We asked about happy hour since Instagram said they had it, but turns out it's not a thing anymore. They owned the miscommunication and took care of us, offering $8 wine, discounts on a couple appetizers, and even a complimentary extra glass of wine to make it up. We ordered a few things off the tapas menu. The popcorn chicken, the octopus, uni and foie gras, short ribs, and beef tacos. The short ribs leaned a bit dry, but everything else was on point. Standout by far was the uni and foie gras. A little pricey for 4 pieces but very delicious. Big shoutout to the 2 staff on site, very friendly, warm and responsive throughout. I would recommend Tavern 157 if you're in the area looking for something casual with good drinks and food and not in the mood for Korean food. Just double-check happy hour before you go, as they mentioned a new one may be coming. Overall, a really enjoyable first visit.

It was definitely a memorable experience... We decided to give their Flushing location a try & it did not disappoint. Our server, Nicholas, provided us with exceptional service. He was very friendly, helpful & super attentive. We opted for the premium + ultimate AYCE, which has 65 items. All the food came out quick- one after the other. The meats were marinated perfectly, fresh quality cuts, flavorful & tender, they cook fast too. Everything was sooo delicious. My son loved the beef tongue (I wasn't a fan) as well as every single beef item he ordered. I especially loved the hirami skirt steak, toro beef & kalbi chuck rib. I also really liked the cheese corn butter & matcha mochi ice cream. This is 1000x better than Korean BBQ. We can't wait to eat it again:]

Egg fried rice - perfect with all the other dishes, and a pretty large portion. The total came to about $100, but this way too much food for 3 people. This was a solid choice for the neighborhood.

I ordered a Sichuan classic, twice cooked pork, and a new dish I've never seen before, snow pea leaves in broth. The twice cooked pork was a fantastic iteration of this dish. The pork was sliced thin with the perfect amount of chew which paired well texturally with the soft, buttery leeks. The flavor was so well balanced while being heavily seasoned and the smoky wok hei flavor really comes through. The snow pea leaves were soft and silky with tender stems, and they came served in a golden broth with some mushrooms, juicy tomato and snappy pieces of black fungus. The dish is topped with a century egg. I found the broth itself to have a bit of a grainy texture when sipped. I've tried century egg in the past and while I'm not disgusted by it, I never quite felt like I understand the ingredient until eating this dish. The creamy, funky flavor of the egg reminds me of blue cheese and it pairs very well with the subtle flavors of the snow pea leaves and amplifies the richness of the broth. I really enjoyed my experience here and would like to return with a group to try more of the Sichuan classics on the menu.

There is a tiny area next to the window that sells many bakery items and also sandwiches that look pretty good. The sponge rolls cakes are good. But not really special because you can get these at many Flushing bakeries. Pork bun, lacked enough sauce and filling. Service is fine. Servers were nice and helpful. Decor. Pretty nice, with fake trees inside, with wood booth seating. Could use some cushions. If I'm in the area, I might only come back for bakery items. But maybe this place will get better in time, just not right now for me.

