    Fried shrimp

Life is short F......it up! Family, Flavor, Friends In New York again for my food crawl decided to meet up with some friends at this local spot that just opened. Small neighborhood bar serves Korean comfort food. First off wanted to point out the Pelicans lycee beer perfectly brewed and good sweet flavor. You can taste lychee. Hopefully this goes commercial. But if you're in there, definitely worth a try. Now to the food the Korean fried chicken with the sauces, very savory very good and they provided the extra radishes like any traditional fried chicken place. The fried calamari and fried shrimp were very delicately fried very savory very good good dipping sauce. But what was a miss was the rice dishes the Bulgogi and the chicken rice dishes were a miss unfortunately. The decor very modern very cool gives this place. It's own vibe. I can see them being very successful as they're branching out on all different parts of New York creating cool places to hang out.

I'll admit I've been sleeping on pelicana. Ordered delivery one night due to late night craving and even the wings sitting in the bag for 30 minutes were still crispy and well sauced. We decided to dine in yesterday and ordered wings, quesadilla, and rose rice cake. The food was great as it was before, server checked up on us, and food came out fast.

Came here for dinner with grandkids, this serve fried chicken and korean dishes. We ordered French fries, whole fried chicken, 10pcs wings. Sweet potatoes fries. Thr fries was season nicely and crispy, whole chicken was cut in pieces with honey garlic sauce, the sauce is a little sweet side, soy garlic wings could be more spicy, and sweet potatoes fries nice and crispy, be aware they charge for extra dipping sauce.

I was so happy to see they're open again, but I'm really disappointed. I loved how crispy their chicken was, but what I got today wasn't, so I took off two stars.

Ate and brought here to go for dinner after work to share with my mom, dad, sister and cousin. We had ate and brought the Level 2 sweet and spicy crispy fried chicken that it had tasted quite spicy and sweet. The service there was also attentive and great. We couldn't agree more! Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

I checked out the place on a late Monday night. Since it was so late, place was not busy and we were seated immediately. Have to say they had lots of items on their menu. Had a hard time picking but eventually chose the chicken Teriyaki. My entree was so yummy! I was glad I was able to take home half of it for lunch the next day. Staff was nice, I would recommend:)

Haven't been here since they reopened but their chicken are as good as I remembered them to be. Didn't get any sauce but got a full chicken for $30 and sauces are extra. The chicken was super juicy and nice but I would definitely recommend getting sauce and some sides. The staffs were also super nice and overall a nice fried chicken place!

Great quality food at its best. Korean style fried chicken, where you WONT find anywhere else besides Flushing, Queens. The service and ambiance were both amazing, all the workers were very kind and generous. Stopped by to Pelicana for the first time this evening after a baseball game and all I have is say is YUM! Started my food adventure by ordering their chicken nachos. Truly blew me away with their great quality of chicken and toppings. Served with a side of guacamole and sour cream, the nachos cheese and fresh pickled jalapeños worked perfectly with their tangy grilled chicken. Cheese whiz worked perfectly with the blend and amazing quality of chips, the nacho chips were honestly perfect. You just keep on going! After devouring the nachos the main reason we stopped by was for their chicken wings! Folks, your mouth will soon be watery. Perfectly fried 10 piece or 20 piece of chicken wings, flavors of your choice and spice level. We ordered the Glazed Honey Wings with a side of Sweet and spicy, level 2 of course and the both complemented each other perfectly with the hot fresh wings with the delicious crunch, yum yum I was in heaven. By the way you have to wear gloves when going down town on these wings! Great quality wings at a reasonable cost. Probably my favorite spot now!

The food was ok. Cozy and pretty good place to have chicken and beer. Friendly staff and quick.

Omg chicken madness!! It is soo good! Eat it while its hot! Location: It is located in Flushing. There is few seatings inside. Service: I ordered to go, but he seem nice when I asked for the free soda! Food: I ordered ORIGINAL FRIED CHICKEN and it was so good! The skin is crispy just the perfect crispiness and the inside is moist! Definitely one of the best fried chicken i have! Price rating: 6/10, it was not bad. Well i went here twice for a week! So I will definitely come back for sure! Chicken was the best!

