DO NOT recommend buying swim spa/hot tub from here. I will try to stick to facts to inform others of our horrible experience buying our swim spa here. We bought in June of 2020 during covid, putting 50 percent down, and were told as soon as we had a rock pad down our cal spa could be delivered. A few weeks later after getting permits, getting rock pad down, we scheduled our delivery as we were told from day 1 ours was the last one in stock. Mind you, this is a lot of coordinating to have fence taken out so truck can fit in, and electrician the day after delivery, as well as landscapers lined up day after delivery to close fence back up. We were required to pay the remainder of our spa IN FULL A WEEK BEFORE DELIVERY. The night before delivery, our salesperson Andrew who had assured us everything was in place ready to go, called to say the swim spa failed a leak test, and would not be able to deliver until a new one from the factory was shipped in a month. A month later we reschedule a delivery, and the spa is delivered with several huge holes in the side panels. The delivery people said the warehouse people told them the owners were already informed, which we were not. Pelican said they would overnight the replacement panels. The panels took over 2-3 weeks, the workers show up, and the new panels were in packaging, and were also broke. They came out a second time after 2-3 weeks, and again, some of the parts still broken when they unwrapped them. Every time we were told they would overnight the parts, and unless my husband or I followed up, with the exception of once, we did not hear anything for WEEKS. Now it is November, and we want to be sure all the holes are covered before winter, and there is still one broken piece. My husband's last conversation with Pelican he was told the part is indefinitely on back order, and was at least 6 months backed up. My husband said, "So you're telling me you delivered a broken $16,000 spa without notifying us ahead, and there is nothing you can do to fix it?" He said, "yep". The next day I reach out to cal spa directly, long story short, they could not have been nicer, express shipped the part directly to us (obviously in stock). We also heard a story that the same salesperson we had told another family the reason their hot tub was delayed after paying in full was because the delivery people were in a multi car collision, hot tub damaged, and staff had to be airlifted to a trauma center. The same delivery people were at our house 2 days later without a scratch on them. I can't verify this story to be true, but after our experience I believe it. read more

We called these guys to replace the spa cover lift assembly for our hot tub. The one we had was an assisted/hydraulic-type lift. Without seeking any input from us whatsoever on the replacement product, they selected and installed a standard spa cover lift assembly, which they stated was a "superior product." The lift assembly provided was overpriced and ultimately made the cover much more difficult to raise. The real kicker is that after only 3 years, the mounting brackets that attach the lift rail to the hot tub are corroded, rusted, and falling apart. The selected product was seemingly made from materials not designed to be out in the elements where they would get wet! When I contacted Pelican about this problem, their spa services department did not return my phone calls. So, I stopped in the store to show the spa service dept. guy the photos of the rotting brackets. He agreed that the product should not be rusting and coming apart after only 3 years, but stated that it was out of warranty. He said we could try reaching out to the manufacturer, but he was not able to identify the product they used. Pelican apparently does not keep records of what products they install in their customer files. After unsuccessfully trying to identify it doing a Google search, he told me to email the photos to another member of their service department, who would know who the manufacturer was and would get back to me the next day. Several weeks have gone by after initially emailing the pictures, and I still never received an answer. I have given up on trying to get any assistance out of Pelican. They do not stand behind the products they install; and they have no interest in assisting their customers in getting redress from the manufacturer they selected. What a terrible experience all around. Overpriced, inferior spa products, and horrible customer service. Will not do business with this company again. Stay away! read more