My friend's mom wasn't a fan of raw stuff so she ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and she wasn't a huge fan of it. The fish was a tad overcooked and the overall presentation of the dish looked more of a Chinese fusion dish. The risotto had that cheesy flavor but the presentation with the Bok Choy and the risotto looked more like fried rice and was confusing. I came with two of my friends, this place had one of the most energized interiors of all, the place itself was small but orderly managed. It isn't really suited for large parties, but I could see they did the best they could with the space available. The menu had only chicken items, not like others that have several options; this place is literally just chicken and some appetizers. Nevertheless, I still thoroughly enjoyed my meal. So as I said earlier, we were seated right away. But shortly after ordering, a party of four came in and the employees asked us to relocate to a smaller table so that they could be seated. Generally, I don't like being relocated but the space is small so I could understand. They did help us move all our water and food and jackets so that was nice. We ordered calamari for our appetizer and each person ordered 8 marinated wings, which was perfect for my appetite. The calamari came out first in a decent amount of time and they were SO good!! Those were devoured quickly and I wish there was more of them. The wings came out and though I ordered honey garlic, it tasted more like honey mustard which was disappointing. My friends got the regular chicken in elementary and middle school level. The elementary level is tolerable spicy. The middle school level was way too much for me. Overall, the place was good. They come by to refill our water every now and then; they allowed us space to talk and did not rush us out even though there were people waiting. And, this place is also way cheaper. People like me who are always into the thing of knowing what they eat and whether the thing is pure organic and preservative free then this restaurant is for you guys. The fact that they change their oil every day just makes it a little less painless when you want some deep fried goodness and are super self conscious about what you're eating. They've changed up their menu a few times but the chicken never disappoints. I like the addition of their new ice cream beer. I do wish they would bring back their sweet and sour sauce but for now I have liked their sweet and spicy and honey garlic wings. They also have cheese topped wings called snowy cheese. I'm glad they got rid of those sweet potato sticks that although were super crispy used to be like digging your hands into a sharp haystack and stab you in the mouth when you eat them. They have onion rings as a side if you don't want fries. The finger gloves are also very helpful in keeping your hands pristine and clean since the wings get pretty sticky. But if you get the boneless you can just use a fork. No bones no problems only big chunks of spicy, crispy goodness. I also like their kimchi fried rice which comes with an egg and salad. Their gizzards faint aren't bad either. I can also eat a whole bowl of that pickled radish they give you on the side. From the outside, this place looks like any regular wing joint. The inside was exotically decoder with lights and music and various tables set up properly to use as much space as possible because of the small size of the restaurant. The spot itself isn't very large however, we arrived at 8pm on a Saturday and were seated right away even with a group of about 8 seated right next to us. The front of the store has reserved parking for customers (it was full) but we were still able to find parking a few stores down. So that's a plus! My friend and I got the lemonade although they had a lengthy list of beers but we stick with some refreshing lemonade. We also got the soy dumplings, garlic wings and spicy chicken over rice. Somehow the order for garlic wings was mixed up and we got spicy wings instead. The staff handled the situation so well! They asked if we wanted to keep the wings and they'll replace it for us. My friend doesn't eat spicy at all so she declined; I said that I will take those. Anyways the wings were really spicy but also really good. The garlic wings were delicious. We both loved how moist the wings were and the how crunchy the outside coating was. The spicy chicken over rice wasn't spicy for me but it sure was good. I've been to this restaurant three times. The first two times was a few years ago. The first time I went to this Flushing restaurant was with my Korean friend. We made some fabulous memories. The administration was great and the food was awesome! After having such a stunning experience, I decided to go back on my own. The experience was not as happening as it was when I first when with my buddy. Another Korean friend mentioned this place to me just yesterday, so I figured I would try it once again. And, I'm glad I did. I must say, the service was much better, and the food was outstanding. Their quality standard is very high. Their degree of excellence has improved on what was already a quality product. I trust they shall keep improving on this standard and caliber. I bet that if their pricing was more reasonable, this place would be packed day and night. The fact that their prices are already at its highest price point is pretty heavy when they need to also charge for their sauces. That's a bit over the top. During my third visit today, they were super friendly. Perhaps, not as attentive as I would have liked, but a tremendous improvement from a few years ago. I look forward in come back again, especially if they keep refining and enhancing the dining experience. This restaurant is not far from Queens at all. I came here with my friends during lunch break from work. This place has really nice ambiance, decor with a mix blend of Korean and American culture, the waiters were super friendly. Our table had a little mini garbage can which I thought was so cute. I see now why they have it because eating those wings can get messy. The waiter gave us our menu so we could order. The menu was available both in English and Korean. The place also has beer of different types but I ordered simple water because I didn't want beer to ruin the taste for me. We ordered the fried sweet potato. Those things are tricky to eat. They are so thin, but they taste so good. They break so easily so be sure to open your mouth all the way. The waiter also gave finger protectors to keep fingers grease free. I ordered the 8 piece BBQ chicken. It was perfectly seasoned, it had the right amount of crunch, and the sauce was perfect. You can tell the chicken is organic because it didn't taste like all that crappy stuff we eat on the regular. My friend got the Sweet Chili spicy wings I believe. He said they were so good, I have a bad reaction to spicy food, so I didn't get to try one, but he said they were HOT. His lips started burning him, but he didn't care because they were just that good!!For good QUALITY chicken wings I would recommend Pelicana Chicken. read more