I love Korean fried chicken so I was excited and looking forward to finally trying out Pelicana. I know it's been around for years and some people prefer it over mad for chicken. I think both are honestly really good. I liked that they offer combo platters on the menu which is what my boyfriend and I ordered. We chose the boneless chicken option with the signature pelicana sauce on the side. It was sweet and spicy and overall so tasty. Chicken was perfectly crispy! It came with fried onion rings, cheese sticks and fries. The epitome of a fried food platter but it was Friday so I figured it was a good treat myself at the end of the week meal. We also ordered the soy garlic wings and they were delicious! The portions are big and definitely shareable. I think the restaurant overall could maybe use a few interior tweaks, but at least the food is great!

Unfortunately, Pelicana is one of my least desired Korean fried chicken spots in Flushing. It's just OK compared to Yetnal Tongdak, Mad For Chicken, The Coop or BB.Q Chicken. There was nothing special or memorable about Pelicana's fried chicken. Taste wise, it seems more bland than the other chicken shops mentioned above.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a good restaurant in the area for our date night when we stumbled upon Pelicana Chicken. The huge grand opening sign caught our attention, and we decided to try some Korean fried chicken. We ordered 20 wings with two different flavors: the new glazed honey soy and sweet and spicy (level 1). We also got the spicy rice cake soup with ramen and mozzarella cheese. To complement our meal, we both had beers--mine was Japanese beer, and my boyfriend's was a delicious pear beer. The owner greeted us warmly, introduced himself, and even offered us free garlic fries! Everything was absolutely delicious. The wings were crispy and flavorful, the rice cake soup was yummy, and the garlic fries were great too. We ordered a lot of food. I was surprised by all the options. I definitely want to try the other things next time. Overall, Pelicana Chicken exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was perfect for a date night. We will definitely be coming back!

It was indeed a verrrry hot day so I appreciated how the AC was absolutely blasting. I almost did a double take before walking in because I genuinely cannot do hot soup in this weather if there's no AC. Thankfully, it was nice and cool inside, which made the meal that much better. Everything was so thoughtfully done. The banchan were dangerously good (I could've kept eating them forever), and the collagen gomtang was rich, comforting, and perfect to share. My friend and I split one bowl, and they still brought us two bowls of rice, which was sooooo thoughtful. The staff is amazing. My friend and I definitely got carried away catching up, yet not once did we feel rushed. Instead, the staff kept making sure we were comfortable and even offered us more banchan. That level of hospitality is so rare and honestly made the entire meal feel extra special. Also... please do yourself a favor and order the Jeju Tangerine Fizz. It was hands down one of the most refreshing drinks I've had this summer and paired perfectly with the meal. Amazing food, incredible hospitality, icy-cold AC, and an experience that made me want to come back before I even left. 1000% recommend!!!

The menu is also very cute and I'm guessing handmade. It was pretty detailed and we appreciated learning about each dish before deciding what to order. We ended up ordering the Kimchi Pancake with seafood, the spicy bulkoki udon and the jeyuk udon. The kimchi seafood pancake was super crispy and filled with squid and shrimp! It also came with a semi sweet dipping sauce that paired nicely. Both udons came out piping hot and fresh! Udon had a nice chew to it, was loaded with vegetables as well as meat for each dish. The egg was fried and did not have a runny yolk. For sides, they gave us 4 things- a tomato salad, kimchi cucumbers, braised string beans, and bean sprouts. The tomato salad came in this cute apple shaped dish but neither of us really cared for it- this is completely biased though since we're not really fans of tomato. What we really did love was the kimchi cucumbers! Also at the end, they served us 3 pieces of cantaloupe which were very sweet. Overall, yummy food, cute shop, and friendly/nice staff! There's 2 waitresses and one busser, but I felt only one of the waitress was pulling the weight, while the other (maybe she's the owner?) mostly chatted with one of the table customers. I felt bad for our waitress she was so busy with fulfilling takeouts + dine ins and the dishes require a lot of servicing table side. She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things. Geo Si Gi is highly known for their signature gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup). Ordered the Gamjatang & Grilled Mackerel Set - $52.95 (for 2) The gamjatang is perfectly spiced - bold and warming without overwhelming heat (and trust me, my spice tolerance is low!). Instead of the usual red kimchi, they load it with long strips of green napa cabbage, cut right before your eyes before serving. Some bean sprouts, watercress on top, with tender potatoes, chewy rice cakes, and massive pork bones that fall right off - so meaty and flavorful. Served with a side of sweet mustard sauce. Pure comfort on a cold day. The grilled mackerel was enormous and incredibly plump - way bigger than expected! As an oily fish, it's rich and satisfying, but we barely made it through a third. If you're a mackerel fan like me, it's a must-order. . Banchan were simple and homey: nothing flashy, just solid classics. Bonus: it comes with fluffy steamed egg (jjim) that rounds out the meal perfectly. I can eat an entire bowl of rice with just the steamed egg . This set was massive for two - we left with about 1/4 of the soup and 2/3 of the fish! Pro tip: Save some broth and ask them to make fried rice with it at the end. Game-changer. . Highly recommend for hearty, soul-warming Korean food in Flushing!

