Went there once with my sister. Rude is the only word I can use ro describe this place. So because we are not Korean these people have a hard time serving us. We were seated immediately then forgotten about. I was going to leave then the waitress took our order. Waitress had the personality of a rock. Took forever for the food to come. I think it's safe to say that everyone likes fried chicken... unless you're a herbivore, then I don't know why you're on this page to begin with reading the reviews for Pelicana Chicken. I was a little disappointed that they didn't give us the finger condoms. I was looking forward to that because my sister and my friends had told me about the finger condoms and one of the main reasons why I came to Pelicana Chicken are for the finger condoms. Anyways. We ordered the half marinated chicken wings and half garlic chicken with the fries/onion platter. The food was delicious; my date was dull, I was stuffed but I just kept eating because it was so good. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender when you bit down; again, it was so good. The bathroom is clean and spacious. Their decor was cute. That's all I can say about that. The bill came around to be about 40 dollars and even though my date went dutch, (not that I'm complaining, I don't mind paying for my good food) I paid using my card. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got to try it one Friday night. My group and I was seated no problem upon walking in. We ordered what our waitress recommended to us, which included the crispy marinated wings, the crispy bbq wings and the crispy snowy wings (the cheesy wings). My favorite was the crispy marinated. We also got the 2000c blue moon which can pour about 5-6 glasses of beer (in case you needed a reference). Don't forget to check in to claim your free soda! This restaurant has great chicken! I always get the Ppurio whole chicken which is perfect for sharing between 2 or 3 people depending on how hungry you are. The atmosphere is very trendy and upbeat. The service is pretty good, and they even have a button on the table to call your server if they're farther away from you. They're super friendly and want to make sure you have a great time. Location: parking wasn't bad, meters on the street. Small door but the inside is good sized, easy fit for larger parties. Not nearly as crowded as Mad for Chicken, for now. I live in flushing so I have been to all the chicken houses here and although the other places have been here for years, this new place is by far the best. There are two different styles of chicken, fried chicken and soy sauce style chicken. For fried chicken, Pelicana is the way to go! My favorite dish is the crispy fried chicken with a side of both marinated and garlic sauce so that I can dip and choice! The chicken is very well seasoned that it tastes amazing on its own. However, they are overpriced compared to other restaurants. Though that has not been good for my wallet, I feel the taste is worth every penny! P.S. There draft beer is awesome too! I've been here on multiple occasions and haven't gotten around to writing a review for this place now. The place kind of looks like a hole in the wall and it's easy to pass by because there are so many shops surrounding it. The inside is a decent size and usually dimly lit (ambiance). You are greeted at the door and seated and the staff, while not always available, are friendly, though not always great at speaking English (varies on the waiter). I usually get their snowing cheese fries (definitely the best fries option in my opinion) and either get their wings or fried whole chicken. I personally enjoy their marinated chicken the best at level 2 spiciness (there are 3 levels) as I find it to be the best balance of flavor and heat. They also have soy and garlic and regular, which are both good as well. The chicken always comes out moist and hot, which I find to be the best part. They also offer various alcoholic beverages (beer, soju, mixed drinks). I find this place to be better than Mad for Chicken and Kyo Chon and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys (Korean-style(?)) fried chicken and beer. read more