This is my favorite Korean chicken place. The only thing that will trouble you is the décor which is super energetic, neon lights, which are lighting up the whole place, the glare is blinding but it soon becomes unnoticeable. Once you get over that though, delicious chicken awaits! There are tons and tons of flavors - fried, marinated, BBQ, garlic, cheese flavored, etc. The number of times I've been there though, I've always gotten the whole chicken half spicy fried and half marinated. (They also have wings and boneless as options. And also hamburger steak and a plethora of other non-chicken dishes if fried chicken doesn't appeal to you.) The spicy fried and spicy marinated is SPICY! Be warned! I love spicy so I love it even though my mouth is on fire and the top of my scalp is sweating, but for those who are not into spicy as much as I am, I'd suggest doing half spicy and the other half non spicy. The spicy marinated is good, but not much more so than other KFC places, but the spicy fried is AMAZING and addictive. The spices are in the batter. Every table gets a salad and pickled radishes. Unfortunately the chicken doesn't come with fries so you have to order that separate at a hefty price, but they're hot and crispy. I wouldn't recommend the Hite by the pitcher. There are plenty of awesome bottled beer selections though, so I'd stick to bottled beers instead. read more

Pelicana chicken is a Korean chicken restaurant. For those of you who don't know what Korean fried chicken is, it's actually double fried, a first dry and then dipped in spices / seasonings and fried again which seals the flavor inside. So even though this is a Korean chicken and beer spot, it is infused with the American culture and will be a good palce for newbies. Their chicken was great, Tteokbokki was also great, fries were alright. Their prices are on the expensive side compared to other chicken places in the area, but worth it. The chicken is fried to order so plan on ordering an appetizer or two while waiting for your chicken. We had a platter which had both the garlic and the hot vesions of the seasonings and both were well seasoned and very crispy. Atmosphere is another reason I'd recommend this place. Reason why is because it's infused with a standard American sports bar. Most of the chicken and beer bars I've been to just have tables without an actual bar area and the TVs show Korean music and no real shows or sports. Here they actually have sports I want to watch!! This is a great place for a group of friends to visit, sit around a platter of chicken, drink and chat. ALthough children are welcome, there was no high chair so I would not come if you have kids. Pelicana Chicken is the ideal spot for a late night snack. They have some incredibly flavorful and crunchy chicken that is fresh as can be. I have sampled many of their high quality chicken so it would be too hard for me to name it all, so I'll just tell you my favorites. My favorite one has to be the Spicy Soy Garlic Wings/Boneless Wings. The meat is so tender and juicy. After a bite, I thought it had great flavors of savory and the right amount of seasoning but not spicy. Wait for it... then the spicy kick sneaks up on you! Woo...that blew me away! Another favorite of mine is their Original Fried Chicken, golden brown colored and super crispy texture. I loved the loud crunches I make. I would also recommend the white snowing cheese, as it has a sweet taste to it that compliments the salty nature of the chicken and/or fries. The meat was perfectly cooked and simply flavorful. Mango Beer, oh my goodness! I absolutely love the sweet mango-flavored icy foam top. It mixed so well with beer! So sweet and so refreshing that I wish that it was summer time again! Amazing! Good food. Good drinks. Good company. That's all you need for a good time! This is a great chicken place. The sides are as good as the chicken. Service is prompt and courteous. Came here at around 10pm when I was going back home from office, as I am a huge fan of Korean food so why not giving it a try. This was my first time here and the menu was pretty complicated. I was unsure of what to order, so I asked the waiter for help. Don't get me wrong, the service was great but the food was just good. Since it was my "first time" ordering, I asked the waiter what he would recommend and he broke down the many options of the menu for me. He said that since it was my first time, he recommended me to get either the original, spicy crispy, or crispy wings and he would give me some of the top dipping sauces for the wings on the side on the house (they're usually $2-3 per sauce). He ended up giving me the Pelicana, Garlic, and Honey Garlic Sauce. I'm really picky when it comes to sauces so I was not really a fan of the Garlic and Honey Garlic sauce but the Pelicana sauce was pretty good! It was sweet and had a bit of heat to it. The wings took about 15/20 minutes to make. The chicken itself was tender and the drumsticks were HUGE, however the batter for me was way too crispy. This place is famous for its Korean style chicken, which retains its flavor because of the double frying technique. Great service is also a thing that makes this place one of the best wings spot of Flushing. I had Pelicana before and it was good but I didn't get the full experience until I went again, so this time I went with my friends to enjoy our usual Tuesday night adventure. Our server Kevin did an amazing job "waitering", he explained and stopped by often to check on things. Now to the most important part, the wings. I'm a big fan of the traditional wings (soy fried chicken). I like the good sweet/spicy/salty/lightly fried chicken .My friends ordered spicy wings which they regret later for being super hot. The wings were served with signature sauce which was moderately spicy and add to the flavor of the wings. Underneath the perfect fried exterior, which isn't greasy at all, is some of the juiciest chicken I had in awhile, it was super fine in tenderness and super juicy. I don't even remember if the last time I came the wings were so juicy. Also order the sweet potato fries and thank me later. Flushing is the area of town where a lot of Chinese and Korean have set up their businesses, along with a lot of Chinese restaurants you might also see a few Korean restaurants. My brother recommended us to give Pelicana chicken a try, he suggests we come here and try their fried chickens. He also said they have a good selection of beers, which is music to my ears. We arrived for dinner. I looked over their menu, which is pretty simple, both in English and Korean. I already made up my mind and went with their wings. The skin was very nice and crispy. Nice garlic flavor but not overpowering. The chicken itself is so good that it doesn't need any sauce with it. The beer section was my centre of attention; I ordered Korean beer, not the best but okay. My wife loved the ice mango beer she ordered. We had a bit of a problem with the service, it might be because of the peak hour, but we got our menu after 10 minutes of waiting and not above average service. Pelicana Chicken in Flushing recently underwent a major renovation, both in terms of its interior space and its menu, and I have to say, the changes have made a world of difference. To be honest, before the revamp, the spot was just average. The fries weren't great, and overall, the food didn't really stand out. However, with the new ownership and menu updates, everything has turned around. The chicken is now super crisp, exactly how it should be, and I have to give special mention to the calamari--it's seriously good! We ended up going there almost every week in July (partly because of the drink specials), but trust me, we wouldn't have kept coming back if the food wasn't up to par. Pelicana has really upped its game, and I would now recommend this joint to anyone looking for great fried chicken and more. If you've been before and weren't impressed, it's definitely worth giving it another shot. read more