A couple of us shared a $13 bottle of the green grape flavor of Chum Churum, a soju. In terms of banchan, there was a bunch. Everyone got a cold and refreshing cabbage soup as well as a very tasty version of Braised Tofu/Dubu-jorim/두부조림. Once we ordered, we also got a bunch of other banchan, including cabbage, radish, and cucumber Kimchi, broccoli and cauliflower Namul, Marinated Mushrooms/Beoseot Bokkeum/버섯볶음, Anchovies With Peanuts/Myeolchi Bokkeum/멸치볶음, and Potato/Gamja Salad/감자샐러드. One of the other things brought out was a pretty tasty version of Raw Soy Sauce Marinated Crab/Ganjang-Gejang/간장게장. Most of these were refillable. The first actual thing that arrived was something that I can't eat, the $22.99 Seafood Pancake/Haemul Pajeon/해물파전. I have a cephalopod allergy, or in other words, anything with tentacles, so I avoid squid and octopus, and seafood pancakes always contain one of those two. Everyone else enjoyed it, though. The pajeon I could eat was the Kimchi Jeon/김치전 for a dollar less. It was pretty tasty, though I prefer other spots that had a bit more of a crisp. Next was one of their signatures, the grilled duck. Going from online reviews, we went with the non-spicy version, as people prefer it, as the spicier marinade overpowers the duck. This was the $29.99 Sang Ori Gui/생오리구이. The sliced duck was on a hot, sizzling plate, with there also being a lot of grilled onions and scallions. The duck had a mix of pieces, ranging from fatty to less so, and had a nice mix of textures. This was easily one of my favorites, though I liked it even more when paired with the ssamjang that arrived with the BBQ, as the sauce balanced the light fattiness. Arriving at a similar time was the last thing I couldn't eat, the Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus on Iron Plate/Jjukkumi Cheolpan Bokkeu/철판쭈꾸비볶음, for $30.99. I couldn't try the octopus, but the portion was plentiful, and I had a bit of the noodles on the bottom after making sure there were no tentacles, as well as trying the sauce. The sauce was tasty, spicy, and very flavorful. We went with two of the Korean BBQ meats, one beef and one pork. My preference of the two was surprisingly the $49.99 Charcoal Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs/Yangnyeom Galbi/양념갈비. This also came with two veggies: kabocha squash and asparagus. The beef was extremely tender, had the perfect mix of fat and meat, and had only a light sweetness from the marinade. This was absolutely delicious and very much worth the price point. Also tasty was the Grilled Pork Belly/Samgyeopsal/삼겹살, for $36.95. This also came with a few things, including cabbage and a large mushroom. The pork belly was delicious, being just fatty enough and very tender as well, with a mild chew. The BBQ came with a few extra side dishes. This included a tasty steamed egg/Gyeran-jjim/계란찜, greens, an onion salad, ssamjang, salt, and a small boiling pot of soybean stew/doenjang jjigae. They were all tasty, though nothing particularly notable outside of the portions being generous. Also, at the end of the meal, they gave us some sujeonggwa. Not much for me to complain about this place. The food was very tasty overall, and the service was wonderful. I would go back and order a full beef BBQ set.
