food on a really good day or they changed staff because overall I had a good experience. This place is a very small fast food Chinese pick-up restaurant, that deserves more credit then it is getting or we just got really lucky. The staff here is extremely friendly. If you order a lunch/dinner special you will get standard plain yellow rice and not the traditional pork fried rice, so I highly recommend to pay a little extra to request the house special fried rice or what ever type of protein you prefer "by request". The prices are really good for very basic Chinese food with a good selection of lunch and dinner combos and good portions sizes. Obviously this place is not Hakkasan, Mr. Chow or China Grill - you get what you pay for. We ordered a quart of the hot and sour soup and it was loaded with plenty of yummy goodness aka ingredients. There are not many restaurant choices in this area and all dishes seemed pretty on par to most smaller mom and pop Americanized Chinese restaurants, so this place should help fix your craving and fill your belly. read more

Standing at the counter I noticed the man in the back working with and cutting up raw chicken. After I had put my order in the lady at the counter yelled the ordered back to the man where he then turned and started to grab the prepared chicken and vegetables without stopping and washing and sanitizing his hands. I immediately said something to the lady and told her what he was doing and also said to stop my order and refund me my money and told her that what he was doing is dangerous and unhealthy , she then begin to tell me he did not do that. which I then said are you serious are you saying that he did not just turn and start handling the prepared food without washing his hands with she replied I'm sorry he did and apologized. This is so unsafe and it is obvious that this is a common practice. So I left a good review the other day.Today went in to get the large wonton Soup they didn't put into my order..Plus I went to beat some or the sweet & sour pork..When I bit down it was so crunchy hard..I mean like crunchy hard that I haven't had before..and it chipped off my partial to my front tooth. When I first started eating at Peking House years ago, the food was fantastic. The sweet and sour shrimp was my favorite dish. It used to be so good and crispy and tender and tasty all at the same time. Over the course of the last few years, the quality of the food has gone downhill, as has the level of customer service. Orders were getting messed up, items like the sweet and sour sauce somehow being forgotten for sweet and sour shrimp dishes (I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to get my sauce that night). The shrimp itself the last two times has been overcooked and rock hard and just completely inedible. Tonight we ordered our usual, plus a couple containers of egg drop soup. Hubby's sweet and sour pork was just fine and came with fried rice as expected, in a disposable plate. My rice was white and came in a little take out container, and my shrimp came in a bag similar to the ones that the soup crispers came in. No plate. The shrimp was overcooked and inedible. To add insult to injury, the customer service is severely lacking. When one calls an order in, there are no thank you's, the tone curt and abrupt. To be honest, I miss the old Peking House. But we won't be eating there again. We've been disappointed too many times. Giving the one star is just too generous, really. read more

It didnt affect me, in fact I thought it was pathetic for someone to do that for no apparent reason. From most other reviews it seems her show is a daily routine. She practically throws my food at the table when its ready, i finish it and that was it. So atmosphere suckd. As far as food quality, nothing special. I'd say on the low side of decent. All in all enough so that I wont be going back. Yes, I read the previous reviews and stopped in any way. HUGE mistake! I ordered the hot sour soup and hunan beef combination. Let's start with the soup. It wasn't until I was home ready to eat that I looked into the bag......it was Wonton Soup! Not wanting to drive back I thought I'd try it. I mean it's an easy recipe. Eh wrong! Broth was dark and flavorless. Wontons weren't folded they were simply pinched in the middle. Still I tried one and promptly spit it out! Don't know how long it had been swimming around in the pot but obviously longer than it should be. The hunan beef should be called hunan broccoli because the dish had more than normal. I will say that the broccoli was fresh and cooked to perfection. Carrots and bell pepper rounded out the dish that was sparsely dotted with beef. It was all in a non-descript, minute sauce. The egg roll wasn't as full as I normally see and I could tell before even tasting that it was mostly cabbage. I didn't taste anything except for the wrapper. Meaning the filling was tasteless. They take the absolute cheapest route with everything from the tissue-like napkins and child-sized plastic utensils to the fat laden pork they use. I put my meal in the trash after three bites. What to say....first of all, I love Chinese/Japanese cuisine, I even love the China Max chain. The food my wife, daughter and I ate here, could barely be called "cuisine". To start, the service was terrible. When I walked up to the counter and asked the middle aged Asian man if the food was fresh, he said, "I don't know what you mean by fresh?" This, to anyone, should be a red flag. But, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. So then I rephrased, "is the food cooked to order?" And he said, "yes we cook it", then my wife said, "so it's not buffet style?", and he started getting upset and said,"no, it's not buffet." I was partially satisfied, so I ordered the orange chicken for my wife, and the sesame chicken for myself. Both of them combos. When the man walked to the chefs to place the order, we noticed, on the grill line, there was a pile of raw chicken. No idea how long that was there. And in the very back, was a rack, filled with open boxes of egg rolls. None of them were in a wrapper, or sealed in any way. They were just laying around, some were even on the floor. This is when we got a little worried. We went and sat down at a table to wait for our food, and discussed what we just saw. Shortly after, a woman (she worked there) walked through the door with her children, leaves them in the dining area, and just heads to back of the restaurant. And There is a little Asian girl, no older than 3, roaming around the dining area with an ice cream cone, and keeps approaching my wife and I, just staring at us. She continues roaming around, and somehow trips, and her cone slides across the disgusting, unclean floor. Her apparent "father" just glances at her, as she picks up the cone, and continues to eat it. After all that, we ended up getting our food fairly quickly. The broccoli was very spongy, the fried rice was stale and bland, my sesame chicken was decent, but pretty dry. My wife's orange chicken however, was mostly made up of this breading stuff. Barely any chicken at all, and when there was chicken, it was in small, hard to chew chunks. The egg rolls were rubbery and chewy, and tasted stale, and had strange red chunks of some form of "meat". All in all, a horrible experience. It is hard to judge a place on one item but sometimes you only get one shot. This is the standard strip mall chinese spot. Walk in handful of tables, hot, floor somewhat sticky, you walk out. Never been before and after ordering one lone item will not be back. We ordered chicken on a stick and it quickly became chicken in the garbage. The sauce was odd, mostly flavorless, with a light sweet and greasy flavor creating an unbalanced experience. The meat may have been old because it was dried out and flavorless with absolutely nothing going for it. For such a simple item they created an epic fail. We will not be going back. read more

The rudest man I have ever spoken with on the phone in any business ever. I called to place an order of General Tso chicken and egg drop soup. I asked how spicy the Generals chicken was and the guy raised his voice and told me to order online and hung up on me. I thought maybe we got disconnected so I called back and as soon as I started to speak, he told me to order online and hung up again. I was so mad, but my grandson wanted the chicken badly and I always try to give in to him so I ordered online. My husband agreed to go get it because we couldnt trust I would hold my tongue. When he got there they had charged him an additional fee of $1.75 for ordering online. No where was this disclosed. He argued he wasnt paying that since they made us order online, but they would not back off the fee. We both have vowed to NEVER darken their door or website again.