Having just moved to flushing, there is certainly no shortage of chicken restaurants in the area. However, Pelicana Chicken feels the most authentic. The way the chicken is prepared and served reminds me of the chicken places back in Korea! The chicken was extremely juicy and not dry at all. The service was great as well, my fiancé and I were the only ones in the restaurant but we didn't feel alienated or out of place. We had a lady server who was very pleasant to talk to. We just wish the staff wouldn't eat out in the dining room while there were customers, even if it was just only us two. All in all, I will definitely be back to Pelicana to have some more of their delicious chicken. Oh! I almost forgot about the plastic finger tips the provide for you so you don't get your fingers greasy! A very welcome service. read more

I came here 2 days ago and I was blown away. The white snow fries was possibly the best food (not just the best fries but best food) I've eaten in years. I came back tonight with more of my friends to show them how amazing everything was and they agreed... this place is banging. The drinks are topped with fruity slushie ice and the unique flavor drinks are really good. The chicken and sauces are also both really top notch. Any way... this is officially going to be one of my go to spots when Im hungry or want to get some drinks with friends. LITERALLY THE BEST CHICKEN AND FRIES SPOT IN QUEENS. Pelicana Chicken is the ideal spot for a late night snack. They have some incredibly flavorful and crunchy chicken that is fresh as can be. I would recommend the "white snowing cheese", as it has a sweet taste to it that compliments the salty nature of the chicken and/or fries. The 2AM closing time is great and makes it the number one spot for a bite while out at night. If you're looking for a Korean Fried Chicken place that offers you a decent variety of finger foods and sauces accesible 14 hours a day, then Pelicana is most definitely the place for you. read more

Pelicana Chicken itself doesn't look like much from the outside, but the service and quality of food is top notch. When you walk in you are greeted with respectful hosts, and are met with a design stating how high quality their chicken actually is. All chicken is cage free as well as antibiotic free. I thoroughly enjoy going to Pelicana Chicken with friends, as they have very accommodating seating, and a great selection of alcohol. I have tried their Fried Wings with Pelicana signature sauce and honey garlic sauce. They were just okay, like other Korean fried chicken places. Their fries were good. The signature sauce can be ordered with varying levels of spice to suit discerning tastes. Atmosphere is low key with dimmed led lighting, very conversational and casual atmosphere. Service is solid and timely. There's a button on the table to ask for service rather than attempting your best impression of signal flagging down a waiter or waitress. My friends come here all the time and I hear great things about almost constantly. Eventually the curiosity broke me, and I just had to experience this fabled chicken spot for myself. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised by the very modern clean aesthetic of the shop. The server was very kind and helpful, even recommended some specialties that I should try. I should've just saved the sauce from the first bag!