I buy all of my pool chemicals and supplies at Pelican in Whitehouse. I have been shopping there for over 10 years. So when it was time to buy our new patio set, I naturally brought my wife to Pelican first to shop their extensive selection. When we arrived, we walked up onto their main front display area and a young man was cooking hot dogs on a grill for the customers. What a nice touch! We shopped the front display area and Mindy approached us and said hello. She asked if we needed assistance and we told her that we were just browsing at the moment. Mindy reminded us that they had a large patio display area around the back and we proceeded to shop this area. My wife located a patio set that she liked and we were in the process of trying it out. Mindy was in eye sight so I proceeded to wave her over. We had some questions about the set and its construction and Mindy knew everything that we were asking. As we sat on the chairs and checked things out, I felt the set was more cheaply made then what I preferred. I like to buy things that are going to last for a long time. Mindy explained with great honesty that the set was made with hollow tubular construction which is why I felt it was cheap. I loved her honesty and cander, so we continued to shop around. Well because of Mindy's honesty and cander, we ended up buying an expensive set that we LOVE! Thanks Pelican for having honest speaking employees who don't just try and sell you something! My fiancé and I had spent all day going to different pool and spa store's trying to see what was available, prices etc. and to no avail either the selection was limited or the customer service was horrendous. Our last stop for the day was at Pelican Shops, we figured we would just look around and get some information then make a decision by the weekend. As soon as we walked into the store, we were immediately greeted by a customer service representative whom asked what we were looking for and pointed us in the direction of the Hot Tubs. We looked around, and then Nick came over to see if we had any questions or concerns. We just relocated to Hillsborough in New Jersey and are first time home owners so we wanted to make sure we made the right choice. Nick walked us through each model and explained the differences as well as various options. There was no pressure to purchase, no upselling, nothing just pure conversation. Ultimately, we decided to go with the Cancun 6bench (EC867B) spa. Nick spent his time and gave us just the facts - no bells or whistles. He wasn't pushy or trying to upsell us - rather the product upsold itself!!! Nick was great! Since then, we have continued to support the Pelican Shops in our pool and swim needs. Now with the winter approaching we have already been discussing new snowboards so we know where we will be going! My husband and I were familiar with Pelican Swim & Ski because we cought our ski equipment from them in the past and we were very pleased with everything. Recently, we saw an advertisement for a patio furniture sale so of course we went to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised withe selection of patio furniture Pelican was offering in their Whitehouse store. We are overjoyed with our new patio furniture! It is extremely comfortable and stylish and it looks great on our deck. We checked other retail stores namely, Lowe's and Home Depot, however, the furniture at these other places were of poor quality. They delivered our furniture promptly and the delivery assistants set it up for us immediately so we could enjoy it right away. We also like the fact that it is coated with a special protective sealant so we have no worries about the furniture getting weathered or falling apart. We would highly recommend Pelican in Whitehouse to our friends and our family. You can be sure we will be returning to the store in the future to check out their new items. read more

We had a wonderful experience shopping for new deck furniture at Pelican Swim & Ski in Whitehouse, NJ. Our Salesman, Jose, was awesome! He was very knowledgeable on the products Pelican carries. He was not pushy or impatient with us as we continually changed our minds on several different styles. Buying good quality outdoor furniture is an investment to say the least and he understood that. With a style picked out that we loved and could be added on to in the future, we left very happy and looking forward to our delivery. The two young men who delivered our new furniture were also professional, taking time to carry the pieces onto our deck carefully, setting everything up where we wanted it. We are thrilled with our choice of furniture. We have always had a wonderful experience with Pelican whether we are buying a new grille, picking out skis/poles, or purchasing outdoor furniture. We recently purchased a 3 piece deep seating patio furniture set plus a firepit coffee table from the Whitehouse, NJ Pelican Shop. We are extremely please with the furniture and want to credit Marie for guiding us through the selection process. She was wonderfully helpful and gave us some important tips on what to look for in quality patio furniture. She was very knowledgeable and has a great eye for design and she knew her products well. We felt no pressure to buy, but were so impressed with what we saw and confident in our choice after Marie's guidance, that we made our purchase the same day. We were also please with Pelican's prompt delivery and their friendly delivery service team. We received our order within a week. However, after delivery we noticed a flaw on the sofa frame and contacted Marie. She arranged for a new sofa to be delivered the next day. That is great service! BEWARE! DO NOT BUY A SPA FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. We bought a Cal spa From this dealership and Andrew Spilatro was the absolute worst to deal with. Where do I start. No customer service or support. Could care less about the customer. A complete liar and cheat. He screwed up the first delivery date. Lied about timing on second delivery date. Brought the wrong color tub to our home. Lied about connecting the spa to the electric line I ran. Caught the spa on my mailbox and damaged that and another side of spa when they dropped it on the road Offloading it. Sent used scratched panels from a spa on the lot to replace the broken ones on my new spa. They were the wrong style and size. When speaking with him he was unapologetic rude laughed at me and when I said aren't you concerned about the customer experience he said not really, we get bad reviews all the time. Deal with it. Andrew is a liar and a lazy pos. Sold me a 2015 floor model. Told me is had options. Offered to replace cabinet after I noticed it was rotten. I asked if it would be done before delivery. He stated yes we have all the parts. Delivery day I get a call they are missing a panel. They stole the parts off something else it looks like a 4 year old did the work. Cover is wrong color. Missing ozone system. I was told it had built in mineral system. He sends a floater. They sent someone back to fix the issues. Guy had wrong cover no lifter and missing parts. Nothing got done. I went to the store he refused to write a list of what needs to be done and is passing it off to someone I have not spoken to. I wish I would have ordered a new Hot Springs and waited 3 weeks. read more

