    Massive pancake! Crispy bacon!!
    Johnny L.

Wow, this was my first time here, and it was super busy, just like a classic diner! The bacon was crispy, but the real star was the pancake--it was practically the size of the plate! I haven't seen anything like this since I left the West Coast, so it was a delightful local treat. Even when it was super busy, the food was fresh and served quickly! I saw a party with 10 people there. Some people say the Diner is dying but you can just look here and see a thriving business. The bus boy was lighting up the place with joking and just making the place feel light hearted.

Great old school breakfast spot. Pancakes are massive. 2 people can only eat 1. Wife and I split the patriot breakfast and biscuits and gravy. We had way too much food.

Perfect diner breakfast! Menu has everything you could possibly want. Don't be intimidated by the size of the pancake. It is like vanilla air! I managed half of it with my Patriot Breakfast. Hubby had biscuits and gravy with sausage. Came out faster than I thought possible. Service was excellent. We were well looked after. Great coffee, too! We will come back if we are ever in this area. Highly recommend!!

Pelham Diner is a beautiful hole-in-the-wall style buffet restaurant. The food is incredibly cheap for what you get and you can always go back for another round and you will still end up cheaper than just one platter of food at most other restaurants. The food is kept warm, never cold and the cooks and waiters are super friendly and always checking on you. My food was absolutely delicious, though it was a bit on the salty side. The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect 5 stars is the restrooms are in rather poor condition and that could be a turn-off for a handful of people. Other than that, if you are stopping by Pelham and want a nice place to eat, this is it!

This place is fabulous. We're on vacation and our rule is only go to local restaurants, nothing we can have at home. So we found this dinner, lots of locals eating here. The waitress was fun and charming. The food was amazing. The place was clean. The biscuits were great. The best part, Cedric. He was clean and filling coffee and my hubby made a comment about the basketball hat and Cedric gave my husband a comical dirty look and kept it up through the entire meal. It was fabulous

On my way to Tuscaloosa, and I needed some breakfast, I found this little gem. Now, this place has some Southern charm and great hospitality. The staff is super friendly, and I think the entire customer base was just speaking freely and out loud with them my entire stay. And the place is small, so you gear everything! The only issue for me is the waitress singing every 80's song out loud. It got old after a little while. I was hungry. Looking around, the portions looked to be fairly large. The pancakes are frickin' huge! I ordered the Oxmoor breakfast: three eggs, 2 choices of meats (double patties for me), grits or hashbrowns, toast or biscuits, and a bowl of gravy, Wow! All of that for $10.95! All the condiments you need are already setting on the table; hot sauce, ketchup, jelly, salt, and pepper. The food was served quick. Food tasted good. All in all, a great stop!

Yum yum yummy! I'd been wanting to give this diner a try but I'm not usually down this way during breakfast and lunch hours. But today was the day. Pelham diner is a meat and veggies soul food spot. The lunch menu changes daily and it's served cafeteria style... which I like so that I can see what the food looks like before I make a choice. My sis and I enjoyed our plates. We couldn't eat it all. I ended up taking my porkchop home for dinner and it was still good. No complaints. The service was great and the staff was very very welcoming and kind. Like going to granny's house (ya'll know I love southern charm). I have to go back soon for breakfast to try the pancakes... even the other customers were telling us how amazing they are. Pelham Diner... stay delicious cause I'm coming back!

For a good value and good food, come here! The menu isn't extensive but they have your basic breakfast stuff. I got the patriot breakfast. 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or hash browns and a pancake. Everton was really good. Bacon cooked crisp, grits creamy and buttery, eggs as I ordered. The pancake was enormous. They call it a hub cap. Needless to say, I took more than half of my pancake home. Service was good. We will come here again if we are in the area.

I had the Patriot. It's more than too much food...delicious!

Thankfully free parking was available. I walked in at the perfect time, just as the breakfast grill was shutting down and the lunch grill was heating up. Oh well, let's try the omelette and hash brows. I'm really not into hash browns but these were delicious! Crispy and perfectly round. The omelette was also good and fluffy. The coffee was a good robust cup of coffee. This is a real old school diner. Counter seats with a few booths to the side. No frills here. Decent diner food with great friendly service. I haven't had their chicken tenders before, but now realize I prefer it over the standard fried chicken solely because the flavor profile is better (more seasoned). I would order this again. Salad for my steak tips was as expected. I also redeemed a birthday reward for the chocolate cake. The bite I took was pretty good and it is easily a sharable portion size. Now for the not so good... My order through metro diners website consisted of steak tips, mash&gravy, garden salad with ranch. I personally would not order this again. Issue: The steak was chewy, flavor was bland and portion size seemed small for the value. My DoorDash order consisted of 1. Bissell breakfast with pancakes, scrambled eggs, cheese grits, bacon and a biscuit. 2. Small sausage gravy side 3. Chicken tenders plate with creole mustard, green beans and French fries. Issue: I quickly glanced through the see through lid of the boxes and noticed toast instead of a biscuit and no container that would have had the cheese grits. Went inside to notify the team and expo of missing items (also brought the bag back in). The expo called for these missing items from the kitchen. The cook glanced and then asked if he had a ticket for that? I managed restaurants for years so I get it when the kitchen asks this, however, the ticket was the one you made incorrectly and the expo did not check for correctness. The expo also stated "it is for a DoorDash order that she said is wrong". I'm happy this was a personal order because I got to see firsthand how it appears DD order issues are dismissed since they seemed to assume I was a driver. At least that is how the short exchange presented. They weren't rude it was the tone and lack of apology for my missing items. Mistakes happen. How you respond to and handle them matters. Fast forward - I get home and realize they must have simply switched my order with someone else's. There were hash browns with cheese and diced tomatoes and scrambled eggs with cheese. Was not my order and could not eat this order. The pancakes were just okay. Tried the sausage gravy with the biscuit. Not something I would get again but this part isn't a reflection of Metro Diner. Ordered this just to try it since many rave about this southern combo. Let's just say there will be more for everyone else to enjoy.
