This course is one of the cheapest in the Birmingham area, so lots of young folk out. It's about $30 to play. One of my friends is a fairly avid golfer and gave up even putting on some of these hold because "the greens are awful." I'm no expert, but love having something to blame my poor performance on. So, yes, the putting greens were very slow and not the best manicured thing in the world. There were also a few stray dogs running around. The dudes up in the clubhouse were friendly and we didn't have to do any waiting to get out there. The carts had those little screens that give you all the information on the holes as you get to them (par, distance, etc). I do think there could have been more water stations out, I think we only hit one at hole 10. It was a hot day. I would totally golf here again, but bear in mind I'm just out here to putz around.

They don't allow outside beverages, you have to buy their drinks that are unbelievably overpriced. They force single and double players to play with other twosomes.. There are silly little rules for everything. I can't stand that. When you pay over $100 for one person to play, the least they can do is leave you alone and allow you to play your game. This is Birmingham, there are great affordable courses everywhere available--courses who'll leave you alone and stay out of your head and allow you to play without stupid arbitrary rules.. but this ain't one of 'em. I'll never be back.

The participants always enjoy themselves and the staff at the golf course are always available to assist us. We will see you next year!

One thing to keep in mind, you must be a resident of Hoover to actually have a membership here. There are some exceptions related to youth sports, where the kid can actually still come here - but the parent will not be able to work out. Overall pretty nice facility and they have divided it out amongst the 3 or 4 floors - pairing stuff that goes together. The very top of the walking/running track. Basketball courts and a pretty nice pool can also be used. If you are a Hoover resident and would like to check out gyms, add this one to your list before you commit to anywhere else. Going to this place has become routine for me due to my kids participating in sports. However, I have observed basketball courts, a swimming pool area, a gym, and an indoor walking track. There is adequate parking outside and this pace is not far for highway 459. The basketball courts are where I spend most of my time. There's adequate seating for the normal volume of parents and fans. This place is consistent with most of the gyms in the area. My only suggestion for improvements that the front desk staff be more friendly and willing to offer assistance. My first couple times here, I had to figure out where I was going. No one at the desk greeted me or offered any kind of help.