Years ago we bought skis and clothing there and had good vibes walking in to see what outdoor furniture was offered for our new patio. Selection was awesome!! From reasonable to expensive, depending on what your tastes and pocket-book allows. Our sales-woman, Marie was great and walked away to let my wife and I decide. When beckoned, she had the answers to our questions and the additional "coupons" for the set we ordered along with the high-top table and 2 swivel chairs plus other items. Marie met our request for free delivery in 3 days; Two fellows unloaded, wiped down all items and carefully placed the patio furniture wherever we asked them to. We got the 4 person tub and we love it. Warms up fast and does not take up too much space on the patio. Our kids are older and so far it is just the two of us. We have earned this treat! The installers were pleasant and efficient and we do encourage people to sign up for the at home tutorial - we got helpful tips from the home visit. Pelican has been my GO TO spot for snowboard goods for the past 15 years plus!!! Jose knows what he's talking about and has helped me with issues from proper boot fitment to his personal review on different Thule rack options. I'm reading some reviews on here complaining of high prices but I rather pay once and know my gear is what it needs to be once I get to the mountain. Plus they don't leave you hanging once you buy goods from them. Had a pair of DC boots replaced on the spot a year after purchasing them there no problem! I have been to hundreds of ski/ snowboard shops in my day and Jose is the most approachable person with a far more knowledge than anyone else!!! Shop local people... read more

We were very happy with our experience at Pelican when choosing a patio set. There was a pretty large variety of sets available to look at. The saleswoman Marie took her time with us to go over a few different sets and show us the features. For the quality of product the prices couldn't be beat. Delivery was fast even though we don't live near this store. We were so happy with the service that we returned the next week to purchase cushions and we'll definitely be back for all other patio needs. Side note that a couple of our chairs arrived damaged and we didn't notice until the next day. Called Pelican and they came out and replaced them with no questions asked. I bough a patio set from Pelican Shops in Whitehouse in May. I waited to post this review to see how the set performs. It has been great. While in store Marie showed me several sets. They have the full display. I like one set but liked the chairs from another one more because they had a lattice and a similar one was on a table I liked. I asked if I could mix and match. My request was immediately fulfilled. They delivered and set up the set in a week. I know that friends who both a patio set from another store waited three months. The set is holding up very well. We purchased a beautiful table and chairs along with a matching umbrella from Pelican Shops in Whitehouse, NJ. Our last purchase chase from them was 30 years ago from their then Green Brook, NJ shop. We gave the entire set to Habitat for Humanity they were surprised to hear how old the set was and the excellent condition it was in hubby took good care of it. My wife and I bought a beautiful patio set, umbrella and stand, along with a gas grill at Pelican. We have since received many compliments on the set from family and friends. We were new to the area and decided to stop in the store and it was certainly worth our time and effort. We dealt with Megan who was very helpful. There was no pressure and we spent a lot of time looking and talking among ourselves without anyone hovering over us until we made our decision. We purchased a deck table with 6 chairs, cushions and an umbrella. The inventory and quality of patio furniture was the best we had seen after going to several other stores. Mindy was helpful and nice, and not at all pushy, she left us plenty of time to look around on our own. We did not use Pelican's delivery service as we have a pickup truck, but I will say the guys in the loading area were very helpful with putting furniture in our truck to ensure no damage would happen on the trip home. My wife and I had been looking for a hot tub for a while for us and our two small children. We had never had a hot tub before and the folks at Pelican explained everything we needed to know and then some. They coordinated the delivery, gave us a great owner training and have been very helpful answering questions we have had since we have owned the spa for a few weeks.
